I finally had some time to share this awesome and romantic ko-fi sketch/commission I got from @savbakk of my lovely GreedFall ship! Feast your eyes on my Adelaide De Sardet kissing her steadfast lover (and eventual husband, just you wait), Captain Vasco of the Nauts. I was getting feels for him every since I start playing the game and helping him on his personal quests. And this artwork of them is bringing back all those feels and memories I have for his romance route. Would 100/100 romance him again.

10 Happy Things

Another tag from a million years ago. (I’m trying to clean out my inbox, don’t judge me.) This one came from @ronqueesha - thank you, friend! I’ll tag @alyssalenko, @derelict-blade, @humblydefiant, @solstheimart, and @sweet-ree. Rules are simple: Share 10 things that make you happy.

The Last Unicorn: Easily my favorite book, one of my favorite movies, I love this piece so much. I’ve read it at least ten times I’m sure and every time I find something I missed every time before. It’s just beautifully written and if you want a copy I will mail you one. 

Wrapping presents: Okay, I know this sounds ridiculous but I find making presents look pretty so satisfying. Making the creases clean and the edges neat, matching the ribbon and the paper, getting the bow and the tag just right. I love it.

Commissioning art: I have been very fortunate to have the opportunity to work with some amazing artists here, who have brought my characters to life in ways I never thought I’d get to see outside my head. To name a few (though this list is in NO way comprehensive): @savbakk, @xla-hainex, @charomiami, @mooreaux, @commander-sarahs-art, and @needlesslycryptic.

Concerts, musicals, etc.: There is something so awesome about live performances. A few years ago I did something teenage-me dreamed of but never thought I’d actually get to do when I saw Adam Pascal live in Something Rotten! and then met him at the stage door after.

Pandemic (and other cooperative board games): I am so conflict-avoidant that I don’t even like to play board games, which was a point of contention with my hubby because they are a big thing in his family. So cooperative games have been huge. (A game changer, one might say!) He’s also turned me on to cooperative Scrabble. I still prefer pandemic but it makes him happy.

Writing/collabing with friends: I have the most amazing friends that I’ve met through fandom and I’ve gotten to work on some amazing projects with them. Thank you so much @bioticfox for all the mShenga goodness, @rock-paperback-scissors for Layla and Veerla’s friendship, @ronqueesha for OC Truth or Dare, @cdrkateshepard for Jack, for Kate, and for Theo.

Fan-crafting (sewing): I love writing fanfic but sometimes I want something more tangible and in those moments I sew things. I’ve had a great time participating in the Holiday Harbinger gift exchange because it’s the only exchange I’ve found that accepts physical gifts and I’ve gotten to make so many things through it.

Driving and road-tripping: All my coworkers think I’m crazy but I truly enjoy spending hours alone in my car. Put some music on the radio, get out on the road, and go. One of my favorite things! (Which is good because I do so much of it for work...)

Japanese food: Yes, sushi. Yes, ramen. Yes, tempura and teriyaki. But also chawanmushi and okonomiyaki and ozoni and spinach ohitashi and onigiri and rice with furikake. When I get sick or I’m not feeling well, I don’t want chicken noodle soup, I want miso soup and/or ochazuke.

Foil, Arms, and Hog: I was introduced to this Irish comedy trio a while back and I absolutely love them. If you’re looking for a laugh some of my favorites are “Countries Guess Who They Are,” “When Irish People Can’t Speak Irish,” “Lost Footage Proves Irish Farmer Wrote Famous Pop Hits,” and everything with Anne and Oisín Flannigan.

1: Why did you choose your url?

Because I love Nightwing and I figured he deserved someone to sweep him off his feet for once. And considering what DC had done to him...he needs a hero, let’s be honest.

2: Any side blogs? if you have them, name them and why you have them.  

I don’t have the organization capabilities to do that, to be honest. I’m organized but in my own, chaotic way. Ideally, I would have set blogs for specific fandoms I have OCs for, to try and spread it out a bit (putting SOA and PB together, making a specific one just for Dragon Age, etc), but that would take time and energy that I don’t honestly have. 

3: How long have you been on tumblr?  

Uhhhhh...I’ve been on and off over the years, but I guess I’ve been active since the summer of 2019.

4: Do you have a queue tag?  

Yes! It’s “i queue you pikachu”, because I wanted to do something clever and I thought it was cute. Plus, I love Pokemon. It’s easier for me to have a queue because I’m just not as active as I used to be. My lack of being able to message back shows that. But I do my best to somehow navigate the dumpster fire of my blog and dash. 

5: Why did you start your blog in the first place?

I was bored, needed something to focus on, and such. I hate Facebook, don’t really use Snapchat or Instagram, and I steer clear of Twitter, so I said “ehhh, why not?”

6: Why did you choose your icon/pfp?

Honestly, it’s one of my most cherished commissions I’ve gotten, and it’s Wren and John...and Wren is like, one of my favorite OCs I have. And just seeing her in her Nemesis glory with John is just...peak her and it makes me so damn happy. @witchesconstellation did such an amazing job with her, I may or may not have cried a bit when I got it. So much symbolism and such gorgeous colors. I don’t know if I ever really wanna change it, to be honest. That might be my icon for the unforeseeable future. 

7: Why did you choose your header?  

Also a cherished commission I received from @savbakk for Wren’s dark baptism! A favorite scene of Wren’s canon that was brought to life beautifully and I still can’t stop staring at it, so it stays as my header. I smile every time I go to my page.

8: What’s your post with the most notes?  

I think it’s my Judgement post with the Nemesis commission? I haven’t really checked, but I wanna say that it’s that one. 

9: How many mutuals do you have?  

I genuinely have no idea.

10: How many followers do you have?  

I haven’t really checked, probably more than I deserve lol. 

11: How many people do you follow?  

Uhhhhh....too many....

12: Have you ever made a shitpost?

Sure have! And it probably won’t be my last. 

13: How often do you use tumblr each day?

Mostly every day. Sometimes I’ll go a few days without it though.

14: Did you ever have a fight/argument with another blog once? who won?

With a blog? Eh, no, not really. But I’ve been caught in discourse and have ran into my fair share of fandom bullies, that I just learned to block and focus on me and my own content. Because it makes me happy and that’s all that should really matter, right?

15: How do you feel about “you need to reblog this” posts?

That’s like someone driving behind me and riding my ass to make me go faster. It’s not going to happen, in fact, I will absolutely drive slower because of it. It’s unfortunate, most of the time, I would normally reblog them until that little comment pops up and I’m just....sigh.

16: Do you like tag games?  

Sure! They can be fun and I love being tagged!

17: Do you like ask games?  

Absolutely, I do. I welcome asks regardless. 

18: Which of your mutuals do you think is tumblr famous?

I feel really bad for saying it, but I don’t really pay that much attention? Like, I genuinely support y’all, and you guys have killer content. You’re legendary to me, but I don’t really know the popularity level they have. I know I have a few close friends that have very well-known ocs though. I don’t know if that counts.

No, not really.

So I got the bestest thing ever from the wonderful and amazingly talented @savbakk <3 It’s Hope and Connor sharing the sweetest moment <3  This piece of art has to be one of my favourite, thank you so, so much for drawing my latest obsession <3 Just look how perfect they are, look at their expressions, the colours and all the wonderful little details!! The plants and Sumo’s bowl are such wonderful additions and totally Hope. I mean you can almost read the book!!! This is set at the beginning of their romance where love first blossoms and I could have asked for anything better I love it so much I am speecless, @savbakk is sooo good! Tell me more about Aerials

So, Aerials is an entirely original Young Adult fantasy story I’ve been working on for... nearly two years now. I just finished it up and am at the point where I’m going to self-publish on Amazon. I’ve worked with an amazing editor and after careful consideration, decided self-publication was the route I wanted to go. Aerials is the first in a series I’m working on, I’m actually about 1/4 finished with the sequel. I was also wildly fortunate enough to commission @savbakk to do the cover art which I just got and holy smack, my jaw dropped. 

What is Aerials about? Strap in for a small plug:

A monster boyfriend story set in a fictional kingdom and continent where magic and mythical beasts aren't out of the ordinary, but rather, facts of life. Humans may govern continental affairs but they're not alone: nagas in the east, merfolk in the southern kingdom and in the central kingdom of Nellan, across the river from the encroaching village of Kolkan, live the mysterious yinka. Looking for a POC female protagonist? Got that. How about all the humans being POC? Boom. Want LGBTQ+ representation where sexual orientation isn't the sole thing about a character? Heck yes. How about a conflict that goes beyond plain good vs evil? Way ahead of ya.  Want the monster to get the girl? Read and find out >=)

Shepard as a Companion Meme (Gina)

I saw this post by @sunwisecircles​ a LONG time ago and thought I’d break it out since it’s @omegastation​’s Original Trilogy Week. I also happen to have three Not-a-Shepards who fill in the Pre-Service and Psych Profiles that whichever Shepard actually IS Shepard in the that universe who I ALSO happened to get amazing commissions of recently by @savbakk​ so... basically the stars aligned. THE BASICS:

Shepard’s full name: Gina Torianne Ewing (Shepard)

Class: Soldier

Pre-service history: Earthborn

Psychological profile: Akuze (part of the team that investigated and retrieved Shepard, if Shepard is the Sole Survivor)

MASS EFFECT 1:

When/how are they recruited: Another survivor from the geth attack on Eden Prime, brought onto the Normandy like Ashley. (They are different units but know each other from being stationed planet-side together.)

Where are they on the Normandy: Down at the weapons bench with Ashley

Are they romanceable: Yes (femShep only)

Personal quest: Modification of the existing disappearing Alliance scientists mission with Corporal Toombs. Gina would have been following the people who lost were on Akuze and would have noticed the pattern of missing scientists.

Who are their friends: Immediately connects with Ashley because of their familiarity with each other. She would also quickly befriend Garrus and Tali. 

MASS EFFECT 2:

What does their dossier say: An Alliance N7 who worked with Commander Shepard during their investigation into Saren two years ago. She recently requested some extended leave and is believed to be spending that time on the Citadel.

When/how are they recruited: Gina’s dossier is available with the first set. After a bit searching through Zakera Ward, Shepard finds her in a spot of trouble with some thugs. She is reluctant to talk about the situation but says that it’s nothing compared to Shepard being back with a job offer. 

Where are they on the Normandy: In the armory with Jacob

Are they romanceable: Yes, but only if romanced in the previous game

How do they react to the PC returning: Happy to see them, though suspicious of Cerberus. She would have a stance similar as Chakwas or Tali. (“I’m working for you and Cerberus can hang.”)

Personal quest: Shepard would receive a message “requesting” a large sum of credits to be wired to some account lest certain information about their latest recruit, Lieutenant Gina Ewing, come to light. Shepard would then go to Gina and, after a bit of teeth-pulling, would learn that she was part of a gang (maybe the Reds, maybe not) and participated in some very illegal activities when she was growing up. The gang has recently been trying to blackmail her and she initially took the leave to try and sort it out. Shepard volunteers to take care of it. They attempt diplomacy, which would almost certainly fail, and then fight their way out of the gang’s stronghold.

Do they fight with any other companions: Not really. Gina is exceptionally loyal (even before her loyalty mission) so as long as the companions are there for Shepard, any other disagreements are trivial.

What files does the Shadow Broker have on them: Her arrest record from when she was with the Reds/other gang (and also a list of crimes she was suspected in), snippets of her reports from Akuze, her gaming history from her omni-tool (mostly go but some chess) and her stats, her favorite guns and her ratings with them 

Can they die in the suicide mission, and how: Gina can be killed is she is selected as the vent specialist. She is successful as the either of the team leaders but only if she’s loyal.

MASS EFFECT 3:

When/how are they recruited: Shepard finds her on the Citadel after Mars. She got out of Sol and figured the Citadel would be Shepard’s next stop. She knows they will be where the fighting is the thickest and she wants in on it.

Where are they on the Normandy: The shuttle bay, either cleaning guns or working out with Vega

Are they romanceable: Yes though again, only if previously romanced

Citadel meetup (during the game, where do you meet them on the Citadel and what do you talk about): She would be at Purgatory and would talk to Shepard about any and everything except the war. She doesn’t want to waste what little off-duty time she has on shop talk. 

How does the PC relax with them in the Citadel DLC (ie, buying gifts with EDI, watching the game with James and Vega, etc.): Gina would teach Shepard some skill. Cooking is one of her favorite things or maybe some kind of strategy game.

What do they say to the PC before the final battle: “Look, I uh... I’m not one for motivational speeches. That’s your thing. But you’ve done the impossible here already and I know you’ll finish this thing out. It’s been an honor serving with you, Commander.”
