J. Davis/S. Duncan had some fair chances in the second set, but D. Cukierman/P. Matuszewski steadily shifted the moment in their favor thanks to their balanced strikes. As both pairs tried to go after each other's net games, sometimes the baseline was needed for them to set up the play, where the second seeds often took advantage from before the final shots. As a result, even though the British pair converted 100% of their break points, the second seeds created 7 break points along the way.

Somehow, both pairs also had distinct service game strengths in this match. Even though the British pair scored 2 aces, D. Cukierman/P. Matuszewski had an exceptional first serve winning percentage with 81%, 20% more than the former, which helped them navigating some troubles. However, even if D. Cukierman/P. Matuszewski had some moments, they only earned it towards the end as J. Davis/S. Duncan started to steadily step up. Starting by pressing the latter's net game, their backhand return aces not only created their break point but also converted it early to 1-0. However, another functional volley from the British pair created their break point before they broke back to 2-1, levelling the play with a service game hold to 2-2 afterward.

Somehow, while another working volley secured J. Davis/S. Duncan's break of serve to 3-2 before they held to 4-2, their moment did not last long as D. Cukierman/P. Matuszewski kept in touch with a service game hold to 4-3 before breaking back to 4-4 thanks to their forehand return ace that created their break point. Ultimately, after four consecutive holds, the tie-breaker became inevitable, where the second seeds started with a forehand winner, and despite having an error compensated to mini-break-back 3-1 and having a match point saved thanks to the British pait's working volley, D. Cukierman/P. Matuszewski took the second set 7-6(3) to secure their spot in the quarterfinals.
