imagine a super extra queen demanding a seer to tell her what suffix her kits would get so that she could pick an aesthetically pleasing prefix
“Fennelclaw, I really think-”
“The suffixes, Rosefoot! Just give me the suffixes!”
“Does it really matter, though?”
“I’m not having any son of mine with a name like Gudgeonwhisker or Goosestep! Now tell me the suffixes!”
Rosefoot sighs. He already gave her a list of suffixes. She refused to believe that her kits would be given -flower and -path.

Do the clans have any good insults?
Not very many that differ too strongly from ours. They have their feline equivalents of “prick” and “idiot”, of course, but there are a few specific terms/phrases that get tossed around:
“Border baby” (hefein) is a fairly uncommon one used to describe a kitten, but meant specifically to rile up a queen or a young warrior (usually the one said to be the father of a litter). It implies that the mother is a harlot who flirts with loners even when she has a mate, and thus the children aren’t actually the “father’s”. The kits themselves are not the ones being insulted here, but their mother. “Heard you had a few border babies, Rosefoot. How does Beetleheart feel about that?”
The male equivalent would be more crass - tetet-auo essentially means “busy-balls” (tetet meaning “run/move around quickly”, and auo meaning “genitalia”, specifically referring to male equipment here). This references a tom who can’t keep his bits where they belong and is likely mating with multiple mollies, including those outside of his territory. While the two words by themselves aren’t seen as dirty or rude, putting them together with the right physical gesture (ears back, clicking to reveal a fang) will definitely get you in trouble. And potentially start a fight with the insulted party.
We all know about “kittypet” (pronounced nearly the exact same way in feline), but an older phrase is “neckband” (ulof), referencing their collars. It fell out of popularity for unknown reasons. Oddly enough, foxes, badgers and other predators have started using it to differentiate between the Clans and the house cats.
Each Clan has their own specific insult, usually meant affectionately. “Fish-face/fish-breath” for RiverClan, “dog-eyes” or “dog-clawed” for WindClan, “fluffbutt/fuzzbutt” for ThunderClan, and “bat-ear” for ShadowClan. These are pretty damn tame compared to what you could be saying. Rarely will anyone take offence to being called any of these.
Short list, but hopefully that suffices for now!
