Okay, overall - Heaven's Feel>Fate>Unlimited Blade works. I think it's because HF is less combat focused and more of - "oh everything keeps going to shit". Ang now that I'm not READING fate, I'd say it's good. But maybe due to translation being drier or due to original being dry, it's a really tedious read, and constant repetitions don't help either. Maybe after newer translation finishes I'll compare. I like how characters fleshed out, comedic bits land well and each route strenghtens previous ones, and seeing how each girl resonates with different parts of Shirou and influences him, despite him being notoriously bullheaded. And Shirou is a cool viewpoint, I keep wanting to fight him, which is a nice quality for a protagonist to have. Unfortunately, he's cute, which makes his nasty side more upsetting.

September 2023, I started the "a court of thorns and roses" series. Booktok got me hyped to read it so when I did, I really enjoyed it. (I fell victim to liking Rhysand and the inner circle, forgive me)

Feyre, Tamlin, and Lucien were my favorite characters. Their dynamic, how their relationship grew, I loved it all. (I was also a hater of Nesta but I changed now, my mind opened.)

I also saw spoilers on Tik Tok about acomaf and Rhysand which put me into a slump and I didn't continue reading the series again until April 2024. Yeah, it was that bad.

Finding out that people hated Tamlin for his later actions got me bummed because I really liked him at the time. I got spoiled for the rest of the series but I don't really care for spoilers that much.

During my slump, I made an account on Tumblr. I mostly liked posts but I would comment at times. I was afraid of making a post because I was just nervous.

I still had love for Tamlin so I avoided the Acotar side of Tumblr for a while. Because what if someone came after for my thoughts or opinions? That scared me. I felt somewhat alone when it came to not hating Tamlin or seeing him as a "villain" (he's more morally grey). I also still didn't like Rhysand because of the whole under the mountain thing which weirded me out.

Then one faithful day, I was looking through the Bryce Quinlan tag after finding out about her when I saw this post (it was about the crossover) and it was the first anti Rhysand post I liked.

And I clicked on the anti Rhysand tag and my third eye opened. When it came to booktok, I thought that hating this man was some sort of taboo.

These guys showed his wrongdoings, went on analysis, how he was toxic, how he treated certain characters, etc. Thanks to them, I was right to feel what I felt about him. He fucking sucks.

I then went on the pro Tamlin tag and I had finally found my people. Ones that shared the same thoughts as I did when it came to Tamlin and it gave me inspiration to make my first post on here.

Nah but seriously, I want to give my appreciation to the Tamlin, Nesta, Lucien, and Eris fans, the anti Rhysand people, the inner circle haters, and the people who just hate this series in general. I'm grateful for finding a community where I fit right in and where I won't get burned at the stake for my opinion (most of the time). I actually made friends on here which is great because I usually suck at making friends (Me and Tamlin twinning, can't make friends for shit) so this is great.

Snake and Finny as 'classmates' are so cute! But Finny had to leave him to die. The most tragic love story in the entire Kuro, imo.

We got three flashbacks from three different servants, but Snake's flashback isn't really a flashback, but a cinematic record.

I notice that for cinematic records, there are some white texts in black bar/box between panels that showed the, uh, 'victim's thoughts.

Unlike Bard or Mey-Rin, whose thoughts were put in the panel boxes themselves, Snake's, Madam Red's, and Sebastian's thoughts were put in the black boxes.

The way that Baji and Ramsa bantered it was very easy for me to forget that Ramsa is near enough the same age as Kesegi. I think Rin forgot that herself, the way that she still thought of Kesegi as a child and Ramsa as... Ramsa. The first round missed him and he was still laughing :( he was just a child.

the Cike in general was devastating. All of them but Altan started the book and then Chaghan and Rin were the only ones who were left. We never even learn what happened to Unegen and Enki. However, the implications from Chapter 11... Chaghan has some explaining to do. Feylen still trying to get through during his fight with Rin is so sad. He never wanted his fate. I hope his death brought him peace.

the treatment of Venka and the entire interaction in Chapter 28 is so sad. "It's happened before."

the treatment of the refugees as well. They were the victims of everything and yet they were treated like scrounging animals. The victims of a rich man's war fr.

There are so many fics that explore Obito hating Kakashi for what he did to Rin... but you know what I haven't seen? Fics going "what if Obito hated Rin for what she did to Kakashi?" Like, [and here I proceeded to write out 200 words of a second-person POV introspective piece where Obito puts the blame on Rin instead of Kakashi, before deciding I really should just post that on its own]

anyway, what if the narrative wasn't "Rin is kind sweet super medic whose only flaw was that she died". What if the narrative took a look at Rin and said "hmm. If you assume she was in control during the Rincident, then what she did was Fucked Up."

That's a really interesting thing to point out and I like the agency it gives Rin in the story. I get why Obito blamed Kakashi, because from the outside it was clearly such a mess - he didn't have context for anything that happened at the moment, all he saw was Kakashi putting his fist through Rin's chest. Obito's an impulsive, emotional person, and I'm not surprised that he cast Rin absolutely as the victim. I think him blaming Kakashi and making Rin the angel fits in very well with his character and is the most interesting avenue for his relationship with both Kakashi and Rin. It was set up for the misunderstanding, Obito's the type to misunderstand, and Obito resenting Kakashi is what creates the interesting narrative choice - it's that mixture of hate and love that I tend to mark ObiKaka by. Agreed that I would enjoy seeing some explorations of Obito not carrying resentment towards Kakashi, though (but, like, ONLY if you use it to make their relationship new and interesting amounts of fucked up)

Gonna be real, reading the Wiki (I never read Kakashi Gaiden F) I was also...really confused as to why Rin used Kakashi to kill herself instead of just jumping in front of the enemy ninja's attack. I get that due to the seal she couldn't kill herself, but if she could jump in front of Kakashi's attack then surely she could jump in front of somebody else's? I was confused, hence Obito's comment. For the sake of my own 'let's write things so they make sense', I'd probably portray it as Rin being under a 'die in the next 5 seconds' sort of time pressure or otherwise limit her options. I'd like to portray it as it being a very fucked up situation where Rin had to make a very bad choice very quickly and she didn't have the time or the composure to make the choice that would traumatize the least amount of best friends. It's just sad.

This is a funny thing to mention in general considering what happens next chapter in Utopia btw lmfao.

Hi there anon! I don't give her much thought, to be honest, but I feel so sad for her. She was just a child and a victim of the intrigues between the different shinobi nations. I feel so heartbroken that she could not envision any kind of help and she though she had to kill herself to save her village. That is so deranged and cruel. I despise Hashirama for starting this abominable thing of forcing tailed beasts into people to turn them into nukes. I hope he is burning in hell for all the damage he caused.

Okay I always wonder what did Rin think of Obito in the afterlife. Like seeing him doing these terrible things as Madara/Tobi.

So what are your headcanons of Rin’s reaction to Obito being alive, and what’s her reaction to all the horrible things he did?

While we all would normally think that she is horrified by all the atrocities he did as Madara/Tobi, I think Rin actually felt completely heartbroken for him, and wanted to support and be there for him to take away his pain.

She cannot hate him for the person he became because Obito is actually a very depressing character, and Rin KNOWS this.

He's orphaned, is known to be the "black sheep" of the Uchiha Clan because he is late in realizing his talents, and he struggled to carry himself all alone with Rin as his only support. Everyone put him down (including Kakashi) as this idiot who is not a protégé like other kids in his clan, and he is generally neglected because Kakashi is the center of attention, even with Minato. Rin was the only one that believed in his dreams.

Next thing you know he gets the worst end of the stick: Body crushed, can no longer be a shinobi if it weren't for the Hashirama cells, isolated and locked inside a cave for a very long time with none other than Madara Uchiha, who easily exploited his emotions.

Now imagine losing that one thing that encourages you to keep going through the hurdles of life by being brutally killed and having a promise that meant the world to him just shatter before his eyes.

!!! TW: Mental Issues and Dark Themes !!!

Rin as a spirit must have witnessed all the mental issues he went through that we as viewers did not get to see, and it must have been horrifying and heartbreaking.

Hallucinations, PTSD, nightmares, panic attacks, split personality disorder, severe depression, breakdowns, aggressive behavior and sociopathy.

All of this because of the unlucky life he had to endure. You really think she would hate him for what he has become? His mind is broken, and it just tears her heart to pieces.

She would be the type that would do anything to take away his pain and sadness, fully understanding why he lost himself into his darkness and no longer became the Obito she once knew.

Let's not forget that Rin ended up becoming a victim in the world that Obito seeks to destroy. Had she been alive, she would've probably lost herself too, so I can imagine her empathizing with Obito and his perspective in that context. Being forced to become a Jinchuuriki, an existence that the world resents, is also more than enough to break someone's mind.

So to summarize, Rin's reaction is just pure sorrow and heartbreak because of everything that lead up to this evil person that he is now, and no longer the bright teenage boy that she once knew.

But Rin always believed in one thing; that despite everything, Obito's heart still remains pure in her eyes and that he did his best and everything he could, and that's more than good enough for her. :)

Like that secret means that: he actually has no brothers, he has no birthright, everything he was scheming is falling down and was pointless, iris has dumped him so his 'first friend' and lover are gone, and y/n (who I believe he loves) has become embroiled in all of his mess so technically has no royal title either and when his scheming was doomed before it started. And on top of that knowing his life and personality have been founded on a lie. That just sounds so lonely

"WHY WON'T THE D.BD DEVS GIVE US MORE MORALLY COMPLEX FEMALE KILLERS" is a complaint that drives me up and down the wall, because the people that say this are the same people that couldn't handle the original Sally Smithson, aka. one of the most challenging, ugly and uncomfortable but important characters from a standpoint of commenting on ugliness and the legacy of systemic trauma in the mental health system.

D.BD's problem with making female killers into either unapologetic, heavily sexualized 'I kill for fun and the sexy' or into the 'baby girl whose done nothing wrong ever in her life forced into being a killer' all goes down into the marketing of the characters, because those two extremes are the ones that sell, and furthering that is WHY we keep getting the model perfect dbd female killers that fall into the 'women are only capable of being victims, even as killers'.

BECAUSE THIS IS WHAT THE COMMUNITY BUYS, THIS IS WHAT THE PEOPLE THAT COMPLAIN AND GRIPE CONTINUE TO CHOOSE AND BUY. You guys couldn't love Sally (Nurse), you couldn't love Lisa (Hag), but you embraced Rin (Spirit), you embraced Adiris (Plague) and Susie and Julie (Legion), so see the trend? See the pattern? It's directly driving the market and the Devs only actually care about selling their skins and the characters themselves.

The Devs will never give us morally challenging, uncomfortable and uncompromising, monsterous female characters until the fandom as a whole can handle them, and we can yell sexism at the devs all we wants, but money talks and the call is coming from INSIDE THE HOUSE!

Also on that note: that monstrous Sally rewrite? It was trying to market on the same market that Adriana was supposed to target and is so so sad, not only because Sally's character was utterly ruined and dragged for a 'bad nurse' sex fantasy. but mostly because the death of Sally's character in that form was really a death of integrity for the game on some level? Sally was an untouched call to when D.BD really EMBRACED its roots in horror and horror tropes. for her to be thrown down the road and so utterly changed beyond recognition, ruining her original story, it was the final death of the original story telling of D.BD and it feels bad man! Poor Sally, you deserve better!

So... What even is going on with her crime? 😭 It seems as though her accomplice killed her classmates, and then she killed him? Her animosity towards Haku is kinda scary honestly, since she's usually so friendly. Its funny to imagine though, because he would not care. I nearly put a heart over "a beast unleashed" because of this, but Aimi hasn't actually done anything aggressive in linagram.

Still can't get over her design and aesthetic. I want her gender so bad. 💖 The popping balloons in her t2 MV were so cool, and it did remind me of Yuno. Can't wait to see her development in t3. 👀

After what he did to Kei, he's moved from "makes me uneasy" to "actively dislike" in my linagram tier list. Still can't get over the first half of his t2 MV that featured him with so many women. I really thought he had rizz. Turns out it was just an otome game. Its funny to think about that section of the MV being real, but only because they fell in love with an alter of his. His memory problems came from you, so now that you've learned that you're a system, what does this mean for him? 🤣 Guess I'll still headcanon him having DID.

Her design is really cute and I do like her conflicted feelings towards her victim because things are rarely so straightforward. 🥲 Her calm demeanor but constant references of inner anger makes me nervous. Adding on to the fact that she's one of the prisoners that would kill again... Ma'am, please go to therapy.

Kei

Kei is that kind of character that you just fall more in love with the more you learn about him. Then again, he hasn't actually revealed a lot about his crime but his backstory instead. His relationship with Eiji will never not be * incoherent sobbing*. I eagerly await more crumbs on Mr and Mrs Sanada as well! 🤲

I didn't think his dynamic with Shun and Eiko could get any worse, but I was wrong. I WAS SO WRONG. Isn't this the man that was supposed to be the most violent prisoner? What happened to him?? Please get him out of there. Somebody save him. #freethesanadas

I'll be honest, she's the character that I forget about the most. Which is kind of weird considering she has the most gruesome murder method in undercover, but it might be a metaphor. Her relationship with her mother is interesting, so I'm looking forward to that.

I do love her design though, especially since she looks so much like Iris, hehe. Her style is great, quite alike Yui's.

Asahi

Rin 🤝 Asahi: Getting more sympathetic as milgram continues. They're the true siblings here. 🤣

Asahi is such a menace, but his insults actually work now that he's had enough time to get a read on everybody. Its funny, I'm down for it. His demeanor towards Miki is really cute! At the end of the day, I want them to get better, which is probably impossible given the nature of milgram, but the sentiment is there. They're a little messed up, but they seem like the characters most likely to be able to live a normal, somewhat happy life if they got out of milgram.

Still don't know who her victims are, but all will be revealed in due time. Her relationship with her manager is sad but mostly funny. 😂 I'm not sure how to feel about kinning her the most out of all your ocs like the manga hobby, the struggle of being independent hhhhh

Her ability to resort to violence so easily is kind of interesting now that I think about it, considering one of her themes in struggling with independence. You wouldn't expect her to be the violent type after reading most of what we know about her, but it works somehow.

Riku

His t1 designnn 💖💖💖 Eh, I'm not sure if I like his half and half hairstyle for t2. But the part about the white reminding him of his friend was 👌👌 I can't remember what made him choose those colours, but what if...subconsciously, he chose it because it reminded him of his friend? Just kidding! ...Unless? 👀

His complicated relationship with his friend reminds me of Kalim and Jamil in a way, haha. Have I said this before? I wonder if Riku liked his friend at some point, or at least appreciated something about him. His friend didn't seem to have been a good place either. They both should have gone to therapy together smh. 😔

Its not really that my eyes have been opened, just that she dropped the serial killer act and now I like her a lot more for it. She's also the only prisoner who's bothering to figure out what's going on milgram, so slay queen. I also love her haircut!! I had a similar one earlier this year, and I got a number of compliments so... :D We twinned.

Ahaha, so her victim is her brother... I figured, but I thought her friends were the ones mainly responsible for the murder. Was it more of an accident? Did something go out of hand? Or is Reina just blaming herself because what else can she do? 🥲

Yeah, I understand that he is the more unforgiving guard and he did give the t1 prisoners horrible punishments, but he doesn't deserve this 😭😭😭 Why must things keep happening to him? What is wrong with him and his brother? /pos

Her relationship with Asahi is so 💖💖 But other than that, I don't have much to say because she's a pretty cut and dry character. Not that there's anything wrong with that! There's just not a lot of mystery surrounding her anymore compared to her coworkers.

I'm also not sure about her savior complex anymore. 🤔 It doesn't appear that much, and her aggressiveness towards some of the prisoners shows that she's either angrier than she lets on or is a bit of a hypocrite imo. I dunno, let's see what she does for t3! :D

He's only been here for like, 1 and a half vds but I love him already. Being more of a morally grey guard will do it for me. He's just an eepy lil boi. Can't wait to see what he'll do in t3! But his hinted punishment methods are uh 😰 His mask is really scary too.

You know, I love fruit basket because of how it portrays so many different forms of abuse. I'm not romanticizing it, it's just nice relating to a character because something similar happened to you. When I first read it, I went through something similar to Rin/Izusu went through that involved how her parents treated her. I don't know why, but it just sucks how unwelcoming some people are online. Apparently what happened to Rin isn't possible (what?) and how dare the idea parents who didn't want their kid and got tired of putting up a happy family act exist. It just makes me sad cause she's one of the characters I relate to the most, but people just flat out hate her. I remember reading someone's analysis and they said rin purposely kept her hair like that to look like ren because rin's mom had curly hair and that her name wasn't even rin, that somehow she purposely did everything to torture Akito. I'm still so confused by it. I mean, i guess some people are lucky they haven't been treated like shit because they reminded someone of someone they hated. In hs, this girl didn't even call me my own name and referred to me as someone else's name I never fucking met all cause she claimed I looked like her. But you know, apparently someone's own personal experience is just made up according to random people online.

One of the many reasons why I the series so much is that it portrays the many ways people can experience abuse from their own "family/social group". How the scape goat vs golden child both suffer trauma from these toxic environments in their own ways.

Also, I'm sorry you relate to Rin so much and that someone didn't believe your experiences. To me, that person seems like they think Akito did no wrong... which I fully believe she's also a victim of abuse but also did unforgivable things.
