i don't know if anyone feels the same or maybe i'm crazy but like...is everyone supposed to accept that when you reach your 20s your friendships turn into this "never make an attempt to meet up but from time to time contact you to 'check up on you' (aka only ask surface level stuff about work etc)"?

sometimes I'll have irl friends from the past say stuff like "i miss you" and at first you're happy bc of the possibility of reconnecting but then slowly as they talk you realize "ooohh...they don't miss me, they're nostalgic about the past and the place they were in when we were closer"

and like i understand that as you get older it becomes more difficult to fit friendships in your schedule and that everyone is busy but...it feels so extremely lonely. i wish people did more than just check up on you, i wish when they asked "how are you?" it wasn't just out of courtesy

#it's like only work and a romantic partner have to matter from now on #and friendships are expected to drift apart? or become second if not last thought #this doesn't rly happen to me much with internet friendships #vent post #i think what i want is #for a friend to talk to me like i'm a real person and not an accessory in their life or part of their past

still feels like an absurdly high-end piece of equipment for me to have even tho its about 10 years old and very obviously pre-owned. this thing just feels more expensive compared to my old midrange huion. like its Solid and definitely more sturdy.. i think the only thing i could give or take is that it needs mains power to work, but its not like my last one was much more portable (i still needed mains power or my laptop would drain out in like 20 minutes oops) so its not a dealbreaker i still like it :)

still figuring out how to use it and getting used to the very different Penfeel so i'm probably gonna keep switching between it and the old one (while it still works) to work on serious art i need to look good, but. i am glad to have it :)

#the cable seems pretty worn so i might have to replace that at some point but everything other than that is like #its got scratches and came out the box dusty and shit like i can tell that its *old*. but its in surprisingly good condition?#i was worried for a second bc it had barely any description on ebay i literally ONLY bid bc it was cheap as fuck #i wouldnt have dropped any more than £100 on it with that little info thats for sure. or if it had no returns policy (it did)#wild shit.#replacement pens are like £100 on their own though so i have to watch this thing like a hawk for the rest of my life now #my bargain expensive tablet be so fine until BOOM. working accessories still expensive as fuck
