Thinking about the saurosapiens from all tomorrows. Imagine finding out horses are genetically mutilated descendents of basically gods and had a massive galactic history before getting reduced to... livestock. Imagine finding ruins made by. Ancient horses. And then just being like "Y'know what, lets go make friends with the other horse civilisations lmao"

Great debate. One of the most important events in the history of saurosapiens, which shed light on their true history. As a result of the debate, the dominant religions collapsed under the influence of new information. Now saurosapiens know who they and their cattle really are.

I watched the movie "Jupiter Ascending" for the second time a little while back, and though I'm not fond of the plot and the characters because of the ridiculous trope of the girl being a class A dumb ass and always having the guy rescue her, I really like the creatures and the technology.

I felt particularly drawn to the character Mr. Greeghan(?) so I drew him. Sargorns remind me of dragonborns.

Felt Like Writing About the Rest of the Crew:

Snake Person Engineer: Vim Salai Varheet- wears a specialized "helmet" around his eyes and ears to help him both see and hear due to a visual and auditory impairment he was born with. The helmet at times makes his job of squeezing between parts of the engine a little more difficult, but he works around it. Arguably one of the most level headed and sensible of the group, despite being the most anxious by nature. Was raised by a rich family amongst much healthier, more able-bodied siblings, and as such has always had an expectation of failure placed upon him which he was determined to disprove; as a result, he has a bad tendency to over exert himself or reject help in any form, and may come across as arrogant.

Modular Person(s) Doctor: Dr. DeaOnirMaitInox- commonly goes by "Doctor D.O.M.I". Actually four different modular people that are married to one another and so fused into one singular entity. Use they/them pronouns and constantly refer to themselves as "we" or "us". Their true name is all four of their individual names combined together, as is the custom in modular person marriage. They are an expert on the anatomy of several different post-human races and a master of medicine. Basically a parent friend, kind and caring and a little protective of their crew mates. They have several stingers filled with a numbing toxin that they inject into their patients in heavily-moderated doses to help manage pain; too much can be extremely lethal. Can be almost obsessive when it comes to the safety and health of their crew mates, and at times forgets they are seperate individuals instead of another part of the mass.

Saurosapien Gunner: Sahla Merrim- The gunner of the crew, responsible for both the team's weapons and security of the ship. Grew up in a particularly rural part of her home planet, and took to the stars to look for a better life than what she had been offered. Almost entirely self-educated, with an encyclopedic knowledge of all sorts of weapons and defense systems from various parts of the galaxy, she could very well make a formidable foe if her interest wasn't entirely motivated by simple fanatic passion rather than violence. She tends to be a more down-to-earth individual, but doesn't mind being roped into Braendi's (often) stupid antics if it means fun; stupidity is better than boredom, after all.

all tomorrows species variants!

feel free to use any for yourselves, i truly don’t mind! these are all the same species and of course mixes exist. a minor criticism i’ve seen of all tomorrows is that the species feel like “planets of hats”, but i’ve always had a lot of ideas in my head about variants and the like! in the end, these species are human. i believe they are just as diverse as humanity. this is not a comprehensive list at all and only goes through a few species and not all possible variants.

saurosapients

i already made an image for this, so i’ll try my absolute keep it brief despite my unstoppable urge to infodump. - common: green or brown with weak spines down neck to tail. they look a lot like featherless dinosaurs, like an old interpretation of a velociraptor.  - spiny: black or brown. spines are raised all around, and sauros of this variant usually end up shaving down their spines like fingernails twice a month. closest comparison i can think of is a bearded dragon. - feathered: tapped into their ancient dinosaur roots. general scales are always white, black, brown, or green, but feathers come in all sorts of colors, just like birds and how dinosaurs probably looked! feather dye is often sold among them. - skink: blue or brown shimmery scales with no spines. their tail is longer than the average sauro, and their tongues are larger and come in different colors. closest to, you guessed it, a skink. - frilled: yellow, brown, or orange. a frill rests around their necks, and they can flare it up to intimidate others or as an expression of social display. frilled sauros often tattoo these frills with intricate patterns! most like a frilled lizard.

killer folk

- common: brown fur with spots. those assigned male at birth always have tufts of fur down their chin. with estrogen supplements and shaving this tuft can be completely eliminated. likewise, testosterone supplements can make it form on those assigned female at birth and also lead to increased growth. this tuft is far less prominent on other variants. - snow leopard: white fur with spots. the ancestors of these killer folk lived in cold areas filled with snow, and adapted to this. their fur is a lot longer and fluffier than that of other killer folk. their eyes are also often much brighter colors. - caracal: brown fur, no spots. their ear tufts are greatly exaggerated and very noticeable compared to other variants. i headcanon killer folk to have very minor, subtle whiskers that can barely be seen. so caracal killer folk have much more defined whiskers that can actually be seen with the naked eye. - bingus: hairless. needs no explanation.  - tiger: orange or yellow fur with long, striking black stripes. ear tufts are not on the tips of their ears, but on the inside. whiskers are slightly more pronounced, but you can only really see them when you’re up close.  - tabby: shorter than other variants, with larger eyes and all sorts of patterns. fur can brown, white, orange, or grey with all sorts of stripes and markings. the second most fluffy behind snow leopard variants.

snake people

- common: green skin, a relic of their time as mammalian tree snakes, where they hid in green leaves. comes in diverse shades.  - deep underground: ghostly pale skin from living many generations deep underground. they are known for having poorer eyesight and sharper senses of smell and hearing compared to other variants.  - sunny folk: more hair and more “human” skin tones. called the sunny folk because they’ve always lived closer to the sun, windows above their tightly-knit underground tunnels.  - python: small amounts of scales around the body. their skin comes in all sorts of patterns and colors, like actual reptilian snakes.  - cobra: skin looks like either that of a common snake person or that of a sunny folk variant. a bit like the frilled saurosapien variant. much like them, they also tattoo their neck-flaps with vibrant patterns! 

i’m gonna make another post with variants for the tool breeders, sail people, bug facers, and maybe even the qu later!! this is just what i have for now...

doqotee is a saurosapien archaeologist, and flower is her pet who's essentially the human-derived version of a shih tzu.

I was also thinking about a saurosapien magical girl whose steed also transformers into a magical human steed, and a tool breeder magical girl whose sentient tools are imbued with magic, and her little head breathing apparatus gets all shiny and flowy

All Tomorrows OCs (a.k.a. The Interplanetaries)

Dhustynh Prowler is a pacifist Killer Folk who looks like he’s cosplaying as Indiana Jones. He has golden fur, green eyes and black hair with blonde highlights. Despite the fact that he’s vowed never to take the life of another sapient being, he tends to get quite hotheaded.

Herbert Dacius, also known by his stage name “Space Age Herbie” and simply “Herbie” to his friends, is a Satyriac with two toned hair: one side is blue and silver, the other is red and gold. He’s the designated weird one of his friend group, extremely excitable, worryingly energetic and constantly hopping from one obsession to the next. He loves his friends and music more than anything else.

Kwynn Von Python is a Snake Person author, known only by their strange nom de plume. They have green eyes and pinkish skin and always wear a cute blue sweater. They love nothing more than curling up with a good book and having a smoke and their friends often turn to them seeking knowledge/wisdom etc. Definitely the shy yet smart type, yet they always manage to come out of their shell among their closest friends.

Natalli Strider is a Saurosapien who is always accompanied by her human steed, Chuck. She’s quite the thrill seeker and often is the instigator of many an adventurous journey. Despite this, she often ends up being the voice of reason when the going gets tough. She has golden eyes, a red body and blue limbs and tail, similar to a strawberry poison dart frog. Aside from mumbling and shuffling around, Chuck doesn’t do very much aside from being his owner’s preferred method of transportation.

And why are they called The Interplanetaries you may ask? Because that’s what they do. They’re pioneers in the art - and science - of space travel (at least for each of their respective species). This quartet (or quintette if you include Chuck) travel to all sorts of different worlds, some of which offer safety, friendship and discovery, while others are fraught with danger. But no matter what, they always stick together and take each day as it comes, and that’s all that matters.

(As of the time of writing this, I haven’t yet decided if they actually meet in person or if they’re travelling in separate crafts and communicating via holograms. This idea is still in its infancy.)

not an ask really, feel free to disregard! naga on earth? I dig it. in reference to 'snake-like creatures' from a recent publishing of yours. naga: (in mythology) a member of a semidivine race, part human, part cobra in form, associated with water and sometimes with m-y-s-t-i-c-a-l i-n-i-t-i-a-t-i-o-n. saurosapiens are one of my favourite conjectures. it's likely the lizardpeople created the catastrophy that wiped out the dinosaurs. have a nice day! love and peace!

Braendi: "He was tired and I have the thickest thighs on this ship. Where else was he supposed to lay his head?"

AND MORE OC AND GENERAL HEADCANONS:

Jai'sen has sand-colored fur and an even fairer wavy mane. Also there are small dark marks- almost reminiscent of cheetah spots- across the bridge of his nose and all over his shoulders, fading down the backs of his arms and down the ridge of his spine.

Braendi's favorite color is blue.

He has a small blue tattoo between his shoulder blades. It's a nearly triangular symbol, with thick lines curling inwards towards the center from each corner. When asked about it, he changes the answer every time.

Since Braendi was raised by a tattoo artist he knows how to do body modifications and is rather handy with a tattoo gun.

Killer Folk's eyes do all of the cat things- even the weird reflective thing

Baby Killer Folk have the kitten/puppy scruff, too.

Later on in their adventures Jai'sen and Braendi get a ship and acquire a small crew- a snake person engineer, a modular person doctor (who is actually a few entities married to one other), and a saurosapien gunner/weapons expert.

Basically they just become a family and have space adventures and sitcom shenanigans ensue because I said so and I'm too far in ohgoodgravyIcan'tstophelp-
