"Gerson remembered it, as much as he remembered anything, but he died a few years ago. Tortoise monsters may be long-living, but they aren't immortal. Undyne went on a distraught rampage through the mountain's forests for a day or two after the funeral. I think she's come to terms with it now."

"As for what it was like," Gaster continued, "It was peaceful. Humans and monsters had co-existed for many, many centuries before the war, though skeletons didn't co-exist with either until about a century before. Which, in skeletal lifespan, is only about half our lifespan. Myself and my brothers were considered the first generation of skeletons to be born amongst humans and monsters. I'm just glad my sons were the only generation to be born underground."

"We had human friends when we were young- myself and Asgore, that is. One in particular was a perseverance soul called Percy. Creative, i know. I believe he was sentenced to death after trying to warn us about a human invasion in the last few days of the war, though. He was the understudy for the Perseverance mage that sealed us away, but he was a good man. I hope his bloodline continued after his death."

Generation 48 || Always Accepting

Name: Etainnan Ariad: Alternate: Etainnan the Tradewind

Gender: Female

General Appearance: On the surface, Etainnan looks Sidhe. Or at last enough so to ignorant masses that they know her mother is not a normal Hylian. Darker skin and inky mane, full-surface golden eyes that not only have the ability to see in the dark but reflect light, the pointed teeth and sharper angles seen in the Imperial House. But to a Sidhe, they see the difference in that she is shorter at six-foot-one and more slender than they are, a willowy thing that does not walk on her toes with the longer pointed ears of a mainlander that are not as prehensile and much less expressive. It's a constant amusement to her later in life that she seems to have shed the majority of the seafarer traits for ones more attuned to being trapped on land.

Personality: Quiet and inherently spooky with a streak of stubborn independence. Her brother would remark she never used to be that way, as the Imperial siblings were raised together for a time. But after going to live with her father and in following her mother's trainings beforehand to protect her, Etainnan lives very close to her name as an adaptable transient creature as though she lives in two planes at once. Strangely enough, Katya's bloodline doesn't manifest in the same way as it does in prior generations. She hides emotions very well as she grows, straight-faced and incredibly austere, to the point of cold nigh-cruel intensity not unlike her mother, a devious manipulator rather than an adept warlord. It likely doesn't lessen much in her father's care, a vigilantly diligent thing you don't realize is there until she's watching, like a predator.

Special Talents: She has a small gift for prophecy, as her father has. It is only a small amount of why she understands she was surrendered to him at the age of eight, though her mother was never the type to hide her true purpose either. To be better prepared is an Ariad creed, and despite not wanting to go, she is at least happy in thinking back that she was not simply given away; she knew when it happened and took it in stride. She does have a foundation in blood magick as well, mostly due to her brother's interference. It's not very strong and she cannot maintain the connection or drain very long -certainly not to the caliber of her brother or mother-, but it is there nonetheless if she should so need it. She does have roots in the hive, but not the training to control it. Just enough to tell when the Sidhe are nearby as they ripple the hive. Her mother's influence manifests more in her combat experience. Though she was still quite young overall, she showed similar promise to her mother in her youth, adhering to the sword as all good Ariads should -Ariads are born with a sword in their hand-. She has the calmer temperament to strategize on the fly and does have a much firmer discipline with the sword than others would expect her to in so short a time.

Who They Like Better: She would say 'neither', but she does miss the affection of her mother greatly. All in all, though, it's her brother she misses the most.

Who They Take After More: Etainnan happens to be a very melded mix of both parents. If you ask her, she continues her neutrality in saying 'neither'. But if you ask her family, Astor sees Fariah in her, Fariah sees Astor.

Personal Headcanon: Etainnan keeps patronage to one of the Tigress Goddesses of her mother's culture. Vanna of the Eternal Current, from where her name derives. Though Astor's lineage opened the path to prophecy, it is Vanna who shows the currents of aether to her. She becomes one of few mortals outside the priesthood and Oracles who the Goddess speaks to regularly enough, although the visions given her are still very vague and open to interpretation. More symbolic than literal.

For context, Maeve and Eva are the two older Blaire and Fred Donaldson (OC x Canon) kids.

I’ll do an official introduction of her later, but as for now Maeve’s epithet is Mischance. In a nutshell it’s given her chronic almost cartoonish bad luck for the remainder of her life. She’s gotten sick of it, so when her and sister discover a way to get rid of it permanently, they immediately jump on board.

Eva goes for alternative reasons too. She’s always wanted an epithet…

In the original, Mera is only taking Molly’s epithet and not putting hers into the amulet because “Fragile” has all her skillsets / everything she has. So here, Maeve could want to put her epithet in the amulet, while Eva could try to steal Amber or Vee’s epithet with it. So Maeve would be Mera but have an Indus personality, and Eva would be Indus with a Mera personality.

I’m mostly spitballing. You don’t need to put any of this in the AU.

Hinata's one of those characters that was doomed from the start when her most defining character trait was being in love with the guy the series is named after. Also, iirc Kishimoto did say he did that and Sakura and Sasuke because it was the easiest way to go in terms of ships. But tbh, I never understand this thing mangas and series have for ending a series means characters almost always have a relationship afterwards. Like that really isn't the norm for a lot of people.

Btw, when I say the norm I mean in real life. I guess its just a perception thing that a series is truly over when there's relationships or whatnot. Personally, I don't get it.

I'd always assumed the endgame pairs shook out this way for convenience for the second gen, anyway. If Sakura's Sasuke's only real option (RIP Karin), Hinata was Naruto's. Hinata also conveniently gives the protag new eye powers that aren't the Sharingan! Win/win.

I guess there's a few reasons why you might end a story that way? One would be some authors just like having endgame pairs, and had been hinting at them the whole time to build up to it. Another is that it's easy symbolism of "peacetime" - the fight is over, we have time to explore our feelings and build a life together, that sort of thing. (Definitely more of a narrative device though, yeah.)

It might also be a nod to loyal fans (who get real into that stuff), or setting up a secondgen (lol).

ms marvel is an absolutely stellar show. im a pakistani 2nd gen kid who sees absolutely no representation in the media, —sans the dramas mom is always watching— so this means a lot to me. glad they decided to adapt this into the mcu, since i happen to be into the mcu, and especially because i never wouldve known about it if they didnt. 

im pretty detached from my culture, im pretty whitewashed, i do admit that, i cant even speak my own language(s). but ms marvel did sorta help me feel a bit better about it- more the music aspect, but thats smth else. i mean- i was never ashamed of my culture, but still.

when my sister first said something about seeing a trailer for ms marvel, i was skeptical, i didnt think it’d be that good, even if it was mcu. i feel like it was mainly about her powers and representation. but they were absolutely great with both of that

all the characters are just so <333, i dont even know how to explain it, brunos probably my favorite. i felt so bad for him in that scene with mr kumquat (thats what i call kamran- ill explain) and kamala in episode six </3 poor dude.

my least favorite character was probably kamran, not because everyone is so bad at saying his name, but i just didnt vibe w him. maybe its cause he just showed up coming out of a pool at a random party our of nowhere? idk

now that i think of it my real least favorite characters were najima and the dodc characters, like cmon, theyre just children, wth?

nakia is a complete girlboss, (ew, that word) the only thing i didnt like about her was the fact that she made it seem like kamala was obligated to tell her about her powers and stuff

and kamala is just so adorable and relatable lmao. especially with the “its not usually the brown girls in jersey city” line, like i dont even live in jersey, but still.

the only part that was eh about the cultural/ethnic stuff was how they said kamran and kamalas names. like bro, cmon, just call him cameron at this point yk? i basically call him mr kumquat and cameron just for fun, since they dont really say it correctly anyways. them saying kamalas name wrong wasnt as bad though, dunno why, maybe becuase they werent that off.

episode five was just so great? like sure, it wasnt present time most the episode, but still. i obviously wasnt there during the partition, but i feel like the episode encapsulated it so well- like the tragedy of it all and stuff??? i dont know why or how, but it does.

the line with kamala speaking to kamran in the bubble(?) thing in episode 6 is just so damn great... i forgot the line. but it was something about there being no normal.

and the tiktok part near the end of the sixth episode may have been kinda cringy, but it was cute too.

but anyways, this show means a lot to me, kinda upset that we gotta wait a whole year to see kamala again. but at least i got my sister to buy me volume one of the comics today!

Name: Pamina: Full Title: Crown Princess Pamina Ariad-Dragmire of House Ariad, of the Clouded Isle of Imperial Sidhe: Alternate: Pamina the Seahawk

Gender: Female [as most Gerudo are]

General Appearance: Going by Bun's canon that Gerudo genetics are dominant, Pamina is as one would expect a young Gerudo to be. Dark-skinned and golden-eyed, sharp angles and prominent bridged nose, with the flaming red mane that gains her mother's quality; thin and numerous, it is thick and encompassing when let loose. She grows to be taller than her mother but shorter than her father at six-foot-nine, slender but compact. Some Sidhe traits are inherited, mostly the more subtle mutations like pointed prehensile ears and sharp teeth, the membrane over her eyeballs, and she stands predominantly on her toes, adding to her egregious height otherwise.

Personality: Feisty and ambitious like her father, stalwart and intimidating like her mother. She takes after both of them in that she is incredibly stubborn and independent, and has a fairly short temper which is likely a combination of Gan's inherited wrath and Fariah's war goddess bloodline. Of their two children, however, Pamina is the one who is rooted into the hivemind, and so she too has inherited her mother's sense of duty to the point of near self-destruction at times. Still, a perfect representation for the direct-lineage that follows in her mother's footsteps later.

Special Talents: A magical battery like her father is. It practically leaks from her, and she finds her father is a stern teacher and a draconian perfectionist when it comes to learning his brand of magic. Unlike Ganondorf, however, Pamina's main affinity is aether and so she has a penchant for illusion and misdirection above other elements. Of course, she learns the necessary foundations of blood magick from her mother as well as how the hive works and how to twist and control it, but not the vocal. Despite her vicious temper, Pamina does take to the ruthless climate of south tropical politicks very well, if anything because once again, the Ariad line has produced something that isn't afraid to turn a talking hall into a bloodbath when strategy and talking fails. As is typical in the Ariad bloodline, combat is an artform. Pamina follows this as well and is not only an adept soldier but turns into a terrifying conqueror as well, furthering the expansion of the Empire during her reign as the 48th Imperial.

Who They Like Better: She would say that she loves both of her parents equally, as they both helped to raise her into who she is at any given time. But it's her mother, hands down.

Who They Take After More: Her mother, no contest. Despite being a melting pot of both her parents' influence, it is her mother that influences who she is and how she thinks the most. There is a lot of her father in some aspects, but anyone who deals with her presence a lot will say they see the 47th Empress in her.

Personal Headcanon: Because her affinity is aether, Pamina can actually see when Kaylaraja is in residence of Turyl's body. She becomes one of the few people who can not only see him, but engage with him. Although the God doesn't necessarily talk back, he comes back more frequently to listen to her through the blossoms of his vine trapped in the crystal pillar, one of the few Gods in recent centuries that has actively acknowledged the existence of a mortal outside specific times.
