San Simón, also known as Maximón (pronounced Masheemon), is a folk saint venerated by the Mayan people of Western Guatemala as well as those who practice hoodoo and Spiritism. San Simon is referred to as the “Champion of the Hopeless” because of his willingness to work with just about anyone for just about any request. He is well known for providing folks with the necessities in life; money, health, employment, housing, etc. He is also called upon by those who gamble or play games, for favorable outcomes. He is also known to protect and defend households and his statues are often placed at front doors where he can protect the home with his baton. He has been known to protect from physical intrusion as well as bad luck and illness. Offer him fresh corn tortillas with hot sauce, a glass of fresh water, cigarettes, beans, flowers, copal resin, coins, feathers. Burn copal, or another fine incense, at noon each day for as long as you need his help, or help for a loved one. Place a paper with your request under the candle, tap the glass of water 3 times then recite this prayer; "Oh powerful San Simón, help me with all of my actions and with any dangers that may arise that I may need assistance. If I need help in matters of love, you will draw the one I love closer to me, if it be business, that I will be successful, if it be enemies, that you will help me to overcome them, and to keep hidden troubles away from me. I offer you your cigar, your tortilla, your liquor, and your candles if in return you will keep me safe from any danger I may come across. Then State your petition. Grosse ambiance Halloween pour nos deux saints du 1er siècle Simon et Jude.

Les gars étaient des apôtres de Jésus, après le jour fatal ils sont, comme tous les autres, partis évangéliser un coin sur terre , et comme le monde est petit ils se sont retrouvés de l'autre côté de l'euphrate en perse aujourd'hui on dirait dans le Caucase quoi, particulièrement l'Arménie.

Mais bon à l'époque c'était pas très accueillant pour les chrétiens, même quand t'étais apôtre. Et là où on est bien dans l'ambi Halloween c'est que nos deux saints sont représentés avec les accessoires qui ont signé leur fin: une scie pour Simon (il s'est fait découper en deux genre mauvais tour de magie), et une massue pour saint Jude ! Massacre à la tronçonneuse n'a qu'à bien se tenir !

Leurs reliques sont réparties entre l'abkhasie et la basilique saint Pierre de Rome.

Évidemment comme pour tous les apôtres c'est gros bordel sur la véracité de leur existence. En même temps ils sont douze à s'appeler Simon, Jude s'appelle aussi Thadée comment voulez vous qu'on confonde pas leur vie avec d'autres. Apparemment ils étaient couz avec Jésus mais c'est écrit frères dans la bible. Franchement c'est plus un cours de généalogie que l'histoire de Simon et Jude dans la bible. Si c'est votre cam faites vous plaisir !

See English ⏩ in slides ⤴️ Ступени, которые ведут только вверх. ▪ Это подъем к пещере, где жил свои последние годы св. Апостол Симон Кананит. Тот самый, на чьей свадьбе Христос претворил воду в вино. С проповедью Евангелия он дошел до мест, которые сейчас именуются Абхазией, до поселения, бывшего на месте нынешнего Нового Афона. Здесь он проповедовал, здесь принял мученический венец. К пещере, где молился и жил Апостол, сейчас ведут ступени, которые появились лишь в 1888 г. к приезду Царской Семьи во главе с Александром III. До этого паломники, как и сам Апостол, могли проникнуть в грот лишь через отверстие, которое находится гораздо выше по склону горы, почти под сводом пещеры. ▪ Подъем по ступеням, отполированным тысячами ног, мне почти всегда дается не очень легко - как-никак, в Абхазии я бываю, когда жарко, а подъем не совсем короткий... но уже на входе в пещеру вся усталость забывается. Остаешься только ты - и благодать святого места (даже когда здесь людно).
