Rescued in 2000 by MTF Xi-5, “Newton's Bullies,” during the preliminary exploration into SCP-35320’s domain, anomalous location SCP 35320-1, 𝑆𝑀𝑂𝑂𝑇𝐻 𝑂𝑃𝐸𝑅𝐴𝑇𝑂𝑅’s introduction to the Foundation was nothing short of a miracle. Missing person reports from the time revealed that 𝑆𝑀𝑂𝑂𝑇𝐻 𝑂𝑃𝐸𝑅𝐴𝑇𝑂𝑅 had been reported as MIA after he disappeared during a training exercise in the Tucson Mountains by Unit 162 WG of the Arizona Air National Guard on November 17, 1998. It’s in the popular belief that 𝑆𝑀𝑂𝑂𝑇𝐻 𝑂𝑃𝐸𝑅𝐴𝑇𝑂𝑅 was selected at random by SCP-35320 due to his age or simply because the opportunity presented itself as no one else in his unit was captured by 35320 for its ‘game.’ [See Mission File #871-341-X for more information. Must be Clearance Level 5 or higher to access the file.] Once Xi-5 breached the boundary of anomalous location SCP 35320-1, the parameters to SCP-35320’s ‘game’ were met, and it began to systematically hunt down members of Xi-5, leading to multiple casualties. X-9, Op. Zuri Williams, and X-4, Op. Thomas Smith (KIA) made initial contact with 𝑆𝑀𝑂𝑂𝑇𝐻 𝑂𝑃𝐸𝑅𝐴𝑇𝑂𝑅 after they became separated from the rest of the unit. The Foundation promptly took him into custody for debriefing once Xi-5 exited SCP-35320’s domain. However, due to the Foundation’s limited research on SCP-35320, it soon became apparent that the likelihood of Xi-5 escaping was incredibly low as SCP-35320 dispatched more unit members. In an act of desperation, MTFC Ingrid Olsen made the call that 𝑆𝑀𝑂𝑂𝑇𝐻 𝑂𝑃𝐸𝑅𝐴𝑇𝑂𝑅 would be of better use as a soldier under Olsen’s command rather than a prisoner. This decision was what ultimately allowed for the neutralization of SCP-35320 as 𝑆𝑀𝑂𝑂𝑇𝐻 𝑂𝑃𝐸𝑅𝐴𝑇𝑂𝑅’s knowledge of the terrain and SCP-35320’s ‘rules’ were immeasurably valuable for the success of the mission. Because of his usefulness during the mission, the question of what to do with 𝑆𝑀𝑂𝑂𝑇𝐻 𝑂𝑃𝐸𝑅𝐴𝑇𝑂𝑅 after debriefing led to both Head Researcher, Dr. Diego Ochoa, and the MTF Xi-5 Commander contacting separate Ethics Committee liaisons due to the uniqueness of this case. To avoid potentially losing a valuable asset to the Foundation, the Ethics Committee decreed to spare 𝑆𝑀𝑂𝑂𝑇𝐻 𝑂𝑃𝐸𝑅𝐴𝑇𝑂𝑅, offering the man options of receiving Class B amnestics and returning to his family, or joining the Foundation. It is unclear why 𝑆𝑀𝑂𝑂𝑇𝐻 𝑂𝑃𝐸𝑅𝐴𝑇𝑂𝑅 made the choice he did, but the Foundation gained an invaluable asset that day. In his 24 years of service with the Foundation since this incident, 𝑆𝑀𝑂𝑂𝑇𝐻 𝑂𝑃𝐸𝑅𝐴𝑇𝑂𝑅 has come to sport an impressive career in various MTFs, such as Delta-4 “Minutemen,” Lambda-12 “Pest Control,” and Xi-13 “Sequere Nos” before finally landing in Omega-1 “Law's Left Hand” after being hand selected by the Ethics Committee for his part in in the Xerox Revision. While he is one of the most reliable mainstays in Omega-1, it is unclear how much longer the Ethics Committee is willing to risk 𝑆𝑀𝑂𝑂𝑇𝐻 𝑂𝑃𝐸𝑅𝐴𝑇𝑂𝑅 in the field.

I decided to go back and look at the first SCPs to see if it really was just a bunch of Creepy Monster Guys, because I distinctly remembered a lot of creepy flesh rooms and creepy children rather than Slendermen.

Because the first one was a Slenderman, the Weeping Angel SCP-173 - the first, “dont’ break eye contact” guy.

But I couldn't exactly remember the order of release, and couldn't find a good chart of the ones after 173, so went to the SCP calendar (https://scp-wiki.wikidot.com/scp-calendar/date/2008.7/p/2), and looked at the next 24 to be archived after July 2008.

SCP-002 - the fleshy room that converts people into furniture. (FLESH ROOM)

SCP-004 - a door leading to a anomalous spacial environment.

SCP-006 - a spring with “fountain of youth” properties

SCP-015 is a mass of pipes, vents, boilers and other various plumbing apparatus completely filling a warehouse. The pipes grow and move when not observed, and are noted to be made of materials such as glass, concrete, and even flesh and bone (FLESH ROOM)

SCP-008- classified.

SCP-882 appears to be a random assembly of gears, cables, pulleys, screws, and belts, all made of an amalgam of various metals. Instills the urge to be ground in the gears in people around it. (Wants to be a FLESH ROOM)

SCP-007 - a guy with a missing stomach and a miniature earth in place. The guy isn't a Slenderman though.

SCP-013-ARC - a sphere that grants visions to religious people.

SCP-021 - a body-jumping parasitic dragon tattoo that feeds on pigmentation and ink.

SCP-030 - Ariel the clay-man (our second SLENDERMAN, but he's fairly benevolent)

SCP-037 - a 2cm wide star

SCP-042- a bizarre horse with bone spurs.

SCP-043 - a voice that speaks from the final track of the Beatles’ "The White Album"

SCP-132 – an empathic woman that secretes a black goo when overwhelmed with emotions

SCP-054 - water elemental undine thing (Two wet women in a row, and our third SLENDERMAN but she really doesn't do anything)

SCP-055 is a "self-keeping secret" or "anti-meme". (These things just start showing up everywhere)

SCP-053 - the 3-year-old girl who enrages people in her presence.

SCP-409 - the big self-replicating crystal

SCP-718 - the big self-replicating eye

SCP-162 - the tantalizing bundle of sharp things

SCP-455 - a large cargo ship with fleshy rooms (FLESH ROOMS on THE HIGH SEAS)

SCP-406 - the big self-replicating suspended flesh (Combining the two earliest tropes of the foundation, the FLESH ROOM AND REPLICATOR. It just needs a WET WOMAN and creepy child).

SCP-040 - another creepy child, this time, a mutater.

SCP-105 - a woman who can manipulate objects in photos.

So it did seem to start out with more of a dry tone of here's a weird object or a flesh room.

According to the object, every time it dies it "wakes up" on it's first day of foundation employment with full memory of its past lives.” Then the entry turns into a rape report.

SCP-8681 - the rotting skull of a beluga whale (Delphinapterus leucas) - one of those filler ones with no detail.

SCP-8499 - a patch of land in the Arabian Desert that gives individuals one of eight possible hallucinations of past lives of a mechanical humanoid of vast proportions with a feminine build, SCP-8499-A, featuring a man, his wife, and some followers.

Scp-6826 - Apologetic carrier, a bipedal creature that gives people Lyme disease and is partially rewarded during containment by churros

SCP-8042 is a black metallic cube that eats dogs

SCP-8416 - the frequency of the farside of the Moon that make people in certain random regions hallucinate a functional reality.

SCP-8478 - a Three-Portlands entity, is an anomalous theatrical experience known as 'Sense'. Ah, Three Portlands...

SCP-7383 is Branch Office 2 of the Surrealistics Division Headquarters Site. It’s another gag.

SCP-8350 designates an endangered species of intelligent polymorphs capable of human speech, named the Apaseans, with less than 200 remaining members, individually designated as SCP-8350 instances. Apaseans are distinguished from similar species of shapeshifters by their unique memetic ability to deceive and persuade others on a large scale and with significant efficacy

SCP-8220 is a three-layered vanilla cake with strawberry and blueberry toppings. A plastic ornament reading 'happy birthday' is partially buried inside SCP-8220 and can only be removed by an individual on their birthday.

SCP-8145 is contained within its own description, another one of those evil memes.

SCP-8155 - another one of those evil memes.

SCP-8069 an oinking clock that controls pigs

SCP-ES-115 - a train-station in Zaragoza, Spain but the trains are made of body parts. (This one needs a bit more work to make the creepy hit, but it actually feels like an early entry).

SCP-341-KO - a flying saucer made by a Korean elementary schooler and the cell phones she used to call home with (phone still works on Mars).

SCP-953-KO is a dangerous anomaly that takes over and mimics people.

SCP-8709- an alien intelligence that emits black body radiation. One of those words words words entries.

I don't know, I'm feeling the tone shift.

It's a sad fact that every long running universe based upon themes and tones of isolation, limiality, and cosmic horror gets worn down by overexplanation, overpopulation of the universe with entities, overuse, and eventually irony and financial exploitation. Derlething happened to Lovecraft, it happened to SCPs, it happened in record times to the backrooms.

Like any other Eldritch entity, subtle aspects of his appearance can shift sporadically and chaotically (in his case, when he experiences strong emotions or lack thereof).

CONSTRUCT

PERSONALITY. Socially aloof, deadpanning, quiet, reserved and soft-spoken. Due to partially being out of this world, he exhibits various eccentricities. He can come off as naive and childish due to his curious nature and might express inappropriate emotions (e.g.: trust instead of caution, anger and confusion instead of delight etc.) which often leads to misunderstandings and gets him in hot water with others. Heavily possessive of the few people he gets along with and his clinginess often makes him act spoiled if he can’t have their full attention.

Aware of his status as a higher being, he might sometimes treat people like dolls and can come off as bossy and overbearing when others contradict him without proof or proper basis for their argument. Usually patient and meticulous, he can often grow bored and lose focus of a subject if his interlocutor isn’t invested in him. Harbors a heavy dislike for disrespectful people and unprompted callousness. When it comes to conflict, he is (most of the time) diplomatic, usually the bigger man that tries to mediate the issue - he values peace and serenity above getting the last word in and would much rather resolve a problem before it blows out of proportion.

OCCUPATION. Default verse - wicked preacher. Like every other Demi-God/God, Eldritch or otherwise, his goal is to extend his influence among humans, whether it be through befriending them and having them willingly/unwillingly make a contract with him, swearing their allegiance to him or ripping their souls out of their bodies and stuffing them into sentient clay dolls. That last option is used only on rare occasions, however. More often than not, he ignores these cult-like activities in order to play video games and hang out with his puppy and rat inside his pocket dimension.

RESIDENCE. His domain takes the form of a decrepit monastery or a church (depending on the setting) and it is always located on the outskirts of towns, near forests or within them, near lakes or mountains. To encounter him during his Eldritch form, one ought to visit those locations during a full moon.

Verse information:

1. Arkham Horror verse/default verse

It focuses on his Eldritch abilities and does not put as much emphasis on his humane side.

He represents the physical link between the human realm and the plane of existence of the Outer Gods, bound to the Great All-Mother (Shub-Niggurath) during a(n in)convenient Lovecraftian incident of apocalyptic proportions.

As a human who had been stuck in an inadequate, sickly body, Shiro chose to abandon his humanity in favour of offering himself up as a blood sacrifice meant to speed up the awakening process of a higher being. Instead of being devoured, however, his body was chosen as a vessel / proxy of one of Shub-Niggurath’s (The Black Goat of the Woods) many incarnations - an avatar under the vague name of Moder.

By turning into a mediator for the questionable entity, a number of supernatural abilities were gained, although their usage is limited to areas susceptible to the occult means and the places of worship for Shub’s cult or his own cult (examples of limitations: during full moons, inside or in the proximity of wooded areas).

Due to his newfound Eldritch nature, some of his physical traits had been altered during the process (his irises became unnaturally vibrant and his pupils differ in both eyes; the rapid discoloration of his hair, rendering it platinum white) and some entirely new ones, such as the appearance of innumerable eyes on his body, jet-black hues that appear and disappear in tune with his emotional state. The gas-like substance that seeps out of them is of unknown origin and best left untouched.

Through mental symbiosis, his personality adopted new traits to an unrecognizable extent, although tidbits of his unstable and raw human emotions often surface during stressful situations, especially due to his incredibly short temper when it comes to bargaining with humans. 2. FGO Chaldea Master/Servant verse (Ruler)

He is the Shub-Niggurath pseudo-servant under the Ruler class. Information can be found here.

3. SCP verse

He is a person of interest who oscillates between a Non-Standard Object class and Euclid. Simultaneously a humanoid and a concept, his origins are difficult to pinpoint and fully contain through standard procedures, nor can he be fully neutralized. In layman’s terms, the more you try to hurt him, the angrier he gets, but he keeps his hostility to a minimum. Because he is an intelligent life-form, determining his true levels of threat towards humanity as a whole is a difficult task.

Not much is known about his characteristics so far, besides his ability to temporarily retreat into a pocket dimension. While he does not use it for harmful purposes, it is yet unknown whether or not it could be utilized in such a way.

Curiosity brought him to the facility and subsequently trapped him there. While he does not represent an active threat at face-value (as he focuses more on advocating for other SCPs rights and the safety of his guards), his instability in terms of form, motives and vague abilities earned him constant surveillance, testing and containment.
