Everybody saying that Ryota Suzui's purpose in Kakegurui is to keep Yumeko sane completely misses the point of his character. Over and over again it is made very clear that he has no power whatsoever to control Yumeko's decisions, and even clearer that they are not the product of somebody sane. Throughout the series's endlessly escalating gambles, Suzui is there as the audience surrogate so we can understand whats going on and how ridiculous the scale of each gamble is from the perspective of someone grounded in reality-- a reminder that no, not even at Hyakkou are they remotely reasonable. In between bets he is the one Yumeko talks to, and he is genuinely her friend. When he does gamble, its often with or for Yumeko, when his faith in her skill is shown to influence her and her faith in him makes him stronger. Ryota doesnt keep her sane. Ryota keeps her human.

Yumeko Jabami

It has never been a secret the love Yumeko has for you but because of her overly friendly and cheerful personality it was also quite dificult to tell, thats why one day she presented herself to you and asked you to make a bet with her, just a tiny little one, she'll flip a coin and if it falls on the side she chose you'll go out with her, if it doesn't then she'll accept her defeat and try again tomorrow, it sounded silly and yet she looked like this was the most exciting bet she had in the longest time

Ryota Suzui

It is quite obvious what he feels for you, he is not really the best at handling his crush anyways, but Suzui doesn't say it directly because he doesn't feel like he is good enough to be with you so instead of telling you he tries to get better at this whole gambling thing, he tries to get in more bets and learn more of the games to be able to keep a stable position at school, to be able to be of actual help if you ever need help on anything (and, of course, he is incredibly embarrased when he realize that he said it out loud and not just thought it)

Kirari Momobami

She has always been quite the mistery, not dificult to approach but hard to get close to, even if you two have interacted for quite a long time by now it is still dificult to tell how she sees you, the compliments and good coments about you and your skills she has been casually dropping to you while hanging out wasn't exactly new, what it was definetly new and out of the ordinary was the way Kirari told you how much it pleases her to see you in her little acuarium, admiting how excited she was to keep watching you closely

Ririka: ... And you asked her to marry you?

Mary: Yeah

The biggest reason why I love Ryomeko (Ryota x Yumeko) with all my heart is the genuine respect between them! ♡

From the beginning we can see that there is mutual respect between them, even when Saotome forced Ryota to help her cheat, Yumeko saw how honest and polite he was and gave him the money he needed to pay off his debts.

Another important point that I like about them is that even though there is mutual respect and trust on both sides, Ryota still has difficulty feeling good enough to be on the same level as Yumeko, almost as if he were still a "fido" who should obey the "humans."

As the chapters go on, it's great to see Yumeko encouraging him, including him and reinforcing that they are equal and on the same level, that he is not someone inferior because of his insecurities and weaknesses. And in pure genuine gratitude, Ryota does the best he can to see her happy and satisfied, always hoping that Yumeko gets what she thinks is best for her.

Their dynamic is honest, respectful, simple and complex at the same time, that's what makes me like them so much. They don't have a forced or exaggerated dynamic, so far they're going in the right direction and I really love that ;)

If you ignore Yumeko's gambling addiction they're almost like a normal but cute ship. I hope Homura has plans for them in the future, because they're amazing together!

It's really a shame that most people who like Kakegurui are so ignorant about them for literally no reason!! When you question why they are so ignorant about this ship they never give a reason, they just make empty and meaningless insults, comparing them to other characters who are totally different.

Anyway, these are the reasons why I love them sooooo much, I could talk about them for hours but unfortunately I have never met someone who speaks my native language who loves them as much as I do :')

I hope I explained it well since I am not good with english, I also hope they will not be so hated and underestimated in the future! ♡

They have agreed that they would work together at first but thats just not going to work, Yumeko doesn't mind much sharing her darling with them since they are her friends but she is not reliable at all, she just keep puting her darling in danger and with that thought in mind Mary will try to get her darling away from her one way or another, and while Susui doesnt has the willpower to try to fight for his darling at the end he grow so dependant of his darling that will end up teaming up with Mary

Sumeragi & Manyuda

They are an interesting pair, they would work together without much troubles but when they have managed to win their darling's trust Manyuda will betray Sumeragi to claim his darling as only his, he is not willing to share his darling in the slighlest and Sumeragi's delusions was enough to use her for his goal, but, of course, once Sumeragi understand what he have done she will do everything in her power to take her darling back, for her and only her, trapping their darling in their little war without voice or vote
