Imagine Me And You - Sarah Porter/Jenny Shepard
A/N: Part 10 for @storiesofsvu 's Birthday Bingo.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Despite everything, Sarah Porter longs for the woman she knows had faked her own death. So, despite the risks, she finds herself imagining them being together. She’s not usually the type to masturbate, but the masturbation is all she needs lately, even as she daydreams about the feeling of skin on skin, the soft huskiness of Jenny’s voice in her ear, the way Jenny would touch her. She will, she thinks, have to risk it one day and seek the woman out.  The risk, she thinks, will be worth it. She hopes, deep down, to one day have the chance to find out.

I think Todd in the Shadows is also a good example of how long it can take to put out videos, if you're researching / writing / producing them yourselves:
One a month? One every three months? It takes time to do all this.
If someone is dropping a weekly hour-long commentary video that isn't just them podcast-ranting about too many gays, they either work with a team, or are stealing.
And if they work with a team, they should credit them, so we know whose art or words are a part of this.
Sarah Z does it like this.
Jenny Nicholson does two huge videos a year, because I'm pretty sure she does them all herself. This content takes MONTHS to put together.
If you like a non-corporate channel and they're dropping slick videos daily or weekly, that's a red flag. You should probably narrow your eyes at where this content is coming from.
...Or they just don't sleep and use hard stimulants. But that also makes the content suspect, in its own ways.
You're not an unsupervised 11 year old. Be more mindful about what you're consuming. Stop generating revenue for dipshits who don't want real jobs.
"HEY I DON'T CARE IT IS JUST CONTENT I'M TIRED AND -- "
You can either stand against the dystopia, or get eaten by it. Grow the fuck up.

The women at this dinner are SO. DONE.
Tori, who has anticipated the dynamics at this dinner all along and has pegged David immediately as the slimeball he is, is clearly wondering how she got sat between these two massive male egos. She's armed and ready for her confrontations with David (perhaps even looking forward to them just a tiny bit?) when things take a turn for the worse. Protective older sister mode activated.
Tumblr media
I debated adding Jane here, but she's reacting to the posturing and conflict between the men just as much as Tori or Sarah, so she deserves to be included. She spends the meal deflecting, changing topics, trying to keep the conversation in safe waters. She silently but visibly disagrees when Charlie downplays his rugby abilities (thank you, someone, for acknowledging he's not actually that bad!). But when Nick finally confronts David, her face shows dread. Anyone who's read Alice's cannon knows Jane has a complicated family history riddled with conflict, and her instinctive fear shows clearly in this moment before she realizes that Nick is going to handle this problem gracefully rather than violently.

And Sarah. Having seen how lovingly she navigates life with Nick and how sensitively she helps him with his problems, we can only imagine that she has to have been pushed to the absolute edge by her time with Stephane to react the way she does here. I'm not even getting into the second half of the argument after Nick leaves the table--that's a whole other post--but Sarah is completely comfortable placing the blame squarely where it belongs, even in front of company. Sarah Nelson, putting men in their place left and right.
Tumblr media
Leading ladies, indeed.

I've never seen Legs again. The rest of us, we've drifted. But we embrace when we meet, veterans of a sort.
Bound together for life.

in season 3's prom episode of derry girls, it was clear that the dynamics between the mothers when they were in high school were replicated in the next generation too. The four women attended the prom with Diedre's cousin accompanying her (and then all of them). So we have four girls and a male cousin of one of them which is just like the Derry girls' situation. And Rob was openly gay. Doesn't this hint at James being gay/queer too ?

Gentle Help - Jenny Shepard/Sarah Porter
A/N: Part 4/5 for @soheavyaburden 's prompts for this week of A Year of Whump
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Help with paperwork was rare. Jenny Shepard, NCIS Director, knew that more than anyone, so when she finds Sarah Porter, SecNav, hiding in her office she’s quick to shut and lock the door, dropping into a seat beside Sarah to look the papers over, her voice soft at the way Sarah’s breath catches. “Just let me help, you’ll be okay.” Silence falls as she reads the paper, then makes sense of it, her voice gentle as she explains what most of it means, smiling when Sarah is able to fill out the form and sign off on the paperwork. It’s clear from the way Sarah’s smile breaks out that she has been more than a little stressed. “See, I’ve got your back. Just breathe.”
