Trump: Martial law enthusiast
Donald Trump is a great fan of martial law. But will it be easy for him to impose martial law in the United States when he becomes president?

231006 - hoseok on weverse: "ARMY you all, you've been well right?? 🫡💜 The days (weather) have gotten quite colder!~ Maybe it's because of the cold air, it's a moment where I realize that the time is passing by It does also seem quite exciting, while also making my shoulders heavier and more reverent~
I'm adjusting diligently quicker than I expected but.. since it is a role where I guide and help the young people/youth of ROK in things such as their first steps and also their first starts in the military organization, the pressure along with each group division is also huge.
Still in meaning, I somewhat feel as content/prideful/satisfied as BTS activities 😭😭
Ah…! And also, I achieved Special Forces 🫡 As I do my best every moment in a situation, there's good results as well 🫢😭
I came to let you know that I'm doing really well and maturing even more coolly/nicely
Always be healthy and don't get sick/hurt~ Take care to not catch a cold, our ARMY!!!
'I'm army!' - John Cena"
T/N: 1. I'm not well-versed with military related words so I'm requesting for your understanding 2. John Cena once said he's an ARMY (아미) but he accidentally used the word for military in Korean (군대).

Okay so here's my theory of why I think Hyun-ju's not gonna die and she'll have all of her surgeries living happily in Thailnand;
In the teaser we see Geum-ja (red team), Yong-sik's mother cry with her hair down. What could this mean? So I think Yong-sik (blue team) probably died, killed by another player from the red team. Or maybe Jun-hee died while giving birth bc she lost a lot of blood
For the hair down part, we're gonna supose that Geum-ja used the lil knife of her hairclip to defend herslef.
We can also see that the shaman lady is in the blue team, but I don't thibk she's gonna die (I rlly hope she does, honestly, but I have a feeling she won't)
So, let's remember that Hyun-ju was a first class sergeant on the special forces, who are the most tuff in the ROK army. I firmly believe that Hyun-ju will be able to survive.
But how if another person of her team died?
I think that they're not gonna fully kill eachother. I (hope) they have a timer of 10-15 minutes where thay have the time to kill the people of the other team.
So Hyun-ju will make it out alive!!! 😻 (I say as they drag me to the white room)
Does anybody else have another theory? I need to know your opinions so bad 😭
ALSO ALSO, Lets be real, Hyun-ju is one of the very few good trans representations we have, they're not gonna kill her
EDIT:
THERE IS A TIMER GUYS LOOK
So yeah, no matter blue team or red team, some people from both teams are gonna make it
This made me giggle so hard omg im in history class

Everyone get seaweed soup in their birthdays
Do you really think so, Anon?
I can't imagine you would say this if you had any idea of what life is like on a military base. I'm going to explain it to you because you weren't rude, just wrong
See, I'm not an asshole all the time
Let's start with logistics:
There are 360 THOUSAND soldiers in the ROK army. Just the army.
Have you ever seen a large scale kitchen that serves thousands of meals a day? It's a pretty industrial place, Anon, and everything - from the steamers to the spatulas - is scaled up in size to make sure enough food for comes out at set meal times.
The people who work in those kitchens work bloody hard. There's no time for fucking around when there are hungry soldiers needing food. I know this because my ex-partner was an army cook.

There's no table sevice in the barracks dining room.

Huge trays of basic food are set out and its a help-yourself system for the staples like rice and kimchi. But the soldiers line up with trays for the rationed parts of the meals, and the cooks serve those on a production line so they can stay within a set budget for meals.
Yes they have a buget to work to, and menues are set with a fixed number of meal varieties available.
Seaweed soup isn't on the menu every day. And they don't make individual batches for individual soldiers.
The cooks don't go searching for anyone having a birthday and present them with a bowl of soup. You know that, right?
For soldiers, a birthday is like any other day.
(Unless you're Park Jimin)
It's either on the menu, or its not.
Today it was on the menu. Today is Jimin's birthday. Could it be a coincidence?
Yes it could.
Is it likely?
I think not.
The 5th division has at least 10000, maybe 20000 soldiers. Included in that number are two of the most famous Korean men IN THE WORLD and one of them works in the kitchens. There's ZERO chance that the pair of them have gone unnoticed, you know?
I'm not saying Jungkook is in charge of setting out the menus, but he is charming, hard working, highly skilled and motivated.
He is the man who climbs mountains to fetch snow.
He's the king of grand gestures.
However it came to be, the menu for today - Jimin's birthday - includes the traditional birthday meal that a parent would usually make. (Seaweed soup is associated with postpartum health which is why it's served on birthdays).
So no, everyone does not get seaweed soup on their birthday. That would be like another country's military providing birthday cake for soldiers on their birthday. They get whats on the menu, they don't get a party.
It's the army, not kindergarten.
I hope that clears it up for you.

The U.S. also altered its doctrine for employing nuclear weapons on the Korean Peninsula to further lower the threshold for nuclear attacks on North Korea. The nuclear arsenal was to be deployed within an hour of the outbreak of hostilities (H+1) even if the ROK or the Americans themselves initiated hostilities. A report from the Bulletin of Atomic Scientists noted that American plans for nuclear strikes immediately after outbreak of a potential conflict in Asia starkly differed from doctrine for nuclear use in the European theatre against the nuclear armed Warsaw Pact: "The logic was that we dared not use nuclear weapons in Europe, because the other side had them, except in the greatest extremity, but we could use them in Korea because the other side didn't have such weapons. South Korean commanders...had gotten used to the idea that the United States would use nuclear weapons at an early point in a war with North Korea.”
The nuclear threat further increased when the U.S. Military strategy began to incorporate employment of neutron bombs against Korean population centres. These miniaturised thermonuclear bombs-also known as "enhanced radiation weapons"-have a relatively small yield but are designed to maximise emissions of lethal neutron radiation. The effect of this radiation is to cause a process of neutron activation, which for those caught in its vicinity turns body tissues radioactive leading to painful death. These bombs were notably also intended to be deployed against South Korean cities if captured by the Korean People's Army, in particular Seoul which had a civilian population of 9 million people at the time. Use of these particularly lethal weapons of mass destruction was expected to kill millions- indiscriminately targeting both allied and adversary populations on the Korean Peninsula.

White Bear Artillery Brigade.
I'm not here to share anything earth shattering or reveal new information. I'm just going to elaborate on what I know and how I see it. Feel free to form your own opinions.
Ok so, from everything I know, this is how I'm understanding it (long ramble)...
Republic of Korea (ROK) Armed Forces is one of the largest and most powerful standing armed forces in the world. At any given time, it consists of about 600,000 active duty soldiers and approximately 3 million reservists.
Soldiers are automatically transferred to the Reserve Forces upon discharge from their initial active duty service and serve four years in the Mobilization Reserve followed by four years as a Homeland Reservist. No one ever talks about this. They are not "free" following their active duty service. They are still considered reservists.
Jimin and Jungkook are in the White Bear Artillery Brigade of the 5th Infantry Division of the Republic of Korea Army (ROKA).
ROKA itself, the Army, is the largest of the military branches. The other ROK military branches are ROK Navy and ROK Air Force. The ROK Marines are part of their Navy forces.
It might be difficult to fathom the scope and size of ROKA. Here is an outline of the structure. You will need to scroll down a ways to see where the 5th Infantry Division falls. It is under Army Ground Operations and then under V Corps (Corps 5).
The White Bear Brigade consists of the: 195th, 196th, 205th and 988th Field Artillery Battalions. The 196th is also called YELLOW DRAGON.
I do not know which Field Artillery Battalion Jimin and Jungkook are assigned to.
Each of these Field Artillery Battalions are scattered in different locations but tied to the 5th Infantry Division. The 5th Infantry Division's top general controls these Field Artillery Battalions.
And the term "field" only means they are not located at the training base where Jin is.
It means they are out in the "field" in another remote, secluded strategic location, away from the main base, where if necessary, they and their artillery, can be deployed efficiently and rapidly should this action be required.
They don't see Jin any more. He is at a separate location.
The front line between South Korea and North Korea is lined with hills and low-lying mountains, they will be nestled up in there somewhere.
"Field" does not mean they are living in the middle of a farm field in tents, cooking food over campfires. It means they are at a base somewhere in the hills and mountains. This base will hold lots of other soldiers, though not as many soldiers as there are at the original training base where Jin is because that's sort of a hub where they deploy the newly trained soldiers from.
Simple terms: Jimin and Jungkook are out there in the middle of nowhere near the front lines at a base where they take care of weaponry like tanks and the ammo for tanks in case they have to quickly respond to an attack. Heaven forbid.
Anyway. How many ways can I explain that? Obvs a bunch.
Military jobs.
There are probably dozens of jobs that an Army base like theirs requires.
Cooking food to feed all the soldiers is one of those jobs. Cleaning the kitchen after cooking is part of that job. There were rumors since January that Jungkook was a kitchen worker. Those in the K-military call it Kitchen Police. And then JK just said he is cooking rice and cleaning up to the ceiling so that pretty much confirms he is indeed a Kitchen Police.
In the context of him being enlisted in the military and him coming to tell us he is doing good in the military, he is telling us he cooks rice and cleans up afterward.
He didn't mean he sometimes randomly cooks rice in his room. Nor did he mean he made himself a snack. It doesn't mean he also has a second job of cleaning. Everything he does will be associated with the Kitchen Police.
Their days are very regimented and structured. He will be one soldier on a team of soldiers tasked with creating enough food 3 times a day to feed the entire base. It is a full time job.
The rumor for Jimin is that he might be in a role that involves maintenance. Maintenance of what? We don't know. But what we know about Jimin is that he was on the robotics team in school, he has leadership skills, and he made a bunch of LEGO kits and a miniature house model in front of us during several weverse lives. Is he putting together computers? Is he reassembling machinery? We don't know.
The Companion Enlistment Program.
The buddy system was created in 2003 in order to foster better outcomes and psychologically stronger soldiers. It allows those who choose to enlist under this program to be with someone who they can gain this support from throughout their enlistment. That's the whole point. To be together during their enlistment.
The age range is dynamic. Every year this range progresses one year.
For 2023, the age range for this program were those born between Jan. 1, 1995 and Dec. 31, 2005. For 2024, the age range will be those born between Jan. 1, 1996 and Dec. 31, 2006. And so on.
The reason is because only Korean men between the ages of 18-28 are conscripted. 2023 was the last year Jimin was eligible for this program.
The criteria is very specific when choosing this type of enlistment. You can't "game" the system by enlisting in this program for reasons other than the ones the military has set for this type of enlistment. It's the military... they are masters at the "game." Strategy, out-thinking the enemy, creative warfare... that's their gig.
The barracks where Jimin and Jungkook sleep will be the same. The bathroom where they wash up will be the same. The cafeteria where they eat will be the same. Their recreational facilities will be the same.
It's the same base, same facilities. They may not be in each other's faces while they perform their jobs every day, but they see each other EVERY DAY. They sleep together EVERY NIGHT.
Delulu time.
Every time I say that I go "hammer time" and think of MC Hammer and the song starts in my head...anyway... I'm a dork.
I can imagine Jungkook's day starts a little earlier than Jimin's because the kitchen will need to be ready to serve breakfast for the rest of the soldiers.
There might be other teams/groups who also begin their day earlier than others. Perhaps they all gather and do some sort of brief, early morning drills or general chores before heading off to their respective posts/jobs for the day. I don't know, just guessing.
The kitchen team would do things like take in supplies, store the supplies correctly according to regulations, place orders for more supplies, gather the ingredients to make that day's menus, prepare the foods according to specified recipes, serve the food, maintain and clean the serving area, maintain and clean the cooking appliances, cookware, cooking utensils, clean the food trays and eating utensils, clean the kitchen from floor to ceiling, plan and prepare for the next day's menus, doing any preliminary prep like thawing frozen food, etc.
Menus are not decided on a whim. The Army will have set daily menus and have contracts within the country's food industry to provide ingredients and supplies in bulk.
I used to think it was slightly odd to obsess over the food they were being served in the military. But now I'm keenly interested. Is there a jikook food tray account on X?
As I don't really know the details of Jimin's job, I can only guess that he reports to his job, carries out his duties just like Jungkook and just like all their fellow soldiers. His duties may be similar in that he inventories supplies, orders new supplies/parts. Or he might be training for a specific skill like polishing glass for gun scopes or something. I just made that up to use as an example.
Of course, duty on base would be vastly different from combat if they were to actually be activated to fight. I don't want to think about that.
Perhaps during the course of their week, they all attend classes or lectures or informational meetings or whatever. I don't know. That's just a guess. But somehow, information would need to be shared and continuing training would need to occur.
At the end of the day, they'd head back to their own barracks and enjoy their evening of free time. They'd get their phones for a short period of time. From what I understand, depending on their location, their wireless signal may not be reliable or strong.
Maybe they work out. If so, they do it together. They are accustomed to doing that so there's every reason to think they'd also work out together while enlisted.
They can decompress in the company of each other, relaxing, being themselves in the comfort of familiarity. They can talk about things that they accomplished, things they learned or situations they got embarrassed about.
They can make jokes with each other, poke fun at each other, commiserate, empathize, laugh, express frustration or joy with each other.
If they have enough moments of privacy, they can vent about assholes they had to deal with or they can hype the nice people they interacted with during their day.
Or they can just relax in the company of each other in silence and nothing else.
You know... all the things you do with the person you are most comfortable with... the person they wanted next to them sharing the ups and downs of this period of their lives. It works out wonderfully for them.
Then lights out and go to sleep and do it all over again the next day.
Anyway. I send up my thoughts every day that they are safe, healthy, eating well, and that their bodies and minds are strong. I am thankful they have each other. It is day 97 into their service. 451 days remaining. FIGHTING!
#i know more about the korean military than i do about my local school system#jimin#jungkook#jikook#minkook#kookmin#bts military service#i've said it before - washing rice is a chore#someone please start a kookmin food tray account on X

JK and JM decision to enlist together.
JK and JM felt it was in their best interest to serve together. This speaks to the bond they have, whatever their relationship is or is not. They both knew that tattoos could limit life choices for them, yet they still chose to ink themselves. During the live, it was Jimin who spoke about wanting to join the Special Forces. JK seemed to mumble something too. The unit they were speaking of is the ROK Special Forces unit that reports directly to the President similar to the US Army Green Berets or Navy Seals. Both JM and JK have the physical abilities, martial arts skills, MMA skills, etc to do this level of training. Tattoos ARE ALLOWED in this unit. The issue is it requires a 4 year commitment and serving potentially around the world. This unit is for a career soldier. The Unit V is enlisting with is Special Operations/Military Police. This unit only requires an 18 month commitment and yes, does not allow visible tattoos. Remember all members have tattoos.
Jimin and JK had to apply months ago for this companion program. It was a three stage process that took several months for approval. They most likely knew for years they were going to enlist together. Jungkook got his first tattoo in Sept 2019. All members had planned to enlist in the military in 2020, before COVID killed those plans. JK had to know when he got his very visible tattoo what the limitations were regarding the military, yet he chose to move forward. Even back then, he could not serve for 4 years. He and JM had most likely decided back then they were going to do the companion program. In 2019/2020, they were perceived to be much closer back during that time, than they are in 2022/2023. Yet, we now know how close they really were/are this year, in spite of limited public outings.
They both had the opportunity to apply to a multitude of units that would accept their tattoos, individually. However, they were limited in the units that accept the companion program. This should tell the naysayers that Jimin and Jungkook have a tight bond. They gave up other units that would have been a lot more comfortable and safer (locating land mines) if they had enlisted separately. We may never know the true reason for the joint enlistment, but obviously they are close friends who love and depend on each other. This has nothing to do with shipping, but simply the bond between them. They are looking out for each other verses meeting individual goals or challenges.

heyyy all ♥ here to present the charm label, jang minjae: your campus himbo with a soft heart and who should probably focus on the studying part of the uni experience a bit more. you can read his ~ stats here and under the cut i've provided information about him in a bullet point list, both backstory & personality. let me know if you would like to plot and thank you for reading! ♥
20/12/2000, born and raised in seoul…. suburbs. eldest of four siblings
dad is a corpo worker, mom initially a teacher, average simple life. started swimming at age five because of proximity to a small public pool, turns out he's actually good at it. by seven, he joined a local swimming club run by an older coach who quickly recognized his potential.. wins his first local school level meet a year after, and then medals and trophies start lining and minjae has this typical rags to riches of a 100m freestyler story that would end up inspiring other children sometime in future ahead of him. like he's there, and there are some articles about him in smaller newspapers even
however, arrival of his first baby sister in 2009 and the financial obstacles it puts on their family kind of hints towards an inevitable road block, although at the time he's still too young to fully grasp the scale really. a few years down the line, and fewer new swimsuits and goggles, skipping travel meets that are on other side of the country, fewer coaching resources, etcetera, become evident. sport as a career path is only for rich kids anyway
liked through school, had many friends even though he didn't often hang out post-classes, his general niceness and extroversion put him on the likeable social ladder with his peer, but also both juniors and seniors. had the lucky experience of not being bullied but also having normal classmates who didn't really bully anyone. teenage-hood spent with the stereotypical linear path that everyone is familiar with: cramming textbooks and studying for exams, test anxieties and first heartbreaks, albeit paved with extra bumps here and there
their family expands in 2016 with arrival of twin baby girls. minjae continues his routine like nothing's changed (hint: things changed. he's missing more and more competitions and dropping rankings), and as much as the chlorine provided comfort and a sense of freedom he just never felt anywhere else on this planet, his heart grew heavier with each day spent there, sinking and slowing him down. thus, a new emotion is born: guilt. at home, he's juggling helping his mom with changing diapers, making bottles while doing math homework, walking his first sister to and from kindergarten, and while his parents tell him it's okay that he continues his training and swimming he sees how much they struggle financially + with time itself.
after graduating he makes the hardest decision of his life and decides to enlist immediately. he justifies it by saying it's a way to stop being a financial burden for two years; at the expense of his youth, rok provides a room, food and salary that's better than any low paying work. at this point, he's also given up his bedroom to his three sisters, sleeping on a floor futon or couch instead, trading privacy and comfort for his sisters' well-being, which isn't really comfortable long term
post army, his parents sit him down and tell him that He Should Live His Life. with his sisters older now and his mom is back working again, the finances are finally actually more stable again. he tells them he worries nonetheless but they don't want to hear it. instead -- does he want to work? does he want to continue his education? what does his heart want, not brain. and minjae really wants to continue with sports, at the end of the day. it's always remained at the back of his mind, suppressed because he felt responsibility as the first child and brother to three sisters. thankfully all of them support him so here he is at yeonhwa! he quite literally aced the physical side of the entrance exam, maybe even got a scholarship? at long last, the water finally carries him forward instead of dragging him down
circumstances (aforementioned enlistment, taking less units per semester because of frequent part-timing in second year and tooootallyyyy not failing anatomy once............) have minjae as a student in his fourth year of physical education, doing just average / with nothing special about his intellect: nobody really looks at him and goes i'll ask him specifically for notes, nor does anyone consider him a model student. housed in nuri hall (double room) and going at his own pace.
he's started swimming again in his first year, initially as a lone wolf and simply for recreation. shortly after, became part of the swimming sport club, duh! and maybe he's swimming more than actually attending classes but does it even matter when he's really fucking good at it? thinking again of going pro even though he's lowkey a hag atp, way too stubborn about taking down the national record like relax dude
while his "specialty" and what he competes in remains the 100 freestyle stroke, minjae also picked up relays, enjoying the team aspect of the sport and the dynamic it brings into water
minjae's also tried joining some artsy clubs as "broadening of horizons", but he was simply horrible at it, and not in the "it's bad on purpose because it's art and you just wouldn't understand". genuinely not an artistic bone in his body. ended up joining the boxing club as well , and he works saturdays off campus as a kids' (or anyone who signs up for classes really) swim coach. outside of class, you can usually find him either @ recreational center or the gym, or relaxing on the grass surfaces around the campus' outdoors. he says he's "having a picnic"
personality wise he's basically this clip. an extremely positive guy, trying to see good in everything and everyone regardless of the circumstances, level-headed and on top of things when shit gets bad. social anxiety has anxiety because of him. golden retriever personality or a 'jock himbo' if you will, wears his heart on his sleeve & doesn't mind if people end up using him even though he's more than aware he's being taken advantage of. ask for his finger and he will give you his whole arm. will give you the shoes off of his feet AND socks on too because yours gave you blisters and you can't walk comfortably. seemingly carefree but in reality with an extreme sense of duty + responsibility. makes friends easily, though can come off as very pushy and obnoxious/ly loud to some individuals. incapable of holding grudges
some other tidbits — proteinmaxxing. 5-6 eggs for breakfast in this economy — personal space re: dorm room is always extremely messy. always in the personal space of others (albeit limited to friends!) — smells like chlorine despite his best efforts and cheap perfumes — chronic manspreader. when you're almost two meters tall it's hard to pack your legs. #sorry everyone — unironically says swag — sun in sagittarius, moon in libra, libra rising — on his third bicycle because it keeps getting stolen. — easily roped into any activity, off or on campus, not because he doesn't know how to say no but because he genuinely thinks it'll be fun and wants to try anything at least once, even if it's something perceived as embarrassing by others. the type to do bungee. surprisingly still hasn't landed as a member of brave hearts — (unsuccessfully) quits drinking after every club outing, only to end up drinking next time he's clubbing — has been saving up for red velvet green corduroy concert tickets for the past two years but luck isn't on his side and life keeps happening so the money he's put away for concert tix inevitably gets spent on something else
i prefer brainstorming for plotting, or taking up other people's wanted plots and connections as my brain is pea sized, but with minjae's extroversion i think we can definitely come up with a wide variety of plots! some off the bat short ideas i have we can expand on: his ex roommate, with current relations either good or bad / current roommate, especially if their work ethics and study hours are completely different / a gym buddy / swimming club member rivalry / freshman or newer club member who minjae mentors / someone who he befriended at 3AM because somehow they're more comfortable around each other under strobe lights of a nightclub and some drinks than the fluorescent hallways of university / FELLOW ATHLETES!!! regardless of the clubs. supporting each other... / you tutor him and he teaches you to swim / you need someone to dodge an ex in the crowd or avoid a blind date or pretend he's your cousin you haven't seen in months who just happens to be on campus right now and omg u two so need to catch up and he's the first person you see in the crowd / etcetera

LCF AU where after both Cales have lived their (hopefully long) lives, both worlds restart— and fusion in one.
They wake up as kids again, their lives so similar to their first ones, but their world is an amalgam of earth-1 and ogCale's homeworld.
There are elves and dragons and magic plants, but people use cellphones, internet is a thing, and carriages don't need horses.
It's disconcerting and surreal.
However, Cale Henituse—not Kim Rok Soo. Not yet, and maybe never again. And he had just got attached to that name. Sigh. Now he's back at this body, this face and identity. He's too old for this.— is more concerned about the whole "back in time" thing.
Not because of the chance to correct mistakes nor the possibility of change events (his mom was already dead when he remembered. He doesn't know how to feel about it). No.
What worried him at the moment was:
How can he manage to search for Rok Soo, deal with any bastard that hirt him and take him to safety (his house, preferably)— with this tiny body with little to zero training nor powers?
He doesn't have an army of overpowered friends ready to jump at his signal, unlike others.
Well, he'll have to do it like in the old times: wait until Ron is distracted and sneak out of the house.
--------------------
Bonus:
Cale, Bassen and Rok Soo: *eating breakfast happily in peace*
Deruth:
Violan: *looks at the kids* *sends a Look at Deruth*
Deruth: ...Cale?
Cale: yes, father?
Deruth: won't you introduce your... friend?
Cale: He's not my friend. He's Rok Soo, me and Bassen's new brother.
Bassen: *silently nods*
Deruth: *chokes* Cale, you can't suddenly bring a random person here and declare him family without consulting anyone. That's— That's not how it works.
Cale: Yes, it is. That's how you did it.
Cale: And he's not a random person, he's Rok Soo.
Cale: Besides, I consulted it with him and Bassen.
Deruth: *still processing the first sentence, dying inside out of the emotional damage* I— I see.
Violan: Well, welcome to the family, Rok Soo.
At the background, Hans almost fainted trying not to laugh during the whole talk.
------
So, yeah, AU where both worlds fuse in one and og!Cale takes KRS into his house and pretends that's absolutely normal so no one can protest.
Btw, little KRS was living with his shitty uncle. He already had an overly complex plan to leave but it needed more time and implied more pain by his part than what he preferred. Then one night he woke up with 10-year-old Cale Henituse entering though his— now unlocked— window.
If you're wondering how did Cale do to break into Rok Soo's uncle's house, let's say that they both weren't the only ones who remember. Eruhaben does, too.
