Reading Yumi and the Nightmare Painter, getting more and more of Hoid's pov, then in the end, with Design and Hoid talking about how to leave. It made me realize that the Cosmere isn't a fantasy series. It's a damn sci-fi!! Design tells Hoid to steal a space ship where they can get to some space station and get to another planet. Hoid is living in a sci-fi novel while everyone else is living in epic fantasy. The Cosmere universe, I swear!!!

Felt like drawing a mech about 2 months ago. Here's the result.

Some texturizing progress. Really happy so far. I learned a lot again. I have two materials for it: props and clothing. Could have put into more materials for more space on the UVs and therefore more crisp details, but I rather consider performance for industry purposes. It’s a better practice this way.

I really wanted to make this look like a suit that has been on a longer mission. Dirt in crevices, damaged and stained metal, rain spots, used fabric etc

Of course in the end it could be more optimized, but I give myself time limits to see where I stand with my current knowledge.

This has got to be one of my most diverse and most difficult projects. This is a reprinted Vinyl 1/10 scale Guyver-III and this kit presented a lot of challenges that I wasn’t 100% prepared for, even after doing a lot of research.

My main issue was cutting the Vinyl and having to heat up parts with a heat gun as I went along, having to take the time to consider how the material wouldn’t be workable for too long once heated. The next part was assembly as unlike Resin or plastic, Vinyl models do not have traditional connection points and need to have pegs made from metal pins and parts be filled with epoxy putty.

I’m definitely looking forward to doing more, I have quite a few vinyl models that will be very interesting to put together.
