the line feels so powerful in and of itself, but the context makes it so much worse. this man has such an ego about his medical ability. he's structured his life in such a way that it's almost all he has. that...and wilson. and he's standing here, feeling the hope ketamine had given him about the recovery of his leg crushed, learning that wilson lied to him to try and check his ego. that wilson doesn't understand that he doesn't need it. he doesn't need a fake medical failure to know that he's not god. he knows that already. through a real one.

house knows that he's not god. because if he was, he could fix himself.

but he can't. and so he's not. because god. doesn't. limp.

(If the Doctor quotes to be or not to be at Shakespeare, then Shakespeare would have never written those words to inspire the Doctor in the first place. Unstable time loop, that is.)
