convexian anon i am seconding the library thing, i used to work in one and they 100% won't care. if anything they're probably just happy to see someone writing (and usually besides checking for a name they're not going to heavily snoop, promise!)

also hey gang im no longer dead actually very much alive, have some actor au nonsense:

Grian's shoulders sagged, and he let out a sigh. "Okay, I don't really want to do this in the bathroom so…. how squeamish are you, over all?"

As Grian walked back to the bed and took a seat, Scar hummed, thinking the question over. "I think I've got a pretty strong stomach."

"What about needles?" Grian shot back, pulling a syringe and wrapped needle tip out of the pouch.

Scar's face blanched, and Grian resisted the urge to laugh. It wasn't nice to make fun of other's fears. (Though it was sometimes funny.) "I can do it in the bathroom if it makes you feel better."

"Do what?" Scar squeaked, quickly faking a cough to fix his voice. "Do what?" he repeated, only a little shaky this time.

ive been obsessed with the scarian actor au for ages. like i think its probably one of the best scarian fics on ao3. im a little curious if you plan on updating it any time soon? no pressure ofc i just love your writing

i'm going to be honest, the amount of random messages i've gotten about that fic over the past like, couple of weeks, has been a little overwhelming? and i mean that in the best way possible.

the trend i notice for fic writers is that once a fic has reached it's peak, attention dies off, and any buzz about it goes quiet. for so many readers to come and ask about it, out of love for what i've written, it means the world to me. it's reassurance that my stories don't stop existing to the outer fandom after someone has closed the tab.

why do i (even try) is my most popular fic to date. i want to do it justice, and i do have a story that i want to finish telling for it. i love my actor au dearly, but unfortunately it's not at the forefront of my mind atm.

while i do fully intend on coming back to it soon, along with my dbh au, i have been writing stuff in the meantime! i've posted several other fics on ao3 in the meanwhile that i would recommend checking out, and i'm very proud to mention that i'm also a participant in this years hermitshipping big bang as a writer!

i've had several projects in the works, some published and some not, so while the support for my actor au has definitely given me good reason to dig back into that world, all i ask is you give my other works a glance, too. (and if you have, i am incredibly grateful!)

- tango and jimmy do in fact adopt a kid after double life, and their name is siria! ((they were made by my absolute best friend in the world- unfortunately though, they don’t have tumblr)) thank you to @fryingpan1234567 for adding that in ur thing cuz i already had the idea and you just convinced me :)

- grian and scar do as well, and his name is yeuri! he and siria get along really well, siria being older than him by a year. siria’s nine, yeuri is eight!

- who’s dating in this AU? well, Bdubs and Etho are married, so are Ren and Doc, Scar and Grian, Tango and Jimmy, (Fwhip and Scott are Jimmy’s exes- they get along of course!) Mumbo is boyfriends with Scar and Grian, Grian and Scar are planning to propose to him in the Summer :]  polyamorous relationship baby!!

- The reason scar jumped off the building to save the “jellies” was because Jellie- yes, jellie herself- got onto the set somehow. so he needed to grab his cat in order to get her out of the set

- scar walks with a cane on set, and off set, he has his wheelchair

- the scene in double life where grian kills ren and big b (and etho if im remembering right), that was completely an accident. during that scene, something had happened with the lights, so they ended up falling- injuring ren and etho in the process. (big b was fine, but he was absolutely TERRIFIED) as well as the rest of the people on set- ren and etho were fine of course, they only got some bruises- grian was incredibly apologetic afterwards of course, and doc and bdubs, who were there at the scene, absolutely freaked the hell out when they saw it happen. 

- doc then proceeded to coddle ren for a while and was very reluctant to let him on set, while bdubs did the same for etho. (it took a while to convince them).

- usually after filming is done, X would take everyone out to get ice cream!

Scar is a famous actor accused of killing his co-star on the upcoming production of 'HotGuy'. Things develop from there to Scar becoming Grian's sidekick (against the detective's wishes) as more killings follow that points all back to the murder of Scar's co-star, it seems that the truth stems deeper within the film industry. Scar wishes to find the truth to clean his name (and spend time with his crush)

Ok big post for the unnamed 80s actor AU (please name ideas are appreciated)

It’s 1978 when grian makes his first book series(which is the life series) which has pretty good reviews but people more care about him for his looks, 1980 he becomes a model, 1982 he stars in his first movie and blows up almost immediately, then so on and so forth he stars in more movies and people really love him.

Grians kinda cocky and really enjoys acting all together when later he stars making some music to try a new genre and people really like his music which makes him very very popular.

Anyways that’s mostly just trying to make plot kinda clear by fleshing out his rise to fame.

But mostly the plot just follows grian being a star which isn’t really a plot but idc I just like to imagine Grian with a mullet

Although I am a big hermitshipper I don’t think I will be making any like cannon to AU ships, like I’ll make it so like there’s kinda tension between 2 characters but like no actual couples. I wanna keep this open for everybody including the non hermit shippers<33(This will most just be Grian x Mumbo or Scarian (convex will be the most ‘couple’ pairing but won’t outright say they are together) but nothing too serious like the public will not ever draw conclusions)

Also I will be following a lot of the general public’s idea in the 80s about society, as it is the 80s and the 80s is one of my hyperfixations, but no one will be outright gay, because point it’s the 80s.

I yap too much so here’s reference (also yes I’m aware I’ve changed my style I just hate everything I draw then I drew mullet Grian with different eyes and decided I like how I drew him so I might start drawing like that)

my fall semester of university has officially begun and I am brimming with creative energy rn. lets see, current projects.... I've got an arranged marriage au that I'm very slowly working on, a silly goofy actor au, and for my newest thing !! (literally just decided to say screw it and start working on it today) I'm finally sitting down to write my scarian epic au :3 I'm super excited about it >:D

silly scarian au time!

life series BUT it's an actor au, where all the events of third/last/double life are part of some tv/movie series and it's all just sets and acts

grian and scar start out as disgruntled coworkers bc both of them have separate ideas for how they want to take the characters they play that directly counters what the other wants, leaving them to clash constantly and having bickering contests off-set. This leads to the two having to be sat down with a producer and writer to work out the issue, where both of them discover they actually want a very similar outcome of both characters, just achieved in drastically different ways. The writer and producer come up with a compromise that trips both ideas to combine into one idea, which ends up shifting the whole relationship between the characters in a more romantic lighting (which was. not what grian and scar had in mind)

so now you have two disgruntled coworkers trying to make amends while playing characters that have a building romantic and/or sexual tension between them. yeah. it's awkward at first, but as they get more comfortable with the set and acting with each other they also get more comfortable with each other off-set, and before they know it they're friends (and are close to becoming best friends by the time filming third life ends, with scar trying to make grian laugh on set during the cactus ring finale by making funny faces while the cameras aren't on him)

that means when last life is green lit they're ecstatic to work together again but ultimately are a little disappointed when they learn they're not going to be as much as a duo as last time. They still enjoy the entire process tho, and since neither of them have such a large focus like last time they have more time to goof around off-set, growing closer together (and eventually developing crushes on each other, to the surprise of nobody)

double life is announced and grian and scar are reasonably nervous to learn that their characters are soulmates. It's honestly hard to watch the two stumble around as acting and real feelings get blended together as the two act like a pair of soulmates while actively fancying each other, but it also unintentionally makes their scenes even better

mutual pining is strong as filming for double life progresses and draws to a close, and as they're unsure there'll be another continuation of the life series they both plan, individually, to make a move at the cast party thrown after filming finishes

jimmy is the unfortunate soul that finds the two making out in a private corner of the building, but in all honestly he wasn't that surprised and now has blackmail towards his cousin (I couldn't resist making him and grian related)

absolutely none of the cast is surprised to learn about the two of them getting together but don't tell the fans of the life series, they'll go berserk!

hello bluie + co! i've just done that thing where i reread my own fic and get sad when it's not done LOL

that being said here's some fun hc's for my actor au:

-he was a gymnast until around 16 when he started to transition

-he can still do some basic moves (and the splits, this is important)

-prior to this film, scar used to do all of his stunts and was often hurt on set because of this

-scar walks with a slight limp now (and should really be using a cane)

-it's also why he has so many different scars! (biggest one was from a broken prop that scraped the side of his torso badly)

also grian may-or-may-not be getting hurt coming up. maybe. who knows. totally not me

"…Fine, fine, friends. Barely!" Grian barked, and the two paused before bursting out in laughter; Grian's cut painfully short from yet again too tight of a squeeze, and he winced, doubling over with gritted teeth.

bluie i am caught at a crossroads send help

because i simply cannot help but insert mumbo jumbo into literally anything hermity that i write, i'm toying with the idea of inserting mumbo as a supporting character into the actor au (not hard set on including him yet, just a fun idea) BUT i have a problem! /lh

on the one hand, the easy thing to do would be to make him either scar's personal assistant who he's worked with for a while now, or grian's new assistant in charge of actually getting his name out there. for this option i'd probably go with the grian route, because that lends itself to more things i could write about (photo shoots, late night show appearances, etc. etc.)

however... cc!mumbo has a literal hobby of cinematography. he buys fancy cameras and know how to use and explain the specs of them. he makes actual fucking commercials for brands. i could literally write him as one of the camera guys watching the shenanigans on set and it would actually make sense. but that's a much more narrow window of things to write about, and would make the world smaller and require me to pull in a different hermit to play the personal assistant (which i could do but i don't really want to tbh i want to keep the cast small)

so. ack. send help.

Okay I really really love the idea of Mumbo being Grian's new personal assistant. Just imagine the shenanigans Mumbo witnesses between Gri an Scar, and how Mumbo can play a third party in helping Gri with his feelings (ykno cuz they become good friends as well as work partners)

I'd love to see how you'd go about him being the assistant too. The idea of the photo shoots Grian's first late night show interview?? Oh man he'd be so so nervous but a charming side comes out and he gets a bunch of more support from the ppl

Not that Isel knew who Vexite really was, the hero thought. Sometimes, you had to lie to the ones you loved most, if only to keep them alive.
