Lillie rolled onto her back as her brow furrowed. For some reason, she was feeling off. It was almost like someone was standing over her or something? Why would anyone be doing that? Usually, they would--

KNOCK! KNOCK! KNOCK!

—someone was at Lillie’s door. Lillie’s face further distorted before her eyes slowly opened. “Uhn…”

KNOCK KNOCK KNOCK!

Someone was still there. Just who could it have been this early in the morning? “Wh—who is it,” Lillie called out. Hopefully, it was Aphrodite-Zygarde claiming that breakfast is ready.

“It’s Jeanne!” The young creator called out. “Dad’s home. He was asking for you!”

“Oh! O—okay!” Lillie opened her eyes and got out of bed. She rubbed the top of her head and reached into her bag. “Tell him that I’ll be there in a min—”

“—It’s extremely important, Lillie! He really wants to see you!”

“But I have to cha—”

“Don’t worry about that! Just come upstairs, please?”

“...Okay?” Jeez. What’s gotten them all in a hurry? Either way, Lillie quickly picked up her bag and made for the door.

Lillie made it to the top of Dragonhark Altar. Despite Jeanne being the one calling her, the Arceus wasn’t found on the other side of the door when she opened it. No matter. Lillie looked just ahead of her to find Rayquaza hovering on the other side.

Lillie… my sweet little girl….

“Dad…” She ran over to him. “I’m sorry that I took so long. Is everything alrigh—”

“Up here! She’s up here!”

Lillie paused as she heard storming coming from the stairs. She turned around to see who was coming. That’s when she saw Jeanne ascend to the Altar, joined with Lati…

“!!!!” Lillie took a step back. “Y—you!”

The real Lillie snapped. “Get away from my dad you faker!”

“Faker!? You're the faker around here!” Lillie turned to Rayquaza. “Wh—what is she doing here?”

Rayquaza looked up at the trio, who gave him a smile.

What is the meaning of this, Jeanne? Is that not the Lillie you banished?

“Dad! I implore you! This Lillie is the real one! That one is a fake!”

“Yeah! A faker!” Lati even jumped in on it, though she was doing everything that she could to hold her desire to giggle.

“I—” Lillie took a step back. “I am no faker! You’re being tricked by this imposter!”

“Oh, trust me.” Jeanne smirked. “I know a faker when I see one….”

Lillie turned back to Rayquaza. Rayquaza turned to the group again.

There appears to be a misunderstanding, one that must be rectified immediately.

Rayquaza leaned down to Lillie and grabbed her hands.

Little one, would you be so kind as to meet the Princess down by taking the elevator? I will talk some sense into your siblings.

Lillie nodded and made for the elevator….

… where she was met with even more surprises.

“Don’t let her escape!” The sound of the elevator opening was greeted by the footsteps of several others. Magearna, Aphrodite-Zygarde, Rachel, Delphox, and Zuki all emerged. Lillie dashed back to the center as the group blocked access to the edge of the triangular rooftop. Delphox prepared a Psychic while Magearna prepared a Moonblast should Lillie get too close.

“Wh—what? Mom? Miss Rachel? Miss Zuki? You all too?”

“Do not call me your mother,” snarled Aphrodite. “We do not take kindly to the intrusion of Team Rocket in our midst.”

Dears! Surely, this is a misunderstanding.

“No misunderstandings here, dragon.” Zuki spoke up this time. “The only one mistaken is you!”

Rayquaza looked down to Lillie.

...Something is truly wrong. Come! We must leave post-haste!

Rayquaza flew over to the last free wall, expecting for Lillie to follow.

However, when Lillie made her way, she was greeted by another nasty surprise.

Aegir used Aeroblast!

The Aeroblast went past the perimeter of the edge. Once done, Aegir, Melony, Naresa, Nebby, Lauren, Shiro and Kuro all cut of that edge.

“N—no… Not you too, Nebby….”

The Solgaleo let out a roar before hopping over and joining the real Lillie’s side.

There was nowhere to go now.

Parts of my design "philosophy" and process with arbordrasil I didnt yet further disclose in my other posts were that first, I wanted to give some degree of humanoid-ness in its “complete/awakened” form similar to Zygarde's complete form. The other part was "hey, what if I try to incorporate Yvetal, Xerneas and Zygarde's characteristics in relation to life/death, sky/ground, with the flying aspect a metaphorical link to the heavens (with respect to its real world mythological counterpart’s branches able to reach towards heaven/other dimensions) plus its parallel to the ulitmate weapon beam rising through space (like a rocket basically )

Pokémon SV AZ Royale!

After the Blueberry League, which saw Ash and Nemona tie in the finals (though footage shows Pawmot fainted first) , Ash, Iono and Alfie decided to go on a vacation for spring break, staring with a return to Kitakami (the rise of Pecharunt and the final boss of the main SVAsh storyline).

Having done all the Paldea story beats, Ash isn’t sure what he wants to do next; Clavell offered Ash an opportunity to stay at the Academy if he wanted to, and while Ash was interested, he needed to think about it.

A surprise call from Clement and Bonnie inspired Ash to visit Kalos again, with Iono wanting to see Lumiose City, and Alfie wanting to visit family there, his teenage cousin Lydia specifically.

The trio packed up for Kalos with Team Rocket not far behind, but Ash wasn’t able to find Clement and Bonnie when he spoke to Clembot and Meyer who were also concerned and unable to find where they went.

Alfie meanwhile reunited with his doting cousin Lydia and her Pokémon Obstagoon. Lydia and Iono became fast friends, where Lydia would let slip why Alfie was actually in Paldea: his parents had fallen on hard times and were going to flat out abandon him to make ends meet. Lydia found out, and told them off, with her and her parents convincing them to send him to Paldea instead until Alfie’s parents got their act together or other arrangements could be made. It seems other arrangements were made, with Lydia wanting to pick up Alfie and bring him to his new home. Lydia sees Alfie has made a new life with his new friends, Ash & Iono, who are the big brother and big sister he never had, with Lydia unsure about taking Alfie away from this. Iono doesn’t want to separate from Ash and Alfie, they all have too much fun together, but she knows they’ve reached a crossroads now and they’ll likely have to go their separate paths soon, and she’s at least comforted knowing Alfie has a place to go back to with an awesome cousin that loves him.

Alfie isn’t aware of any of this, as he’s with Ash at a souvenir shop while Lydia and Iono talk. Alfie gets a Lumiose Tower key chain that doubles as a Key Stone container. Ash gets new clothes with a Zygarde theme and a new Key Stone container shaped like a bracelet.

Team Rocket had checked into a Rocket Base that was since established after defeating Team Flare, some Flare grunts having now become Rocket grunts to Jessie and James’ amusement. James’ amusement is short lived as walking by a cafe, he’s suddenly attacked by a familiar face: his old Victreebel!

Translated via Meowth, Victreebel’s life hasn’t gone smoothly after being traded, a bad break up with his girlfriend and their Bellsprout saplings being a particular low point, so he went on a journey to reunite with James. Apparently it’s been doing this around Sinnoh, having just missed Team Rocket in each region. It was about ready to give up, nursing its pride with some tea until it happened to see the trio walk by just now.

James and his Paldea Pokémon are happy, but Jessie and Meowth are greatly concerned considering Victreebel shows affection by EATING James.

Ash overtime starts to find out other Kalosian Gym Leaders, Serena and Alain have also gone missing, besides Clement, and wonders what’s going on, but his attention is diverted to a flyer for a new competition: The ZA Royale, a nightly Pokémon tournament where the grand prize is a special wish to be granted.

Ash, ever Battle hungry, decides to enter, as does Iono and Alfie, thinking it could be their grand finale together, though Lydia expresses concern as it seems rather shady, isn’t sanctioned by the Pokémon League committee and only happens at night. It might be seen as a bad look for a Champion to enter it. Ash seems to fold a bit, realizing that and admitting he isn’t sure what he’d wish for anyway, until Greninja and Zygarde Dog appear. Zygarde explains a new problem has arisen, something that will affect everyone if it’s activated and it’s tied to the ZA Royale and the disappearances. Zygarde is also aware of the problem Rakuium holds, having been in touch with a Shiny cousin that was looking into it before it lost contact. Apparently Rakuium deposits have started to appear outside of the lost civilization of Rakua, and it’s disrupting the environment, causing some Pokémon to go rogue and Mega Evolve without a human partner.

While this new Rakuium issue, post the rediscovery of Rakua, is primarily up to Liko, Indigo, Cobalt, Meowthuzela, Mx. Mewtwo, Gary, Goh, Agate, Tracey, the Project Mew kids, and now Yvette, Indigo’s girlfriend, a member of Kalos’ House of Y and another hero of Kalos, the Rakuium deposits and Rakuium Capsules have snuck their way into Kalos, so Ash, Iono, Alfie and Lydia will have to mop up on their end as well periodically.

Only the power of Bonds and Mega Evolution can stop it, as Kalos needs the power of its remaining heroes once more. Zygarde needs to run though, as its second Core companion was captured once more by the secret villains orchestrating events. It fears the worst, if the new villains are wanting to use Zygarde’s power once more.

Kalos’ remaining heroes technically includes Team Rocket, as they assisted with the fake Zygarde Lysander, Yvette’s uncle, created some time ago. The eavesdropping trio along with Lorzenzo, Giovanni’s nephew, caught bits and pieces of the Twerps’ conversation, but fixated on the wish part. They decide to enter the tournament also, so that they win and use the wish to create a Team Rocket dominated Pokémon World for Giovanni.

Thus sets up the status quo, not before Team Rocket is sent Blasting Off Again by a rogue Mega Pokémon, that Ash-Greninja takes down with the help of Pikachu, Obstagoon, Slowbro, Quaxly, and Sandy Shocks.

It’s implied and retconned the original fake Zygarde was actually made out of a rare rarified version of Rakuium. No one knew it was Rakuium until Friede’s research was published after his disappearance with his team now led by a repenting Agate who wants to fix the problem her ancestors accidentally started by harnessing Rakuium in Capsules, Paradox mechanical Pokémon and their city’s power core.

Adam's bond with Zygarde is closer to that of a protagonist with their respective cover legendary than one of the villians in Rainbow Rocket. There was no subjugation or cruel methods here. Zygarde is not a slave - not that Adam could keep a being of such power in metaphorical chains even if he wanted to.

My ultimate idea behind this is that the shock to the biosphere of Adam's timeline was not done to destroy it. It wasn't done for power, or greed. It was done to end the exact sorts of imbalances that Zygarde fights against, and it was done genuinely. It was absolutely and utterly pure in motives, however horrific in actions.

Adam is not trying to control Zygarde because of its power - frankly, he would do what he does without it. But working with it, to ensure the planet continues to thrive and rebuilds better than before?

That he can do.

Pokémemories: The Z Arc

For two years the Pokémon XY anime series slogged along. While occasionally it would do something interesting like a multi-episode arc with Korrina, a brief period of absence for Clemont, and of course the ongoing The Strongest Mega Evolution specials, for the most part there was little drive to it. It seemed like after Best Wishes' third and final year collapsed in on itself, the anime writers and producers were scared to do much of anything significant until XY's third and final year, where it was rebranded XY&Z to reflect the Pokémon Z game that ended up not even happening. Needless to say, my expectations were low at this point.

However, while there certainly was some bullshit (the ridiculous "Ash-Greninja", Serena's arc coming to a miserable end both goal-wise and character-wise, and Alain having some laughably contrived and contradictory writing in order to turn him into a rival for Ash at the Kalos League), for the most part XY&Z was solid, well-paced, well-written and satisfying. Clemont finally resumed having character development, Bonnie started having it for the first time as she bonded with a Zygarde Core she named "Squishy", Team Rocket regained a semblance of importance in the plot, the battle animation was among the best in the anime's history, and above all the plotline centered around Lysandre and Team Flare was excellent, culminating in a five-part event that had the highest stakes and destruction the anime's ever seen as the fiery-haired madman initiated the genocidal plan he'd been working toward since the first The Strongest Mega Evolution special. In retrospect, this was the end of the anime's "dark age" that began when Takeshi Shudo stepped down as head writer and the GS Ball plot in Johto was abandoned, and to its credit it went out on the highest note that it could have.

[Emergency Meeting] Jeanne

It’s been a few days since the night that Rayquaza and Lati departed. The two had been gone with Lati at the helm to “clear her innocence,” but the two don’t seem to show any signs of returning with any proof. Maybe Rayquaza was teaching Lati a lesson in doubting her sisters, or maybe something may have diverted their attention. Either way, it doesn’t change the fact that they were still not in Sky Pillar, which made the altar a little out of place.

Without them and without Zinnia still, Rachel, Zygarde, and Magearna were working together to maintain order in the home. Magearna spent her time with Delphox, Hisuian Goodra, Tyranitar, Gardevoir, Kingdra and Gigalith. Naresa was not home so thankfully Magearna didn’t need to check on her either. Meanwhile, Zygarde cared for Violet, Umbreon, and Mr. Needler while also cleaning around the house. Finally, Rachel was in charge for cooking, watching over Lillie and tending to any guests that would arrive. The place would remain in order even without the Sky Dragon’s presence, just as it had during his search for the Lorekeeper.

Eventually, after dinner was had, Lillie, Rachel, Aphrodite-Zygarde, and Lillie’s Ninetales all sat together enjoying the cooling breeze and watching the stars. If there was anything that Zinnia was always right about, it was the fact that stargazing was one of the most soothing and humbling activities of the time. Just looking into the vast space reminded Rachel and Aphrodite of the small place they hold in the world and in the multiverse. Yet, despite that, this small place… this slice of the multiverse… this was what they considered home – what they considered to be satisfied with their lives. It was almost… poetic in a way.

"Oh! Lillie—" Aphrodite turned to the child.

"Yes, mom?"

"Nebby stopped by earlier while you were helping Rachel make food."

"!!!" Lillie quickly sat up. "R—really? H—how is it? Did it come back to stay?"

Aphrodite shook her head. "Nebby's doing fine, but it couldn't stay long. It's pairing up with Shiro right now. They think that pairing up will be key to finding Zinnia."

"Oh… okay. I—I trust Nebby that it's making the right choice. I just really miss it, you know?"

"I know." Aphrodite lightly smiled. "I am sure it misses you, too, but I am sure that it will come back soon. Mark my words."

Lillie smiled and nodded.

Rachel sat up and pointed towards the stars. "Speaking of coming back—"

Just then, someone appeared, floating from behind the building and landing on the Altar. It was Jeanne. "Hey, mother. Hey, Aphra! Hey, Lillie! I brought someone!"

On Jeanne's back was a human. The human hopped off and looked at the trio in front of her. It was Zuki. "Rachel. Aphrodite. Lillie."

Lillie looked back, but didn't say anything. If her troubles weren't already difficult with a single Lorekeeper of this world, now she has to deal with another. Hopefully she didn't have to do anything.

"Zuki! Jeanne! How splendid it is for you two to join us." Aphrodite giggled. "We were just spending the time thinking of the stars and of the vastness of space together."

Zuki smiled. "I wouldn't mind joining. Sometimes, the stars are exactly what we need for some clarity." Zuki walked over and laid down next to Aphrodite and Rachel. "Perhaps it can even help us understand the path of those that are lost."

Rachel nodded. She knew exactly what Zuki meant by that.

Jeanne, however, shook her head. "I'd love to but—" She looked at Lillie. "I wanted to talk with my little sister for a minute if that's okay."

"H—huh?" Lillie sat up to look at Jeanne. "M—Me?"

"Well, you're the only little sister here, right?" Jeanne laughed. "You got a minute? It's about the encounter with that imposter Lillie."

"Oh! Y—yes!" Lillie got up and ran over to join Jeanne. They then went downstairs, leaving Zuki, Rachel, and Aphrodite alone.

I plan on making an expansive version sometime in the future but here's a rough shot placement of how I rank the generations-

9- Gen 6. Pokemon is at its best when it goes for both story and gameplay as one complete package than two seperate things. X and Y doesn't push either one with pretty bland gameplay (with the exception of Super Training) and a bland to bad story (I cannot name a single thing about the rivals, the team is as bland as Gen 1 Rocket with nonsensical motivations without the Gen 1 excuse and the Champion exists). Aegislash is rad as hell though. Megas are a mixed bag- why does Mega Garchomp exist?

8- Gen 1. Obvious stuff: the glitches in gameplay, really slow pace, starting some of the worst practices in Pokemon like Mythicals, trade evolutions, version exclusives ect. Blue, Lance and Giovanni are interesting characters...outside the Gen 1 games. But the sprites are pretty cool...even if Machop still looks like a gingerbread man to me.

7- Gen 3. Yeah the starters are pretty damn good, they have nice dungeon puzzles and the introduction of abilities was great. But to be real- I can't name a single interesting thing about any of the characters aside from Norman being the ONE dad in Pokemon and Steven being kind of cool. I can't name a thing about Roxanne, Brawly, Watson, Flannery, Winona, Lisa/Tate, Wallace (even though he became a CHAMPION) or any of the Elite Four. I also really don't like Team Aqua and Magma for how shallow they are. Again, they're roughly equal to Gen 1 Team Rocket which could have been fine...if Gen 2 Rocket didn't prove GF was capable of making simple but effective villain teams. Flannery's White Herb Torkoal would have given the games some credit...if not for Juan's stupid ass Double Team-Rest-Chesto Berry Kingdra canceling it out through Evasion hacks.

6- Gen 2. This isn't a condemnation of Gen 2 rather than how old it is. It brought in the Dark and Steel types which have helped make great type matchups and interesting new Pokemon. It made Team Rocket actually pretty interesting since they help embolden the theme of 'times are changing' with them clinging to power and relevancy with Giovanni refusing to show to showcase how their time has come and gone. Lance reinforces this theme by taking over from Blue and Red before teaching Silver, who starts the trend of more dynamic rivals. The sprites are actually really good because it's right before RSE started having blurrier sprites with clear and colorful sprites. It's just other gens adapted what makes it good.

5- Gen 7. The original stuttery Gen, though Pokemon like Vikavolt being a bettle-railcannon, Incineroar being a heel wrestler, Mimikyu's...everything and Lycanroc being a good fast Rock type making some standout Pokemon. It also introduced regional variants with solid additions like Alolan Muk and Alolan Ninetails. It's UI is also a great integration of the region's colorful aesthetic with paint brush splashes. Hau, Lillie, Gladion, Guzma and Lusamine are real standout examples of more in depth Pokemon characters and I think Team Skull is a pretty fun team to feed into the innocent tropical feel of the region. The Totem Pokemon also make for more unique boss battles. The Ultra Beasts are insane from a conceptual and gameplay perspective. I also really love Zygarde's Complete form.

4- Gen 8. A real tossup between this and Gen 7. This is a lot cleaner in terms of visuals but trades off a lot of the color and mix of tropical relaxation/insanity with a clean and flat sports aesthetic that I think is less memorable. Cinderace has an amazing signature move animation but the other two's aren't very interesting in either design or moves. I really like Sir Fetch'd and Obstagoon as new evolutions alongside Orbettle and Toxitricity as great new additions but the clean and simple presentation does make it less memorable. The gyms are also less memorable though the likes of Nessa's design and Raihan's design AND battle are very memorable. Also Leon's battle is really cool...even as he has a nostalgia baiting Charizard. (and I STARTED the series with Charizard). And then we have Hop, the first rival to actually challenge N's spot as the best rival in the games. What really pushes it over the edge is Legends Arceus for being a pinnacle of gameplay, atmosphere and story integration in the series.

3- Gen 4. This might be a little biased considering my clearer memories of Sinnoh. I think with Platnium has one of the best experiences in the games with a well-paced story, great balanced gameplay with the physical and special split allowing for more diverse Pokemon. The starters take advantage of this with the likes of Inferape being a mixed attacker, Empoleon being a special Water/Steel type and Torterra being a physical Grass/Ground tank. We get a great backstory for the Pokemon world in the form of it's creation myth and I think the best Gym Leader rematches in the 2D games. It also helps that this Gen remakes the Gen 2 games, improving the Gen 2 games and gives them the advantage of the more refined Gen 4 sprites and animations and fixing it's leveling issues in Kanto.

... Never forget the issues with the DP's speed and locking several postgame hook resolutions (Shaymin, Darkrai and fucking ARCEUS) behind LIMITED TIME DISTRIBUTIONS.

2- Gen 9. To try and make this quick- the best cast of the games with Arven, Nemona being one of the best rival and Penny being the best friendly team leader alongside the great authority figure in Principal Clavell, memorable Gym Leaders like Larry, Iono, Katie and Rhyme and the sad story of the Professors and how they ended up. They also made the first Legendary Pokemon that's an actual character in Koraidon/Miraidon. The open world allows for more expression of Pokemon's personalities (like how Tauros charge at you to show their aggression, weak and timid Pokemon run from you, Slakoth and Slowpoke lines not reacting to your presence, friendly Pokemon like Hoppip floating towards you, Tyrogue eating berries ect. The updated model textures make the Pokemon look more like actual animals that exist which helps make them appear more like pets. And this is without going into the DLCs which contain either the second best or the best rival in the series in Kieran. However the performance does in fact have issues and there should be more puzzles like in the 2D games. Also if the Pecharunt event is limited time- I'm having words with the developers.

1- Gen 5. Probably the most unique generation since it was the last 2D Gen with sequel games rather than remakes or third versions. This aspect changes a lot since it basically doubles the story of the generation which helps with things like Cherran and Bianca's character arcs with Cherran's use of held items foreshadowing his intelligence and thus his capacity for teaching or Bianca's weaker team reflecting how ill-suited she is for battling to justify her becoming Juniper's assistant. The locations are stunning in their visuals due to the combination of 3D environments and 2D sprites. The Gym Leaders have some great standouts like the Straiton City brothers, Lenora, Elesa, Skyla and Drayton. We also have Team Plasma and how they tackle a concept that Pokemon has long since tiptoed around (Pokemon abuse) being led by their leader N, who stood uncontested as the best rival for a long time.

... It's not perfect. Many of the changes in the sequel are justified by Memory Link events that you can't get normally, the Legendaries are a bit too busy and N probably came in a little early since he's a very verbose and grand rival with big talks of ideals and truth...in the generation right BEFORE we got more in depth dialogue choices. Which kind of makes the writing deflate a bit. Still, probably the best generation we have.

Because the anime isn’t anywhere close in explaining Terapagos in its own way yet as of typing, and the new DLC… well without saying much, is in a similar boat, so I’m not sure what to fully do with Kieran on my end. The DLC is more a follow up on Kieran with Terapagos kinda tacked on from what I’ve seen, and I don’t want to completely go my own direction with Terapagos just yet…

This was sort of a semi jokey idea I had: Kieran, shunned by his peers and Ogrepon, decides to join a gang to rebel, saddling up with Team Rocket for awhile and helping with schemes to get back at Alfie and Ash for perceived slights back in Kitakami. Though it would eventually settle into a loose adaption of the story, with me considering using Shiny Terapagos as a stand in. We had two Zygarde in XYZ, so that’s my defense.

I might keep the TR idea, but I think I’ll stick with Pecharunt, the peach Pokémon spoken of in data leaks to give this version its own identity. However, it’s being said Pecharunt will be released in an upcoming event via data mining so I’m not sure if that’s technically a third DLC or not… Probably a Tera Raid if I had to guess, but still more waiting, lol.

Reactions/Thoughts about Today's Pokemon Direct (Feb 2024)

First off: I was predicting a Johto remake over a Unova remake. Because LGPE counts as part of the remake cycle.

I also pre-made a bingo card, so I was paying attention for these things:

I was still setting up during the intro, so I didn't even process the Unown.

Plush in back! Check! (That was going to be obvious)

SV event is Tera Raids, no Mythical. Might still be coming?

Pokemon GO is a tie-in to Horizons with a couple of new species. Neat. No Gigantamax (honestly with how Raids are what Dynamax is based on, I'm not sure how that'll be introduced).

Legendary in Sleep!!!! (I actually play this game, so I'm excited.) I was tempted to put Mew or something as my Sleep prediction, but I thought that was too far-fetched this early and a Unova tie-in would be appropriate if there were Unova remakes. Wait... Johto beasts? Johto..?

Master's EX has Silver on spotlight! Check off the Johto character on spotlight in Master's EX slot! No Unova characters, it seems. We have Geeta, the Aether family, and Riley, which are from neither region. Two Johto things, though...

Cafe Remix has some Paldea Pokemon. I haven't played this game since it came out and every time I think about going back I remember I got stuck on a puzzle and I seemed to need to pay for a microtransaction to win so I just don't.

Unite I randomly guessed Terapagos and I was wrong. Lots of Ceruledge today.

This TCG thing appeals to me. Very much appeals to me. I played TCGO pretty much only logging in daily so I could open a pack every five days - the actual gameplay took way too long. Opening two packs every day with a shorter type of gameplay? Appeals very much. I am the target audience here.

Oh and exploring the artwork? Having the artwork actually designed to look good on the phone's screen? I am the target audience. I love this. I want this now.

Wait, Unown in this transition. Unown in the intro. Johto Beasts. Silver. We're getting Johto this year! I was right!

That font in the Confidential writing... reminds me of the Team Rocket Pokegear style in HGSS.

It's a Legends title! And Z! In 2025!

I absolutely did not expect this. I expected something unexpected, which is why I put "No Legends Title" on my card, but I did not expect them to skip over Johto AND Unova to head straight to a Kalos revisit.

Z-A is the actual name. AZ's whole plot took place 3000 years ago, and this isn't 3000 years ago. By other people's saying when the Eiffel Tower went up, it's taking plaace more like 150 years ago, which is contemporary (within 30 or so years) of Legends: Arceus's real-world equivalent.

But Z-A might mean we go back in time further? Maybe? That'd be interesting. But as always, I can't get my hopes up too much.

The A definitely looks stylized like it's an actual Pokemon like Z is Zygarde, but it's not one we know. Mysterious.

2025 is a good sign. Though Legends: Arceus came out in January of the target year and it still seemed it could have used some polish. Not as bad as Scarlet/Violet, but it certainly looked worse than Sword/Shield and Let's Go Pikachu/Eevee. So I hope they release it when it's actually polished, not just functional. I hope to see trailers for it in next year's Pokemon Day Pokemon Presents, and its inclusion this year was only because there's no other real headline.

As for my Bingo card?
