• If it was in his route, where he grew an attachment towards Yui, then Shuu would be upset or at least tone down his hurt.

“What insolent prey. She will be awaiting severe punishment, for when she returns… She shall learn to never attempt or even dream upon the notion of such a foolish act.”

• Reiji Will be ready to whip out the punishment/torture devices they have in the manors dungeon.

• Once he does find Yui, make no mistake, Yui will be in for hell.

Ayato:

“Ugh! Chichinashi left without a trace!? How dare she… leave Ore-sama! She’ll pay for this. Oh, I’ll make sure of it…!”

• Arguably one of the most upset out of the brothers.

• He lost his property, so for that to occur, it’d be a bruise on his ego as well.

Kanato:

“Eh…? Yui’s gone? Where did she go?! Why has she run away…? Prey isn’t supposed to run away!! How could she leave us… What a selfish woman…!”

• Kanato will throw a tantrum over this, so it will take him some time emotionally to recover from the loss.

• Due to his abandonment issues, Kanato keeps people close, always with the underlying fear that they may leave. So this may have only worsened them.

Laito:

“Fufu~ Woman are quite self serving, aren’t they? Perhaps she’s found herself new boy toys to satisfy her… Not to worry, she’ll be back. She has to be.”

• He’ll be really ominous about how he truly feels on the ordeal.

• Laito won’t outright say how he’s feeling, but it will be a mix of betrayal (in a sense,) and slight anger. It all stems back from inferiority complexes, and with trauma, how those elevate themselves to be perceived as anything other than that.

Subaru:

“Tch! She left…! They always do… Maybe, this was for the better. At least now, wherever she is, she’ll be safe…”

• Subaru would be upset, of course, and will destroy things in a rage.

• But he will be the most empathetic one of the brothers, and understand that if Yui didn’t leave, she would have died later on. Basically in her doing what he suggested at the start, Subaru can’t get as mad.

I read your post about Ayato overhype and I 200% agree with you and appreciate you for writing it. I also read that other person's Ayato analysis and I just gotta say that that cursed fig defense is so dumb. First off that shit wasn't a thing when More Blood came out. It's not mentioned or referenced even once in any route. Because why would it be? It wasn't even thought of when the first games came out. Second even if it were a thing and Ayato truly was cursed, then why doesn't he experience the effects of the curse in any routes apart from his More Blood one (and, according to this particular Ayato stan, Ruki's)? Why doesn't he go crazy from thirst in Kou's route? Or in Subaru's? Or in Shuu's? etc etc. Also, if the curse is truly that excrutiating and debilitating then shouldn't Ayato be a complete and utter mess in the other characters Dark Fate, Lost Eden etc. routes? But he's not. He's totally fine. Because the stupid curse isn't canon to the games and you can not and should not use it to explain or justify his awful behavior in Ruki's MB route.

I'm sorry this got kind of long but I just needed to get this off my chest because it bothers me so much when toxic Ayato stans insist he is oh so pure of heart, an innocent victim and that he unlike the other characters can't be held accountable for his abusive acts 😑

the curse thing is such a loop/plot hole because in more blood EVERY diaboy gets thirsty after starting to have feelings for Yui, so yeah that curse thing isn't canon. and exactly! if that's the case, why isn't ayato suffering from thirst in other's route. okay let's not include MB considering the argument "they weren't close enough" but by the DF, all Sakamaki and Mukami boys warmed up to Yui, so Ayato should be suffering from thirst/curse in other's route????

I liked ayato, but after youngblood when I saw some people(not targeting to anyone, and I'm not just talking about Tumblr), not liking other people shipping Yui with any other boy because "they are not canon" made me slowly detach from AyaYui. otherwise they were in my top 5 a few years ago.

youngblood was just a fanservice. it was good for Ayato fans but Rejet messed it up. first the curse thing then the degrading of Shu and Subaru's character by making them "betray" ayato. which irks me because we all have read flashback scenes of these two from the VERY FIRST GAME, and we are completely aware with how sweet and gentle they were in childhood.

In CL, in Shu's route, it was shown how much he deeply cares about his brothers despite not showing it. so does it go for Subaru in Carla's route. you hear it? not in his OWN route but Carla's route.

the only difference is, because of trauma they weren't sure how to express it and always doubted/hesitated to trust or show true feelings to each other because of what happened to them. they all went through different experiences.

Ayato is Ruki's rival, just like how Subaru is for Kou, and Shu for Yuma. Ayato just came to take away Yui as a prey. "his thirst wasn't controllable and was locked in a dungeon. it was definitely the curse."

the curse didn't even exist at that time. it was just Rejet's plot to progress Ruki's route because if we remember, Ruki asked Ayato, before he took away Yui, if he had feelings for her and ayato replied with, feelings??? that's nonsense, the only value she has is her blood. It was a scene of confirmation to make Ruki realise his feelings and stop thinking "Adam is what she needs and not a snake" so that he can finally betray Karlheinz for Yui and run away with her, free her from this hell.

in conclusion, we have seen every diaboy saying how unique and special Yui's blood is, also a very rare thing (i guess?) so because of instincts as a vampire, Ayato only wanted to find Yui to drink her special blood.

the curse thing can never be canon because everyone gets thirsty in their route, EVEN SHIN in his BRUTE ending in DF. so are they cursed too??? no they aren't 😭

some actions can never be justifiable, I'll even say that about my own fav characters like Shin, Subaru, Carla, Reiji, etc.

1) "Shuu: …Pervert. Where are you looking?" Shuu’s first point is to state that Yui/MC/Player is a pervert. This highlights his personality and how quick he is to tease.

2) "Shuu: When I came here, the water was already in there, so I entered." Shuu’s depiction of laziness is shown as he can’t even bother to run himself a bath, and instead, choosing to take the longer route in using someone else’s bath. This is one of the many instances that show his laziness and sloth as a character.

3) "Shuu: That being said, even if I were to drown to death here, it doesn’t concern you, does it? If anything, it should play to your advantage." As the Player, we can assume that Shuu has no regard for his life, stating that it doesn’t matter if he were to die. This also gives the Player information on how Shuu understands Yui’s position as a sacrificial bride— better stated as a Blood Bag. When stating that Yui/MC/Player should use his supposed drowning as an advantage, he is speaking of Yui escaping the house, alongside the bloodthirsty vampires.

4) "Yui: F-For one, you are still the person I chose. If you were to die, it’d be troublesome for me too." Yui/MC/Player confirms our thoughts. If she were to be left alone without the superficial shield of her choosing (the boy she chose,) she would be rendered defenceless.

5) "Shuu: Haha… What are you getting all flustered for? Did you come to see me naked after all?" Shuu’s perverse nature appears only when he is engaging with Yui/MC/Player. He also only seems to have energy for when he is teasing her.

see I was deep in the trenches because I was obsessed with the dating game before the anime was even out. mind you the game is completely in Japanese but back in 2012 there were alot of blogs on here who'd do translations of the game and every route - I love the game alot more than the anime because it reads more like a dark romance. ayato and shuu are my favorite sakamakis - ruki is my favorite mukami - and I love carla and shin equally. to this day I still look up the tag just to see what else is new because even more than a decade later the game is STILL getting updates.

ayato and yui are REAL lovers and ayato in the game is so much more complex like he's just a babyboy that's my boyfriend fr my first true love - my first internet hyperfixation.

Admin's Thoughts About the Mukami Brothers' MB Routes Part 1: Mukami Yuuma

I will publish these in the same order I originally played the Mukami routes in More, Blood.

When my friend introduced me to Diabolik Lovers, she told me that the Mukamis were "the wrong family" and "no one is supposed to like them". I didn't have high expectations because of that, but these days the Mukamis are my favorite family. My friend called me a cheater because of that. 🤣

Yuuma was the first Mukami whose route I played. I got so annoyed with him on Reiji's route that I figured I wouldn't like him. Hence I wanted to get his route out of my list.

But the funny thing, Yuuma warmed me up rather nicely and fast, too. He's grumpy and violent, yes, and so damn rude, but I can see he has a golden heart. For some reason, I have noted in my gaming diary that Yuuma tore Yui's clothes several times. I surely hope that he bought her new ones, at least. He probably didn't.

Soon, Yui noticed that the Mukamis seem to be closer to each other as a family than the Sakamakis, and well, I feel that way too. Their family dynamics are interesting and sometimes heartwarming to watch, even though they have fights, too.

What I really liked was Yuuma's way of stuffing things into Yui's mouth. He gave her sugar from mouth to mouth and fed her with peaches. And the fact that Yuuma cooked for Yui is so sweet. To be honest, I have forgotten that scene, but apparently, I have written about it in my diary. 🤭 I should play the route again.

I also liked how Yuuma wants to change the world for the better and more equal place. He opens up a bit about his past to Yui, which is a good thing if you ask me.

Still, I would have hoped that he wasn't so violent toward Yui on his own route... I got annoyed by him on Reiji's route because he hit Yui there. I hoped he wouldn't do that on his own route, but, oh well, it's Diabolik Lovers for a reason.

Yuuma's backstory with Shuu is one of the most interesting points on his route, and I was a bit sad that they didn't makeup during the route. Also, I got even more pissed with Reiji because he didn't allow Yuuma to even speak to Shuu after Yuuma had remembered what happened in the past.

Another interesting revelation on Yuuma's route was his virginity. Before that, I had assumed that all Diaboys had banged their prey whenever they got a chance, but not Yuuma. I honestly like the idea that Yui was his first.

Even though I had mixed feelings toward Yuuma, in the end, I enjoyed his route a lot and totally loved the After Story. He is adorable with his manners of stuffing things into Yui's mouth and with being a blushing grumpy. Also, the marriage thing and the talk about future plans made me teared up.

Yuuma gave me a better start with the Mukamis than I assumed. He didn't have my heart completely, but he greatly warmed me up. And while the Sakamakis were the ones that kind of lured me in (since I played HDB first), Yuuma pushed me toward my current hyper-fixation with the series and lured me into spending more time with the Mukamis. Such a sweet, grumpy boy~

• Shuu may be better at hiding it, but he’s just as much as a pervert as Laito is, if not more.

• So he’ll take it as an excuse to go lingerie shopping or something. Basically find his own motivations to take advantage of.

Reiji:

“As long as it is solely for an occupation, I see nothing wrong with the sort. However, it is solely for occupation. Nothing more.”

• For Reiji, he can understand where people come from in terms of needing jobs and acquiring money, and for this he wouldn’t be a large opposition to it.

• But due to his traditionalist views, he may think of it as a bit too provocative, but nonetheless would attempt to put his own differences aside.

Ayato:

“I picked a good one, didn’t I! Just make sure to leave Ore-sama a seat at all your photoshoots, alright.”

• Ayato would be excited since it gives him an excuse to look at his S/O without anyone saying anything to him.

• But keep in mind, he’s possessive, so if anyone were to look at his S/O the wrong way, he will throw hands.

Kanato:

“Hm… Does that mean you’ll play dress up with me? I have so many designs to try… Fufu~ this shall be fun.”

• Kanato canonically sews and is interested in all of that, so expect him to use the fact his S/O is a model to his advantage.

• He may feel a certain type of way due to them being a VSS Model, but nonetheless he’ll do his best to be supportive even if he has his slight insecurity.

Laito:

“Ah, is that so? Hmm… Will you model for me sometime Bitch-chan? We can make our own photoshoot out of it, fufu~!”

• With Laito always expect something to do with sexual innuendos.

• He’ll use this as a way to tease his S/O, and mainly enjoy himself if anything.

Subaru:

“That… that’s pretty cool… I dunno how I feel about it, but I guess if it makes you happy. J-Just remember who you’re with, dumbass!”

• Subaru wouldn’t admit it but he’d buy all of the magasine covers that his S/O is in.

• He may even go the large route and secretly keep tabs on his S/O, since he wouldn’t want anything to happen to them, and due to his own slight interest.
