I think egghead will not end well for the crew
#if we look at all the fights that started this arc#law vs blackbeard#coby/marines vs hachinosu island#kid vs shanks#sabo vs imu#the overall trend is defeat/being forced to escape#i think the crew may get separated#some will go to elbaf (USOPP NATION RISE UP) some may get captured by the elders#idk i don't think luffy can beat all 5 elders rn like i though he could take 1 but all 5?#seems too much#idk maybe he can who am i to doubt luffy#but i think egggead could be like sabaody was to impel down + marineford

(SPOILERS FOR CHAPTER 1147)
The title of the chapter is "What we're afraid of" (我々の恐いもの), a direct parallel to chapter 1142's title, "What I'm afraid of" (わたしのこわいもの). In this one, we see some of what the adults fear, comically (the Giant Warrior Pirates being defeated by mothers) and seriously (the potential destruction of the library and school, the kidnapping of their children, becoming the World Government's slaves, etc). The fact that this chapter's title is written in kanji vs 1142's title written all in hiragana also reinforces that these fears are now focused on the adults. Children learn kanji gradually, since there are so many of them, so it's normal for them to write things using hiragana where an adult would use kanji. There is also a contrast between the individual and the collective here, what I fear vs what we fear
.
(chapter 1147)
So Saul, as a former Vice-Admiral, has knowledge of the God's Knights, which isn't really unexpected. Though, since later Sommers did just tell the whole island that he was a part of the God's Knights, it might not be as much of a secret as we thought? Or maybe he just has confidence that the giants will heed their threats and become servants of the World Government, so it wouldn't be a problem if they knew
The word Saul uses to describe them is 不死身 (fujimi) and the official translation chose to use "immortal", but it could also mean invulnerable, or insensitive to pain. Now I may be nitpicking with this, but I don't think Saul meant that they are immortal in the sense of having lived a long time, just in the sense that they are indestructible. The wording bothers me a little because we already have people in the story who have been shown to be immortal in the sense of living a long time (the Elders, Imu) and there is no indication so far that the God's Knights share that kind of longevity, or at least not all of them (Shamrock has only been alive as long as Shanks has, unless he was lying about being a twin, and Garling has visibly aged since God's Valley, so maybe something happens when you become an Elder that stops you from aging). When Saul says 不死身 it actually reminds me more of Marco and his powers, since the word phoenix 不死鳥 (fushichou) is written with almost the same kanji, only switching body (身) for bird (鳥) and, as far as we've seen, he's immortal in the sense that as long as his powers are working his body is indestructible, not necessarily that he doesn't age
What Ivankov says when talking with Sabo and Dragon when they're discussing the possibility of the Imu that Sabo saw in Marijoa being the same Nerona Imu of the original 20 nations is 不老 (furou) which does means everlasting life, or more accurately everlasting youth, so it's not the same thing
And when Law and Doflamingo are talking about Law's devil fruit powers, Law calls it "Immortality Operation" or 不老手術 (furou shujutsu). Note that he uses the same term that Ivankov used, so more like an operation of everlasting youth/life. He also explains it as giving someone the gift of "eternal life" or 永遠の命 (eien no inochi), which does translate literally to an eternity of life.
(chapters 1086 and 761)
My unnecessarily long point is that the moments I remember of characters talking about immortality in the sense of living an unnaturally long life, the term they use is not the same as what Saul said. So he probably just means that attacking them is pointless because they can just regenerate from damage. I still think it's interesting that they seem to have the same abilities as the Elders, it seemed like a much more exclusive power when I saw it on Egghead
.
(chapter 1147)
So Brook not only knew about the God's Knights, but he also seems to know something about Gunko in particular, who is finally showing both her eyes in this chapter, by the way.
Also her reaction after hitting him is interesting, isn't it? Why does she seem to be in pain? The only one so far who successfully managed to "hurt" her was Usopp, and it didn't seem to have done much damage. I know some people have speculated that it's because she's hitting Brook and it pains her to do it, but she hasn't really been seen to have any compassion so far, so to me that doesn't make much sense.
Maybe I'm projecting on this, but what if it has something to do with Usopp? In the last chapter, he's the first one she targets (even though it was Jinbei and Brook who clocked her as a Celestial Dragon and God's Knight), he's the only one who landed a hit on her, she then goes to attack him again before the others try to intervene and he's the last one of them she knocks down. I'm just saying, in this chapter she seems to be in pain after kicking Brook, but also after Usopp yelling
(chapter 1146)
.
(chapter 1147)
Given how Collun has been mirrored a lot with Luffy, I don't think it's a coincidence that there are 10 captured children, to mirror the 10 Straw Hats. Oda named and focused on each kid's reaction, which means they'll probably have more of a role than the kids in Punk Hazard, who except for Mocha function more like a unit of children for the others to save. Someone also mentioned that they could be Collun's future crewmates, which also makes sense to me, since it would be one more parallel to Luffy of being the next generation of adventurers, with Luffy and the Straw Hats being to them what Shanks and the Red Hairs were to Luffy (since this is Thee Shanks/Luffy Dynamic Arc, I'm thinking a lot about mentor/mentee relationships and kids being inspired by adults to follow their dreams, and such)
.
(chapter 1147)
So there is the surface level fact that burning a building down is the easiest way to destroy it (especially full of flammable stuff like books), but it's also a pretty symbolic gesture. It not only makes readers remember real life events of book burnings to destroy knowledge and keep people under control, but fire is also one of Elbaf's stated weaknesses, so the fact that fire would be what destroys their culture, their new way of life and the sacrifice of the Ohara scientists that they tried so hard to preserve and protect is also pretty meaningful.
(chapter 1147)
Look, I know this is a stressful time and emotions are flaring and people wouldn't really think rationally with so much going on, but man. If you know anything about Ohara, then you know that mentioning Ohara + knowledge of the world is a surefire way to get stuff destroyed by people who work for the World Government, right?
Also, I think it's funny that after telling the giants to burn down their buildings he complains about Ange with 苦しい (atsukurushii) which means sweltering, stuffy or oppressively hot. So the fire of her passionate speech is too much for him, but go set fire to those cultural monuments lol

About the final spread in OP
Do you think there’s a mirror that pairs people together? Like luffy is paired with BB for example. People talk how panels are similar and it is pairing them and it isn’t accidental
What you think?
the line-up of the emperors definitely feels intentional to me—red opposite blue, white opposite black, the contrast is obvious there. the narrative foils are foiling! the four symbols are symbolic! as for the lower half of the page…
akainu | sabo: fire-themed devil fruit powers, connected to ace, the public faces of their respective, opposing, organizations
dragon | kuzan: former marines, connected to garp, connected to the neighboring fire-themed guy…
shadowy sword guy | figarland garling: i mean. obviously i can’t draw any meaningful connections between a pretty new character and a literally brand new character. swords? theoretical connection to shanks??
imu | koby: …??? something something secret king of the world vs public hero of the people? scion of thee most noble bloodline vs literally Just Some Guy? this is the weakest comparison of the bunch, imo
#tos answers#one piece#one piece spoilers#one piece 1121#but yeah. sure seems like there could be something to it!#—narrative foils

With the conclusion of the Luffy vs Kaido fight in the anime airing tomorrow I just can NOT stop thinking about how Sabo would react to Luffy’s death! (This was inspired by fanart I saw of this btw!)
Remember, he has Luffy’s Vivre Card on him:
Meaning he can LITERALLY FEEL what happens to Luffy so just imagine where he’s still recovering from the whole bout with Imu and the Five Elders and he remembers Cobra’s words about Luffy and he realizes it’s been a while since he’s checked on Luffy and so he looks at Luffy’s Vivre Card only to find it burning away very fast and before Sabo realizes anything it erodes away completely much to Sabo’s horror:

I imagine initially Sabo’s heart May LITERALLY end up breaking to the point where he has a near panic attack similar to the one where he learned that Ace died 😭

Remember he said that when Ace died he was unsure if Luffy was alive and he was scared he lost both of his brothers and in that moment he actually did lose both of his brothers 😢🥺

And before Sabo realizes anything Luffy’s Vivre Card suddenly flutters back to life and he even hears the drums of liberation as well as a laugh caused by Luffy’s Nika Awakening:

And while Sabo would initially be like Wtf is going on….he’d be happy that he still has his little brother 😊

i do love how they made the destruction of lulusia wayyy more fucked up in the anime vs the manga, bc wow it really drives home how absolutely horrific the celestial dragons/imu are, but also
poor sabo. the poor little meow meow. if he wasn't traumatized enough from what happened at the end of the reverie, he certainly is now. that boy went from one traumatizing incident to the next, with barely any breathing room.
someone me should write him breaking down
#seriously though the destruction of lulusia in the anime was amazing and heartbreaking at the same time#the absolute dissonance between the butterfly and imu was so fucking freaky#ange rambles#one piece spoilers

chapter 1121 spoilers
It only just occurred to me that (on the 2-page spread) everyone directly mirrors their enemy/opponent(?)

-Luffy vs Blackbeard and Shanks vs Buggy make enough sense, same with Sabo vs Akainu
-Coby vs Imu if we’re saying they have opposing morals/desires (instead of something like shared history; ie all previous examples)
-Kuzan vs Dragon is where I can’t think of any specific reason (unless it’s opposite morals/desires again)
-Figarland vs ? is where I have nothing lol (has there even been a named character who still has their left arm and uses a sword with a guarded hilt??)

One Piece Mini-Theories that i think are Just True
Blackbeard is 3 souls in the same body (either b/c of a devil fruit or b/c he's just kinda like that)
Law and Kidd are gonna form the Supernova Pirates after their defeats and gather the rest of the Supernovae to join them (as part of the Grand Fleet)
Usopp is going to change/redefine his goal in Elbaf (since his current goal is vague and bullshit) -- it'll either be to be able to tell the truth to Kaya when he returns (without losing his grandeur), or to impress/surpass his dad. maybe both. I will also accept "make all his lies into truths." It will not be "stop lying" or "stop being scared"
Crocomom is false BUT Croc did transition (with help from Ivankov)
Rocks' kid is someone big and important (could be BB, could be someone else -- saw a theory saying it was Dragon and ngl I could see where they were coming from, and another one said it was Croc, which I didn't buy as much)
Burn Scar man is someone we haven't actually met in the main story yet (Roger's crew maybe) -- It's NOT Saul, or Sabo, and probably not Masked Deuce either
Big Mom and Kaido aren't actually dead, they're just suffering near-eternal excruciating torture being tossed around in the mantle of the planet. They might pop out, but it won't be on Wano. If they pop out, they're joining Cross Guild.
Luffy ain't goin to the moon
Doffy is gonna get broken out of jail and join Cross Guild.
In fact, Cross Guild is gonna become the League of People who Luffy Already Beat the Shit Out Of™ (+ Mihawk), and will nab a few more past villains before they eventually get the shit beat out of them again (I'm thinking Arlong, Moria, and Lucci at least, but I would also like to see Kuro show up).
The Fight against Blackbeard won't be the standard shonen "break off into your respective 1v1s," and will instead be a whole team-vs-team very-complicated affair.
Uranus is NOT the thing Imu used to explode Lulusia, but that thing IS what caused the whole in Enie's Lobby. The "Sun Never Setting" thing is also related. What used to be there might be related to Void Century/Joy Boy, but I actually think it's some past attempt at revolution that occurred after the Void Century.
Uranus is a GPS, and is the One Piece.
Pluton has no sails; it only works if it's being pulled by Neptunians.
The 3 Ancient Weapons will end up in Luffy's hands, AND they only work well when they're all used together.
Luffy's gonna bust down the Red Line and destroy Maryjois (and Fishman Island in the process, but only after using the Ark to evacuate it).
Everyone is gonna get powerups in Elbaf, including many team-up special moves (for use in the aforementioned team-vs-team battle with BB). Haki-less members get a little Haki at least, but everyone gets substantially powered-up in preparation to taking on the entire WG.
#ive realized that some of these are just things i want to be true#oh well. too late#its already posted#one piece#one piece spoilers#wano spoilers#egghead spoilers#i forget when stuff happens so i dont rember what arcs or chapters exactly im spoiling here#theory#brain overheat#brainrot#thinky#brain full of one piece thinks#usopp my goat

𝐓𝐡𝐞𝐨𝐫𝐲 𝐭𝐢𝐦𝐞: 𝐖𝐇𝐀𝐓 𝐢𝐬 𝐈𝐌?
Im-sama is made out of shadows. It doesn't have a physical body - he/she/they refers to xself as MU. Mu can be used for VOID or DREAM (I'll add the greek letter μ used in science for -micro, just in case) And is probably a D. too. Most precisely a Marshal D.
Why? look at the way it is drawn: it looks like a shadow that adapts to the surface perfectly. In this case on the throne. Nobody should sit on the empty throne... but, what about a shadow? who's shadow is it?
Now, this thing refers to xself in THIRD PERSON. And uses MU instead of Imu. Mu, can mean VOID... which is perfect for shadows and the VOID century. But also, DREAM, which certainly reminds me of some bitch speaking about DREAMS HAVING NO LIMITS (LIKE VOIDS AND SHADOWS)... YES, MARSHAL D. TEECH.
The fact that it refers to xself in third person reminds me of Luffy and Zoro saying "it's not him, is they" for some reason.
But, also, do you see the THREE spikes of Im's crown? Blackbeard has THREE skulls, THREE different looks (remember the different teeth) and it is in the search for the THIRD DEVIL FRUIT.
And what's his FIRST DF? the Yami Yami no Mi. or Darkness Darkness no mi making the user a "darkness human". Why he was so desperate to eat such fruit? he was clearly looking for it when Thatch found it. (That's why he killed him).
The fact that Teech was the one to capture Ace and give him to the marines rings a bell... Ace was the son of Gol D. Roger. The D that antagonizes completely to the WG (and Im). It wouldn't be weird that Im sent his own "son" (can be a son, or a descendant) to extermine the "rests" of Roger.
Also, the fact that Ace had the MERA MERA no mi and now it was Sabo, current user of the mera mera, the one to see Im sitting on the empty throne... But also, the fact that Im ATE the fire of the Hiken attack Sabo used on him/her/they? reminds me a LOT of Ace vs Teech...
Aren't this too many coincidences already? 🤭
