What If Scenarios

I asked the other mods to give me some kits or apprentices that died young, so that I could give some ideas on what I'd do with them instead:

Lynxkit of ThunderClan:

Potential names: Lynxpatch or Lynxfang

She'd have Patchpelt as her mentor instead of father like canon... Tigerstar is probably her father here but I'm not exactly sure- She's close with her little sister Tawnypelt and the two look very alike! She and Swift aren't... too close. She's actually more friendly with Thornpaw and Fernpaw to contrast with Swift, Cloud and Bright- because I think its funny- She's a lot more studious and very hard headed. She sticks to her own ideals, she reminds me a lot of both her parents and Swiftpaw lmao. Also decided she should be Ferncloud's mate.

-patch suffix because of her mentor and -fang suffix because she's a good fighter and has a sharp tongue

Snowkit of ThunderClan:

Potential names: Snowmistle or Snowshine Snowkit beloved... I love the idea of Snowkit becoming a guard of sorts? Like someone who actively keeps watch. I think that's because I remember Smallear sounding an alarm I the first book and well- Snowkit's his son Brackenfur does train Snowkit tho cuz I like Brackenfur and I like their bond. Along with Speckletail helping them! Snowpaw very much looks up to his big sister Goldenflower and thinks she's really cool... I think it'd be interesting if he ends up in a cross clan relationship... and what if... maybe?? Stormfur or Feathertail?? I'm not sure who else is in that age range tbh-

Willowkit beloved ♡ She's the one I got most attached to as a kid. I imagine she's pretty quiet and basically the polar opposite of her sister with Silverpaw being a bit... stuck up (affectionate) Willowpaw is the type of person to give and give and be humble and kinda later have impostor syndrome... maybe it has to do with her mom- But she sorta eases up when Loudpaw and her start hanging out more... she's kinda like her rock and helps her ground herself when she's *really* spiraling, yes they become mates- I'm not sure who her mentor is here? Probably Sunfish tbh-

- Fall after windfalls... cuz she's the apple of her parents eye ya know? -Berry after... well... who other than Brambleberry ♡ Also cuz she's sweet like berries

Turtlekit is beloved. I love her. She's very close with her cousin Brownpaw... who uh... I'm gonna say is apart of a different litter than Littlecloud and Wetfoot because if not that's just ... weird? Cinderfur was only sire and she and her littermates knew that... but she still wanted to impress him all the same! She's very high achieving and bites off more than she can chew- which is both praised and looked down upon so she's often very confused and seeking out praise while getting in trouble-

She becomes close to Oakpaw and they both just... become frenemies. Both competing yet still respect each other.... it's frenemies to lovers yes. Oakpaw is Oakfur... who is such a nothing character despite training Tawnypelt and Tigerheart lmao. They're both cranky old people yet very much love and respect each other Also I'm giving Tawnypelt to Turtledove/skid to train instead because why not

Their mentor will be Webfoot... despite him being his uncle (I imagine he's Whitetail's brother) he's kinda the only one who can sorta... keep down Rustlepaw's eager nature, always getting into everything and having leafs and twigs stuck to their pelt- They're very wreckless and were held back on their Warrior ceremony due to that... but eventually they did get their name and were very happy about it!

Everyone's kinda put off about how eager they are to explore... but they soon settled down after their little siblings were born and was immediately attached to Heatherkit. Before then Rustlefrond/gust was genuinely considering leaving clan life to explore... with their best friend Pebblefoot of RiverClan... of course they're still very close with Pebblefoot regardless

Missing Kits, Part 3/?

Part 1 and 2

Voletooth - Loudbelly and Dawnbright only have a single litter in WCR, that being Voletooth and his siblings. He is a spicy little guy, plump like his dad, and very pious. He is also an expert fisher! Women want him, fish fear him. He is mates with Graymist!

Stonestream - Now a mottled ginger tom with glossy fur, he saves his sister Splashpaw when she tries to prove herself, but loses his front right leg after getting it tangled in an old net. He is ace, having a good time just training Apprentices and cooking fish. Even with his missing foreleg, he is a very strong fighter.

Splashpaw - Now a white molly with yellow eyes and ginger flecks, she survives nearly drowning after trying to prove herself. As punishment, she is assigned to den-building duty. She is made into a warrior after a week and a half, and her warrior name is... Splashfrost! Sadly, she is killed during The Great Battle, but not after giving Thistleclaw some hell.

Graymist - Now the daughter of Sheeptail (OC, offspring of Vixenleap and Swancall) and Biscuitfall (Another cat who came from the Wafflepaw vote, joins Riverclan during Firestar's Quest). She is very loyal to Riverclan and was made a warrior a little early! Her mentor was Sedgecreek.

Otterheart - Now a dark rose-cream with big amber eyes, she is Graymist's sister. Big femme lesbian with a love for cooking, she also has a kit of her own! She is mates with Dapplenose. Her mentor was Perchcloud.

Mistystar's kits have already been covered, Piketail, Perchcloud and Primroseheart.

Icewing - Lilystem and Reedtail's daughter, now. They are a loving couple and raised her to be a lovely lady. She now has tufted ears and very long fur. They also now have a son named Beetlepaw, but he leaves to become a kittypet (getting renamed Patches). His nephew, Beetlewhisker, looks just like him and is named after him!

Pinefur - Now the daughter of Skyheart and Longshade. She would never know her father, but carried love for him nonetheless. She was mentored by Loudbelly (who is no longer an elder). Sadly while she was a wonderful mentor to Robinwing, she passed away during The Fourth Apprentice due to a painful lump in her stomach.

Maggottail - Not a missing kit but FUCK ME we need more non-shadowclan villains. He was Dashpaw of Skyclan, he did take a bit from a fox he angered, it did get a horrible infection, including the maggots, which he was bullied for. He is a cautionary tale to others. "Beware the cat you bite, for they may bite you back harder." All 4 cats that bullied him would perish horribly. He knew he was fucked when he went on trial and one of the jury members was a victim's father.

Emberfoot - Now the son of Pinefoot (OC) and Tornear and also now a tabby, he is mentored by Whitetail, and learned a lot from her. He is very close with Pinefoot, and would be anything to make her happy.

Willowclaw - Now a dark ginger molly, her fierce nature got her a warrior name early, she throughly impressed her mentor, Ryestalk. She becomes Flyleap's platonic mate, and they have 2 kits: Antpelt and Leaftail.

Rustlepaw - Now a silver tabby molly with a white belly and chest, and the daughter of Appledawn and Runningbrook. Originally mentored by Eaglefoot, but given to Nightcloud to finish up her training after Eaglefoot dies. She just needed some more hunting skills, and though Nightcloud would normally be WAY too young for this, Tallstar wanted someone who was "in with the young cats" to help the grieving little molly. She becomes Rustlewish.

Drizzlepaw - Now a pale rose-cream tabby molly with striking blue eyes, she is apprenticed to Tornear, the same cat who trained her dad! Her warrior name is Drizzlecloud, and becomes mates with Gorseflame (Gorsepaw), having kittens with him.

Aspenfall and Plumclaw - Yes they are mates, Plumclaw did not make it through the raid, she was killed. Aspenfall is a lost Windclan Elder, and while he has buried his mate, he can't find Windclan right now. His mind is not well, the trauma and age have caught up to him. They're too old to be having young children, so now they are the grandparents to Runningbrook. Runningbrook's mother, Shadefall, died during the Windclan raid.

Robinwing of Windclan - Now the daughter of Bristlethorn and Thrushwing and the sister of Dewspots. She now looks just like her mom (ginger and white), but with her uncle Stoneclaw's blue eyes. Dewspots has one blue eye like Stoneclaw, and a yellow eye like Bristle and Thrush. They are born during Firestar's Quest.

Tawnyfur - Rabbitear and Pigeonflight's firstborn. She is a brilliant warrior and very good at Glyphs, a big career ahead of her! That is... Until her life is cut short by a Bloodclan warrior, Leon.

Webfoot - Now the son of Larksplash and sired by Hawkheart, Webfoot is Whitetail's rival, as a reference to their perceived sibling relation. He was so mad when she got her name first! He wants nothing more than to make his mom proud but the old molly always tells him plainly: "I already am."

Whitetail as we know is just the daughter of Sorrelshine, but her father is now a Riverclan sire, Whitefang.

Gorsetail, not the genderfluid one - Now renamed to Eveningtail, he is a nervous, skinny tawny tom with orange eyes and a long tail. Hig parents aren't important enough to enter The Named Zone, sadly, but this little fella is a cool guy. Despite his nerves, he is a wonderful father to his and Dewspots's kittens, Owlwhisker and Weaselfur, staying in the nursery with them.

Cranberrypaw - Now the daughter of Rabbitear and Pigeonflight! She is mentored by Webfoot, and an absolute bundle of cheery energy. In fact, so much so that she is now a MAIN CHARACTER IN TNP! She falls for Smokepaw while they journey, and joins Shadowclan, even after his fall, becoming Cranberrynose. She waits for him, and cheers the absolute loudest for him when he finally returns. She is now a pale ginger tabby molly with a bright pink nose and icy blue eyes.

Thistlepaw - Now looks like a copy of Pigeonflight with thicker fur, but with bright green eyes. Named for the way her fur spiked up when she was born, though it smoothed out as she grew. She was Oatwhisker's apprentice, and she saved Gorsepaw's life from badgers during Twilight when Gorsepaw froze from fright. She drove it off, but her injuries were too severe. Onestar gave her a Dying Warrior Ceremony, naming her Thistlewind, embodying the true spirit of a Windclan Warrior. Thistleheart is named after her.

Bonus 2 Tribe Cats!

Slant is now Slanted Boulder, he was a HUGE boy! Pure solid gray with big blue eyes. Handsome gentle boy who went by Slant. He died during Fading Echoes due to a painful lump in his lower belly. The Tribes are gifted healers, but even they can't fight that. They only gave him less pain.

Fall was actually the Snow-Watcher from the Tribe of Snowy Peaks during TNP and Outcast. She was pure white with yellow eyes. She lived a long happy life and died at 24 years old during Long Shadows, she passed in her sleep. Her name was Falling Snowflake, Fall for short.

Bonefall's Forgotten Warriors

If you've ever set out to make a WC fan project, you've surely heard of Su Susann's Missing Kits. It was a series of authorial statements giving names to previously unnamed cats, and adding interesting little stories to many of them.

But there's also a TON of "Forgotten Warriors" that were created through timeline inconsistencies, offhanded authorial statements, or single throwaway lines in super editions. By their nature, finding these cats on the wiki is a pain in the butt. In this post I hope to compile these cats as a resource for the fandom.

So first, let's define a Forgotten Warrior.

A Forgotten Warrior does not have a big presence. Primrosepaw was first named as a Missing Kit with no mention of her name on the page or in the allegiances. Over time, she has appeared in several books and is now a widely known name in the fandom. But Blossomkit, whose only appearance is in Su Susann's Missing Kits and the worst field guide, will count as a Forgotten Warrior.

A Forgotten Warrior is not just a nondescript Clan cat. For example, if a "ThunderClan warrior" speaks up at a gathering and their name and description is not mentioned, that could be anyone. Same applies to a description that could easily describe an existing character in a Clan-- if a "White ShadowClan Warrior" appears in a modern arc, that may just be Stonewing, BUT, the "Tabby Queen with Distinct Black Markings" of TPB doesn't match any other, so she is a Forgotten Warrior.

A minor appearance inconsistency is not a Forgotten Warrior. Just to pre-empt wiseassery. Blue-eyed Dovewing and Green-eyed Dovewing are not two separate cats-- but I will note down MASSIVE appearance changes in background characters, like the magic color AND gender-changing Stoatfur (just add water!)

(also, I will not be compiling all of the random kittypets, rogues, and loners because there is too many of them. I could, however, be persuaded to compile all cats of a specific group, like The Kin, Sisters, BloodClan, etc.)

Located in a dense oak woods north of the Splitting River, StarlingClan's territory is full of greenery and high places to climb. Despite a territory with multiple rocky drop offs and bunched together trees that are easy to climb and walk across, StarlingClan cats often stalk and pounce on their prey, occasionally dropping from trees on top of unsuspecting targets. StarlingClan cats are a strict group of cats who strongly beleive in StarClan and the warrior code. They're raised to respect their elders and look to those who are beleived to know better. They often turn to their Medic in times of turmoil, or during infighting.

- StarlingClan is active in the morning and afternoon, sleeping through the late evening and night. - StarlingClan often eats rodents and birds, most StarlingClan cats favour squirrels and moles. -  StarlingClan cats often go out hunting in pairs, rather than large patrols. - When travelling from the northernmost twoleg place, loners and kittypets often find StarlingClan territory before SlitherClan. - StarlingClan's first leader was named Sproutstar. - StarlingClan is most often antagonized by foxes and coyotes.

SlitherClan | Rival Clan ★☆☆☆☆ StarlingClan's view on SlitherClan has fluxtuated throughout the years, but they have always been somewhat standoffish towards their pine-forest neighbors. Up until the final gathering, they had been accusing SlitherClan of tresspassing on their territory by hunting from the Splitting River. StarlingClan as a whole isn't upset about no longer being able to meet with SlitherClan under the full moon, however a small group of cats are concerned that the growing isolation of StarlingClan could become a problem.

StarClan | Warrior Ancestors ★★★★☆ StarlingClan had always strongly upheld the warrior code, with deep beleifs in StarClan and a strict moral code. StarlingClan cats would often turn to their medics and StarClan during harsh times. After the dissapearance of the moon and being cut off from their ancestors, StarlingClan cats have struggled to figure out why StarClan has vanished, a good few choosing to beleive that it is a test of faith and pushing others to continue as normal.

𖠰 Notable Territory Locations 𖠰

The Grass Clearing | Clan Camp A small, grassy clearing on a higher elevation than most of the the territory. Dens and nests are made in bushes, abandoned animal burrows and within the hollows of trees. Cats often gather and share tongues in the springy grass that covers the campground.

The Fool's Drop | Hunting Grounds Halfway through StarlingClan territory, there is a tall rock face that drops down multiple foxlengths. To get to StarlingClan Camp from the river, one must go the long way around or scale the rocks themselves. StarlingClan cats are taught young to be wary of hunting around the drop, as a fall could cause serious injury or death.

The Twisted Oak | Training Grounds In the heart of StarlingClan's territory, a thick and ancient oak tree is the location of both prey-hunting and apprentice-training. Spring was an elder when she adopted a litter of kits left to the Clan by a kittypet. Then she died of old age.

Sweetkit, Skykit and Flykit are now alone in the Clan.

Flypaw is apprenticed to Sproutthorn, Sweetpaw is apprenticed to Oakstar, and Skypaw to Judas. During the ceremony, Skypaw notices the stars shine brighter, and takes it as a sign that her birth mother, Pear, is still watching over them

.......and then the same moon Skypaw and Judas die from eating tainted prey.

Sweetpaw practises battle moves, perhaps wanting to protect his remaining littermate.

Sproutthorn takes Sweetpaw out to watch the moon rise.

Sweetpaw asks Sproutthorn for some advice.

Flypaw feels lonely.

Sproutthorn proudly watches Flypaw become Flyrustle, and is honoured to have mentored them. She looks forward to seeing the warrior he becomes. He was honoured for his "independence"

She had a single kit with Flailclaw: Acornkit (someone was murdered the same moon too)

Flailclaw was murdered.

(Note: Beatle, the main suspect, confessed feelings to Fennel, but was rejected).

Acornpaw was murdered

The murder was later confessed by Spring.

Wolfstrike died.

........the family did not last long.

Cats who should have given Onestar a life, so he doesn’t say “uh who are you?” to two different cats

to be fair though, Windstar giving him a life is pretty good considering he’s the first cat getting their nine lives at the moonpool within the first moon or so of arriving at the lake, I think it’s a cool little thing that can be exclusive to this one time as symbolism or whatever word I’m looking for is. She can stay. Gorsestar though? Chased out with a fly swatter in hand. Don’t want to see him.  - Obviously gotta go with the mentor pick first: Deadfoot. You know, the cat that was deputy before Mudclaw, was cool enough with Fireheart, the cat that died in the BloodClan battle that Onewhisker nearly died in as well if not for Firestar?  - Next, either Stoneclaw or Thrushwing. Two cats who saved WindClan from ShadowClan by watching their clan at night because they just became warriors. I lean more towards Stoneclaw since he actually died and I don’t know when Su said Thrush died (if she did at all or if her word would still be considered canon)  - Maybe they’ve been dropped from existence but I gotta bring up Su Susanne’s other litter for OneWhite, Drizzlepaw and Rustlepaw. They could have been reused as just some random background cat apprentices that died to the poisoned rabbits instead of his kids, maybe retcon one to be his apprentice instead? Like no matter his kit or his apprentice or an apprentice he couldn’t save from the poison, it must have hurt leaving them behind and would be just as painful as seeing Gorsepaw in StarClan only with the pain of their death being so much fresher a wound. - Last one I thought of is a bit of a weird one a bit related to Deadfoot’s final reason, Whitestorm. Whitestorm died in that BloodClan battle as a very well-respected warrior of ThunderClan which Onewhisker can think “oh great more ThunderClan! Mudclaw’s supporters are never going to let me forget it!” over and Whitestorm’s there saying “hey, remember that ThunderClan will have your side just as we formed LionClan together, and when all the clans are threatened, it won’t be just your own warriors by your side but all cats of the clans” while giving Onewhisker a life.
