What do you think about the new promo video? HBO released a video with the greens first and to some it seemed unnecessarily rude. What do you think?

I think that HBO is doing a whole lot of marketing for the Greens…again (the two “choose a side” trailers were quite obviously uneven as well). Olivia, Tom and Ewan are the three actors they constantly use for marketing purposes from what I’ve seen, because they’re conventionally “hot” and the “appropriate” ages.

As @nrilliree said, the actors from Team Black are all either too old or too young, and therefore can’t really be used to “seduce” horny teens to watch the show.

As for the comments made by Tom and Ewan…I find it a little troubling that Lucerys’ death is something to be made fun of. And then, I suppose they will expect nothing but tears from fans when B&C happens, right? Not a chance.

This interview also kind of puts to rest any of the rumors that these two actors are too “traumatized” to say anything good about the Greens. They clearly had no problem doing that now. They were both open to discussing many scenes without the “fear” that they would receive hate.

This story is about two fucked up siblings that ruined Targaryens.

It's about two greedy, spoiled and cruel siblings who fought for iron throne.

It's not about Alicent and Rhaenyra, it's about Aegon and Rhaenyra.

It's not about a romance between Rhaenyra and Daemon. It's about how their relationship was toxic and how they used each other.

It's not about a hero and villain, it's about two super villain who been nothing but cruel.

It's about a dumb narcissistic woman and a broken mad man.

It's not about beauty and love. It's about blood and war.

The whole point of this book is to show how awful both side were and why because of two cunt house Targaryen fall.

Aegon wasn't a coward who wanted to escape. He did everything to protect his family. He was the one who fought for his family and survived, he was the one who survived the dragon fire while Rhaenyra literally did nothing and watched as her family died. He was the one who lost his everything for something that he never wanted but was forced to accept because he wanted to protect his family. He lost his family that he tried to protect, he lost his children, he lost his pride Sunfyre, he lost his body, he lost his mind, and he was betrayed. He was the most tragic character in the story yet in the show he's just a pedo rapist.

Rhaenyra was a fucking liar, a whore who opened her legs for any man that she liked, a fucking narcissist, she was literally female Maegor yet they maked her the most tragic who only became cruel after her child died even though she was always a spoiled and dumb woman who just wanted to kill anybody who said true about her bastards. Yet they maked her a fucking saint. A boss bitch with her womanly power. Someone who can do no wrong.

I'm so fucking tired of this show.

This woman thinks Rhaenyra had her son murdered, she knows she passed off Harwin's bastards as Laenor's heirs, she knows she married Daemon before her daughter's bones finished charring, she knows that Daemon is a dog shit father to her granddaughters, she knows she wanted Driftmark to go to Baela directly. Her life is nothing but Ls. And yet here she is handing out lectures and projecting about dreaming about the Iron Throne, while her house/family firms the most humiliating disrespect by Rhaenyra and Daemon weekly, and her dumbass husband barks orders from wherever he is now. Having seen the ‘Defend Your Council’ video, I’m *so* tired of the Aemond was bullied as justification for his behavior when his biggest bully growing up was his own brother. (Mind you, this didn’t exist in the books, Aemond was strictly the antagonist there, but I digress).

I need to preface Ewan seems like a totally chill guy and is just talking about his character, but lol, putting a gemstone in his eye didn’t help Aemond rise above losing his eye. It literally becomes the core of who he is, it highlights the loss of his eye, he lets that define him!!!

If you want to see someone who rose above the loss of an eye, look at Bloodraven.

Only non-book readers (which are mostly TG stans, go figure) would claim that Rhaenyra “ran” to Dragonstone.

You do realize that Dragonstone, aside from being the Targaryen ancestral seat, represents a trial-run for the heir to the throne?

You can’t just take over the Seven Kingdoms without actual preparation (well, you can but you risk becoming a terrible ruler).

Rhaenyra didn’t “run” to Dragonstone. She was expected to rule there until the time came for her to ascend the throne. She was the Princess of Dragonstone. Get the picture?

In actual canon, Rhaenyra moved to Dragonstone right after she married Laenor (when she was only 16) and learned to govern, as was expected of her.

The showrunners decided to keep her longer in King’s Landing for the sake of “Court drama”, which (like most things on that show) makes no sense. But eventually, she did come to the realization that she should have left years ago (and told Laenor just that). Yes, she should have.

Because unlike Alicent Hightower and her spawns (who lie around and do nothing - even when they supposedly plan a coup in their heads), Rhaenyra was set to rule the Seven Kingdoms one day and needed to be well prepared for it.

And choosing to go to a place where she was expected to be since coming of age in order to learn to govern, instead of staying at Court and taking shit from a stepmother who has nothing even remotely useful to do with her time (aside from her feet sessions with Larys) is not called “running away”. It’s called being smart.

Aemond didn’t kill Luke in cold blood because he was a salty sociopath, it was an unfortunate accident and he tried to stop Vhagar he lost control of. You can still safely cheer for your precious misunderstood war criminal Aemond.

Rhaenyra doesn’t have Vaemond killed. Daemon does it on his own because he is a piece of shit anyway and we can’t have Rhaenyra get her hands too dirty.

Alicent just didn’t understand Viserys properly and thinks he wanted Aegon on the throne. She is manipulated by all the men around her.

The most basic examples off the top of my head. Love the whitewashing, next we just need:

- Mysaria ordering B&C

- Vhagar deciding to randomly wreak havoc on Riverlands on her own while poor unsuspecting Aemond is eating his salad

- Alicent walking around with wet soppy eyes like always

I have the slight impression that the producers are going to make all of Helaena's suffering pass on to Alicent, and honestly if that happens as it clearly seemed in the trailer, I'll jump on board from my window.

Despite it being something only supposed, this would bother me deeply, considering that the producers have already taken away/put things into us about Alicent that simply weren't necessary at all.

Comparative suffering is something stupid, but I hope they don't take from one to praise the other, considering that one is personally involved, the other is not.
