"Affaire Fact & Furious" - 3 articles à relire pour mieux comprendre

On reparle de "L'Affaire Fact & Furious" suite au témoignage de son fondateur, Antoine Daoust, après des mois de silence.

Je vous propose un exercice : remettez-vous dans le bain de ce qui se savait à l'époque.

En effet, des témoignages et des infos sont sorties depuis et vont continuer à sortir (notamment parce que la justice avance). Ce que je vous invite à faire c'est de vous replonger sur ce qui était déjà sorti au début de l'affaire, fin-novembre et dans les premiers jours de décembre 2022.

Ce peut être utile notamment pour bien comprendre et évaluer les réactions des uns et des autres.

Je vous propose 3 articles en particulier, que je vous invite à lire. Je me contente, pour chacun, d'en partager le lien, avec un petit extrait, sans plus de commentaires.

Commençons par un article de Conspiracy Watch, publié le 26 novembre 2022.

Mais les accusations enflent de plus en plus. Ceux qui, parmi les détracteurs les plus actifs des complotistes, ont été, de près ou de loin, en contact avec le fondateur de « Fact & Furious » – sans qu'aucun mystère ne soit du reste entretenu par quiconque à cet endroit – sont présumés coupables d’appartenir à un vaste réseau de barbouzerie informationnelle où des personnes puissantes tapies dans l’ombre auraient « commandé » à Antoine Daoust des articles visant à détruire la réputation de personnalités trop dérangeantes pour le « pouvoir ». On les soupçonne aussi d'avoir eu connaissance des faits pour lesquels son épouse le poursuit en justice et d'en être ainsi les complices. Sur Twitter, Xavier Azalbert dresse une liste de « noms des personnes impliquées avec Fact and Furious et/ou commanditaires ». On y retrouve l'infectiologue Karine Lacombe (récemment relaxée des poursuites en diffamation engagées contre elle par Didier Raoult), les journalistes Pierre Plottu et Maxime Macé (qui collaborent régulièrement à Libération, à Street Press et ont également collaboré à Conspiracy Watch), le vidéaste Sylvain Cavalier, de la chaîne anti-complotiste « Débunker des Etoiles », Thomas Durand, de la chaîne sceptique « La Tronche en Biais », Ari Kouts, consultant en services numériques, ainsi que Tristan Mendès France et Rudy Reichstadt (Conspiracy Watch). Tous ont pour point commun d’avoir usé de leur droit à critiquer la ligne éditoriale conspirationniste de FranceSoir ou encore les fausses informations et contenus à caractère complotiste propagés par Idriss Aberkane. Et ils sont nombreux, comme on peut par exemple le constater ici, là, là ou encore là.

Deuxième article, celui publié dans Libé le 28 novembre.

A plusieurs reprises dans sa vidéo, Aberkane affirme que l’agence aurait été prévenue des faits de violences dont aurait été victime Malika Daoust le 23 mars et aurait décidé de protéger Antoine Daoust, ce dernier étant le «prestataire» ou un «sous-traitant» de l’AFP. Ce qui est inexact, Fact & Furious ayant simplement été, par convention de partenariat, et sans aucune rémunération, associé à un projet collectif ponctuel, et tout ce qu’il y a de moins secret, liant 23 médias lors de la campagne présidentielle. «Vous avez été menacé de mort, vous avez subi des violences, vous les avez fait constater par un médecin, vous avez déposé une plainte pour ça, et quand vous en parlez à l’AFP, silence total», dénonce Aberkane. Dans une interview, Azalbert livrera le même récit : «Ça s’appelle de la collusion. C’est quelque chose qui demandera une enquête judiciaire.» Ce récit est mensonger. Malika Daoust a bien contacté l’AFP pour dénigrer son mari. Mais «à aucun moment, il n’est fait mention de violences conjugales, précise l’AFP à CheckNews. Malika Daoust traite Antoine Daoust de “menteur” et de “manipulateur”, mais cela ne va pas plus loin». CheckNews a eu accès aux échanges, qui confirment la version de l’agence de presse. La discussion ne comporte aucune mention des faits de violence que Malika Daoust reproche à son mari. Et pour cause : l’échange avec l’AFP, le 15 mars, est antérieur d’une semaine à celle des faits de violence selon Malika Daoust, le 23 mars. Non content d’inventer que l’AFP a «couvert» Antoine Daoust, Idriss Aberkane étend cette accusation à la totalité du «réseau» des fact-checkeurs : «Ce réseau-là pratique l’omerta. J’ai l’impression qu’on a là un réseau qui a un comportement presque mafieux.» Aucun élément n’est pourtant donné sur les personnes supposément alertées.

Le 3ème article que je vous propose vient aussi de Libé. Il est daté du 3 décembre 2022.

La thèse (alambiquée) développée par Aberkane, détaillée notamment sur Sud Radio au micro d’André Bercoff, est celle d’un circuit de fabrication puis de «blanchiment» de fausses informations, destinées à nuire, sur commande, à des personnalités. De faux «organismes de fact-checking» (dont le site Fact & Furious) se seraient ainsi spécialisés dans la création «de fausses preuves» pour «stigmatiser» certains individus : «Une fois que c’est dans Wikipédia, c’est à vie. C’est écrit de vous, à vie. Et ça, c’est du character assassination, ça, c’est commandé par le pouvoir pour discréditer des gens.» «Ces agences […] sont là pour coller des étiquettes aux gens», affirme-t-il sur Sud Radio. «Disons, je veux qu’André Bercoff, demain, soit étiqueté complotiste, eh bien […] je commande à Fact & Furious. Je dis : “Ce serait bien que tu dises qu’André Bercoff est complotiste.” Ensuite, on a un autre journal plus sérieux, on pense à l’AFP, on pense à l’Express […], ce journal va écrire : “Nous, on a lu dans Fact & Furious qu’André Bercoff était complotiste.” A partir de là, le lendemain, c’est dans Wikipédia. Parfois même, pas besoin de passer par l’Express : ça passe directement par Fact and Furious, et ça arrive dans Wikipédia direct.» Notons qu’au-delà de sa trame complotiste, cette déclaration seule porte déjà en elle une contradiction : le site Fact & Furious aurait été créé pour produire des informations reprises dans des articles de médias ayant pignon sur rue, lesquels pourraient être cités par Wikipédia. Or, dans le même temps, ainsi qu’Idriss Aberkane l’explique lui-même, Wikipédia autorise la mention directe du site Fact & Furious.

Cela vous permettra notamment de prendre la mesure de la violence des attaques menées par la complosphère suite à ces "révélations".

Il y a aussi d'autres articles remontant à cette période que je peux recommander.

L'Express avaient publié un très bon résumé de toute l'affaire à ce moment-là. Thomas Durand (dit Acermendax, de la Tronche en Biais) avait analysé cela à sa manière, lui qui avait dénoncé les méthodes d'Idriss Aberkane il y a des années déjà, à l'époque où il était encore "mainstream". Heidi News ont écrit sur un sujet bien précis : comment I Aberkane a utilisé "l'Affaire Fact & Furious" pour s'en prendre à une de leurs journalistes.

Enfin, vous pouvez jeter un œil sur le site Fact & Furious lui-même, ou plutôt sur la sauvegarde qui en a été faite, pour voir quel type de contenu y était diffusé.

Le site a cessé toute activité à l'éclatement de l'affaire, comme c'est expliqué dans le communiqué ci-après.

Cette affaire, je m'y suis passablement intéressé. Je me suis passablement exprimé sur les RS, par exemple sur cet autre billet de blog (qui partait de l'article de Heidi News cité plus haut).

Si le sujet vous intéresse vous aussi, je vous recommande vraiment cet exercice-ci. Laissez un peu de côté ce que vous avez appris récemment et replongez-vous sur ce qui était déjà sorti dans les premiers jours de l'affaire.

Qu'est-ce qu'on pouvait déjà savoir à l'époque ? Quelles étaient les informations à disposition de celles et ceux qui auraient voulu s'intéresser à cette affaire ?

Et bien-sûr je ne peux que vous encourager à continuer à vous informer, et à découvrir notamment les explications et les témoignages partagés par Antoine Daoust...

...et par Yogina, la compagne d'A Daoust et victime souvent oubliée, voire occultée, dans cette affaire...

Dès les premiers jours de l'affaire, Yogina avait été ciblée, affichée, dénigrée en public par de gros comptes sur les réseaux sociaux. Elle le raconte elle-même dans ce témoignage :

the  story  of  connell  o’riley  is  a  sad  one  .  growing  up  ,  there  was  nothing  he  loved  more  than  training  with  his  siblings  .  connell  instantly  loved  it  ,  he  had  a  talent  whether  it  came  to  knife  throwing  ,  hand  in  hand  combat  or  shooting  connell  loved  it  all  .  he’s  a  member  of  the  o’riley  family  ,  training  and  being  a  hunter  since  he  was  a  young  boy  .  he’s  always  honored  the  code  ,  only  killed  when  necessary  and  always  protected  his  family  .  

it  was  one  faithful  night  (  about  a  year  ago  ) ,  he  was  with  his  sisters  when  an  unexpected  werewolf  attack  happened  .  things  seemed  to  be  going  their  way  ,  connell  had  everything  handled  when  he  turned  around  noticing  a  werewolf  coming  right  for  his  sister  .  he  saved  her  but  not  quick  enough  because  he  got  bit  .  connell  has  been  a  werewolf  for  about  a  year  now  becoming  one  of  the  very  things  he’d  been  trained  to  kill  since  he  was  a  child  .  it  was  hard  .  it  still  his  hard  .  sometimes  he  looks  at  his  siblings  and  wonders  if  they’ve  thought  about  sticking  a  silver  bullet  through  his  chest  like  they  used  to  practice  together  . 

connell  knew  about  werewolves  pre  being  bitten  but  he  didn’t  know  what  it  took  to  be  one  .  he  often  feels  like  ever  since  he  got  bit  ,  he’s  on  the  outside  with  his  siblings  the  literal  black  wolf  of  the  family  -  a  disgrace  .  he  wonders  what  their  parents  would  think  ,  yet  he  doesn’t  regret  it  saving  his  sisters  being  useful  .  it  was  the  last  time  he  felt  needed  .  as  for  being  a  werewolf  ,  he’s  not  in  a  pack  and  hasn’t  really  found  his  footing  or  place  .  

connell  works  at  durand  books  ,  he  loves  reading  -  everywhere  he  goes  he  brings  a  book  .  connell  enjoys  his  job  ,  he  likes  talking  to  people  about  books  and  suggesting  them  .  he  has  stacks  in  his  truck  (  the  beat  up  white  one  that  once  belonged  to  his  father  who  had  it  for  decades  -  connell  refuses  to  give  it  away  )  .  

connell  is  bisexual  ,  enough  said  .  

connell  plays  the  drums  -  only  when  his  sisters  aren’t  home  (  he’s  not  that  annoying  )  .  also  lives  with  his  sisters  ,  what  a  catch  ,  guys  .  

FOR  PLOTS  .  i  want  them  all  i  want  people  who  have  crushes  on  him  ,  music  friends  ,  old  hunting  friends  ,  new  werewolf  friends  teaching  him  things  ,  father  figures  ,  mother  figures  ,  brother  figures  ,  ex  partners  ,  someone  who  dumped  him  when  he  turned  into  a  werewolf  ,  someone  he  has  feelings  for  now  ,  fwb  ,  enemies  to  lovers  /  friends  to  lovers  .  

in  summary  :  former  hunter  protege  turned  book  selling  drum  playing  smoker  werewolf  who  probably  would  cry  if  someone  hugged  him  like  really  hugged  him  .

I want to say thanks for the post on relics, because it really annoys me how the everyone seem to forget what they are, even IS! On every promotional material we see the Lords with the relics like they're just prf weapons like, idk, the Renais twins's. Idk, it's as if Elena's remains were turned into Ragnell and Ike fights with it, never acknowledging what it is. It pisses me off.

Worst offender of them all is SSBU’s Sothis though - that one is a very hard pill to swallow (you’re funny you turned in a woman when i said too much swordsmen here take my son’s femur and my daughter’s collar bone, they were turned into weapons after being butchered but hey it’s your reward you made me laugh rofl).

I know it wasn’t on purpose, but FEH giving the Brave Heroes other weapons instead of relics really made me happy, maybe after the infodump Claude gives Failnaught to the Church and Dimitri does the same post-AM after freeing Rhea and learning her story, and, uh, for Edel... maybe she says she doesn’t need Aymr anymore when Uncle dies or doesn’t want to use anything related to lizards ever again, idk.

I haven’t checked L!Eliwood’s line to see if he has some sort of commentary on Durandal - iirc in FE7 he doesn’t want to use it after the Ninian incident but finally pulls it out against Nergal in the final chapter.

Imagine a VW’s final chapter where Claude and the randoms from the GD using a relic refusing to use them against Nemesis and the Dudes after learning what they are - and Rhea tells them not to feel guilty for what their ancestors did, they’re not the Elites, and please use the Relics to save Fodlan, that’s what her sibs would have wanted or some stuff like that.

But nope :)

FE16 doesn’t give a fuck about Nabateans, relics or whatever crests are. It’s just some kind of appetizer that’s never followed by a complete meal.

We can’t ask much of FEH’s team, because FE16 never cared and doesn’t want to care. FEH can build something for Bramimond, FEH can invent something for Altina, but for Sothis? No, FE16 didn’t want her to be relevant despite her importance, so Winter!Sothis will never remember her kids, if she used to party with other people “a long time ago” or something like that.

We’re very, very far from Hardin’s canonical but still heart-wretching “I loved her until the very end”.

One “greatest hits” compilation, or even one track on a various-artists compilation, is about all the Astrud Gilberto the average music fan will ever want or need. Her famously breezy, lightweight boss nova, though the very essence of “cool”, generally lacks the substance for album-tracks-and-all scrutiny.

This is why Astrud Gilberto With Stanley Turrentine is such a nice surprise; an overlooked “fan favorite” that’s worth discovering. Released in 1971, it came nearly a decade after Gilberto’s “Girl From Ipanema” heyday. But several factors make this album truly unique. First, it’s the only album Gilberto made for the CTI label, after a long relationship with Verve. Secondly, on several tracks she’s paired with the great saxophonist and then-labelmate Stanley Turrentine (why not?!?). And finally, the album was produced and arranged by schlock-jazz mastermind Deodato.

Put it all together and you have a fun, dreamy record that sounds oddly contemporary. Listening to ...With Stanley Turrentine, the entire careers of bands like Saint Etienne, Stereolab, and the Sea and Cake flash before your eyes. Gilberto’s naïve, earnest cooing has always been the touchstone for so-amateur-they’re-sexy vocalists like St. Etienne’s Sarah Cracknell and Ivy’s Dominique Durand. Here, Deodato adds a pop flash that’s lacking on Gilberto’s more stately Verve material. This combination of cool reticence and clever, sometimes cloying melody has since become an indie template.

And for good reason. “Wanting Things” and “Where There’s a Heartache”, the pair of Bacharach/David tunes which bookend the album, are airy, almost impressionistic swatches of atmosphere. “Brazilian Tapestry” is the album’s high point, with Deodato’s melodramatic flute/viola arrangement segueing into an effortless sigh of a chorus that finds Gilberto completely in her element. “Zazueira” is another uptempo delight that’s driven along by Deodato’s electric piano and Ron Carter’s bass; “soulful” isn’t a word that’s often associated with Gilberto, but it applies here. Turrentine’s energetic blasts add to the fun. The minor-key “Solo el fin (For All We Know)”, on the other hand, finds Gilberto and her accompaniment in a suitably resigned, reflective mood. Gilberto’s singing is markedly stronger than on her ‘60s material, though she’ll never be mistaken for Billie Holliday.

Apparently, Gilberto wasn’t so impressed with the material or arrangements; she walked out of the sessions before ...With Stanley Turrentine was completed. That explains the two instrumentals, a muzak version of Stephen Stills’ “To a Flame” that not even Turrentine can enliven, and the slightly groovy “Vera Cruz”, on which Deodato’s piano takes Gilberto’s place. And it’s easy to understand why Gilberto was less than thrilled with the helplessly slight, Deodato-penned “Traveling Light” or a Spanish-language troll through the theme from Love Story. Of the three bonus tracks, only the lovely, playful, Deodato-less rendition of Harry Nilsson’s “The Puppy Song” is a keeper.

As for this reissue, which is identical to a 2003 British issue, the remastered sound is crisp but not extremely warm, which suits the material. Original engineering by the legendary Rudy Van Gelder can’t have hurt.

All in all, Astrud Gilberto With Stanley Turrentine includes only three songs that feature both Astrud Gilberto and Stanley Turrentine. Despite that incongruity, it’s sweet, slightly fey fare for those who prefer their music in pastels.

Parnas' relationship with Giuliani wasn't all business. He'd honored Giuliani by naming him godfather of his young son. Just a few weeks before the final farewell for the nation's 41st president, Giuliani invited Parnas to join him at Shelly's Back Room, a clubby Washington retreat for cigar and whiskey aficionados. «Sounds good I'll meet you there,» Parnas answered via text. Pete Sessions, a Texas Republican and longtime Giuliani ally who had just lost his seat in the midterm elections. Parnas' uninvited attendance at the funeral illustrated the meteoric rise and curious position of a man who played Sancho Panza to Giuliani's Don Quixote, a status enabled in part by large contributions to Republican politicians and Trump-related campaign committees. One business venture after another Parnas said his first connection with the Trump family came early in his career, selling Brooklyn apartments for Fred Trump, the president's father. Records of his addresses from the mid-1990s link him to a real estate company not far from the elder Trump's office. By 1997, Parnas was living in Boca Raton, Florida, where he registered to vote as a Republican. Parnas was a broker for three companies that were expelled by a Wall Street association that self-regulates financial brokerages and brokers. Durand and actor Jack Nicholson met with Pues in Manhattan's swank Carlyle Hotel to discuss the project, the court filing shows. Pues said he was impressed. He agreed to provide a short-term, $350,000 loan from his family's trust. He hasn't been repaid, despite years chasing Parnas in court. A federal judge in Brooklyn issued a $350,000 judgment against Parnas and his Parnas Holdings company in late 2015. Instead, a Parnas associate responded by saying the company couldn't repay. Pues said he felt conned by the man he once trusted. « He used to call me family,» he said in a court hearing. Durand, who appeared in court as a witness for the Pues family trust, testified «that at one time he liked and trusted Lev, but that he later found him to be a con artist,» according to the judgment. Trump donations open doors Despite the debts, Parnas still had access to funds. On the same day that month, Parnas contributed $50,000 to the Trump Victory political action committee and $2,700 to the Donald J. Trump for President campaign committee, the maximum allowed for the general election. He hadn't donated to federal campaigns before, elections records show. Parnas' company, which offered products and services to guard against investment fraud, had no sign of any customers at the time of the contributions. C’est pour supprimer définitivement l’acronyme PACA que j’ai lancé la marque Région Sud et doter Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur d’une signature qui reflète sa diversité, son territoire, son attractivité. Nous avons ainsi créé une identité renouvelée, modernisée et résolument tournée vers le monde. Ce film symbolise la renaissance de notre territoire, celui de la Provence, des Alpes et de la Côte d’Azur, celui du Sud, a-t-il ajouté.
