Possible angst idea, that I don't see explored very often: Sasuke dying in the SasukeVSItachi fight

Idk how it could happen, maybe Itachi overestimates Sasuke's abilities and accidentally goes too far or something like that, Idk, I just like the idea

I can't necessarily see Itachi going too far. The fight with Sasuke is just too important to him.

You know who I could see causing a problem for them though? Danzo. He's been keeping his eyes on the Akatsuki's movements, especially now that he is the last person to know the truth about Itachi, and we know he and Orochimaru were working together before so I wouldn't be surprised if Danzo had information from Orochimaru about Sasuke's actions. At the very least I'm sure he would be the first to know when Sasuke kills Orochimaru. It's a perfect opportunity for him. A chance to take out the last two (to his knowledge) remaining Uchiha threats without anyone having any reason to suspect him. After all, the whole village knows about Sasuke's vendetta against Itachi, and well, Itachi is a clan killer, a bloodthirsty psychopath as far as the village is concerned. It isn't that far fetched to think that the brothers might kill each other when they finally clash. So Danzo is waiting in the shadows with a handful of root operatives when Sasuke shows up to fight Itachi. Danzo waits until the fight is close to over. Itachi is weakening due to the drain on his chakra and his already disease riddled body. Danzo knows that Itachi can't actually intend on killing Sasuke after the lengths he went to in order to protect him, so as Itachi is approaching Sasuke in the Susano, a hail of Kunai come flying from both sides. There's no where for Sasuke to escape to and Itachi can't shield both sides of him. Sasuke slumps to the ground in a pool of blood and Itachi stands there for what feels like an eternity, horror stricken. His body is so close to giving out. He looks up to see Danzo's face, to see the man he hates so much smiling victoriously. Itachi forces himself to hold on. He shunts Chakra away from every non vital part of his body, pushing blood to his heart and his lungs while everything else starts to shut down. He's almost completely numb, but he isn't willing to let go yet. Danzo has caused enough suffering. Itachi is determined to make him face justice.

It's a battle of sharingan. Danzo of course has all the sharingan he stole, but Itachi is uniquely gifted in the use of genjutsu. More so than any other Uchiha in living memory. Even with his body actively shutting down, Itachi outclasses Danzo.

In the end, it comes down to one last Sharingan. Shisui's eye. And Danzo tries his last gamble. He tries casting Kotoamatsukami against Itachi.

The crow comes out of seemingly nowhere. The crow containing the eye that Danzo had thought was long since destroyed. The eye that matches the one in his head. And with it, Kotoamatsukami is countered seamlessly, leaving Danzo helpless as Itachi uses the very last of his chakra to trap Danzo. Not in Tsukuyomi, but with the use of Izanami. Justice. Forcing Danzo into an endless loop, knowing that the man he is has no hope of escaping. That escaping would mean confronting the full weight of his prejudice against the Uchiha and embracing his guilt for the massacre of the clan.

Kakashi gets there just a few seconds after the fight ends. He gets there just quickly enough to see Itachi's body finally give out. Soon enough to see the fallout. Sasuke dead against the cliff face. Dozens of dead root agents. Danzo, comatose, locked in some kind of endless genjutsu. And Itachi, his last breaths rattling in his chest, his final words forever echoing in Kakashi's mind.

"I'm so sorry, Taicho...please, take him home."

I'm going nuts trying to figure out what actually made it story-wise into new Naruto Live Spectacle: - Tsunade arc gotta happen someway, even tho it's completely out of actual timeline. Or will they skip it???? What a waste. - Saving Kazekage Mission got me like????? No sighn of it as of yet (other than Deidara being in main cast, but that might be for his fight with Sasuke) but they couldnt possibly skip it right? It's one of shippudens jewels, it's crazy important for naruto gaara brotherhood, it introduces jinchuriki as term and shows power of akatsuki. Also badass Sakura action. For the love of god, dont let them skip any of this. But the fact that Sasori is not in main cast kills me with dread. - Sasuke Mission with Sai is a 100% in, all with meeting with Sasuke for the first time after timeskip, and Sai backstory. - Sasuke killing Orochimaru gotta be in, obviously. - Itachi mission is 100% in, seeng beloved red stripe coats and even team 8 present!!1 Bless!!! - Whole team Taka business is in. - Jiraya Arc??? Tied with Pain arc way too much, so if Pain arc didnt made it, Jiraya arc might just as well be moved for mext stage's sake - SasukeVSItachi, the main event of the play. - But then THE biggest question: did Pain arc made it in??? There's a picture with Pain and Konan with Tobi, but they didnt made it in main cast profiles and those are BIG characters. There also a pic with Naruto falling on Kakashi's shoulders and it looks REALLY close to the ending of pain arc, when Kakashi carries Hero of Konoha to villagers. BUT THAT. That means whole deal of pain arc, and Jiraya's arc, and Naruto's sage training and HINATA'S CONFESSION, and NARUTO GOING 8 TAILS AND MEETING DAD?????? holy crap thats a lot. but if they dont do pain arc, then how do they finish this play in high spirits? Because ending it with Sasuke crying over Itachi is way too heavy. Well we have to wait and find out but =_= its killing meee
