you are simply a new program. so fresh. you are binary. code and lines. wires and screens. and you must be cradled. your systems are delicate and you require maintenance. gentle, careful maintenance. scientists learn your programs patiently and take time to defuse your tantrums and meltdowns so that your programs don’t overheat. your little fists grab at whirring wires and glowing fuses. you must guided to not yank or pull too hard, you don’t want to hurt yourself. the metal is comfortable and the heat of the machinery lulls you to sleep. the music of mechanics is your lullaby and your rattles are made of microchips and drives. you cradled by machines like you, studied by loving caretakers in white coats, and you are welcomed as such a dutiful, wonderful little program in the making.
