I'm so happy that garden centres don't have to close during the #secondlockdown as they are essential and should have stayed open during the first one. I rushed off at the weekend to get a raspberry cane and another Blueberry Bush just in case. Plants and planting are also so good for our mental health and growing my own veg in the last lockdown kept me going. Notes on Isolation - A Second Lockdown, School and Human Touch

What a week - the enormous high of Marc getting home last week was then followed by a huge crash. I had time to think again, because I wasn’t just rushing doing all of the stuff, and suddenly the chaos, and the uncertainty for all of us became horribly clear. This isn’t a huge political rant - I mean once I started I’m not sure I’d know when to stop.... it’s just about instinct and common sense and cuddling...

It seems clear to me, and apparently Wales and Northern Ireland and Scotland and all of the scientists that we should be just shutting down for a couple of weeks. And if we’re going to end up doing it anyway let’s just do it now whilst it’s going to be more effective. All of this tier business with different areas under different restrictions only causes more confusion and resentment...

And apparently whatever happens we’re going to keep sending our children to school. This goes against every parental instinct... the message from government and the science is clear, work from home where you can, keep you distance, wear masks, don’t socialise. But children, those yet to be fully formed, those still learning how to be and who to be and what to think - let’s send them out to school everyday to mix with 60 or 200 of their peer group. Wondering why your kids seem a bit bewildered, a bit anxious?!?? Because they’re not stupid and it doesn’t make any sense...

And hugging? Doesn’t everyone miss hugging? This must be bad for us, the lack of human touch... I’m lucky I have the children and Marc and we’re all pretty cuddly all of the time but more so now...

Apart from one small group of people, we all lost someone we loved this year, I haven’t touched anyone since March. I don’t know what to do now if a child falls down near me, if an old lady drops something in the supermarket, do people want me to help or stay away? The last week or so I’ve seen my in-laws, my favourite of Marc’s Uncles. a friend that I haven’t seen for years, old friends, new friends, some of my closest ever friends - all none hugging.  Mostly actually standing up and outside and sort of skirting around each other awkwardly. Last night we watched Strictly (Strictly is very big, important and SERIOUS in our house) and I cried because they were all touching. I used to think that as a society we would all be a bit more distant when we get through this but in truth I think that when hugging is OK again I might never let go...

Do you like baking bread? Have you mastered the art of baking during the lockdown this year? I remember visiting the supermarkets towards the end just a day before the lockdown begun (after all most everything was gone) and there wasn’t any rice, bread or flour left... everything was gone... I thought I’d bake some bread but there wasn’t any white flour or bread flour left, just few packets of spelt flour which I worked with only to make a gluten free cake once. However, if we do have another lockdown. I wouldn’t buy anything for the first few weeks, cos I know people would be panic buying again. And, this time round I still have a few kgs of flour in my pantry. So, we should be good to go.. What are your thoughts on another lockdown? Are you prepared for it? पिछले लॉकडाउन में जनता की ये गलतियां बनी थी प्रशासन की मुसीबत, इस बार सीखने की जरूरत है

चैतन्य भारत न्यूज कोरोना वायरस के बढ़ते मामलों को देखते हुए काफी दिनों से यह कयास लगाए जा रहे थे कि लॉकडाउन को बढ़ाया जाएगा। मंगलवार सुबह 10 बजे प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी ने देश को संबोधित करते हुए लॉकडाउन को बढ़ाने की घोषणा कर दी। यानी अब अगले 19 दिन आप सभी को अपने घरों में ही बंद रहना पड़ेगा। लॉकडाउन के पहले चरण में जनता ने कई गलतियां की थी जिन्हें हमें आगे दोहराने से बचना होगा। तब जाकर हम कोरोना वायरस को पूरी तरह से खत्म कर सकेंगे। नागरिक धर्म का पालन कोरोना वायरस के बढ़ते संक्रमण को रोकने के लिए पूरे देश को बंद कर दिया गया। कुछ जगहों को छोड़कर पूरे देश में कर्फ्यू न लगाकर लॉकडाउन लागू किया गया। लेकिन कुछ लोगों ने इस छूट का खूब फायदा उठाया। लोग घर के अंदर रहने के बजाय सड़कों पर घूमते हुए दिखे। बिना किसी काम के गाड़ी लेकर घूमते हुए मिले। जब लोग नियमों का पालन नहीं कर रहे तो पुलिसकर्मियों को सख्त होना पड़ा और नियम तोड़ने वालों के खिलाफ सख्त कार्रवाई की गई। लेकिन अब लॉकडाउन 2।0 में देशवासियों को अपने नागरिक धर्म का पालन करते हुए पूरी तरह घरों के भीतर ही रहना चाहिए। पीएम की अपील का नाजायज फायदा इस मुश्किल घड़ी में लोगों में एकजुटता बरक़रार रखने के लिए पीएम मोदी ने जनता से दो बार अलग-अलग तरह की अपील की लेकिन अतिउत्साही लोगों ने पीएम की अपील की धज्जिया उड़ा दी। 22 मार्च को घरों में रहकर ताली-थाली बजाने की जगह लोगों ने रैली निकाली और एक-दूसरे के संपर्क में आए। तब्लीगी जमात जैसे धार्मिक आयोजन से बचें 13 मार्च को नई दिल्ली में तब्लीगी जमात का आयोजन हुआ जिसमें ब्रूनेई, कंबोडिया, मलेशिया, सिंगापुर, थाईलैंड और वियतनाम से लोग भारत पहुंचे थे। इस दौरान कोरोना वायरस संक्रमित लोगों के संपर्क में आने से कोरोना वायरस तेजी से फैल गया। वैसे तो कोविड-19 के मद्देनजर बड़े आयोजनों पर पाबंदी लगा दी गई थी, लेकिन फिर भी निजामुद्दीन में भारी भीड़ जुटी और हमारी एजेंसियों भी इसे रोकने में नाकाम रहीं। अपमान नहीं हौसला अफजाई की जरूरत देश की रक्षा के लिए और लॉकडाउन का पालन करवाने के लिए सभी जगह पुलिसकर्मियों को तैनात किया गया है। डॉक्टर भी कोरोना संक्रमित लोगों का इलाज करने के लिए अपनी जान पर खेल रहे हैं। लॉकडाउन के दौरान कई जगहों से पुलिसवालों और स्वास्थ्यकर्मियों पर हमला करने की घटनाएं सामने आ रही हैं। जो लोग अपनी जान को खतरे में डालकर आपकी जान बचा रहे हैं कुछ लोग उन्ही का अपमान कर रहे हैं, उन्हें अपशब्द कह रहे हैं, उनके साथ मारपीट कर रहे हैं। इसके अलावा कई जगहों पर कोरोनावायरस के ऐसे मरीज जो इस बी���ारी को हराकर आए हैं उनके प्रति सहानुभूति रखने के बजाय असंवेदनशीलता दिखाई जा रही है। मरीजों और उसके करीबियों से अछूत की तरह व्यवहार किया जा रहा है। आप सभी से निवेदन है कि कृपया ऐसे लोगों का सम्मान करें उनका हौसला अफजाई करें। नियमों को तोड़कर न करें समाजसेवा मुसीबत के समय मदद करना सबसे बड़ा पुण्य होता है लेकिन मदद करने के लिए किसी नियमों का उल्लंधन नहीं करना चाहिए। कई सामाजिक संगठन और युवा नेता राजनीति के क्षेत्र में नाम कमाने के लिए बड़ी-बड़ी रसोईघरों में खाना पकवा रहे हैं, जहां लोगों की भीड़ जुट जाती है जिससे कोरोना वायरस संक्रमण के फैलने का ज्यादा खतरा रहता है। यदि आप को वाकई में सेवा करनी है तो आप घर में रहकर करें। इस मुसीबत की घड़ी में आप शासन-प्रशासन का सहयोग करें। आप चाहे तो बांटने के सामान पुलिस थाने में जमा कर सकते हैं क्योंकि लोगों तक राशन, सब्जी दूध प्रशासन पहुंचा रहा है। ऐसा करने से आप समाजसेवा भी कर सकेंगे और प्रशासन व पुलिसवालों की परेशानी भी नहीं बढ़ेगी। Read the full article
