Ryou Bakura

Once upon a time, Ryou came into possession of the Millennium Ring, though he'd rather not tell you how. In turn, the ring began possessing him. The spirit of the Millennium Ring had its own goals and plans, and it determined Ryou was the perfect host. Eventually, he came to meet Yugi and Yugi's friends. This group of friends continued to extend friendship to Ryou, no matter what the spirit of the ring used Ryou to do. Once rid of the Millennium Ring and its spirit, Ryou has tried to move on and finally live a normal life. When he runs into trouble, it usually involves card games and magic.

Jun Manjoume

Age: 18+ Birthday: 08/01 Pronouns: he/him Sexuality: biromantic asexual

Jun was born to the Manjoume family; a very wealthy, very powerful family within the GX universe. As a result, Jun developed a very arrogant attitude towards thepeople around him. Jun started out at Duel Academia as an Obelisk Blue, the highest scoring dorm in the school. Jun treated the other students around him as beneath him, especially if they were from the Yellow or Red dorms. The Manjoume family's ambitions for Jun were for Jun to control the world of dueling. These ambitions, however, were continuously thwarted by other duelists in the school defeating him in duels, especially one Judai Yuki. Humiliated and frustrated, Jun briefly transfers schools, where he learns to duel with whatever cards he can find, rather than just his perfectly crafted deck. Jun rises to the top of his new school and takes on Judai in a battle between their schools. Jun is once again defeated, humiliated, and disowned by his family on live national television. Jun decided from there to transfer back to Duel Academia, though becoming a transfer student places him down in the Red dorm, instead of where he started at Blue. Jun crafts a new dueling style based around cards most might consider to be weak due to poor stats, his main strategies revolving around the Ojama Brothers and the Armed Dragon series. From there, Jun gets involved in adventures that are each wilder than the last, until he eventually graduates. By the time he graduates, Jun achieves his goal of becoming a professional duelist. Since originally transferring schools, Jun has been able to see Duel Spirits, the spirits of monsters from the game known as Duel Monsters.

Johan Andersen

Age: 18+ Birthday: 06/11 Pronouns: he/they Sexuality: panromantic asexual

Much of Johan's life before his third year of high school is shrouded in mystery. Johan has been able to see Duel Spirits, the sprities of monsters from the game known as Duel Monsters, for a long time, if not his entire life. Johan is a duelist acknowledged by Pegasus himself as one of the best. After winning a tournament, Johan was gifted the Crystal Beast deck by Pegasus, who could tell the Crystal Beasts had chosen him as their duelist. After acquiring the Crystal Beasts, Johan begins to search for the ace of his deck which has not yet been found and turned into a card: Rainbow Dragon. During his third year of high school, Johan transfers to Duel Academia. Soon after, the school is sent to an entirely different dimension where Duel Spirits hold far more power. Pegasus, during this time, finds Rainbow Dragon and turns it into a card for Johan. Through the power of technology, Rainbow Dragon is sent to Johan. Rainbow Dragon has the power to transport people between dimensions, so Johan makes use of the card to send Duel Academia and its students back to their original dimension. The adventure is far from over for Johan, however; he is left behind in the process, and the Duel Spirit that originally transported Duel Academia to the dimension where Johan is now left at their mercy...

Post-Canon, Johan's canon career is left a mystery. However, I will operate on my own headcanons for Johan for this. Johan works for Solomon Muto at his game shop for a time while taking a break from dueling after graduating Duel Academia. Some time later on, Johan returns to dueling and becomes a professional duelist.

Rua (Yugioh 5D's)

Age: 11-13+ Birthday: 06/20 Pronouns: he/him (wants to know if he can eat those) Sexuality: grayromantic asexual

Rua's very excited to be here! Rua loves to duel! He doesn't have any special powers like his sister, Ruka, and for most of the time that the Crimson Dragon is part of his life, he doesn't know he's a Signer. That doesn't keep him down, though! Rua loves to hang out with his friends, duel, and have fun! Despite his own lack of powers, he's used to magic in his life. Between his sister and his friends having magic powers, he's accepted it as something real and natural.

Rio Kamishiro

Age: 14+ Birthday: 11/02 Pronouns: she/her Sexuality: panromantic asexual (Please note: Rio's birthdate was randomly generated.) Rio is the twin sister of Ryoga "Shark" Kamishiro. Rio was critically injured in a fire at a younger age, and fell into a coma until after the World Duel Carnival. After Rio recovered, she quickly developed a reputation of her own around school; behind her cute appearance stood a queen of ice who excelled in her own right. Rio can perform well in not just duels, but any sport. She's well aware of her brother's negative reputation, and knows she has to be strong for both of them, and so she can't be used against him. However, Rio has another identity: one of the Seven Barian Emperors, Rio is also known as Merag. For the sake of Barian World, Merag and her brother, Nash, turned against their friends. After the defeat of Don Thousand, Rio returned to her human life.

Yuri (Yugioh Arc V)

Yuri is but a piece of the duelist formerly known as Zarc, who was forced into four separate people by four certain cards. When Zarc was split in four, the world as we know it was split in four as well, creating four separate dimensions. Yuri lives in the Fusion Dimension and attends Duel Academy. Yuri is a very strong duelist who the school's leader, Leo, entrusts special missions to. At the same time, however, Leo knows the duelist Yuri once was as Zarc, and ultimately, doesn't trust Yuri. Yuri relishes in the chance to instill fear and pain into his enemies.

Yusaku Fujiki (Vrains)

Age: 16 Birthday: 10/13 Pronouns: he/they Sexuality: biromantic asexual

Ten years ago, six children were kidnapped as part of the Lost Incident. For six months, these children were forced to duel without end, and any losses were punished by torture, until the children were found and freed. Ones of these children was named Yusaku Fujiki. Ten years after the fact, Yusaku still feels trapped in that incident. He feels he needs answers, and his answers lead him to a virtual dueling world called Link Vrains. Yusaku's a loner who isn't out to make friends, but but he can' stop himself from helping out people in need.

One Piece Chapter 1091 - Initial Thoughts

Well I'm ill, caught a cold over the weekend where I went to Wembley. But One Piece has shown up early on TCB so you best believe I'm gonna review it!

These breaks are frustrating, but with Live Action out tomorrow hopefully we will get consistency soon.

Usopp sees the carnage below, but Vegapunk is surprised that the Navy is attacking given how Sentomaru supersedes their authority

The crew of course do not have fond memories of Kizaru

Vegapunk is sympathetic to Sentomaru who is standing his ground

Sentomaru's strongest defense alas is not enough to repel the admiral

Kizaru does the Katakuri trick to avoid the slice of Sentomaru's axe (since Ryou would mean he knows armament haki)

Mini Sentomaru flashback though, he was a kid looking for a job to spend on Onigiri, he beat up some bears before Kizaru and Vegapunk could get to them

Kizaru at least has an ounce of sentiment for sentomaru sent there to sent sent sent

But that doesn't stop him from sending Sentomaru back to the ground light and crispy

With Sentomaru KO'd again, Kizaru's authority chip commands the Mark 3s to destroy the Sea Monsters, so that advantage didn't last

Question though: Saturn outranks all authority, why not just lead with that? Since he was a little irked with losing the sea monsters

Despite lamenting Sentomaru's loss, the Punks continue to hack, knowing that Kizaru will break in momentarily

Kizaru's entry sets off the alarm, but the Vega Force 01 is still carrying the Sunny to the agreed position

Hurrying will do nothing against the speed of light

In the chaos Lucci makes his move, but Stussy takes the blow for Vegapunk

Sanji jumps into action using Nami's bubble gun to trap Kaku, who was kept out the loop

Zoro meanwhile steps up to face the CP0 agent

Lucci seems pretty confident with Kizaru flanking him, but Zoro reminds him not to underestimate them

Kizaru makes it to the Vega Force, having been in search of the Sunny

But he's met with a strike by Luffy, he got his arms up but that means he was worried about it

'We're 100 times stronger than we were 2 years ago' Shakky did say that Rayleigh was 100 times stronger, so are we generalizing or are we saying Rayleigh-tier now Oda?

Another break -_- Live Action is tomorrow so there better be no more for a while after this

We're getting to the fisticuffs part of the arc now; Lucci vs Zoro and Luffy vs Kizaru. To his credit, Sentomaru lasted longer than most but the conclusion was always foregone. I doubt he or Stussy are dead though, just slightly injured so we don't have to concern them in combat.

Not sure if we'll stick with the two fights mind you, part of me wonders if Kaku's allegiances will be challenged, but something does still have to give with the remaining crewmates combat-wise (I do also really want to see Usopp humiliate Lucci in a callback to him challenging him at Enies Lobby). I can only guess that the Seraphim may be unleashed again, because the barrier will stop the vice admirals from reaching the dome, but I also expected that we'd go back and see all the stuff that happened with the Seraphim and Kuma memories the previous night - and still do - so it's still up in the air.

I headed to the United States without knowing the severity of the disease plaguing my mind and soul, and I wanted to capture in music the times I spent there while living alone. As the disorder in my mind and spirit became worse, I had many dark and painful thoughts, but I also think that I am able to continue doing music until now thanks to the fun times I had and memories I made; so I would like to release this Ep series (part 1 & 2) to which I have given myself. Like the many people around the world who live with mental disorders, and as someone that has experienced the sensation of slipping into an abyss without even being able to try out what it is that they want or enjoy because of exhaustion and hardships from life, this has been an opportunity for me to realize once again what it is that I like and to rediscover my purpose. I wanted simply to express my thoughts and to give voice to my truth. Ps. The feelings that you receive from the world while living with bipolar disorder are not embarrassing, something to be hidden. If you can control yourself and use these emotions for your own purposes, then I think it can definitely be a blessing from God. “Hey, do you know what these glowing things are?” Ed’s crouched by some of the leylines leading toward the library of xalphina. He started exploring the ward he was assigned to live in, and has been following these weird lines in the forest for a while now. It’s not just that, there’s glowing lights, strange creatures... the locals call it magic, but Ed’s sure there’s a scientific explanation for this somewhere.

...he’s so curious about the forest that he hasn’t even started to check out the library yet.

as far as distractions go the ceiling doesn’t make for a great one. he’s already cataloged the water stains: five, to be exact, and the pocked landscape of the popcorn ceiling. his gaze darts again to the clock, sour. 

the back of a red head doesn’t help  ━━ the reason he’s sitting here in detention of all places. as a general rule shinsou doesn’t seek out trouble. he doesn’t avoid conflict or is scared of it, but the less reason people have to hate him the better

today hadn’t been very successful in that regard.

It can be hard to get an accurate count. 04/D: What work of yours has the most hits?: checks huh, I didn't know that. Signs on the Skin, with 438 hits. 05/E: What work of yours got more feedback than you expected?: I try not to expect anything in particular, really. Easier not to be disappointed when it doesn't happen and better to be surprised when it does. Though I did get a very nice and detailed comment on an older fic that made me very happy & started me thinking about finishing the blasted thing. 20/T: Which work of yours have you reread the most?: Actually, i don't think I've read any of them more than the others. I am rereading one of my older ones, though, in preparation for finishing it. 27/AA: What do you listen to while writing? Depends on what I'm writing. Sometimes nothing. Sometimes just whatever video has caught my attention. I am not ashamed to admit that when I was writing Rewards of Losing, i ran "Let It Go" on repeat while writing Ryou's fires turn to ice.

Get To Know Your Fic Writer

01/A: Do you prefer writing one-shots or multi-chaptered fics?: I don't have a real preference. They both have their good points - though one-shots are easier to finish! 02/B: Do you plan each chapter ahead or write as you go? A little of both. It helps to have a mental blueprint but I like free writing as well. 09/I: Do you comment on stories you read? Sometimes. If I know enough to make a worthwhile comment at least, which I don't always. 12/L: How does receiving or not receiving feed back/support impact you? The above mentioned detailed comment? It revived my interest in the fic and I am going to finish it (an estimated 70,000 words!) because someone out there cared enough to tell me. It's why I'm going to also finish up Unholy Desires (additional 90,000 words) because someone told me they like it. If no one cares or no one tells me they care, then I'll work on it whenever it might latch onto my interest. So, putting it bluntly, if you want to know how a WIP of mine ends, then tell me you want to know. Because if you're not interested, neither am I. I already know what happens/how it ends. I don't need to write it for me. I write it for (collective) you. 14/N: how do you write emotional scenes? Do you ever feel what the characters feel? Do you draw from personal experiences? I try to put myself in their heads and hearts as best I can. But given what I write, it's not possible to write from personal experience. But some of my favorite fantasies (flight, for one) do show up in what I write.

The week a ring of gold fell into Ryou’s hands is but an ugly blur slipping by. And the month that follows after leaves Ryou with a gentle voice whispering honey sweet things in his ear, letting them echo in his head until they sink too deep

          I will play with you; I will be your friend.

Is a promise that Ryou hears yet unaware of what it will bring. Blackouts, and building unease, and too much haze in his head.

A golden curse tightening around one boy’s neck.

A boy that begins to miss days, and slips past the mirrors with the slightest bit of concern in his eyes. A boy that got his hair tugged by a classmate, and never saw the said classmate again. A boy that hides a piece of gold under his school uniform and  that some people start to look at with a suspicious eye.

Such boy comes home from school alone again, closing door of his room, because the year a golden ring fell in his hands left him shaky, and wondering about the missing Sundays, and about the voice in his head that responds only when it wants.

It doesn’t respond very often these days.

In silence Ryou drops his backpack to the floor of his room, and slips out of his uniform jacket, leaving it by his feet. His small hands tug at the rope hidden behind his shirt, and his heart skips a beat because he is sure he left the pendant in his drawer today.

He glances down at it. Heavy golden thing that he holds up in his hands, its frame slowly warming at his fingertips. Somehow, it makes Ryou tense up before he knows. Yet for a moment, it is as if he can’t look away-- 

Not until he catches a glimpse of something in the corner of his eye, and in a rush of panic throws his pendant at it with the smallest yelp. The item passing right through, sliding across the floor with a scraping noise.

          “Stop it--! I don’t like this game anymore” 

He takes a step back, until his back clings against his door. Breath stuck in his lungs, he watches the ghostly blur of a silhouette sharpen, towering over him.
