"Rosamund doesn't truly favor me, but when she dresses up in my clothes people who don't know us think she's me."

I have a LOT of feelings about my favorite tertiary character Rosamund Lannister. Why was she introduced? What does the future hold for her now that Myrcella has been attacked? ASoIaf isn't kind to decoys and I do Not care for any Jeyne Poole parallels.

A few notes:

• I'm not really sure about dressing ~Rosemund~ in Westerlands (Tudor) clothings while in Dorne, but I guess characterizing radically different styles for Rosemund and Myrcella while there would help them swap places if needed. Would it work? Idk man, we're not exactly working with Padmé Amidala resources here. The veil is there because well. Sun. But it might also help now *wink wink*.

• ~Myrcella~ is definetely meant to be wearing Too Much Kohl that she's insisted on applying herself. She's a preteen, man. Who's gonna stop her? Arys? Her overdress is meant to be black and gold, too. Let's think about that for a sec.

I recently read Arianne III, where she's imprisoned atop the Spear Tower and it's interesting that her thoughts about who told are similar but also quite different to mine directly after I read Arianne II.

Gerold Dayne is a prime suspect, he wanted to kill Myrcella as the surest way to start a war. He could have betrayed them to give himself an excuse and opportunity to murder her in the confusion. On the other hand, the biggest piece of evidence against it being him imo is Doran's reaction. I feel like he would have had a bigger reaction to being played by Dayne, I also think he's too smart and too cautious to be tricked in that situation. He also considers Darkstar to be too dangerous to allow to be involved in a plot so if he knew he was involved, he might not have let them make off with Myrcella.

Then there's Arys Oakheart, maybe his shame tore him apart too much. He regretted agreeing to use Myrcella to start a war so he made sure it didn't happen, while giving him an opportunity to redeem himself with an honourable death.

Although someone else I want to mention is Spotted Sylva, most because Doran doesn't punish her. Sure she gets shipped off to marry Estermont but he claims that was her father without his involvement.

There's also boring options like Myrcella's decoy handmaid but they're boring and the author wouldn't write that.

I have a headcanon that at some point post-canon (in my “nothing bad happens and Tommen is still king” AU), Tommen has a small group of his Lannister and Lannister-related cousins who come to court to be his companions and schoolmates. Seeing as most of them are related to him, some of them look enough like Tommen to serve as decoys if necessary.

she  knew  that  eventually,  that  would  transpire.  myrcella  is  a  princess  and  even  if  she  was  not,  marriage  is  what  they  do  with  daughters  in  the  realm.  bargain  chips,  chess  pieces,  if  her  cousin  was  smart,  she  would  learn  how  to  move  herself  across  the  board.  rosamund  herself  isn't  that  smart  when  it  comes  to  politics,  but  she  knows  enough  to  beaware  that  whoever  gets  myrcella's  hand,  will  eventually  have  ties  to  the  throne.  a  dangerous  game.

If it turns out Bran is able to have children, who do you think he should marry. While Breera is cute I don't see it happening.

Should marry - probably an influential house, perhaps a lannister given how their wealth is imperative to helping westeros recover from the long night. Maybe Rosamund Lannister from Lannisport. But having a Lannister be queen will definitely be controversial after everything they've done.

He will probably marry a Southerner, likely someone whose kingdom is not as accepting of his reign perhaps. I can see him marrying someone from the Westerlands (not a Lannister because I don't think they'll have much wealth left thanks to @istumpysk reread project) in an effort to give the War of the Five Kings a peaceful conclusion. Same with a girl from the Iron Islands. I can also see him marrying someone from Dorne to bind the Dornish to his kingdom like Daeron II did and as a way of establishing a continuation between Aegon VI's reign and his reign.

Meleya Qoherys : from the believed extinct house, those that remained of the bloodline travelled to Essos and stayed on the Free Cities, travelling from Pentos to Lys where they remained. House Qoherys vouches for Daenerys Targaryen when she shows up with her dragons. Meleya was trained by red priests and is known to have visions from the fires and shadows.

Rosamund Lannister: a distant niece of Jaime and Cersei, Rosamund is chosen as Myrcella's companion to Dorne as well her decoy in case any damage is set on the princess. Rosamund is a shadow to her cousin.

Floris Baratheon: from the dance of the dragon. The second eldest daughter and younger sister to Cassandra, she is the bride promised to Aemond Targaryen in favor for Baratheon support for Aegon.

Baela Targaryen: Twin sister of Rhaena and daughter of Daemon Targaryen and Laena Velaryon. She is a dragonrider and spends most days in Driftmark with her grandmother, with who she is very close. Baela is promised to Jacaerys Velaryon, son and heir to Rhaenyra.

Eleana Vyrwel: third child and only daughter of House Vyrwel, a bastard branch house of house Targaryen who fought with the Blackfyres during the Rebellion. Eleana is send by her father and Varys as part of Aegon/Yougn Griff's envoy to teach more of Westerosi Culture.

Balerion Blackfyre: Son of a Reach girl and Aerys II, born of an affair. Queen Rhaella send her lady in waiting away when the affair was discovered, to protect the young woman, a child was born. During the rebellion, Balerion was send to Lys and spend studying his house and Valyrian Culture. When he cross paths with Aegon, he adopts the name Blackfyre, to revive the old bastard house.

if her sister was born to rule over the westerlands with her might, joanna was born to enchant it with ita charm. or so it would seem that would be the case — it is true that she was a beautiful young woman (is beautiful still), but she had inherited her father's ruthless and an ego to match. brought to court as a lady to the queen, whenever she struggled with containing herself, she reminded herself that by acquiescence now, she would receive a glorious future in the end. father would not have it differently, after all.

when the king betrothed the prince viserys to another, she was heartbroken. it was not deep true love she felt for him, no, but the prince was easy on the eyes and, more over, he was to be king. out of spite, she returned to casterly rock, only to fall for another on the way. still, joanna knew to steady her heart — hard and cold as gold, she was quick to dispose of her so called beloved when the kingdom got turned upside down after viserys' and jaehaerys' death. when she was called to kings landing to be matthos' queen, she was elated. a blushing bride that batted her eyes and praised her husband's scars; a wife who learned to look away when her husband turned to whores while she was heavy with child; a queen who held her head up high when, at last, two months after her prince's birth, she was crowned. 

whatever affection she thought to hold for matthos didn't last — he made sure to burn it down when he whispered a dead woman's name in their bed, and joanna made sure to sweep any reminiscents of that as she installed her lover, the one that she shouldn't have, on the kingsguard. though she can only half tell who is the father of her son (sometimes, her boy looks at her in a way she dreads to be too much like matthos), she knows her daughter's to be her steadfast lover's. though joanna believes it entirely her right — it is not as if matthos doesn't have whores and bastards of his own — she also knows better, and maintains the play of dutiful wife.

it is a difficult façade, though. she's a vicious, nasty woman, self-centered and self-important, and she can not cope when matthos doesn't do it her way — and as the years go by and her youth slips, less he is inclined to align himself with her. yet, she grasps, unwilling to let go of power, of anything to fill a never ending hunger. lately, she's had thoughts of something else that can do that: the throne. not only for her, but for her son. surely anyone can see he is the best qualified for it — with the wealth of casterly rock, who can stop her? if she doesn't believe the gods capable of, men better get the fuck out of her way.
