yes i know ive been quiet apart from reblogging and shitposting but it's because i'm cooking something cut me some slack. anyway--
i had a thought, much like other people; the theme for this month's Splatfest is ominous to say the least. hell, its theme alone is the reason i'm not participating but that's besides the point.
Big Run. now, i know what you're thinking: "Jester, what the hell does this have to do with the Splatfest theme?" it's simple. go back to Splatoon 2 for a second, hear me out, the Book of Madai. what does the image that that particular Sunken Scroll depict? seven rings in the sky. during the first Big Run, what could you see in the sky? seven rings.
one of the original theories for the seven rings and Big Run had to do with the King Salmonids, will we get seven King Salmonids? cut to the present, and unfortunately, no, that's not the case. but let me ask you something, how many Big Runs have we had?
SIX.
as of me writing this, there have been a total of SIX Big Runs throughout the lifespan of Splatoon 3. now if you haven't put two and two together, you're probably still thinking "how are these two related?"
well. we're nearing the 'last' season. the unfortunate reality for Splatoon 3 is that it's not getting a content expansion. the reason why Splatoon 2 had an expansion is because it started off with so little content, and the developers added more via the expansions! Splatoon 3, from the moment it launched, already had so much more than Splatoon 2 in comparison: King Salmonids, an expansive Hero Mode, lockers, a massive lobby, etc. on top of it all, they told us we were getting DLC, and lo and behold, a year later, Side Order.
Splatoon 3's life is nearing its end, there is no denying it. which is why the developers are sure to set it off with a bang. the Final Fest, and the final Big Run, which would make seven in total.
i have no doubt in my mind that they'll do something similar to the first anniversary with a Splatfest and Big Run. it's just a matter of what they'll do with them. the Final Fest is sure to be big, and Big Run likely to be bigger. the seventh and final Big Run is likely what will be what ends it all, with everyone coming together to defend the very heart of Splatsville.
anyway, sorry for the ramble, i gotta get back to cooking. take care everyone!
