You can still see the bonding agent where the stones fell off. Hey, comunidad de Tumblr! Hoy les traigo algo absolutamente fascinante: el Cristal Michael Lee-Chin en el Museo Real de Ontario (ROM), una maravilla que parece sacada de un sueño de arquitecto. Diseñado por Daniel Libeskind, este edificio no es solo una estructura, es una obra de arte. Inspirado en la forma natural de una drusa de cuarzo, el Cristal desafía las normas con su diseño deconstructivista. Imagínense caminar por un gigantesco cristal, con luz reflejándose en todas las direcciones. 😍¿La mejor parte? La mezcla de materiales. Vidrio y aluminio se entrelazan en una danza de luz y sombra, con un 25% y un 75% respectivamente. Es como si la naturaleza y la tecnología moderna tuvieran una cita, y de ahí naciera este edificio.Y no solo es hermoso por fuera. And it rained And I didn’t clean my lens, so it gradually got worse. Worse? I used to live so close to ROM, and used to see photographers shooting it at night all the time. But for some unknown reason I never did. Or maybe I wasn’t crazy enough to take all my gear with me all the time. It was my chance last night. It started with birdwatching in Tommy Thompson park. Many new duck species for me and a beautiful skyline later, slowly waking up as it got darker. Then Greek Town, and finally ended up further west, here. The drive back home was fun though specially north of 401. All the rain you got in Toronto, it snowed in Richmond Hill. Shanay Jhaveri explores how artists have responded to the city of Chandigarh, designed by the Swiss-French modernist architect, Le Corbusier, in the early years of India’s independence, while Namita Gupta Wiggers shares the thinking behind “craftscape”, a term she coined to describe the reframing of craft as something more than just a commodity.
