HELLO SAMPARD NATION!!! I return for sampard week. Unfortunately I will not be able to partake in any of the actual prompt lists. BUT I wanted to do something because it’s one of my favorite ships kind of ever so I thought “why not finally make a full piece about a sampard based au I’ve had for a while?”so as you can see that’s what I did lol. The au I call it the dreamhopper au and basically to summarize; Gepard has really bad night terrors, and in this au Sampo has the ability to dreamhop and basically kinda messes with Gepard and they get into situations and hyjinx ensues. Of course him “messing” with Gepard also doubles to serve to keep Gepard’s night terrors away so he can actually sleep. But erm yeah :D happy sampard week!!

Day 3 of Sampard Week 2024, Neighbors

There was only one thing that really got Sampo Koski out of bed in the morning— something that he never really expected— and honestly, it was a little silly.

The first time it had happened was the day after the landlord informed him of someone moving in next door. At the time, he really hadn't thought much about it, since he had just gotten home from his job— but oh boy had he been thinking about it when he had been trudging out of his apartment and ran smack into said new neighbor and nearly falling flat on his ass if he hadn't gotten caught.

That was the first time Sampo had met his new neighbor, halfway back into his own apartment with his arms haphazardly grabbed to make sure he didn't hit the ground.

"Sir— sir, are you ok? Im so sorry, I just got back from my shift—" By the time he had gotten his bearings back, he had been steadied back on his feet, Sampo managing to snap himself out of his sleepiness in order to properly take in the sight. Blond hair, blue eyes— light freckles, to— wait, the guy was probably waiting for him to respond-

"Nah, dun worry about it." Managing to shake himself together, Sampo tugged a grin to his face, one that quickly got wiped away by a yawn. Almost immediately, the blondie yawned as well, blinking a bit as he covered his mouth. Seems like he hadn't been expecting that one. "Your ole pal here is just uh— bit sleepy, yknow— mornings aint my thing."

Day 2 of Sampard Week is up!

"Aeons, if I had known this would happen Mr. Gepard, I woulda been better prepared!" Luka scratched the back of his neck, sheepish red growing on his face. Gepard just smiled at him, taking another drink from the cool can Sampo had snagged from a vending machine. It certainly helped, but Gepard was still a little baffled about how anyone could wear a long sleeve in this weather— looking around, most people seemed to be wearing one!

"Its alright, Luka, there's no way we really could have predicted this. You were fine, and so was Sampo and a few of the other negotiators we've sent." He chuckled, reaching up to ruffle Luka's hair and making the man flush a little more in embarrassment. "Its probably because I spend most of my time actually in the cold— how did Lynx survive this..."

"Thats for sure. Take it from your good pal that you gotta get in the city more often!" Sampo grinned as he leaned on Gepard's shoulder, the captain barely flinching as he took another drink.

"I'll think about it." Sampo groaned at Gepard's mild response, collapsing further against his partner with a pout on his face.

Day 1 Of Sampard Week 2024 is up!!

"Its likely a packaging error." Gepard had carefully set them aside with his belongings, only a curious Dunn who even dared to follow him hanging out. "It wouldn't be the first time."

At the time, it seemed to be a reasonable assumption. Sending flowers to the frontlines were a rare occurance, and despite Serval's status as a divorced middle aged woman, she still had quite a few suitors of all types. Some as dramatic as attempting to afford an entire bouquet just to impress her, and Gepard had had some experience being a conduit to get her things (looking sideways at Dunn himself right now).

But then it happened again. With different flowers.

And again.

And… again.

"Don't think you can claim the fifth week as another packaging error." Dunn had gotten a sidelong glare at that but he just shrugged in the face of it. "Do you recognize that flower, then?"

"…no."

yall know what time it is

For funsies whenever I do challenge stuff like this, I like to look back on the work I put and think over the decisions I made while on a time crunch!!

And since Sampard Week has come to an end once again, I might as well make the review public and open for the masses to see.

Each oneshot will be graded on a 0-10 scale determined by how much I think i put into the oneshot- by effort, consistency, continuity, characterization, and enjoyment in making. I will attempt to be fair to myself, its been a rough and stressful week on top of it, so lets just dive in headfirst!

all fics will be linked in this post as well, so consider it a masterpost of sorts.

Day 1 - Flowers | 6/10

Honestly this one was difficult. I was really struggling with the angle to take with this oneshot, and it took me more then a bit to settle on a draft I liked and could continue with. It was definitely more of an art prompt then a writing prompt, being so broad and vague means making a story out of it can be rather daunting or difficult. But in the end, Im content with how it turned out, even if it was the start of my mental deterioration with writing Sampo. So a bit of a rough start, but overall it works.

Day 2 - Traveling | 5/10

I love this one, I genuinely do. But uh- this was sampard week. not gepard is an uncle and sampos just there week. ADAJRJSJFJ

Seriously- I loved writing this, but I also found it to deviate a little to much towards the end from the original meaning for the post. It was meant to be a lot less focused on Luka and more on Gepard getting heatstroke and Sampo being Sampo. Not to mention, this fic has.. alot of errors.... I recently switched over to a new writing software, and it was after this fic that I learned where the autocorrect button was. Yeesh.

Day 3 - Neighbors | 8/10

This one? Good shit.

I LOVED writing this one. Since it was a 5+1, I felt like I could take it a bit easier with the scenes, and it meant I could delve a bit more into Sampo's character in a more modern setting. While this fic is truly where my frustrations with writing Sampo came to light, I feel like I did a good job at making peace with the part of me that yells the universe is gonna collapse if I dare to take a step to far from canon behavior. Its cute, its sweet, Gepard worked at FNaF, we had fun.

Day 4 - Domestic | 0/10.

i did not write. I cannot review writing where THERE IS NONE AHDHAJR

I do think this is a cute doodle for barely 15 minutes - i.. mixed up the band au days and skipped ahead mentally and forgot domestic was a prompt.. so uh yeah this entire came out of my panic of realizing oh shit. I dont have time to write a oneshot. and i dont have any ideas. BAM. so yeah a doodle!

Day 5 - Band AU | 7/10

i love plotless sillies.

Honestly this fic was meant to have a LOT more plot. It was originally Sampo going to a mechanical fever concert to check out the band since he wanted to audition as their drummer and then he just started crushing on the bassist. But then I went - im already being ultra indulgent by giving Gepard a bass and Sampo fishnet. And I want them to make out.

so yeah, i basically just went down the route of indulgence. I do wish I had written more- but it was during the writing of this oneshot that my stress had shot to an all time high and I ended up getting really sick from it for the rest of the week. So it has a lot of missed potential and while its good as it is, its one I would adore re-writing one day to give it a bit more oumph.

Day 6-7 - Dreams, Free Day | 8/10

As per last year, free day I did an Akrasia one shot. (For those of you who dont know, Akrasia is my sampard longfic that is an Alternate Canon based around the idea of what if Gepard went to the underground with the trailblazers) And I was like eh why the fuck not - Akrasia just turned a year old, so !!

And thus, this was born. I had no idea what to do for Day 6's prompt either, and as I sat on it over the week I realized that it would be best to combine the two as it would one- give me a rest day to hang out and touch grass and two- let me get a bit more in touch with the concept and explore it further. Akrasia is in a bit of a tight spot right now - I want to do more with it , but Im afraid of writing something that will conflict with a promise I made to write Akrasia's sequel should we go back to Belobog with a Sampo-central storyline. Which is why this oneshot is sent so far in the future, and even then I didnt do NEARLY as much as I wanted to. I wanted to more deeply establish the strain on them both for Sampo coming back, for the deeply seeded fear of failure that was planter in Gepards heart. I wanted to explore a bit more of Gepards arm lore since its a huge part of Akrasias base storyline, I wanted to touch a bit more on Sampo dodging around the universe after the Trailblazers, but in the end I am content and even happy with what came out of it. Their both just tired and deserve to rest with each other at the end of the day.

Aaand yeah thats about it. honestly surprised i survived the week , and even more so that I managed to finish on time , with almost every fic being nearly 3k words.

At the end I understand a few more flaws in my work - i use to many commas and tied together sentances, I struggle with overly formal word choice, etc - but its alot of fun to test these kinda things out. See where I was last year and know that I did better this year .

Sampard Week Day 5 - Band Au

Gepard glanced up from his finishing touches with his bass at the sound of a rustle. Sampo had rolled over onto the ground, managing to swing around his feet to get himself upright, sly grin making the snake bite piercings on his lower lip stretch out a little bit. Already deadpan disapproval was starting to stretch over his face but Sampo held no regard for it as the bass was set gently aside and the cushion dipped under the weight of Sampo's knee.

"Sampo."

Sampo only grinned in the face of warning. A thumb tugged at Gepard's lower lip, Sampo's free hand pressed against the back of the couch cushions. Neither did anything to break eye contact, a silent stare-down before Gepard's carefully crafted plain expression cracked to betray his interest, makeup covering the red in his face. Hands slowly lifted to land on Sampo's hips, leather of thin gloves pressing up slightly against the skin where Sampo's shirt rode up.

"You better not mess up my hair or smudge my makeup."
