I've been seeing consensual "bride hunt" tropes for nearly a decade and a half even back in like, the HP fandom! I can't believe there's not a common canonical tag!!! Also while we're on the subject, #sacrificialRitualMarriage or #sacrificialBride -- with like, a shapeshifting dragon or an evil god or a sorcerer or w/e that turns out to be less metaphorical than expected? Folks I am once again upset by the fact that "bride kidnapping" is not a filterable tag on ao3 so here's some brainstorming ft. @lyratalus about all the ways this trope can be used

Full on non-con marriage, for when you want an arranged marriage that's not actually arranged

Full on non-con marriage, for when you want dark fic (true love interest and/or family members sweeping in to rescue the "bride" optional)

Kidnapping out of desperation, whether for political clout or the dowry involved or whatever else you want, with no intention of pressuring the "bride" into anything but needing them physically present or their skills on hand

Classic dubcon "you didn't actually ask me for permission but now that it's happening tbh I'm kinda into it"

Fake kidnapping as a way to elope

Fake kidnapping as a marriage ritual

Generally speaking any pre-arranged capture or anything that involves tying people up during the wedding

Misunderstanding that leads to the kidnapping party thinking this is a way to elope and the kidnappee having no idea what's going on

The girl seemed a bit out of place, she seemed fashionable and young, not like the rough street fashion here, but gentle probably like a well kept flower and she was unaccompanied? however, he didn't have much to say, so the silence just ruminated awkwardly.

"What are you doing?" When he spoke up from behind her he could see her shoulders stiffen immediately. Obviously, she didn’t expect him to appear some time soon and yet, she was doing something in his room. What a nice coincidence  indeed. "Mmh, not even able to look me in the eye? Nfufu." He took one last step towards her figure and leaned forward, placing his chin on her shoulder. "Are you trying to see if I have pictures of other girls in my drawers?" He laughed again and let his tongue flick over her earlobe before she finally awoke from her paralysis and turned around to shove him away.

Raising his hands as if to prove innocence, he took a small step backwards, leaving her the false satisfaction of actually being able to force him back off with the bit of strength she had. Smirking at her, he put his hands behind his head and shifted his weight on one leg. “What? Am I wrong? Then what are you doing in my room? Don’t tell me.. you were waiting for me?” One corner of his mouth twitched up even more. Of course she wasn’t and her explanation about looking for laundry made sense as well and yet.. it was fun playing with her.

“Mmh, I’m a little disappointed you can’t be honest with me.. The laundry?” Slowly he began walking again, wandering around her until he stood next to the girl. “Come to think about it, my uniform is overdue, I think.. Mind taking it off for me?” When she turned her head to look at him her gaze was a glare. He couldn’t hold back a short but loud laugh and reached out one hand to put it on top of her head.

“No need to give me that look, I was joking, of course.” Gently petting her hair he leaned closer a bit. “Unless you actually wish to undress me.” Again, a glare. “Nfufu. Your reactions are the best, as ever.” Swiftly he closed in the distance and placed a small peck on her forehead before pulling back his hand and straightening his back again. “Don’t worry, there’s actually something I have to do before I can play with you.” He hummed, turning around to approach the door he entered from again with feathery steps. Before he left, he turned around one last time, giving her a bright, playful smile.

It was on a late night, where the sky started to fade into dark, dark shades. As if someone had a huge bucket with black paint, and threw it all across the sky. Turning everything black. However, the nightsky was not all alone; it had all these tiny, tiny stars - all over the sky; they even looked like millions of fireflies that is stuck up there, and decided to stay there forever. Twinkling little stars, and it had a close friend; a bright and round orb, that had said goodnight to our sun - for some, that would be a shame - but for others, it would be better if the weather was like this, don't you think? So they don't risk to lose their energy. Some of these, are called. . vampires. It's not like they would die if the sun hit them, literally; but it absorbed and dragged all their energy away, making them weaker. if that happened, they would be done for. Anyway, the faint glowy razors the full moon sent out, illuminated verious placed of this area - making the lakes reflect it, and small sparkles started to appear, making this another nice view. The breeze was slightly rough, making the old leaves fall off the trees - one by one; hitting the ground gently. The colors has changed from green to many different colors; yellow, brown, red. . orange. All these colors fitting in with the season; autumn. That's right. Autumn has arrived, and summer has already left.  There was this young vampire; white slightly short hair - silver-hair. His skin was pale, and there would be no signs of puls in this person. He had his eyelids shut, his body laying in a large, black coffin. Many would say that he looked dead, or is dead already. Strange enough, no matter how cold his skin was, no matter how hard there was to find any heartbeat - this young male is alive. What give him sthrenght, is warm blood. Something that lend him energy, and even more power than what he already had. A lonely vampire that liked to spend his time by himself, not having any special contact with any of his so-called "brothers". He was a part of the Sakamaki's brother alright. Though he didn't like to hang around them so much, other than to bother them by calling them names. A cold at expression and attiude, but is his heart the same? Does he has a side he haven't showed anyone? Was there a person that bringed the worst side of his, because of these unexplainable mixed feelings he had? He didn't know how to explain them, but reacted to the reflexes of his actions. That was something he could not help, during that he had a very bad-temper. This vampire, is named Subaru. And he usually put his anger out on objects, and break them. Or can end up in a dangerous fight, not that he mattered though.  After a short while, he woke up - and opened his eyelids, stared at the ceiling for a moment - before he parted his lips, and let out a slight sigh; pulling himself slightly up, and looked around his room. Reasons because he decided to stand out from him coffin, which he use literally as his bed; was because the smell a human girl gave out. Is she sneaking around again. .? he started to think, and arched an eyebrow upwards - automatically teleporting himself out of his room, and where this smell sent him. Though she didn't see him yet, he had his intense piercing red-eyes fixated at the girl. And he did not look happy, if I would have to say.

Reiji slips the piece of paper off her hands and leads her to the nearest table. “You simply have to remember the definitions in each identities. Pre-calculus is not exactly a hard subject when it comes to memorizing the formulas and applying it to the given problems such this.”

Reiji takes takes out a pen from hia uniform jacket and starts to write down the definitions.

"For example, we have to look at the given. We have Tanget of X over Secant of X… Plus, Cotanget of X over Cosecant of X… Since these are already given, we simply substitute these terms by the given definitions which will be shown as…"

Reiji proceeds to write the definitions in the equation to define the equation:

(Sin(x)/cos(x)) / ( 1/cos(x)) + (cos(x)/sin(x)) / (1/sin(x))

"Therefore, if you solve this using the algebraic rules… You will get sin(x) + cos(x). Which proves that the identity of this formula is true." The man puts his pen down and proceeds to look back up at the young lady with a smug smile. It isn’t exactly hard—after all, it is all common sense.

the day had been long, not really strenuous but it had been a long one. With the usual stresses and riggers of the daily work. It was long past time to quit, he had only stayed out in the area past time due to a delivery he was to be making. Which ended up in him being out later than intended. 

The sky showed barely any hints of light, the thing guiding the blue haired man was the street lights. A certain uneasiness had crept over him, but he shook it off, looking away momentarily to see if someone had been following him, he had the oddest feeling that he was being watched. Then as he looked back he collided into a body.
