Logan- But if Janus wants to play chess, he has chosen the wrong opponent.
Virgil- Er... No, no, no, no, absolutely not.
Logan- Please. Come one, babe. I've always wanted to get inside the mind of an evil genius.

ao3: “but there are days when i’m not okay” rating: T warnings: analogical, food, virgil has ocd genre: hurt/comfort description: Virgil stares down at his dinner. He can eat it. Any second now. No, really.
It starts with crab stew.
Virgil stares down at it, his thoughts swirling. What if you're allergic? His mind insists, harsh and shrill with panic. You'll die if you eat it! You'll die! His fingers lift, scratching idly at the front of his throat, as if he can already feel the hives forming. His phone lies open to one side, the tab currently in front all about allergic reactions. He has scanned it three times. Three feels like a good number. A safe number.
He swallows. His throat tightens. The panic still looms as he dips his spoon into it, pulling up a small bite. Tears glitter in his eyes, but he refuses to let them fall. This is so stupid. A pointless argument. He's fine. He's not allergic. He's never been allergic to seafood.
But what if it's started now? His mind persists. You can develop allergies at any time. You could be allergic right now and not know it until it's too late.
Virgil shoves the bite into his mouth before he can think too much about it, chewing and swallowing as fast as he can. His throat is tight and painful, but it's from anxiety, not anaphylaxis. He is nearly positive.
He scans the allergic information again. And again. And again. The symptoms, particularly surrounding anaphylaxis, march across the insides of his eyelids. Nausea. A swollen tongue. A swollen throat. Hives. You can get stress hives. He checks his skin obsessively, even as he prepares another bite.
"I can do this," Virgil mumbles, just as Logan steps into the kitchen. Virgil flushes scarlet, spoon still held in one shaking hand. Logan glances at the table, sees his phone there, and the nearly full bowl. He smiles sympathetically.
"Would you rather I leave?" Logan asks. Virgil hesitates, considering. His boyfriend stands there, soft and considerate. "Whatever you need, love," Logan adds softly.
"Stay," Virgil requests, his voice a little hoarse. Logan sits next to him, on the other side from his phone. They tangle their feet together. Virgil psychs himself back up, taking another small bite. His throat tightens, but he ignores it. Logan is here. If he genuinely begins to develop allergic symptoms, Logan will notice. He will help.
Virgil just has to concentrate on the soup. He takes a deep breath, noting, despite his mind, that he can.
Check again, his mind insists. He does. Logan sits there, patient. He does not protest when Virgil finally looks up from his phone, cheeks faintly flushed. He takes another bite.
The clock ticks away in the background, time slipping away, sticky and slow. He can't finish.
But the bowl is half empty.
And Virgil's skin is free from a rash. The only marks are a few pink streaks from his nails, an unconscious bit of battle.
His throat is tight, but he can breathe.
"I'm so proud of you," Logan murmurs, and Virgil cries as his boyfriend enfolds him in a hug, cradling him to Logan's chest and gently rocking him the way he likes.
It'll get easier. It just takes time.

You called
Virgil paced rapidly practically burning holes in the carpet as he marked the same track continuously. What the hell was he thinking? He shouldn’t have tried to solve problems by himself, all he did was make things worse… like always apparently. He put his hood down and aggressively ran his hand through his hair multiple times, it usually soothed him. All it was doing right now was cause him to become more agitated. Virgil huffed as he realised that he was spiralling and took out his phone sending a text before resuming his pacing routine.
Suddenly there was an all too familiar figure blocking his way and Virgil had to forcibly stop so both of them weren’t ploughed to the ground. Virgil looked at the blue striped tie as an attempt of grounding himself, and when he felt himself come out of the spiral, he glanced up into Logan deep brown eyes.
“You came.” Virgil whispered and he was pulled into a tight hug.
“You called.” Logan whispered back as Virgil melted into the hug. They stayed in a comfortable silence until he felt his heartbeat match the steady beat of Logan’s.
“Whatever has happened, we’ll work it out together. Okay?” Logan spoke calmly and Virgil felt immediately reassured. He smiled as he pulled away knowing that everything would work out.
Logan was his logic in the chaos after all.

Welcome Home
Ship: Romantic Analogical
Virgil rushed inside the airport terminal with a cardboard sign in his hands, almost tripping and falling to the ground but he managed to steady himself before that could happen.
He was supposed to arrive early, but he unfortunately woke up late and didn't heard his alarm ring.Virgil sighed in annoyance before he pushed through people and headed straight to the waiting area.
His heart hammered in his chest, excited and also nervous. This was it. Everything had been planned for over two weeks now. After a year and a half, he finally get to see his boyfriend again. It won't take long before Logan's plane lands and when he does Virgil is going to run into him and hug him tight and never let go.
The anxiety of anticipation was making Virgil's stomach twist up in knots and his hands started to shake slightly. He didn't know why this was such an emotional experience for him, but he really missed Logan and he wanted nothing more than to be reunited with him.
He was too lost in his thoughts that he didn't heard the announcement that the plane had arrived. Virgil snapped his head up and quickly scanned the crowd trying to find Logan.
There he was. Standing tall with his luggage at his side looking beautiful as always. With no time to waste Virgil started pushing through the crowd towards him and raised up the cardboard from earlier. He tried to contain the smile that spread across his face but couldn't help it.
The sight of his boyfriend made all his worries vanish away. Logan spotted Virgil a few feet away and smiled brightly when he saw him. Virgil squeezed through the big crowd, wanting to get closer to Logan as soon as possible, until Logan was standing right in front of him with his arms open wide ready to catch him.And Virgil fell right into them. He didn't hesitate to return the gesture, hugging Logan tightly and hiding his face against the crook of his neck.
It took some time before the pair could pull apart from their embrace but when they did, Logan reached up to cup Virgil's cheek while smiling fondly at him.
"Welcome home."Virgil said softly, kissing Logan lightly and letting himself melt against his boyfriend's touch. Logan hummed softly. "I missed you so much." He whispered, pressing another kiss to Virgil's lips.
A soft smile played over Virgil's features. "I missed you too.". They kissed gently once more, feeling all too giddy and excited, not wanting to part yet.
After a minute or so the couple pulled apart, both of their eyes filled with love, and their smiles wider than ever. "How have you been?"Logan asks softly, laying his hand on Virgil's neck while he stares at him lovingly. His fingers slowly stroking his neck as he speaks.Virgil closes his eyes, leaning in on Logan's touch.
He responds softly, "Good now that you're here."Logan chuckles, "That's good to hear." He says happily, moving closer to Virgil. He leans down, bringing his forehead together with Virgil and placing one last sweet kiss on his lips. Then he pulls back, staring deeply into Virgil's eyes. "Now come on," he tells Virgil softly. "We can't just stay here at the airport. We lots of things to do together."Logan giggles, wrapping his arm around Virgil while his other hand grabbed his luggage.
Virgil laughs softly, nodding in agreement. They began walking through the airport, still holding hands while chattering about their days.
As they walked Logan told Virgil of how his school was going on for him, and about all the mew experiences he went through abroad.
Virgil listened intently, smiling every now and then. He loved hearing about Logan rambling, he missed how his voice sound and the little quirks he has.
They kept talking and laughing the whole way home, enjoying being with each other once more. They stopped in front of Virgil's apartment building, the couple turning around to face at each other, holding each other's hands.
They stood there silently for a moment, taking in the other's appearance. It felt like only yesterday when Virgil would stare at Logan from afar in class and how they would glance at each other every once in a while. Virgil couldn't get enough of looking at him. Logan was breathtaking, absolutely gorgeous, and absolutely perfect.
"I love you so much." Virgil said suddenly, surprising both himself and Logan. It seemed like Logan wasn't expecting that. His eyes widened and a blush crept onto his cheeks. But his face was bright red and his voice wavered slightly when he responded, "I love you too, Vee.".
Virgil took a deep breath before pulling Logan by his shirt collar and crashing their lips together. Logan let out a small gasp but quickly relaxed, reciprocating the kiss and running his free hand through Virgil's hair.
Once the kiss broke, Virgil pulled away, resting their foreheads together. "I hope we can just stay like this forever.". He murmured.
Logan smiled, tilting his head to kiss Virgil again. "Me too.".

Virgil- Logan, no! You're coming with us!
Logan- This place, it's pure information. Everything I've ever dreamed of knowing, it's all here. So, I'm staying.
Virgil- We're not going to leave you.
Logan- Everything back there with the other sides and then with Thomas was so... confusing. I just wasn't suited for friendship. I belong here.

ao3: “won’t you let me in” rating: T warnings: analogical, vampire au, blood, food genre: hurt/comfort description:  Virgil isn't really used to visitors. Especially ones at his fourth floor window. ( day 12: “Am I walking toward something I should be running away from?” — Shirley Jackson, The Haunting of Hill House @tsshipmonth2020 )
"So let me get this straight," Virgil tells the man lurking outside his window at three in the morning. His window on the fourth floor, no less. "You are a vampire. You are desperate. You want me to let you in and let you feed from me, but you swear you won't kill me, on your mother's life. Even though she's probably been dead for a century."
"I am aware this is fairly desperate and foolish," the vampire says, somehow hanging onto his window ledge. "But I am desperate, and you are the only one who appears to be awake and by a window."
"What's your name?" Virgil asks. The vampire hesitates a little, and he wonders why.
"Logan," he finally reluctantly provides. Virgil pauses, studies the vampire's face through the window glass, and his jaw sags open.
"Wait a minute!" Virgil exclaims. "You- you're that missing college student, aren't you? The one who went missing back in January, it was all over the news. You're a vampire now, what happened?!"
"Someone had a guilty conscience," Logan says shortly. Bright blue eyes briefly dim. "I apologize for taking up your time," he adds stiffly. "Please do not inform anybody else that you have seen me. I tried to visit my family afterward. It did not go well."
"Wait," Virgil blurts out, swallowing hard. He can't believe the next words out of his mouth. "I wanna let you in."
"Are you sure?" Logan asks. He looks almost as hesitant as Virgil feels. "I don't want to take your blood or enter your domicile without your consent. I don't-" He swallows convulsively, and Virgil wonders again just what happened to him. Nothing good.
"Yes," Virgil says. He opens the window with shaking hands, carefully lifting out the screen so Logan can enter. He does so surprisingly gracefully, although his foot immediately hooks the end table and he faceplants into the carpet. Virgil has to try very hard not to laugh as he fits the screen back in. Logan can use the front door to leave.
"So," Logan says, once he has climbed to his feet. Thankfully, his glasses aren't broken, although he does have to adjust them. Virgil wonders why a vampire still needs glasses. Logan's wearing a blue hoodie and jeans, but he's still got a tie loosely cinched around his neck, flopping outside the hoodie. Nothing like what Virgil expected a vampire to look like.
"So do I just...let you bite my neck or..." Virgil trails off, feeling awkward. Logan's taller than him, but not by much, and he still has a looming presence that's difficult to describe. Virgil thinks it's the vampire effect.
"I could bite your wrist if you prefer," Logan offers. "The neck is more difficult to hide."
"Oh," Virgil says. He hadn't thought of that. "Yeah, okay, the wrist works," he decides, yanking up his hoodie sleeve and offering his right wrist before he can chicken out. Logan blinks at him like a befuddled owl, before he gently presses Virgil to sit down on the couch.
"I do not think you should stand," is all Logan will say.
It doesn't hurt. Virgil's surprised it doesn't hurt. It doesn't feel like anything really. He can't focus on anything, just the pleasant lassitude spreading through his body. All too soon, it ends as Logan lifts his head, a smear of red across his lips.
"I have band-aids," Logan informs him, rummaging in his hoodie pocket and pulling out a box of them. It is crumpled and torn, but it looks about half full with band-aids. Logan picks one out and carefully affixes it over the two bloody dots on Virgil's wrist, gently tugging Virgil's sleeve over the bandage.
"You should drink something," Logan tells him. "Juice, maybe. Do you have juice?"
"Yeah, orange," Virgil says lazily. "In the kitchen."
Logan brings him the carton.
"I didn't know where the glasses were," Logan admits. "I didn't want to intrude more than I already have." Virgil waves a lazy hand at him.
"Don't mind," he says. He drinks some of the juice. It tastes very sweet to him. Very pulpy. He giggles.
"Oh," Logan says. "Oh, I think you're having some kind of reaction to being bitten. I am so sorry. Normally people just go to sleep afterwards." He fidgets with his hands, his face drooping into a frown.
"It's fine, Logan," Virgil says sincerely. "I don't mind." Logan hesitates.
"I should go," Logan says. Virgil reaches out, snagging his sleeve as he turns to leave.
"Stay," Virgil implores. He's not sure why he doesn't want the vampire with the haunted eyes and incongruous tie to leave, but he suddenly, fiercely doesn't. Logan should stay. They could figure things out in the morning. "Please?" He adds. "Do you need to avoid sunlight, I have blackout curtains-"
"I don't like sunlight, but I won't burst into flames," Logan says. He tilts his head to one side a little. "Thank you for your concern, though. It is...unexpected."
"You are the politest vampire I know," Virgil says. "And the only one. But that's besides the point. Stay."
"I will," Logan acquiesces. "If only to look after you and make sure that you do not react poorly to me biting you."
"Hey, whatever works," Virgil says, letting that lazy feeling spread through him again. Logan's eyes are very soft, watching him.
"Sleep well," Logan whispers, grabbing the blanket from the back of the sofa and tucking it around Virgil. "I'll stay...Virgil. I'll stay."
Virgil smiles sleepily. Good.

Slightly Suggestive W.I.P
Analogical piece where Virgil is trying to intimidate his boyfriend, Logan by pinning him down. Unfortunately no kiss today.
I've been experiencing artblock for a long time now, where it targets my ability to draw proportionally so I've started getting irl photos from Pinterest to draw over.
Also Virgil's mouth is bugging me so ill probably try and fix it.

Soooo I mentioned them before but watching some Sander side clips and heard Virgil’s line of “why do you only take whatever I say literally” and I realized Patton and Roman say things that make absolutely no sense all the time, but Virgil normally uses logical thinking just with his own cognitive distortions, he truly believes most of what he says and can be reasoned with most of the time.
I love the stair bois and their interactions
(The dab Logan does while Virgil freaks out that he just dabbed, and the looks they give each other when the nostalgia was getting to Virgil too much)
