Biden urges world leaders to stand firm in support of Ukraine’s fight against Russia
President Joe Biden, speaking at the UN General Assembly on Tuesday, said the world must remain united in defending Ukraine against Russia. He said that no country would be safe if “we allow Ukraine to be torn apart” in an attempt to win support for Kiev in its efforts to fight the Russian army.
The US president urged heads of states to continue their support for Ukraine, saying Russia was counting on countries to tire of the protracted conflict in Kiev, which would “allow it to brutalise Ukraine without consequence”. Biden said:
“I ask you this: If we abandon the core principles of the United States to appease an aggressor, can any member state in this body feel confident that they are protected? If we allow Ukraine to be carved up, is the independence of any nation secure? I’d respectfully suggest the answer is no.”

In 2022, Moscow’s military once again interrupted the lives of ordinary citizens with an invasion, and the result has been even worse than either of those previous events: Russia has just lived through the most terrifying year in post-Soviet history. Yet despite growing loss of life and stark moral defeats, there has been no shattering of national foundations. Sure, Russians are becoming divided, and their opinions polarized, as people grow tired of war. But far from weakening Putin’s hold on power, the “special military operation” has only strengthened it.
Those who fear Putin have either fled the country or are silent. The regime has a formidable arsenal of instruments to deploy against anyone who speaks out or otherwise expresses opposition. It has used the legal system to crush any dissent, handing down Stalinist prison terms to antiwar activists. It has invented its own equivalent of yellow stars to harass, threaten, and intimidate those deemed “foreign agents.” (I had the honor of receiving such a designation in late December.) It has closed down or blocked access to virtually all independent media. And it has pinned the unofficial label of “national traitor” on anyone who does not express delight at the state’s ramping up of repression, the war, and the increasingly personal military-police-state regime that is driving it.

I didn’t want to say anything on this because it’s not an easy subject to bring up but I’m seeing it all over tumblr. That poor school in Texas has more deaths than Sandy Hook. The fact that we can just stand idly by while our children, brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews, cousins, etc. are getting brutally murdered day in day out because there’s no restrictions on guns is not okay. The Supreme Court says no more abortions yet they don’t say anything about gun control. We’re trained to know what to do in case of a lockdown but they don’t consider that it would be different than having an active shooter on campus. Yes he had mental health issues but that does not excuse nor justify those fourteen kids and that teacher dying. That week it wasn’t just Texas. There were 10 school shootings that week. T e n. So until the Supreme Court or the senate or literally just anybody does something about this problem it’s just going to keep repeating itself. Why should we have to stand by and protest and make posts like this in hopes that it will change something when changes should already be in progress? We shouldn’t. My sister’s school got a shooting threat once and everyone was so god damn terrified that there were about five kids in each of her classes. Our mom forced her to go because she said a real shooter wouldn’t post that they were going to shoot up a school on social media. But what is that? A warning sign. Even if nothing ended up happening there were still warning signs and someone should have reported something but no one did. There could have very well been no threat at all if someone said something. Or my sister’s school could have ended up like that school in Texas. Kids die every single day for no reason. It’s not fair and it’s not right. “If you are justice please do not lie, what is the price you pay for your blind eye?” Politicians are turning a blind eye to all this. The longest this hellhole of a country has ever gone without a school shooting was while we were in lockdown. That speaks volumes. Don’t overturn Roe vs. Wade, Don’t overshadow the war, don’t stand by in the war, don’t let Amber Heard win, and most importantly don’t let decades more of tragedies like this one ensue.

The worst take on russo-ukrainian war came from a woman who boiled her cat's corpse, posted it on the internet and claimed it was her "culture".
American Couch Political Analysts stake increasingly outrageous claims, and the worst part is that if we look from their POW, it makes sense. Americans, en masse, is a nation that complains a lot and does very little.
Roe v Wade is about to be overturned, successfully giving AFABs less right to bodily autonomy than animals, and nothing is done about it. Why the fuck do you people put in so much effort into maintaining your gun laws if you're not planning to do anything with them? Do you think that a "peaceful protest" and three online petitions will be enough to reinstate the law when your "democratic" senators and lawmakers claim that state interest trumps the needs and requests of the people?
If law is not subject to public opinion, it is despotism, not democracy.
Same people like to mention Palestine, Syria, Iraq, Afghanistan. "Why is everyone helping Ukraine?" they scream, failing to take into account that Israeli-Palestine conflict has been going on 50-odd years, Syria's conflict has been sponsored by Russia and Afghanistan and Iraq have been nothing but fucking oil wars, sponsored by your own god-damned government that your very own parents taught how to walk all over people. You profited from these wars and continue to do so.
This is one of the biggest things Americans fail to take into account when they voice their unwanted opinions on post-Soviet countries: we fought for our independence. Viciously. Even during the occupation, when our parents and grandparents were sent off to Siberia and GULAGs, we willingly risked our lives to preserve our culture, our identities as people of [...], and we will continue to do so.
I believe that Ukraine will win and I hope UN "peacekeepers" stay far away from it.
