When Eddie first showed up Buck was the one to make it so Eddie could take care of Chris in LA by introducing him to Clara. And now that Eddie is leaving Buck is the one to take over Eddies lease so he can go off to Texas to take care of Chris.

Buck wants to refuse. He usually loves hanging out with Eddie. But he knows Eddie is leaving and that thought is enough to make him rather jump from a second-story window–Which is an improvement to the 4th floor that Buck 1.0 definitely would’ve gone for–than sitting and laughing with Eddie, knowing it’ll soon end. There are about a thousand excuses to why he ‘can’t’ accept that beer coming to his mind right now. But none of them are good enough, and none of them are iron-clad enough that Eddie won’t see through. “Sure.” He ends up answering.

Huh. Are ppl really thinking that Eddie is leaving L.A. and the 118 permanently? Has there been any actual indication that this is the plan? Have I been hiding out under a rock, lol?

My thought was that Eddie would be in Texas for a while but that we (the viewers) would be there with him. Much like when he visited his parents before. It wouldn't make much sense for Tim and Co. to have Eddie leave indefinitely. I can see Eddie visiting Chris, and there being a mutual decision for Chris to remain in Texas for his benefit, and I can see Buck staying in his house for that time period. Eddie can then return to LA with both a better mindset and a healthier relationship with his son. This would then present a great opportunity for Eddie's character to evolve, finally moving past the Shannon-Kim arc.

At least, in my little corner, this makes sense. I've been reading some truly fantastic posts on possible storylines for not only Eddie and Buck but also the whole Firefam, and I'm excited to see how they play out.

I think one of my very favorite things about that hookup scene is how PLAYFUL they were with each other. there was laughter and little remarks and back and forth and pushing each other into things. it wasn't just lust, they genuinely like each other so much.

Remember when the S6 finale aired and everyone jumped ship, but then eventually got back on (albeit reluctantly) for Season 7?

If this Bobby situation doesn't get rectified, I think that after this episode that everyone's gonna jump ship and NO ONE IS GONNA GET BACK ON.

Buck's face journey as he realizes Eddie is still home, that he went to the airport to get Chris, and that Eddie brought Pepa over for dinner makes me so emotional.
