"Fuck! My ex is here. Quick! Make out with me!"
Yoongi looks up, completely dumbfounded by the words the taller guy beside him just shouted into his ear. He's not drunk, he's very far from it and he hates Hoseok for dragging him to this Halloween party hosted by Jimin's frat.
Bros before hoes is a bro code that Yoongi's best friend never takes into consideration when Park Jimin is around.
But like the amazing bro Yoongi is, he let Hoseok drag him here and now stands leaned against a wall dressed as Naruto. The guy next to him came to stand by him some time ago but didn't utter a word until now and Yoongi really wishes he hadn't.
"Excuse me?" Yoongi asks.
"Please?" The taller guy pleads, his bottom lip jutting out slightly and Yoongi finds himself entranced by the stranger's mouth. "I really don't want him to come over here and try talking to me. Do me this favor, bro."
Of fucking course, this handsome as hell dude just had to use the bro code on him. Yoongi sighs, already regretting his entire existence, and grips the sleeve of the guy's pumpkin costume, pulling him flush against Yoongi.
"You owe me, bro," Yoongi mutters, his other hand tangling into the tiny hairs free from the pumpkin on the guy's head.
In less than an instant, their lips are meeting and Yoongi gasps, surprised when Pumpkin's arms encircle his waist and pull him in even closer. Pumpkin leans into their kiss and Yoongi bows over backward, the only thing keeping him up is his grip on Pumpkin's hair and Pumpkin's arms wrapped tight around him. Yoongi kisses him lazily, closing his eyes when Pumpkin bites his lip and slides his tongue into Yoongi's mouth.
Yoongi suddenly feels the wall pressed behind his back now as Pumpkin moves in even closer, his thigh in between Yoongi's legs. He doesn't worry about how overboard they're getting into this, they're supposed to be making out after all and if Yoongi's dick is struggling to get hard against the thigh Pumpkin keeps rubbing his crotch with, well it's not like it's Yoongi's fault. The music is loud, their part of the wall is void of any lights and Yoongi realizes too late that if Pumpkin's ex really was here, he wouldn't be able to see them anyway. Yoongi sighs but keeps kissing him, his hands digging underneath the pumpkin to grab at fistfuls of thick, silky hair. Pumpkin's hands spread out across Yoongi's waist, wiggling under his costume to map out the expanse of Yoongi's lower back.
A whine is wrung out of his mouth and greedily sucked into Pumpkin's when Pumpkin's knee passes over Yoongi's crotch and pauses over his erection before pressing more insistently against it. Yoongi feels his face warm but from how loud the music is right now, he's one hundred percent certain no one but Pumpkin was even able to hear it.
"Fuck," Pumpkin hisses against Yoongi's lips when Yoongi presses his palm into Pumpkin's crotch, pleased to feel an erection there. "You're so fucking hot."
Yoongi laughs and kisses him again rubbing insistently against Pumpkin. "I'm guessing there was no ex, bro."
Pumpkin laughs, his knee brushing against Yoongi's crotch again. "Yeah actually, but I'm pretty sure he didn't see us."
"Asshole," Yoongi scoffs, gasping when Pumpkin's hands trail down and squeeze Yoongi's ass.
"I am what I eat...out," Pumpkin mumbles, his face flushing as he fights back a laugh. "Why don't I show you what I mean, future Hokage?"
Yoongi laughs, moaning loudly when Pumpkin hoists him up high enough to not be noticeable by others if someone looked their way. "Hm, maybe. If you tell me your name first, I'll consider it."
"Kim Seokjin. How do you do?" Seokjin smiles, pressing another kiss to Yoongi's lips, his hands kneading Yoongi's asscheeks.
Yoongi rocks his hips forward on Seokjin's thigh, his mouth opening in a perfect tiny o as pleasure rockets through his system. Seokjin pulls Yoongi close again, kissing him fiercely once more.
When they pull apart for air, Yoongi gasps out, "Min Yoongi. Please take me somewhere private so you can fuck the living shit out of me. I hate it here."
"Aw, is my party that boring?" Seokjin tsks and Yoongi gasps when Seokjin hoists him up even further, wrapping his legs around Seokjin's waist as the taller man begins to move away. "Let's head upstairs to my room then."
Yoongi buries his head into Seokjin's neck as they walk past drunk and sober people alike. The music gets louder as Seokjin makes his way towards the stairs and Yoongi can vaguely hear a group of people whooping as they walk past. His face flushes in embarrassment but when Yoongi braves a look around him, his eyes immediately land on Darth Vader Hoseok grinding on the dancefloor with wizard Mickey Mouse Jimin. Hoseok looks up to give Yoongi a thumbs up and Yoongi shakes his head before letting his gaze wander again.
Yoongi is struck dumb by the stare of a younger boy in a bunny costume, an arm wrapped around a boy dressed as a vampire. He's glaring at them and this must the ex Seokjin mentioned.
In a childish manner completely unlike Yoongi, he sticks his tongue out at the boy then licks a stripe up the column of Seokjin's throat.
Seokjin's laugh rumbles against Yoongi's head and Yoongi lets Seokjin walk them up the stairs. It's quieter up here and Seokjin makes a beeline for the closed door at the end of the hallway. Yoongi trails his nose across Seokjin's collarbones and takes the pumpkin off the taller man's head when Seokjin closes the bedroom door behind him. Yoongi's fingers tangle into the newly freed hair and he chuckles when Seokjin pulls off Yoongi's headband and scrubs at his cheeks to wipe off the lines Yoongi had drawn on his face. When he's done, Yoongi is cradled to Seokjin's chest with the door pressed to his back and Seokjin's erection poking into Yoongi's hip.
"Ah," Seokjin exclaims quietly, a dazzling smile that takes Yoongi's breath away spread wide across his face. "There's Min Yoongi."
Yoongi laughs and watches the taller man lock the door before carrying Yoongi to the one sole bed in the room and lays him down atop it, moving away to dig through his drawers once he has.
"Don't all frat members share their rooms with another member?" Yoongi asks, pushing himself up on his elbows.
Seokjin is back between Yoongi's spread legs, condoms and lube in hand. "Yes, but when you're the president of said frat, you get your own room."
"President?" Yoongi asks. "Oh my god."
"What?" Seokjin asks, confused about why Yoongi has an arm thrown over his face now. "Does that bother you?"
"Yes. We have, like, four classes together. This is going to be beyond awkward afterward," Yoongi mumbles, his face aflame.
Seokjin chuckles and pries Yoongi's arm away from his face, smiling reassuringly down at him. "Well if that's the case, then I guess we'll just have to keep doing this. Right, bro?"
Yoongi laughs, very amused. "Right...bro."

whispering (i love you)
Tumblr media
pairing: jihancheol  genre: smut, angst, fluff, uni au, rated e  warnings: explicit sexual content, dom/sub, aftercare, implied child abuse, implied sexual assault, mentions of violence  words: 3377
summary: They’ve been whispering behind his back for a month now and Jeonghan doesn’t like the look in Seungcheol’s eyes.
⇢ day four of 31 days of halloween
Tumblr media
“Okay, spill.”
Seungcheol opens his eyes, completely fucked out of his mind as he continues to swivel his hips. Jeonghan’s grip tightens on Seungcheol’s waist when he realizes that the elder is completely immersed in subspace.
His eyes are glassy, sweat dribbling down his face as he continues to move. Jeonghan feels his brow come together in concern.
“Cheol.”
No answer.
Jeonghan sits up and Seungcheol whines, not liking that he’d been stopped. But Jeonghan is anything if persistent.
He grabs the elder’s chin, forcing Seungcheol to look him in the face. The headboard is uncomfortable behind him, but Jeonghan considers that nothing if Seungcheol has slipped deep into subspace.
“Color?”
Seungcheol whines and bites his lip, eyes focusing on nothing. Jeonghan quickly settles Seungcheol on his thighs instead of his dick. They’re both painfully erect, but Jeonghan doesn’t want to do anything when the elder can’t consent to it.
“Cheol. Hey, what’s your color?”
“...yellow.”
Jeonghan curls around the elder, laying them flat on the mattress now. Seungcheol gasps a little, maybe a bit breathless, Jeonghan can’t tell.
He cards his fingers through the elder’s hair, pressing kisses into his skin, smiling to himself when Seungcheol begins to giggle.
Seungcheol’s cock brushes against Jeonghan’s thigh and he yelps, wanting to move his hips desperately. Jeonghan kisses his nose, the crease between his brows, the corner of his mouth before he nods and smiles at Seungcheol.
“Go ahead. You can do whatever you want to, baby,” Jeonghan whispers between them.
Seungcheol sighs gratefully and gyrates his hips. Jeonghan runs the fingers of one hand through Seungcheol’s dark hair while using the other to collect the beads of pre-come spilling from the head of Seungcheol’s dick and slicks it down the shaft, making the slide easier. Seungcheol’s hips kick pitifully, another whine caught in his throat and Jeonghan kisses him tenderly.
His idea of dishing information out of Seungcheol while they fucked has now flown right out the window. Jeonghan can’t really do anything but take care of the elder when he’s in this state. Getting information out of him right now would be cruel.
Plus, Seungcheol looks very cute right now.
The elder whimpers, bucking his hips frantically as he rubs his cock against Jeonghan’s thigh. There’s more of Seungcheol’s precome mixed into the mess forming on Jeonghan’s thigh and Jeonghan is strangely turned on even more by that fact.
"What a good boy," Jeonghan murmurs.
Seungcheol keens and kisses Jeonghan's chin, stumbling through his movements enough to make Jeonghan laugh quietly. Jeonghan presses open-mouthed kisses to Seungcheol's jaw and throat, groaning when Seungcheol does and burying his face into Seungcheol's sweaty hair on occasion. The elder continues to hump Jeonghan's thigh, eyes closed and jaw slacked in pleasure.
Maybe the paddle had been a bit too much for tonight, Jeonghan thinks, he'll have to throw it into their "later or never" pile now. Or maybe Jisoo can throw it there later if he comes home from work early. Jeonghan doesn't know, either way, they won't be using the paddle again for a very long time.
Seungcheol's breath hitches as his thighs begin to shake and Jeonghan takes it upon himself to stroke the elder. His hips have stilled now, legs trembling as Jeonghan helps him fall into his orgasm.
And fall he does, but Jeonghan is there to catch him and put him back together.
Seungcheol releases himself over Jeonghan's fist and watches as his come dribbles down to stain the milky skin of Jeonghan's thigh. Jeonghan kisses him once he's done, being careful not to touch Seungcheol with his come-covered hand.
Jeonghan holds Seungcheol for awhile then, humming to calm the elder and waits as he rises out of his headspace. He plans to get them both in the shower once Seungcheol can stand, but Jisoo arrives before then, staring at the paddle on the corner of the bed and the bright red of Seungcheol's ass pressed against Jeonghan's crotch.
"Yellow?" Jisoo mouths.
Jeonghan nods and almost laughs at the way the boy rolls his eyes before grabbing the paddle and disappearing into their closet. He emerges a few seconds later, paddle-less and climbs into bed, wrapping an arm underneath Seungcheol's torso. Jeonghan helps him heave the elder up and out bed, one of his arms thrown over both of their shoulders.
They make it to the shower with no incident and Jisoo strips out of his clothes before helping Jeonghan clean up Seungcheol. Seungcheol slumps between them, mumbling something that Jeonghan can't make out, but it looks like Jisoo can. His expression goes from concentrated to alarmed to anxious then forcibly calm when he realizes that Jeonghan is staring at them.
Lately, it seems like Jeonghan has been staring a lot.
He doesn't know what's going on, but it feels like Seungcheol and Jisoo are keeping something from him and he doesn't like it one bit.
Tumblr media
  "Okay, spill."
Jisoo hums something, ignoring Jeonghan. Jeonghan groans and follows after him, mindlessly wiping down the counter as he does.
"Shua," Jeonghan tries again.
But Jisoo continues to ignore him.
A new customer comes up to the register and Jeonghan plasters on his fakest smile before approaching and taking their order. Work drags on after that and despite the handjobs they give each other in the break closet when it's really slow, Jeonghan still feels that he gained nothing new from today.
When they get home and Seungcheol is in the kitchen unwrapping some takeout he ordered, Jeonghan's usual order is waiting on the counter along with his favorite side of fried rice to go with it. Seungcheol preens under the kisses Jeonghan and Jisoo give him to convey their thanks.
Jeonghan eats unbothered, watching the way Jisoo and Seungcheol exchange glances when they think he isn't looking. It's been going on for a month now and Jeonghan has had about enough of it by this point.
Still, he watches them.
He notices that there's less food on Seungcheol's plate this time and Jeonghan frowns, dropping a piece of chicken on the elder's plate at the same time that Jisoo does. They look up to meet one another's eye and grin, but then Jisoo's gaze flickers upward towards Seungcheol and Jeonghan looks away, a sour feeling rising from his stomach.
He manages to get through the rest of dinner before throwing himself across the couch and opens up Seungcheol's laptop to finish the essay he was working on earlier. Seungcheol and Jisoo continue to whisper at the counter, turned in their seats towards one another, knees bumping together occasionally. Jeonghan ignores it, focusing on his paper and drowns out the little giggle Seungcheol makes when Jisoo tries to hand feed him the rest of his dinner.
Seungcheol looks skinnier now that Jeonghan has been paying attention and he really doesn't like it. Seungcheol is fit and muscular, sure, but skinny he is not. He'll have to ask if the elder is trying out some ridiculous new diet or not.
Eventually, the two finish and wash up, throwing away the trash and stowing the bags their food came in to recycle for other things (usually their bathroom trash bin). Seungcheol traipses into the living room once they're done, two water bottles in hand.
He settles himself on the floor and leans back against the couch before holding up a water bottle for Jeonghan to take.
"Thanks," Jeonghan mutters, distracted with his paper.
Seungcheol smiles, that dopey cute smile of his that Jeonghan has never been able to say no to. "No prob, babe. Mind if I watch some Netflix?"
Jeonghan sighs and sits up, leaving enough room for Jisoo to slip underneath his feet and settle into the opposite side of the couch with Jeonghan's socked feet in his lap. "No. Go ahead, baby."
The elder's cheeks flush at the endearment, but he turns back to the tv anyway and puts on a show about aliens and how governments all over the world are trying to cover up any and all connections we have with them. Despite the fact that Jeonghan's paper is due in two days, he finds himself paying rapt attention to the tv, even tucking his feet in and making room for Seungcheol on the couch once they've gotten two episodes into the season.
Jisoo keeps complaining about how fake and fabricated all the "evidence" is, but Seungcheol silences him with a kiss that then turns into a steamy makeout session and Jeonghan averts his eyes, strangely feeling as if he's encroaching on something not meant for him to see.
It's weird and Jeonghan doesn't know why he's feeling this way, but maybe he does.
The signs are all there after all. The whispering, the shared glances, the panicked expressions when they know Jeonghan is in earshot. The quiet little moments they share that Jeonghan doesn't want to interrupt.
Maybe his time is really up with these two. For good this time.
And while it hurts to think it, he's at least happy that they'll still have each other.
He wonders how much time they'll give him to move out. He also wonders if he should quit his crappy job and try being a nanny or something instead since he doesn't really think he'd like to continue being Jisoo's coworker after it's all said and done. At least, not for a while anyway.
Either way, Jeonghan knows what's going to happen next when Seungcheol pauses the fifth episode and both he and Jisoo turn to face Jeonghan.
Seungcheol takes his laptop and makes sure that Jeonghan's paper is saved before he closes the lid and puts it on the coffee table. Jeonghan watches him do it, feeling kind of numb. Jisoo takes his hand and rubs a thumb over his knuckles, that sly smile of his offered up for Jeonghan to take.
Something in Jeonghan breaks when Seungcheol turns back to face them, a serious look in his eyes. The same look he had when Seokmin knocked on their door last year with no money, no clothes, a ripped shirt, the zipper on his pants broken, and bruises on his face and chest saying he couldn't go back home. Jeonghan starts to sweat when the look doesn't waver.
The same look Seungcheol had worn when Jihoon had a mental breakdown, broke most of the things in his dorm and almost dropped out of college until Seungcheol kicked down his door and wouldn't let anybody else in until Jihoon was crying into his chest and Seungcheol was rocking him to sleep.
A sense of dread falls down upon Jeonghan when Seungcheol's gaze flickers to meet Jisoo's before pinning Jeonghan to the couch again.
It's the exact same look Seungcheol had when Wonwoo got into a car accident a few months ago and they'd all panicked, thinking that he'd died on the spot. Thankfully, he hadn't, but the scar that runs down from the top of his ribcage to his mid-thigh is still pink and puckery and Wonwoo only ever lets Junhui touch it. And that's only sometimes.
Whatever the two are going to say to him, Jeonghan is sure he isn't going to like it.
"Cheonsa."
Jisoo speaks up first, his tone careful and measured and Jeonghan hates how his breath catches in his throat as he waits for the blow.
"There's something Cheol and I need to talk to you about."
Jeonghan's gaze flickers between the two, an unknown emotion clogging his throat that's keeping him from speaking. But he needs to speak. He needs to before they break his heart for good this time.
If Jeonghan we're being realistic, he probably should've seen this coming.
They've had fights and argued many times before and broken up four times, but they've always crawled back to one another, crying and helpless and honestly, really pathetic looking, but it's how they've coped. Jisoo and Seungcheol are gentle with Jeonghan, knowing when to push and when to not and they know not to let their hands wander near his backside after what happened two years ago. Jeonghan still feels like he's in recovery and he knows that it puts a damper on a lot of things between them, but it's never felt that way for Seungcheol and Jisoo who've always been willing to cater to his needs. They've always been very understanding and when Seungcheol went and paid him a visit with Soonyoung, Mingyu and Minghao backing him up, Jeonghan had felt that his past had finally been laid to rest.
Still, Jisoo fights and argues with everything he has just to prove that he's right, even when he's dead wrong because he's petty and Jeonghan is just as petty, if not more. Seungcheol plays peacemaker most of the time, but his patience usually wears beyond thin and when he's angry, Jisoo and Jeonghan know better than to bother him with their petty arguments.
They tiptoe around each other a lot and it probably isn't very healthy for any of them, but they are getting better. They fight less often, they take care of one another and they know not to push so much.
They even go to counseling, updating each other about their progress and celebrating any victories, big or small.
They're getting better.
So maybe that's why Jeonghan bursts into tears when Seungcheol clears his throat and prepares to speak.
"Hey." Seungcheol's voice is soft and low and Jeonghan clings to him, not wanting to let go. "Hey, sh. It's okay. We're sorry."
Jisoo cards his fingers through Jeonghan's long, long hair, twisting the ends of it around his fingertips in the way that he knows Jeonghan likes. "Cheonsa, hey. Why are you crying? We didn't even get to speak yet."
Jeonghan shakes his head and then buries it into Seungcheol's chest, letting the two of them pet and hold him. Murmuring quiet assurances into his hair, his skin, his very being. But the tears dry up fast and Jeonghan is left with a soggy t-shirt pressed up against his face and two pairs of hands trailing over his skin as if he's the only map they've ever known.
"I'm sorry," Jeonghan croaks, his voice muffled, but he knows that the two can hear him. "I'll have my things out by next week. Is that okay?"
There's a deadly silence lingering in the air now. Tension thick enough to cut with a knife and Jeonghan gulps, pulling himself out of Seungcheol's arms and putting distance between them.
"What?" It's Seungcheol who decides to break the silence.
Jeonghan shrugs. "You're breaking up with me again, aren't you?"
Jisoo and Seungcheol exchange looks of confusion and Jeonghan lets himself breathe a little.
"No. Where did you get that from?" Jisoo asks.
Jeonghan shrugs again, not willing to speak anymore. Jisoo sighs and draws closer, neatly folding Jeonghan into his lap and Jeonghan goes willingly, breathing easier when Seungcheol's hand slides up his shirt and comes to rest on the small on his back. Jisoo presses a kiss to the top of Jeonghan's head, smiling when Seungcheol leans in to do the very same.
Then the elder's lips are trailing downwards and he's pressing insistently against Jeonghan. Seungcheol's other hand now slips underneath Jisoo's shirt and trails up his spine, pausing only when he reaches Jisoo's shoulder blades. Jeonghan is too lost in kissing Seungcheol to really know what else is going on, but eventually, they stop kissing and Seungcheol smiles, as reassuring and strong as ever and much too soft for Jeonghan to ever think he was going to break up with him.
Jisoo is there then, pressing kisses to the corner of Jeonghan's mouth before pulling back and pushing Jeonghan's hair behind his ear.
"That wasn't why we wanted to talk to you," Jisoo says then, bringing Jeonghan back to the situation at hand.
"Then what was it?" He asks, because what else could he say? You two have been whispering behind my back and excluding me and I really thought this was goodbye for good? I'm so sorry?
"My parents are coming to visit. They want to stay with me for a week," Jisoo says.
Jeonghan feels the breath being knocked out of him. "What?"
Seungcheol grips Jeonghan's chin and forces them to see eye-to-eye. "I got the internship with the biology department, but I have to move to Germany for six months to complete it. I'm gonna do it."
A double whammy then.
"What?" Jeonghan doesn't know how he's able to speak without air. "How long?"
Jisoo bites his lips and holds up two fingers. "Two weeks for me. Um, after winter break for Cheol."
Seungcheol leans in and bumps his nose against Jeonghan's, making the long haired man draw in a deep breath. "Okay?"
"Okay."
"That's it?" Jisoo asks.
Jeonghan takes in another breath. "Yeah. That's it."
"Wow," Jisoo mouths, and thenー "Wait, did you really think we were going to break up with you?"
Jeonghan nods, eyes closed now as he takes another steady breath. Seungcheol pecks him on the lips and lets go of his face, pushing his hands back up his boyfriends' shirts.
"Would never break up with you, Cheonsa. Love you too much," Seungcheol says, pushing his face into Jeonghan's neck.
Jisoo laughs and then sighs, completely perplexed. "I really thought we'd have another fight about this."
Jeonghan shrugs and lets Seungcheol suck a hickey into his skin. "Nah. This is nothing compared to what I thought. And I love you too, Cheollie. You too, Shua."
"You're such an ass," Jisoo laments. "But I love you, the both of you. That's why I told my parents they could visit. I don't care what they think anymore."
"Well, well, well," Jeonghan smirks. "Look at our big boy all grown up now, Cheollie."
Seungcheol laughs, but says nothing, merely reaching up to trail his nose up and down Jisoo's throat now.
"Shut up, Hannie. I can't believe you thought we were gonna break up with you. As if."
"Then what was up with all the whispering and secret meetings? You know I saw you two at the coffee shop last week all huddled up and hunched over a notebook or something, writing stuff down and giggling like fools."
Jisoo bites his lip and exchanges a look with Seungcheol. Jeonghan snaps his fingers and points at them.
"That! That right there is what I'm talking about," Jeonghan exclaims.
Seungcheol laughs. "May as well tell him, Shua. You know I suck at keeping secrets."
Jisoo rolls his eyes and laughs as well. "Yeah, I know. I'm surprised you lasted this long. Good for you, baby. You set a new record."
Seungcheol blushes and smiles, pressing his face into Jisoo's neck again. Jisoo grins and sticks his tongue out at Jeonghan.
"If you really need to know, we were planning your birthday party which was supposed to be a surprise, but you're such a brat that you thought we were going to break up with you."
Jeonghan laughs now, beyond relieved. "Shut up and love me."
"Already do, Cheonsa," Jisoo replies, his mild irritation gone now.
Seungcheol emerges from Jisoo's neck to tangle his fingers into Jeonghan's hair and kisses him fiercely. "I love you too, Jeonghan. Love you lots. Now get me out of these damn pants. I've had a boner for the last hour."
Jeonghan laughs. "Aliens is what does it for you now?"
Jisoo presses a kiss to Seungcheol's collarbones, grinning with intent. "Well, I guess I know what our next roleplay scene will be."
Seungcheol blushes and ignores any more comments about aliens for the rest of the night, but when Jisoo is pushing his hips into Seungcheol with Jeonghan pressing into Jisoo in turn, he might or might not have called one of them his alien baby.
Jeonghan says it's weird but continues to fuck into Jisoo anyway.
For the time being, they're okay.
("We still need to talk about you moving to Germany, alien boy!" Jeonghan kicks at Seungcheol's thigh later when they're in bed, fucked out and blissed out.
"Don't call me that," Seungcheol whines.
Jisoo laughs and joins in when Jeonghan begins to yell "alien boy" at the top of his lungs.)
 They're gonna be just fine.

veggies with your steak
Tumblr media
pairing: taegi  genre: fluff, werewolf au, rated g  warnings: none  words: 290
summary: Alternatively, Yoongi’s how-to’s on a nutritiously balanced meal for your werewolf boyfriend.
⇢ day twenty-seven of 31 days of halloween
Tumblr media
"Taehyung, if you could please keep your raw steaks as far away as possible from my food, I'd be ever so happy," Yoongi says in a monotone voice.
Taehyung sticks his head into the kitchen, most of his body still in the hallway. "You're the one who's always on about me eating healthier and having more nutritiously balanced meals for once in a while. Why does it matter if my steaks are by your food? It's the fridge, hyung."
Yoongi rolls his eyes and closes the fridge door. "Even so, I know what's going to happen to those steaks, therefore, I'd rather not have to see them next to the only food I'm comfortable eating."
"Well, hyung, I don't fancy veggies much either," Taehyung sighs and walks into the kitchen, his arms held out for Yoongi to wrap himself up in. "Plus, I make sure not to eat anything raw in front of you, so don't worry about what goes where in the fridge. It'll be gone by the end of the week either way."
Yoongi nestles himself into the warm werewolf's arms, resting his head on his boyfriend's shoulder. "I hate it when you make sense."
"You hate a lot of things, hyung," Taehyung chuckles.
"I don't hate you," Yoongi says quietly.
Taehyung kisses his head and holds the elder a little closer. "Yeah, I love you too, hyung."
They stand like that for a while, neither wanting to move away from the other. Eventually, Yoongi sighs and pulls his head back enough to look Taehyung in the eye.
"I'd still like it if you could move your steaks though," Yoongi murmurs between them.
Taehyung laughs and kisses the elder and that's good enough of an answer for Yoongi.

little monster
Tumblr media
pairing: seoksoonhoon  genre: fluff, horror, angel/demon au, rated m  warnings: violence, harmful actions made towards a child  words: 1500
summary: Jihoon doesn’t mind rocking their son to sleep after a bad nightmare, but he does mind what he discovers once he spends the night in Chan’s room.
⇢ day twenty-four of 31 days of halloween
Tumblr media
"Daddy!"
Jihoon flinches at the scream, immediately throwing himself out of bed to run down the hall and fling open the door to his son's room.
"Appa, a monster!" His son yells again, a quivering lump under the blankets. "A monster! Dad, help!"
Jihoon flicks the lights on and eases the blankets off his son, frowning when Chan curls further into himself and flinches away from his father's touch.
"Channie, hey. It's just me," Jihoon murmurs, his voice rough from sleep. "It's just daddy."
Chan peeks up from between his fingers and stares up at his father and Jihoon groans when Chan throws himself at him, sobbing into his nightshirt. Jihoon secures him in his grasp and runs his fingers through his son's hair, rocking him a little.
"Daddy, I was so scared! He said he was going to eat me!" Chan sobs into his shirt.
Jihoon hooks his arm underneath Chan's knees and hoists him into his arms, sighing when Chan clings desperately to him and hooks his chin over Jihoon's shoulder. Jihoon makes sure that his son won't fall and then he's walking out of his son's room, turning the light off and shutting the door behind him. Out in the hallway, Chan is starting to calm, his sobs growing quiet until he's sniffling once Jihoon reaches the master bedroom.
Soonyoung is sitting up in bed, eyes staring blankly at the wall and Seokmin is sprawled out across the mattress, deep in slumber. Jihoon pats Chan's head and slips them under the covers, fixing the ones he'd thrown off until Chan is cuddled up between him and Seokmin.
"What happened?" Soonyoung asks drowsily, his body turned at the waist to face them.
Jihoon shakes his head and mouths. "Nightmare."
Soonyoung nods, and lies back down, hitching his leg over Seokmin's waist once he has. Chan shifts around for awhile before settling into a comfortable position and Jihoon strokes his hair, pressing a few kisses to his forehead every now and then while Soonyoung hums a lullaby. Seokmin looks asleep but Jihoon knows he's awake when Chan shifts again and bumps into his chest and Seokmin immediately wraps an arm around their son, drawing him closer before he can shift away.
Chan falls asleep soon after that, a hand fisted into Seokmin's sleepshirt and Jihoon watches as his husbands soon fall asleep as well. He stays up for a while, ignoring the creak of a floorboard out in the hallway. This is an old house and it's not uncommon for things to squeak or creak around here. Jihoon curls himself around Chan and his husbands and falls back asleep soon after that.
The next night, Jihoon agrees to stay in his son's room until Chan is asleep. Seokmin reads him a bedtime story and Soonyoung hums another lullaby and when Chan has fallen asleep, Jihoon tucks the blanket around him and kisses his forehead, waving his husbands out as he settles into the rocking chair. Jihoon feels a ridiculous urge to stay in the room and make sure Chan is safe while he sleeps, an itch that's been bothering him since last night for some odd reason. Jihoon doesn't think much of it and continues to watch his son as the clock ticks slowly and soon Jihoon is nodding off, wrapped up in a blanket that makes him look like a lump.
Jihoon is known for being a deep sleeper. He clings to the mattress and blankets, always the last one up in the morning, but he'd been quick to respond last night and he's quick to wake up again tonight as well.
Chan is whimpering in his bed, still asleep but Jihoon is more focused on the thing standing over his son.
What the everloving fuck? Jihoon thinks.
He makes no moves or sounds and watches as it leans down, breathing all overーno, sniffing his son. Jihoon tenses when Chan begins to react, frowning in his sleep as he turns over.
The thing leans down even closer and something flicks out towards Chan. Jihoon thinks it might be a forked tongue.
Chan wakes up then, eyes wide as he looks directly up at the thing and Jihoon doesn't know if he can sit still any longer.
"You're awake," the thing says, its voice jarring. "Good. That'll make eating you so much more fun. I love it when they kick and scream."
Chan whimpers, frozen in place as the thing leans down once more, and that is definitely a tongue that flicks out and traces the line of Chan's jaw.
Jihoon flings himself across the room and tackles the thing to the floor, struggling to find a grasp on it as it fights him back. Something sharp pierces the back of his hand, but Jihoon doesn't let up and eventually has it pinned to the floor.
All the while, Chan is screaming a chant of "DADDY! APPA! DAD!" at the top of his lungs.
The thing tries to escape again, and though Jihoon is small, he's strong when he's pissed off and angry and he's most definitely pissed off and angry right now.
Chan's bedroom door is flung open and the lights turn on as Soonyoung brandishes a bat around and Seokmin trails in after him with a flyswatter.
"What's going on?" Soonyoung shouts, eyes wide as he spots Jihoon.
Jihoon is frozen. The thing underneath him is terrifying. No eyes or nose and a thin rip of a mouth that a tongue darts out from as it hisses at the brightness. It's a mass of nothing, essentially, and somehow Jihoon is keeping it down. The thing notices that Jihoon is no longer putting up a fight and seeps out from underneath him, rising up and up and up while Chan screams and Jihoon's husbands stand frozen by the door.
Jihoon can't move and he knows if he does nothing his loved ones will die. But he can't move, something other than fear holding him down.
The thing creeps forward then, busting the lightbulb as it passes and Chan's room is once again covered in darkness, the only light coming from the window which Jihoon realizes with a start is open.
It moves in quickly then and Jihoon knows it's all over.
Something gold flickers across his vision and then suddenly, golden ropes are wrapping themselves around the thing, all of it emitting from a single arrow lodged into Chan's wall. Jihoon looks towards the open window again, finding that someone decked in an outfit of white and gold is running across their lawn and readying themselves to jump through the window.
What the fuck? is all Jihoon gets to think before they're standing in front of him, feathers all Jihoon can see, and Seokmin is grabbing him by the armpits and dragging him out of Chan's room while Soonyoung holds Chan in his arms, their son crying and sniveling into Soonyoung's shirt.
Jihoon catches one last glimpse of the winged man as he shoots another arrow directly into the center of the thing and then Chan's door is shut and Seokmin is clinging to him, checking him for injuries.
Chan crawls into Jihoon's lap and Jihoon holds him to his chest, his face feeling cold and devoid of emotion. Seokmin wraps a blanket from the master bedroom around them and Soonyoung rubs Jihoon's back, humming the same lullaby again.
There's thrashing noises and something crashing into the walls that shakes the entire house coming from Chan's room, but all four ignore it, choosing to trust the winged stranger to handle things and focus on comforting one another. Jihoon doesn't realize he's crying until Seokmin is crying, thumbing away Jihoon's tears and then Soonyoung's lullaby erupts into ugly sobs and Jihoon now has to rock three crying boys in his arms.
Seokmin presses kisses all over Chan's face, laughing when Chan stares at his tears, utterly confused because his Appa has never cried before and his Dad sometimes cries, yeah, but not his Appa and definitely not his Daddy. Jihoon strokes Chan's hair and accepts the watery kiss Soonyoung gives him and then Seokmin is there too, wiping their tears away with the sleeve of his shirt and kissing Jihoon fiercely, relief and worry hanging heavy in the air around them.
Jihoon leads them to the master bedroom where they blockade the door and snuggle up into bed, wrapped around each other tightly. Chan is the first to nod off, his head on Soonyoung's chest and then Soonyoung yawns and holds Chan tighter to him as he falls asleep as well. Seokmin spends some time awake with Jihoon, his arm lain out for Jihoon to use as a pillow of sorts but even that doesn't keep him from eventually falling asleep as well.
Jihoon doesn't go back to sleep that night.
And the next morning when they check Chan's room, they find it clean and utterly too neat to have housed a fight between a demon and an angel.

"This is the worst idea you've ever had in your life, and I've been there for a majority of your dumb ideas, but believe me, this one takes the icing off the cake."
Minghao rolls his eyes and grips onto Junhui's arm a little tighter, trying his damnedest to keep his boyfriend walking. "Keep saying that and you'll end up being another one of my worst ideas."
Junhui sniffs indignantly, "Shut up, you know you wouldn't last a day without me."
"Whatever helps you sleep at night."
"This isn't going to help me sleep at night," Junhui mumbles, pressing himself to Minghao's back when another cardboard cutout jumps out at them. "I'm going to have nightmares for a week."
Minghao laughs into the face of a worker dressed up as a zombie. "You're such a wuss, gē."
Junhui's response is cut off when he screams and jumps onto Minghao's back. "RUN!"
Minghao runs without question, laughing cheerily as he does with Junhui clinging on for dear life. They make it to the end of the hallway without any other incidents and Minghao is just setting his boyfriend down when Junhui screams again and runs off in the wrong direction, completely deserting Minghao who's left to face another worker. This worker is dressed as a vampire and laughs when they see Junhui desperately trying to get away. Minghao laughs with the worker, feeling allied in that short moment before he decides it'd be best if he went after Junhui now instead of later.
Junhui is now being cornered by some more zombies, cowering in fear and yelling at the top of his lungs for Minghao to save him from these monsters.
"Hey, guys, ease up," Minghao mumbles as he makes his way through the workers. "He's a huge scaredy-cat. Probably already shit his pants, to be honest."
"How dare you, Xu Minghao!" Junhui shouts, his anger and irritation winning over his fright. "I have not shit my pants and I will not ever shit my pants! Stop telling people that, you ass!"
"You're so predictable, Junnie," Minghao laughs, waving the zombies away before he takes a step closer towards his taller boyfriend and throws his arms around Junhui's neck. "Wanna leave? This place is really boring."
Junhui pouts, nodding his head in sharp, jerky movements. "I'll leave because I want to, not because you suggested it."
"Sure, sure," Minghao replies, a cheeky grin spread wide across his face.
"Shut up," Junhui murmurs under his breath, pulling Minghao tight into his embrace. "You're such a dweeb. I can't believe none of this scared you."
Minghao laughs again. "You're a bigger dweeb. I can't believe this actually scared you!"
Junhui merely shakes his head in reply, dipping down afterward to press his lips softly against Minghao's and Minghao can't do anything else but melt into it.

marshmallow bean

pairing: jicheol  genre: fluff, domestic au, rated g  warnings: none  words: 600
summary: "I’d have to call you the cutest marshmallow bean in existence! Look at my honey bunches all excited for Halloween!“ Seungcheol says in a high voice, his hands encompassing Jihoon’s face before squishing his cheeks together.
"Stop that,” Jihoon mumbles, slapping at Seungcheol’s hands. “It’s weird when you talk to me in your baby voice."
⇢ day twenty-six of 31 days of halloween
Tumblr media
Jihoon balances precariously on the chair, the wooden mass creaking and groaning underneath him.
He's pretty sure it'll topple at any second really, even if it's leaned against the wall. Still, he can't quite manage to reach the top of the wall where his string of bats look pitifully sad without the rest of their buddies that Jihoon holds in his hand.
"What the fuck," Jihoon spits out when he goes on tiptoe and still can't reach.
The front door opens and before Jihoon can say anything, his boyfriend is walking into their apartment, greeting Jihoon cheerily with a call of, "Honey, I'm hoーJihoonie, what the fuck are you doing!"
Jihoon's chair topples then, taking him down with it and he blinks, startled by the turn of events as Seungcheol closes the front door and rushes to his side. Seungcheol's hands flutter about, not knowing what to do with themselves and Jihoon almost laughs at how ridiculous this all is. Seungcheol pauses in his frantic movements, peering into Jihoon's face as the younger man sits up and rubs himself off.
"Are you hurt anywhere?" Seungcheol asks hesitantly, one hand held out for Jihoon to take.
Jihoon shakes his head and takes Seungcheol's hand. "I'm fine. No need for all the fuss."
Seungcheol rolls his eyes and sets Jihoon's hair right. "I'm going to guess that you were trying to hang up the rest of those, weren't you?"
Jihoon shrugs, picking his bats off the floor. "What if I was?"
"I'd have to call you the cutest marshmallow bean in existence! Look at my honey bunches all excited for Halloween!" Seungcheol says in a high voice, his hands encompassing Jihoon's face before squishing his cheeks together.
"Stop that," Jihoon mumbles, slapping at Seungcheol's hands. "It's weird when you talk to me in your baby voice."
"I don't have a baby voice!" Seungcheol pouts, immediately dropping his hands from Jihoon's face to tuck them underneath his armpits, the elder's arms now crossed over his chest. "And even if I did, it's not my fault that they're so cute!"
Jihoon smiles, tucking a few stray strands of Seungcheol's hair behind his ears. Seungcheol's hair is longer than usual now, almost at the length that Jihoon used to keep his own when he went blonde some years ago. Somehow though, the long wave of Seungcheol's dark hair suits him nicely and Jihoon can't help but run his fingers through it. Seungcheol's pout dies on his lips as he nuzzles into Jihoon's hand, relishing in the feel of his boyfriend's nimble fingers carding through his locks.
"There, there, you big ole baby. Now help me, please?" Jihoon murmurs quietly, breaking into a fit of laughter when Seungcheol starts whining at him. "Come on, Cheollie. Be a big boy and help your tiny marshmallow bean out."
Seungcheol laughs and quickly ducks in, pecking Jihoon's lips before he takes the bats from Jihoon's hands and scoots the chair until it's pressed against the wall once more.
"I'm only helping 'cause you admitted you're tiny," Seungcheol teases over his shoulder, smirking at his boyfriend who's waiting patiently for him to start doing what he asked of him.
Jihoon smiles and shakes his head, crossing his arms over his chest as he observes how Seungcheol hangs the rest of the bats with ease. Seungcheol steps down from the chair once he's done and turns to face Jihoon with a triumphant smile that falters when he catches sight of the large box of decorations Jihoon is struggling to hold up.
"Now that you've done that, mind helping with the rest?"

summary: Yuta is a handful most of the time, but in Sicheng’s own personal opinion, he really is the best.
⇢ day twenty-three of 31 days of halloween
Tumblr media
“Yuta, calm down,” Sicheng murmurs into the near quiet of the meadow.
Yuta jumps to attention and barks at him, his ears flopping into his face.
He’s rather cute, Sicheng thinks, very cute. He’s taken to calling Yuta by his first name no matter how awkward it feels on his tongue because Yuta had insisted and Sicheng is weak. Right now Yuta looks like a cross between a puppy and a bunny and Sicheng has never really been sure whether the elder is doing it on purpose, but it hasn’t seemed to matter much in the long run.
Yuta yips at his hand, another bark sounding out in the air around them.
Sicheng sighs and lies back down on the grass as he lets the sun warm him, content and happy to let Yuta have his fun for now. Eventually, a lanky, skinny man is lying beside him, their fingers intertwined as they watch the clouds go by. Sicheng turns his head and meets Yuta's eye then smiles at the shapeshifter.
Yuta has many forms, but he always reverts back to his human form when he is relaxed and calm. He takes on the hybrid form when he wants to be cute and annoy Sicheng, but through any form, Yuta is still Yuta.
And Sicheng loves him.

carve your name into my heart
Tumblr media
pairing: gyukook, multiple side ships  genre: fluff, pumpkin carving au, rated t  warnings: none  words: 1370
summary: Boyfriends Jeongguk and Mingyu gossip about their group of friends and their romantic endeavors over pumpkin carving.
⇢ day seventeen of 31 days of halloween
Tumblr media
"Youー" Jeongguk falters in his words, mouth agape as he stares at the people flanking Mingyu. "You actually brought them. All of them. Holy shit."
Jeongguk almost laughs when Namjoon and Jisoo simultaneously mutter, "Language."
Mingyu claps him on the shoulder, that broad grin of his that Jeongguk adores lining his face. "You said to bring all the people important to me."
Jeongguk shakes his head in disbelief. "Yeah, but, like, you brought twice as many people as I did! I don't have enough room for everyone in the living room."
"I did not!"
"You did! I brought six, you brought twelve. Six multiplied by two is twelve, therefore, you brought twice as many people as I did."
"Well isn't someone such a smarty pants," Mingyu chuckles, a hand rising to cup Jeongguk's neck.
Jeongguk leans into the touch before rolling his eyes. "Nope. We're taking this outside now."
And to the room at large: "Grab a pumpkin! We'll be carving in the backyard!"
Jeongguk is lucky his parents don't mind having so much company right now. They smile and wave everyone along, occasionally offering food and beverages before waving some more. Jeongguk groans when Mingyu picks one of the largest pumpkins he's got and hoists it into his arms, struggling to take it outside. Now Jeongguk has to look for a bigger pumpkin and wheeze as he carries it the backyard, not the least bit amused as his parents when they spot him struggling.
He can't just let Mingyu, his boyfriend of four months, show him up! What kind of person would Jeongguk be if he didn't grab a bigger pumpkin and decide to carve it artistically? Knowing Mingyu, Jeongguk's sure that he'll try and make the pumpkin look like a dog or a cat or something not spooky enough to excite Jeongguk's neighborhood trick-or-treaters. He's sure of it.
So when Seokjin walks up and relieves Jeongguk of his pumpkin and ruffles his hair calling him "his baby" Jeongguk flushes a bright red and avoids eye contact with any and everyone.
"Hyung!" He hisses because there's nothing more embarrassing than Seokjin babying him in front of new company.
Seokjin only laughs though, setting Jeongguk's pumpkin down beside Mingyu and walking back towards Namjoon who's eyeing the carving tools warily. Jeongguk braves a look around and finds that most of Mingyu's friends are laughing to themselves at the exchange while the youngest, Chan, shares a knowing sympathetic look. Jeongguk shakes his head and sighs before settling himself beside Mingyu who's smirking at him.
"Not a word," he mutters, his face ablaze and Mingyu cackles.
Mingyu passes out the carving tools he brought and then they're all busy with their pumpkins, a variety of styles beginning to pop up.
Jeongguk watches as Seungcheol, Jeonghan, and Jisoo bicker over their pumpkins, all three of them trying to create a larger picture over the expanse of three pumpkins. Jeonghan keeps arguing that Jisoo's edges are too clean and if they want the three pumpkins to look nice together, he needs to be softer. Seungcheol watches them bicker, rolling his eyes from time to time before deciding to just ignore them and keep carving his pumpkin.
Mingyu laughs beside him, digging an elbow into Jeongguk's side. "So, wanna gossip?"
"What kind of question is that?" Jeongguk asks, acting offended. "What kind of person do you take me for?"
And then, "...So who's dating who in your group of friends?"
Mingyu cackles and leans into Jeongguk's side. "Guess."
Jeongguk peers over their assembled group, taking notice of little details. "Mm, I'd have to say that Seungcheol, Jeonghan, and Jisoo are a thing. You can tell by the way Seungcheol lets them argue themselves sick but he looks strangely endeared either way. Oh, and another trio: Junhui, Jihoon, and Minghao. Jihoon has that same look in his eyes that Seungcheol does when his boyfriends fight. And, Wonwoo and Soonyoung, they're together right? Wonwoo keeps blushing and laughing at him, which is weird 'cause hyung never blushes. And Chan, he's still a baby so if he's dating Seungkwan and Hansol I'm going to fight them. Seokmin is still the lonely outcasted single one though unless that look Jihoon is giving him is something to go off of."
"Right, right, and right again," Mingyu whispers conspiratorially. "You'll have to fight them by the way."
Jeongguk's eyes blow up to the size of saucers. "They're together? Mingyu! Chan's not of age! How could you guys let them?"
Mingyu shrugs. "They've been together since before Seungkwan turned of age. We can't tell them anything. Besides, it's not like they have sex. Hansol refuses to do anything like that until Chan is twenty."
Jeongguk's entire face goes red at the mention of sex, but he fights back the embarrassment and hisses at Mingyu. "What about Seokmin and Jihoon?"
"Junhui-hyung and Minghao-yah don't really care who Jihoon-hyung wants to date besides them, but the looks he's been giving Seokmin for awhile are a little weird. Seokmin notices them though. He just smiles and pretends not to see anything. I think he might think that he's homewrecking their relationship or something," Mingyu replies, eyes intent on his pumpkin. "I've tried telling him that isn't the case, but Seokmin isn't going to do anything until all three of them approach him and lay their cards out on the table."
"How long do you think that might take?" Jeongguk asks, watching as Jihoon brushes Seokmin's hair out of his face and Seokmin blushes before turning away, his gaze flickering between Junhui and Minghao to gauge their reactions.
Mingyu shrugs again. "Who knows? They're all emotionally constipated so my best guess is around the spring term."
Jeongguk laughs and nudges Mingyu's side. "Keep me updated."
"Aye, aye captain!" Mingyu says with a breathtaking grin. "Now, tell me about your friends. Who's together here?"
"Guess."
Jeongguk watches as Mingyu looks them over, his brow furrowed. "Namjoon-hyung and Seokjin-hyung. Yoongi-ssi and Tae. Hobi and Jimin-hyung."
"Yeah, that's basically right," Jeongguk nods, carving more out of his pumpkin. "No triangles here or complicated emotional constipation."
"I beg to differ."
"What do you mean?"
"You're emotionally constipated. Or just incredibly shy, but I'm banking on the constipation," Mingyu murmurs, not taking his eyes off his nearly finished pumpkin.
Jeongguk blinks and looks up to examine Mingyu's expression, but he isn't looking up at Jeongguk so Jeongguk huffs out a breath and finishes carving his pumpkin. "Why do you say that?"
"Because you haven't asked me out yet."
Jeongguk laughs. "I did."
"No, you didn't."
"Did to."
"Did not."
"I did! What do you think this is right now?"
"This isn't a date if you asked me to bring all my close friends," Mingyu mumbles.
"It is so!" Jeongguk argues. "What better way to strengthen our relationship than by integrating our groups of friends together."
"Relationship?"
Jeongguk shakes his head. "Oh, come on. We've been dating for four months!"
Mingyu blinks, shocked. "We have?"
"Yes, we have. You kissed me after we got caught in the rain and we've been dating since then. Come on, Gyu. Did you really think that kiss meant nothing?"
"How was I supposed to know we were dating? You never took me on dates or held my hand or kissed me again after that first time. You've never introduced me as your boyfriend either!" Mingyu tries his best to mumble his grievances, but his voice raises at the end and their friends turn to look at them.
Jeongguk blushes under all the stares. "Because I'm shy! I'm not emotionally constipated or something like that. I'm just...shy."
"Oh god, I'm an idiot," Mingyu mumbles, pressing his hands to his face, which isn't a good idea considering they're covered in pumpkin guts.
"Yeah, you are," Jeongguk murmurs, prying Mingyu's hands from his face. "But you're my idiot."
"That I am," Mingyu manages to say before Jeongguk is kissing him for all their friends to see.
("My cat pumpkin is way cuter than that night sky scenery shit you did!" Mingyu yells later after their friends have left.
Jeongguk pats his head, knowing not to argue with him over this. "Yeah, whatever you say, Gyu. Whatever you say.")

⇢ day twelve of 31 days of halloween
Tumblr media
When the red light flashes in front of him, Yoongi is more prepared than he was last time.
Hoseok appears through the hazy fog infiltrating Yoongi's living room, but Yoongi doesn't care.
Hoseok is back.
Hoseok is here.
"Yoongi," Hoseok says, a displeased twist to his mouth. "Why did you summon me again?"
Yoongi blinks, taken aback by the annoyed look in Hoseok's eyes. "I'm sorry. Did I pull you away from something important?"
Hoseok rolls his eyes. "Oh, no. Nothing important, just y'know, a meeting with Satan, no biggie. He isn't very happy with you."
Yoongi gulps and mildly thinks about how the Devil himself is angry with him now, but it pales in comparison to the fact that Hoseok is back.
"I'm sorry. I just..." Yoongi mumbles. "I missed you."
Hoseok's eyes soften. "I missed you too."
And then.
"You ruined regular sex for me," Yoongi mutters, his face blazing red.
Hoseok cackles, drawing forward and stepping out of the summoning circle. "Yeah, I bet I did."
Hoseok takes Yoongi into his arms, curving down to capture Yoongi's lips with his own and for the first time in over a year, Yoongi finally feels at peace.
When they break apart, Yoongi slaps Hoseok's chest, relishing in the fact that Hoseok's chest feels very solid right now. "You promised you'd come back sooner."
"I'm sorry, baby," Hoseok coos at him, pressing a kiss to Yoongi's temple. "I couldn't get away sooner. We're in the middle of a war right now."
Then, "You know you only have me for an hour, right?"
Yoongi shrugs. "That's more than enough time to get what I want."
"And what is it that you want, baby?"
"You."
The smile that spreads across Hoseok's face in response is like dawn breaking over a new day.

summary: Taeyong seriously doesn’t understand why he does the things that Yuta and Sicheng ask of him. He really doesn’t.
Really.
⇢ day three of 31 days of halloween
Tumblr media
“Why am I doing this again?”
Yuta laughs as he throws another roll of toilet paper at Sicheng. Sicheng catches it easily, laughing to himself when Yuta praises his reflexes. Taeyong watches it all unfold, mildly concerned about how much money they’re currently wasting trying to wrap him up in toilet paper.
“Because you don’t have a costume and you need one to get into Mina’s party.”
Taeyong rolls his eyes, unimpressed by Yuta’s answer. “Why do I have to go though?”
Yuta gasps and clutches at his chest. “Oh, the betrayal! The agony! I trusted you!”
“I don’t know what you trusted me with,” Taeyong replies dryly, rolling his eyes again when Sicheng merely snickers and continues to wrap toilet paper around him.
Yuta regains his composure soon after and sighs before continuing where he left off. “You and Winko promised that you’d make an effort to be friends with my friends. I already went to lunch with Doyoung and Jaehyun. So now you’re both coming with me to Mina’s party.”
“I don’t see why I have to meet your friends at a party. We’ll all be too drunk to remember what happened the next day anyway,” Taeyong scoffs.
Sicheng slaps him in the stomach, expression unfazed when Taeyong doubles over and gasps, but it’s enough to make Yuta laugh and that’s what counts.
“You promised. Are you going to go back on your promise?” Yuta pouts, crossing his arms over his chest as he does.
Taeyong glares at him, still doubled over. “You owe me.”
Yuta rolls his eyes and forces Taeyong to stand upright once again. “Yeah, yeah. I’ll suck your dick later just stay still so Winko and I can finish.”
“You know I hate it when you call me that,” Sicheng grumbles as he finishes with yet another roll of toilet paper.
Yuta sticks his tongue at him. “I’m older, deal with it.”
“Brat,” Taeyong and Sicheng say at the same time.
They all burst into giggles then.
It’s only a little while later that Yuta proclaims him done and steps back to investigate their work. Sicheng leans against the kitchen counter, a black cape draped over his shoulders, hair slicked away from his face and a tiny line of fake blood dribbling from the corner of his mouth. Yuta is decked out in a Thor costume, his brown hair blending easily into the costume and Taeyong feels like a walking toilet.
“You’re such a cute mummy,” Yuta coos at him.
“Shut up,” Taeyong mutters, a flush overcoming his features.
Sicheng and Yuta laugh and if they take to calling him “our cute mummy” for the rest of the night, then Taeyong had nothing to do with it. He swears.

"Chief, we need to talk."
Hyunwoo looks up to see Hoseok standing hesitantly in the doorway. The elder waves a hand, telling him to close the door and take a seat. Hoseok does so quickly, perching himself on the edge of the chair in front of Hyunwoo's desk. Hyunwoo finishes reading over the case file in his hand and closes it, lacing his fingers together as he studies Hoseok.
"What did you want to talk about?"
Hyunwoo knows what Hoseok is planning to say. If there's anybody on the force who might know Kihyun as well as he does, it'll be Hoseok. And Hoseok is over-observant almost always, so Hyunwoo is surprised it's taken this long for Hoseok to come talk to him about this.
"Well," Hoseok mumbles awkwardly, twisting his fingers together in his lap. "It's about Kihyun."
Hyunwoo nods, waiting for Hoseok to continue.
Hoseok looks sheepish when he finally says, "There's something wrong with him."
Hyunwoo leans back in his chair and sighs, relieved, glad he'd been right. "I thought it was just me."
"You mean, you've noticed?" Hoseok leans forward in his seat, gaping at his boss.
"Of course I have. He lives with me after all and we're, wellーwe're intimate," Hyunwoo shrugs, trying to gloss over the last part. "Of course I'd notice when he starts acting weird."
"Listen, Chief, you don't have to act like I'm a clueless five-year-old. Everyone knows you and Kihyun-ah are fucking. What we don't know is why you haven't confronted Kihyun about his behavior yet," Hoseok says with a scoff, crossing his arms over his chest as he watches a variety of emotions flicker across Hyunwoo's face.
"What do you mean everyone?" Hyunwoo finally manages to ask.
Hoseok rubs his arms, a shiver running down his spine. "Well, it's obvious to everyone on the force that Kihyun is acting strangely. At first, I thought it might be relationship problems between you two but that hasn't been the case at all really. I still remember when Kihyun went missing for two days and you went insane trying to find him. You obviously care a great deal for him and I know that he used to care for you a lot too. So my theory is that this is a doppelganger and the real Kihyun is still missing."
Hyunwoo raises a brow at Hoseok, incredulous of the younger's theory. "A doppelganger?"
"Well, what do you think? The man you've been sleeping with went missing and came back not himself, please enlighten me about what you think happened," Hoseok replies, incredibly irritated.
Hyunwoo blinks, surprised by the outburst. "I...well, I'm not very sure, butーI just...Look, all I know is that he's not my Kihyunnie."
Hoseok lets his arms fall, gripping his knees anxiously as he leans forward and peers up into Hyunwoo's crumpled face. "Chief, I have an aunt who's a medium."
Hyunwoo glances up at the younger, utterly confused about why Hoseok is bringing this up now.
Hoseok continues though, his words a rapid flurry of disbelief. "She never talks to me, says she hates how I don't take spirits seriously and stuff. But she called me yesterday."
Hyunwoo still doesn't know where Hoseok is going with this.
"She was scared. Almost hysterical as if she didn't expect me to answer the phone," Hoseok chews at his nail, obviously distressed. And thenー "Hyung, she told me that a dalgyal gwishin was near me. I didn't think anything of it really, just dismissed it but it came back to me later that she never calls me. I always have to call her."
Hyunwoo nods, not understanding how this is relevant but he can vaguely recall hearing stories about gwishins when he was younger and his grandmother was still alive. If Hyunwoo recalls correctly, she was a medium as well. She helped spirits pass over and cleared houses of dark gwishins. Hyunwoo tries to remember what she might have told him about dalgyal gwishins, but he's only drawing a blank so far.
Hoseok shifts in his seat, peering over his shoulder as he leans even farther forward, his elbows on Hyunwoo's desk now. "I did some research about them and oh god, hyung they're terrible dark spirits. They aren't meant to leave the spirit world, not unless someone has created a rift between spirits and humans that they can slip through, and that's actually more common than you'd think. No one who's seen a dalgyal gwishin has survived, hyung."
"Okay?" Hyunwoo asks, brows still raised, still going through old memories of his grandmother.
"I called my aunt back and asked her about the gwishin," Hoseok murmurs, his voice barely above a whisper. "She didn't want to tell me anything at first, but when I mentioned Kihyun, she started babbling all this nonsense about a ritual and that someone close to me hasn't been acting themselves lately because they aren't. Themselves, I mean.
"Hyung, you're right, the Kihyun here with us isn't your Kihyun," Hoseok whispers.
Hyunwoo sits back in his chair, completely stunned. They stare at one another for some time, neither saying anything as the clock on the wall continues to tick. Hoseok wipes his forehead clear of sweat and looks over his shoulder again, nervous. Hyunwoo blinks and rubs his eyes, stretching his legs out in front of him as he slumps completely into his swivel chair.
"Hoseok-ah, are you implying that my boyfriend has been possessed by an evil spirit and that's why he's acting like more of an asshole than usual?" Hyunwoo quietly asks.
Hoseok drags in a sharp breath, fingers tangled together in his lap. "It's crazy, I know. I like my doppelganger theory better, to be honest, but I can't ignore my aunt. She's been right about a lot of things."
"Like what?" Hyunwoo asks.
Hoseok looks sheepish when he replies, "Well, she was right about you and she was right about Kihyun and I and she was right about me."
"Wow, wait. You've mentioned us to her?" Hyunwoo holds a hand up, still confused about what Hoseok is trying to prove with this.
"Well..." Hoseok hesitates, his body tensing up as he bites his lip and then finally he takes in a large gulp of air and says, "I thought you were a complete asshole when I first started working here and I told my aunt about it, just complaining you know, but she told me to get over it because you'd go on to do great things and you'd need someone trustworthy to have your back and that I was going to be that person and well, she turned out to be right when we were assigned as partners and then you got promoted and now you're Chief of Police."
Hoseok coughs then, peering tentatively up at the elder, relieved to see that Hyunwoo is fighting back laughter. Then Hoseok tenses up again, his fingers twisting in odd ways in his lap.
"And, uh, well, Kihyun and I. Weーwe were never a thing! Believe me, I'd very much have liked to, but my aunt advised me against it. Said our lives weren't meant to be intertwined that way."
Hoseok pauses to scratch his hair, his mouth a thin line as he thinks about his next sentence.
"She always asked me when the two soulmates would finally get together and I didn't realize until now that she meant you and Kihyun. She used to tell me about this grand love story between two cops when I was a kid and that was kind of why I became one in the first place, I wanted a grand story told about me too and then I met Kihyun and I thought, you know, that well, he's the one.
"Except he wasn't. He's your one. My aunt kept asking about you two and I was dumb enough to think it was about Kihyun and I when really, I never stood a chance," Hoseok finishes lamely, waving away the look Hyunwoo gives him. "Oh, don't look at me like I'm a kicked puppy. I got over Kihyun a long time ago and I'm really happy about you two, or at least, I was."
"Hoseok, I never even knew you thought about Kihyun like that," Hyunwoo murmurs. "Why didn't you say anything?"
Hoseok shrugs. "Didn't matter much in the long run, plus I kind of thought you were homophobic when we were first paired up."
Hyunwoo laughs then, the tense atmosphere around them breaking. Hoseok smiles, that wide smile that takes up his entire face and Hyunwoo can't help but lean over his desk and clap his ex-partner on the back.
"As you very well know, I'm not homophobic in the slightest. I think my long string of ex-boyfriends should be proof enough of that," Hyunwoo chortles.
Hoseok nods, his smile reigning itself in. "But about Kihyun..."
And just like that, the tense atmosphere is back.
"I'll look into it. My grandma was a medium too so I'm going to drive up to my grandpa's place this weekend and look through their old things, see if I can find anything that might prove your aunt right. In the meantime, let's look into that doppelganger theory of yours."
The two men lean in, whispering frantically and completely unbeknownst of the fact that Kihyun is standing behind Hyunwoo's desk, pressed against the wall and covered in a variety of charms and spells that conceal him from human eyes. It's just his luck he had to possess a man who's surrounded by spiritually influenced people.
Now he'll definitely have to kill them.

"I'm getting too old for this," Jonghyun says.
Kibum laughs ahead of him, his flashlight held up high to light their way. "You and me both, babe."
Jonghyun gazes around them, taking in the husks of corn and the large stalks. Corn mazes used to be his favorite past time when he was sixteen and carefree. Now he's practically thirty, his bones feeling weary with every step. Still, there's something very nostalgic about the whole ordeal that Jonghyun enjoys.
So he lets Kibum drag him out here on a spooky Friday night during late October. It's a tradition of sorts.
Kibum takes a left and doubles back for Jonghyun, grabbing him by the arm to drag him forward. Jonghyun lets him, smiling as he catches sight of Kibum's smile.
Even if he does feel old and has trouble getting out of bed on some mornings, Kibum makes Jonghyun feel young enough to trek through a corn maze for the better part of his Friday night.
