As I was recoloring some stuff, I decided to make a palette that compiles most of the wood swatches used in the game.

While I believe I've covered all of them, there may be a few missing but it's fineee, there are quite literally 24 swatches lmao

Download Contents:

.s4spalette – A color palette for importing into Sims 4 Studio. Put it into Documents > Sims 4 Studio > Palettes.

.pat – A set of seamless wood patterns extracted from the game, ready for use in Photoshop. Just drag directly onto Photoshop (but not to the canvas). Did I mention they're seamless?

.aco – A collection of color swatches for Photoshop. Just drag directly onto Photoshop (but not to the canvas)

I always knew I wanted to do a celestial-bodies themed edit of the three of them, as they fit the respective roles so well. Some seem more surprising than others. I also took the chance to try out Achino's Photo Studio Light Set – it's incredible, and I recommend it to anyone wanting to experiment with in-game lights more. The beautiful halos are from sugarowl over at TSR, namely Crescent Halo, Spiked Halo, and Milkyway Halo.

fun fact: eddie has worn white or off white a few times in s8 so far. his color palette is this:

the darker his shirt is, the more he’s hiding himself. the lighter it is, the more he’s being true to himself. the shirt in 808 will be the first time he wears bright white.

when eddie wears dark colors, he’s hiding his feelings, wearing a mask, whether it’s about chris or buck or himself. at work, he’s trying to turn that part of himself off even if he fails. he’s not going to let people see how he feels because these moments aren’t about him. they’re about chris, buck, hen and karen, or the patients he’s caring for.

when he’s wearing light/off white colors, it’s when he’s uncovering parts of himself or sharing his feelings with someone. he’s revealing a little piece of his identity and emotions/mental state. the lighter the shirt is, the more of himself he’s giving away. the talk with bobby is the first time he’s said out loud how he feels about chris being gone. the scene with the cheerleader’s dad was a place of projection. the dancing scene is the first time he’s experienced authenticity in years. maybe ever.

that’s why the confessions scene is so interesting. he’s wearing a white inner layer, he’s sharing the parts of himself close to his chest, but he’s still got a wall up in the church. he’s hiding Something that he wants to understand and share, but isn’t ready yet. and maybe nobody will know unless he says it himself.

but all this to say, i think eddie in a stark white shirt is not only alluding to s4 and an nde, but will be the final puzzle of him realizing his feelings towards buck.

Basic Reduxe Kitchen

CC Set of 14 BGC Items

A combination of my Back to Basics and Basic Luxe kitchens, because I really liked my mesh for the Luxe ones, but I will always love butcher-block tops more than any other kitchen surface. It's a pretty standard kitchen and I think the file names are self-explanatory, so here are some bullet-points-of-interest:

Like my Basic Luxe kitchen, the counter's end pieces have been changed to an alternate full-tile model and a half-tile model for more customization.

The cabinet also contains half-tile end pieces

This color palette draws a few swatches from the Basic Luxe palette, but I changed the hardware color slightly, and grabbed a bunch of colors from sforz's various palettes

The dining set packages come in two standalone versions: one set that matches the rest of the kitchen's swatches, and another set of 18 solid wood tones (bottom two rows of palette image)

Disclaimer: I re-mapped the UVs for the island tops and some counter tops, so the dirt overlays may be funky-looking. Since you're supposed to clean them when they're dirty anyway I decided it wasn't worth the effort to figure out a seamless texture for them (if you saw the uv map you would understand)

There isn't really much to say about this one! I thought it was going to be an easy project (when will I learn?) but I found some mistakes in the original meshes (nothing big but I'm a perfectionist) and fixed them along the way, which took extra time. And then I spent forever trying to decide on colors, and then trying to trim down the count (I cut 2 whole wood tones which helped decrease the number by about 30%).

I also decided to do custom thumbnails for these, because I liked the way they came out in my Basic Luxe set. I spent about three days manually generating, exporting, editing, and importing thumbnails (and even set up an auto-clicker program to help me!)... only to find out that S4S added a "catalogue thumbnail underlay" option in one of their updates. I'm still mentally recovering from that (read patch notes!!) 😔

Anyway, at least I got to play with ReShade a bunch! I've been mostly using it for screenshots in ESO, which is an online game that I can't pause, so being able to take my time and play with shaders and get juuuuust the right look was a real treat!

I use Peacemaker's No Occluder mod to prevent weird shadows from appliances/cabinets.

Thalia's Three Tunics

Kids love tunics in bright colors don't they? Practical and pretty!

Teanmoon's tunics are so easy to use, but I wanted some variety in color and patterns. I also like the tunic from For Rent, so our little girls should have plenty to choose from. Little boys have a few options too.

There are three tunics, but Teanmoon's tunic dress is in two files, one for plain colors and one for color combinations and patterns. Note that the patterns do stretch a little bit, and there are some shadows as you can see on the pink dress above.

You will need the mesh and/or packs for the recolors to show up in your game. 

These items are not necessarily historically correct, but they don't hurt my eyes in my Early Civ save. I think most of them would look good for medieval children as well. 

All colors are from my Efrosyni and Knossos palette and from Vintage Simstress' Southern Dyes palette. This means a lot of colors, but you can easily remove the ones you don't want using S4S.
