Last nights art show with Erik Abel at Brophy Art Gallery was the biggest shin-dig we ever had! 💃🏼 Thanks 🙏 to Erik for making beautiful art that was EASY to sell! 😄 And so much gratitude to PJ and his crew at Rip Curl for sponsoring it. They brought the music 🎶 by the ah-ma-zing legend Tom Curren and his son Pat, and they sprung for delicious tacos and refreshments. AND Rip Curl helped get the people there. The people are key to fun and success of an event like this! Grateful for the community, friends and collectors who came for the art and music. Much thanks to all who bought art last night. Feels good to see Erik’s art spread out into San Clemente and into the homes of many of my good friends and clients. I’m so lucky to have a dream team of people to help make a memorable night! Thanks to @christine_e_odonnell who makes sure everything gets done ✔️ and to @zalloon_ for doing anything it takes and to @philrobertsart for his expertise in curating and placement and to my hubby @drewbrophy for doing more than he should! 🌅🌊 What an absolute stunner we witnessed our first night in @visitsanclementeca while walking to the end of the pier. It ended up being the most impressive of the days we were there, with the sun gently gliding over the horizon as you gaze gets lost on the ripples of the mighty Pacific Ocean that have been calmed a bit in the bay from the protection of the Channel Islands. TUBE RACING 🌊 I painted the original Tube Racing painting 20 years ago for my first art show in a gallery in Laguna Beach, California. 🌴🌴🌴 When I did the sketches for this painting, I wanted a cool layout of 2 giant tidal wave tubes, racing towards the sun. And Tube Racing is what came from it. The original painting sold in early 2000's. I have a stack of these vintage lithograph paper prints left, that I kept safe in storage.
