What a disaster. A MESS!
Xerosic sank his face into his palms, pale skin seemingly more pale than ever while stress baked over his expression. He only lifted his face slightly so that he could pay mind to the screens playing before him--one separate for the recorded signals, another for vitals, another for visual, another for the cocoon's vitals, just in case, just in case. Clearly it wasn't so unnecessary when a quarter of the active staff that day was now stone.
Not to mention...Given the circumstances of what occurred, Xerosic would hardly be surprised if their current sedatives would no longer work--not without causing another incident. That which could absolutely not happen. They were already dealing with the mental repracautions of putting a child through something so disastrous. He could at least--at least--be grateful that she was still alive. To imagine if a sudden years long investment suddenly kicked the bucket would do nothing but cause imbalance.
That hardly meant this was without consequence, no no, far from it! An utter disaster in Xerosic's mind--how could he have let this happen?! The head scientist pressed his palms against his face further, rubbing before dropping hands upon the table. Papers somehow still neatly placed as the data remained at a pause for now.
--SYv:D was placed under after use of M████████. █.█ mg. Vitals stable for the first 23 minutes at which there was a sudden fluctuation in heart rate, blood pressure, and increased brain activity. At the same time, there seemed to be a sudden influx of movement within the cocoon. Possible connection to incident, look into later/request Celosia for help from the Neural Department.
--Incident report: Accidental injury near O.S causing a sudden wave of █████. Resulting in temporary loss of power. SYv:D briefly missing. Upon search, discovered that SYv:D had absorbed the life of all individuals in a ██ radius around it. SYv:D found est. 11 minutes after incident and taken out of the lab.
--Immediate Hypothesis: Injury caused incident. Body's attempt to regenerate. SYv:D's O.S no longer has depth, yet no injury or pain was registered. Look into vitals for future reference, look into video before power outage.
--Prior to incident, exhaustion/energy depleting rapidly upon waking up, fatigue at a steady increase. Directly after, fatigue is no longer an issue, overly energetic, almost placed under a 'high' after intake of life. Look into how much life was taken in, attempt to measure. Could be beneficial for future use of Absorbers in powering the weapon. Cocoon may not be necessary. Look into this further. Discuss with Lysandre later.
--Look into sedative replacements to M████████ for after successful recover of SYv:D. Adverse reactions to the lab prove difficult for future procedures. If M████████ and other sedatives cause another incident, it could prove even more difficult. Look into stability methods. Conditioned commands may still apply.
Xerosic let out a low groan before leaning back in his chair, staring at the screens once more right before readings had been unfortunately stopped. He would need to look into ways to avoid possible future outages...If a breakout were to occur because of it...Even more problems would be on his hands. Once more, he pressed his palm to his face and shook his head.
He would need to stop at the estate soon, perhaps he should stay at the labs there for now on...That might at least prevent future issues, and be able to have a constant report of vitals. Hoping for a quick recovery.

--and Silva definitely knows that she's self sabotaging herself. She can't NOT know that some actions are fucking her over. Like literally texting Lysandre or Xerosic, WHICH puts a dot on their map as to where she was when she sent it. Literally like. SHE KNOWS. She's in denial, but she knows.

Flashback + everyone's favorite clone bc I'm self centered
Lysandre's gaze resided over the capsules--some of them had growing organisms, others were being prepped for it. The new duplicative project was incoming, it should very well assist with the development of not only cloning, but also the creation of an organism from very little. A way to assure extinction is no longer applicable, in the right conditions.
" how is the development of this attempt? "
He turned to look towards one of the scientists--Xerosic was busy with the newly acquired cocoon to be working on this project. Luckily, the duplicative branch was expansive. His organization was more than just one or two brilliant scientists, the point was to make a place where intellect and innovation could flourish. With the intended goal of making the world more beautiful. A perfect, fascinating world.
Tumblr media
" very well. this one should be a success. we will keep you updated in case we get an unexpected development. "
Gaze passed over it, this was meant to be a base. Humans were less complex than pokemon, in most ways, yet still proved enough of a challenge. Once a success was made with this, they could look more into the the use of human specimen as bases for cloning things like legendaries, or rarer individuals.
" wonderful. "

lysandre is now thanos, and just like thanos the heroes will probably never actually tell him his worldview is wrong, only that the violent part is, but at least that's a motivation that suits his thoughtful emotional self better than mr. Holo Caster cleansing the greedy filth from europe by [checks notes] charging a flat fee to not be killed unless a child wins a coin flip
I can't really speak to Thanos. I don't really...know the guy. But Lysandre is at least understandable when you push him through the lens of like..."it's these filthy poor people fighting over resources and learned their place this wouldn't be a problem." Like, his entire agency is the upper crust. They're a bunch of rich people with the mentality of beauty and personal interest being central to their identity. And like, the coin flip is interesting because it's not the outcome that matters, it's the choice. Serena (or Calem) pushing that button is them choosing, on their own, to take everyone's lives into their hands by playing the game at all. You could've left. Could've stopped Xerosic and ensured neither could be pressed and left it to someone else. It's one of the few segments where your friends aren't even around. It's a major event that you, this exceptional trainer who excels at everything, far above your friends' abilities, take on alone, and I feel like that's exactly what Lys would want.
But yeah, they're setting up to really not focus on anything about him. It's the same issue with Cyrus and Lusamine. Cyrus in the Sinnoh VA starts out interesting, but backpedals into just...being removed from everything and accomplishing nothing. Lusamine continues to have the issue of never, ever addressing the things she did wrong. Even the SS Lusamine event implies her only mistake was treating Necrozma as a threat to be defeated, rather than treating herself as the sole possible savior of the multiverse and abandoning her kids for some grand ambition that looks like protection rather than being protection. Like she's still as controlling as ever, only instead of personal obsession with the beasts they studied that had caused such trauma for the family, it's obsession with the idea that she's the only one capable of stopping a problem that's not even really a problem that the Ultra Recon Squad's people are kinda directly responsible for causing? USUM was a mess.
Anyway, point is, I don't expect them to do well with Lysandre here. I just want them to do something I can enjoy reading, and if that means Lysandre is a backdrop in his own arc so we can focus on building up Looker Fam Lore with Emma, fine. Just give me Anabel in like 2-3 business months with Alola VA and we're golden.

A quick rundown of the universes the litleos have been in prior to their default canon timeline point. A lot are blank and will be updated later. (And some are vague/blank on purpose to leave room for future worldbuilding based on them).
The one constant is their inability to stop their family from attempting The Thing (the ultimate weapon plot) and getting themselves killed in the process.
Timeline 0: their original timeline
Timeline 1:
Timeline 2: the timeline where Sycamore and Lysandre were together. The couple and the children they'd always wanted that the multiverse just gifted them made a happy family until Lysandre did The Thing and died.
Timeline 3:
Timeline 4:
Timeline 5:
Timeline 6: the timeline where they thought they were so close to success - then Lysandre and Malva were doing The Thing behind their backs. When confronting their parents, Lysandre became convinced that they weren't actually his multiverse children but enemies meant to infiltrate Flare and threaten his plan, and tried to murder them. They had to kill him and Xerosic in self defense. The Malva of this timeline survived and succeeded in the Weapon, but her mental state is not the best and she's formed Team PRISM (female villains' version of Rainbow Rocket) for her various schemes.
Timeline 7:
Timeline 8:
Timeline 9:
Timeline 10:
Timeline 11:
Timeline 12:
Timeline 13: the default point in which interactions occur. They're in your timeline now and want to know your location-

I'm unsure whether I really want Lysandre's Pokémon to have died in Geosenge. I don't actually want that, so I'm going to bend reality and reason and do what I want.
They were found scattered at the site in their respective Pokéballs and were collected by either an ex-Flare Grunt or ... Somebody else. Xerosic, maybe? Malva? Interpol?
I love them sm ;;;;;; I don't want them to be punished for Lysandre's madness, even if he deserves zero good things ever.
So that's my self-indulgent hc for the day because I have emotional attachment to these critters.

#3amblackpoetry in July Prompt 23: Xerosis, Xebec, Xenial Prompt 23, 2020: Surreptitiously Spellbound
by Reza Rites
Y'all, it's Tuesday. Yet I, like many around the country and world, have spent the last few days (weeks, years) and then hours surreptitiously and openly following the story of USA Olympian Simone Biles. Right before our eyes, she has moved from highest-ranking gymnast, to gymnast being given scores with built-in anchors that kept her points extraneously lower than where they should be as an accommodation to her competition, to a gymnast who took second place at one of her events, to a person who is stepping away to make sure her mental health is in check. We've also seen tennis champion Naomi Osaka be outspoken about the need to center her own mental health, and for further inspiration (at least for me), we see athletes like the team from Norway protesting bikini bottoms and opting for full coverage sports, the Paralympian who spoke up about the Olympic management not fully honoring the accommodations and services of players with disabilities, and a sports reporter whose excellence was questioned just for the contrarian and whole world to see her move to even bigger and more prominent assignments. Athletes are humans first and Black Excellence isn't just a cute term; enough is enough with all things communicating the contrary.
I can partially relate to the enough is enough sentiment, which is why I took the day off yesterday. Yes, the goal of writing challenges and daily prompts is to create a ritual that sees you writing every day, but, at least for me, it is also about developing and constantly updating the ability to hear and trust my own voice. You cannot move a story or poem forward if you are always second-guessing those exact and precise moments of clarity that come to you. For me, yesterday, I heard such a clarion call, but this time it wasn't related to writing. When two friends spontaneously asked if I wanted to join them for a quick meet-up, before I could even weigh out and compare my xeroses- and panic-inducing tasklist versus their time-sensitive invitation, I had already said yes. When the warm, xenial, yet concise visit was over, I still had time to write and archive. That is until I drove past the water and the essence of the sea whispered in my ear, asking if I had time for a quick visit there too. Once again my subconsciousness answered before I could, and it wasn't long before I was gazing dreamily at miniature-waves that pushed sea froth against the seashell-lined shore, and at the horizon where sailboats and xebecs of a New England variety passed by, both, paradoxically, mighty and miniature in size. I had an epiphany, of sorts, upon reaching the beach: I needed a break from my boss and her workload, which in this case was me and what I was assigning to myself.
The poem included with today's post, Perennials, Part IV, touches on and issues a reminder to stay devoted to self-care. I'm glad to get back to things, but if I need another day, I'll make or request time with people I love, I'll visit and commune with the sea, or I'll look to the Osaka or Biles technique for getting the care I need. Happy #3amblackpoetry in July.

pokemon! for the fandom thingy
The first character I first fell in love with: Team Rocket Trio! The character I never expected to love as much as I do now: CHARONThe character everyone else loves that I don’t: Hmm I dunno? Well I don’t really like all the fandom fave sexy characters I guess? But that’s how i am with every fandom. The character I love that everyone else hates: CHARON AGAIN lolThe character I used to love but don’t any longer: Faba after USUM. like man that sucks! I liked him a lot as a sort of harmless villain in the original sun and moon, and like.. that moral ambiguity where technically he didn’t do anything evil on his own, he was just a slimy dude following lusamine’s evil orders for selfish reasons. It at least made sense there that he’d be forgiven and just demoted to a lower role, cos I mean... we never even knew if he WAS evil, or if he was just a jerkass normal employee who was equally as in the dark about lusamine’s true intentions as everyone else was. I kinda felt invested in that hypothetical, and I felt proud of him for being a random champion rematch candidate, like yay go faba please try and better yourself! But then in USUM lusamine is horribly lamely retconned into goodness instead of even being redeemed, and faba is left how he already was and even suddenly becomes a betrayer to his own company even though he never had that character trait before. Now the fatc they somehow magically forgive him makes no damn sense! You just confirmed he was never genuine about wanting to change! And don’t even get me STARTED on the anime Faba!! I’m so salty cos they played up his comedy villain stuff that i loved, but also made him the real one responsible for every damn abusive thing lusamine ever did, aaaa. And his dub voice sucks!!!But yeah i don’t really not like him? i just used to have him as a fave and be all ‘yay, it’s Charon’s Plot But Better’ and now its ‘Nope It Was Worse’. And all my redeemability headcanons are far more Confirmed Wrong than they were with Charon.Poor bean dad u had so much potentials...The character I would totally smooch:  nopeThe character I’d want to be like: I think maybe Xerosic actually! I wanna be a self-confident goofy supervillain type in a snazzy outfit! Tho I’d also like to be a good guy who just acts like a supervillain lol. maybe even a pokeprofessor? The character I’d slap: Charon again XD I love u potentials, grandpa, but srsly get u shit together!A pairing that I love: absuristshipping (dia and pearl from the manga!)A pairing that I despise: Any of the weird amount of creepy giant age gap pairings that this fandom seems to have. I dunno what it is about pokemon that makes so many of these! Leave the poor kids alone!

Oh no, I read your analysis very thoroughly (Around 4 times actually, Its really great stuff!) I just have a personal view when it comes to the Pokemon franchise regarding things like that. Just Mega Pokedex entries that describe painful processes making a Pokemon strong (Like melting, Glalie's jaw being smashed, Tyranitar's back opening up, Scizor dying after a fight etc) rub me the wrong way since....You never really see it. Maybe its because I love Alain. But, I still love your work here.
The mega evolution Pokédex entries are a completely different kettle of fish. They were written in order to demonize mega evolution because Game Freak, for whatever reason, felt it necessary to do so in order to push Z-Moves as the hot new thing instead. I have no idea why they thought this; they’ve never had to demonize a previous mechanic before in order to push a new one, but that certainly seems to be the case. So I agree with you that the mega evolution entries are nonsense, particularly considering the ones that insinuate that pokémon become crazed killing machines as a result of it. We’re not only told time and again that the love between humans and pokémon is what makes mega evolution possible, but we see this in the anime canon with pairs such as Alan and Lizardon themselves. The bond between them “overcomes reason” and “surpasses its limitations.” The love they have for each other routinely pushes them to new heights. The idea that mega evolution is something barbaric or painful for the pokémon is absolutely nonsensical when you look at pairs such as them. Alan would never do anything that would bring harm to Lizardon. Never once. So yeah, the mega evolution ‘dex entries are utter nonsense.
However, it’s also incorrect to say that Pokémon would never touch on concepts such as self-harm or suicide. While the series is limited in what it can actually show due to needing to be accessible to children, Hunter J and her entire crew were killed in the DP arc of the anime. Team Flare’s goal is, explicitly, to cause mass genocide. He dies, and tries to take children out with him, in the games. Squishy kills him in the anime on Bonnie’s command. Xerosic throws Clemont into an oven in the Pokémon Special manga. Mewtwo murders Dr Fuji and all the other scientists in the anime. In the games he also kills the other scientists that created him, though Dr Fuji escapes and becomes Mr Fuji instead. They committed “horrific gene splicing” to create him in the first place. Lusamine not only explicitly abused both Gladion and Lillie by their own admission, but she blatantly verbally abuses them right in front of the player by calling them things such as traitors despite how she “only ever gave them love” (despite, again, both of them telling us how she abused them), and so on and so forth. Topics such as abuse, murder, death, destruction, self-harm and more have been convered by this series since it first began in 1998 (1996, really, going by the Japanese release date of the original games). I mean, Team Rocket murdered a marowak so that they could sell her child for profit. You had to fight said marowak’s ghost so that she could move on to the afterlife. We might not have seen the murder take place, but that happened in the Gen I games, and considering the fact that the Gen VI games dealt with mass genocide, we can see that things have not lightened up since then.
So while the games are limited in what they can show, heavy and dark concepts have never been foreign to this series. The Pokémon world is not averse to touching on serious themes like this. Regardless of how bright it may appear on the surface, and though sometimes things are merely left implied so this series is accessible to kids, that doesn’t mean those themes aren’t there. In fact, it’s a good thing they are, so that kids who are suicidal or who need support can know that it’s okay to reach out for that sort of help. And even setting that aside, to be blunt, if we can have a Big Bad actively fight for mass genocide, we can certainly have characters who struggle with mental health. Really, one of these things is more frightening than the other, and it’s not hard to see which one.
With all of that said, though, I really hope you’re not implying that I don’t love Alan because I recognize the times we do see him self-harm (like, a lot of the death that happens in Pokémon is merely implied, but Alan’s self-harm is not, it’s shown to us, we do see that), or because I recognize the very bad place he was in, emotionally and mentally, at the end of the series. As I said, there is no character I relate to more than Alan. There is no fictional character I love more than I love Alan. That boy is everything to me, and a big part of the reason why he’s everything to me is because of how much I see myself in him, and how complex he is, and how much is accomplished with his character. I love him so much that I will not only not follow people who talk smack on him, but I’ll actively block them. So I really hope I’m just misunderstanding you here (and if so, I sincerely apologize), and that you’re not insinuating that I don’t love him because I see, recognize, and talk about the struggles he goes through, because trust me, absolutely nothing could be farther from the truth.

Cool Asks For Fic Writers: 1, 6, 8, 10, 18, 19, 20
1. Describe yourself how you would describe a character you’re introducing. What caught your attention first was her figure. Short, bold, heavily curvy with a chest most women would kill for and one she would probably kill to lessen. Hourglass shape softened by the bit of pudge to her stomach. Her stance said confidence, arms folded and weight on one hip. Her glance said shy, only glimpsing at eye contact before darting away. A short, asymmetrical pixie cut of brown hair crowned her head, wide rectangular glasses offsetting a round face. Her eyes and cheeks lent her face more to smiling than frowning, bright.
6. First fic/pairing you wrote for? (If no pairing, describe the plot)Shiiiiiiiit. I really gotta think back for this one. I want to say a Yu-Gi-Oh fic, just as the DOMA plot was really getting into stride? So somewhere in 2006? I don’t remember the plot and I kinda don’t want to, I mentally embarrass myself enough as it is, I don’t need to do it more. If it helps, that original fic morphed into Illusory Love, which is on my ffnet account. If you want to read some bad writing. That was a self-insert OC/Yugi pairing. I was just starting high school at the time, so I needed the self-esteem boost.
8. Why do you choose to write?Anger and Spite and the NEED to create. You’d be surprised what you can come up with when you’re pissed as hell. Creativity doesn’t always have to come from a happy place, though it can and often does. Anger can be as much of an inspiration as joy, or sadness. Also the need for Satisfaction. Those are my big motivators.
10. What inspires you the most?Sometimes it’s the most random of things. Usually, like above, it’s anger. Something pissed me off. All my friends will tell you, I get really creative when I’m ragingly angry. My rants can be beautiful pieces of work in and of themselves.
18. How old were you when you started writing?Shit, I don’t know. The youngest I can definitely remember is 12/13. I do have a vague memory of trying to write something at age 5 or 6, but giving up pretty easily for a long while.
19. Why did you start writing?Frankly? I got tired of the damn story writing itself in my head and I wanted it OUT. I had a habit of disassociating a LOT when I was younger (still do, a little) and I would fill the ‘missing time’ with stories.I also enjoy the description and pull that words give when crafted properly.
20. 4 sentences from your work that you’re proud of.(May have to cheat at this a little bit. There’s a lot I’m proud of. Also, some of it isn’t posted yet, and won’t be for a long while.)“Something ancient and hereditary in the very deepest part of her mind saw the Horns and understood why this world had such a reverence for their Gods still.” – Eyes of the Beholder, Chapter 19, 'Do You Got Room For One More Troubled Soul?’“Fuck continuity straight up the stable time loop.” –Unposted Looker Missions fic.“Your research was never correct, Xerosic!” she yelled. “Anything that can take away the free will and consent of another sentient being will always be wrong. And I will risk everything that I am to end this, not only as a detective, or Champion, but as Emma’s big sister, you piece of shit!” –Unposted Looker Missions fic.“Stars among multitudes of stars revealed themselves in the night sky, as if some great creator had tried to shove as many points of light into the inky black as they could and still call it ‘night.’ The rim of the galactic cluster ripped a line of pale, pastel white across the depths, brighter than she’d even seen from the Milky Way galaxy in her own sky. Gentle curls waved off the main path like the searching tendrils of a vine. The moon was a thin, bright crescent of white in one impossible corner of that night sky.” –Eyes of the Beholder, Chapter 10, 'I’ve Got It, Just Breathe’

Sylvestre and Ariella - Headcanon Dump I
This is in no particular order. I just have Some Thoughts about these kids and don't want to make your dash implode from 463829292 posts.
Part 1: Power and Battling
Ariella was born gifted with fire magic. So gifted and powerful, in fact, that it literally hurts her not to use it. She doesn't know this, but this was the accidental result of her original Lysandre and Malva having an ancient occult artifact they didn't know was mutagenic in nature in their living room when Malva was pregnant with her. (I could describe that, but it would be better put in another worldbuilding post.) And when Ariella determines something is a threat to her or her family, she will absolutely burn it up with her powers. She can manipulate and create fire, raise and lower the ground, and create objects such as chains and knives out of fire energy. In fact, the way the siblings travel the multiverse is that Ariella literally burns a hole in reality - something she accidentally did out of despair when their original parents died.
Sylvestre, on the other hand, is talented at fighting with physical weaponry. He doesn't look it, as he's basically a bean pole compared to his father, but he has trained in fencing since he was a small child, and this talent has translated to all sorts of sharp melee weaponry. His aim with ranged weaponry, such as guns, could use some work, but he could certainly kill someone at point blank range if need be.
What Ariella and Sylvestre aren't gifted with are Pokemon. They are good at battle tactics, and as descendants of the Kalosian Royal family, they can teach the signature move Royal Flame - a version of Heat Wave with swapped accuracy and power that has a 100% chance of leaving a burn. However, they've shut their hearts off from bonding with Pokemon, after the Pyroars their original parents gave them died trying to protect them. They're afraid of either losing their Pokemon or dragging them into their multiversal groundhog day hell. So, when leaving a world that didn't work out, they always re-home the Pokemon they allied with into a better place. Just because they're fated with traveling the multiverse to try to save their parents doesn't mean these Pokemon need to go through that hell.
These children are loyal to Lysandre and Malva. Loyal to a fault. However, the Lysandres and Malvas of the multiverse have not always reciprocated this, or even tolerated it. A few times, the pair have been violently rejected. Most of the time they were able to merely incapacitate their rogue parents and flee to another world, but one particularly bad time, that world's Lysandre became convinced they were enemies sent to infiltrate and stop Flare. And so. They had to kill that Lysandre and Xerosic in self defense. Ariella killed Lysandre, and Sylvestre killed Xerosic. The pair escaped before Malva could arrive, or they would have had to kill her in self defense as well. (However, if they think that's the last they'll see of that Malva... they are sorely mistaken. But that's for another worldbuilding post.)

Lysandre has to admit that there’s a small leap in his heart when he hears those words- and he isn’t sure if he should consider it fear or self-preservation, but where he would have stopped himself before, pulled back, he pushes forward regardless.
“You don’t seem to understand how kind I’m being. I’m no petty thug on his knees promising you filthy money if you just look the other way, just this once.
I’m trying to- what do they say in Unova- level with you. I want to approach you as a man of equal standing, and you won’t give me the same treatment. What a waste of our time together.”
He pushes his chair back a little, and stands. Two of the ‘patrons’ lurch forward to bar the door.
“If you want to reject my generosity, then expect no more of it. I try to give, and you force me to take.
Xerosic left behind a prototype of his work with Emma- it looks like I’ll be taking that instead, along with whatever other research she has access to. Will it hurt her to take these things away from her? I’m not certain. But it won’t be pleasant.”
His fingers drum on the tabletop, impatient and judgmental all at once.
“Just a little information, sir. A little information, and this young woman can continue on her way, each day like the last. Try something foolish, and her day gets worse.”
He smiles a Cheshire smile, and fixes his collar.
“And if you want someone to blame for getting her involved, well- he’s already behind bars, isn’t he?”

MIND : Does your muse act after their rationality or emotions? Why?
This was already answered a little bit here in regards to her thoughts about rationality versus emotions, but for the way Serena actually acts? She tends to do so after both of them, however very rarely at equal levels. Serena will try to act as rationally as possible within a given situation, but by nature she is a very emotional person as well, so it inadvertently plays a role in her actions. It depends on the severity of the situation, her headspace, what has happened immediately beforehand, and what is at stake.
For example, during the final incident with Team Flare, upon arriving in Geosenge Town and seeing her significant other at the time crushed beneath debris, Serena’s rationality temporarily flew out of the window, and understandably so. The rational thing would have been to leave him there and take care of Team Flare, because she is not a trained medical professional and thus could not do anything, but instead she spent precious minutes at his side. In fact, she refused to leave until her own pokemon drilled some sense back into her. And the same thing almost happened again, when they passed by the gates to the Menhir Trail, and saw the pokemon bound to the stones and having their life drained from them. In those cases, because of the trauma, severity of the situation, and her own turmoil, her emotions overrode her decision making for a little bit.
However, outside of that situation, she is more likely to act based on rationality, with her emotions just there as something to make sure Serena knows, in her heart, that she is doing the right thing. Like a moral compass of sorts. The only true exception to this is if the heroine is presented with an ultimatum, or a situation similar to the one in Team Flare’s Laboratory, where Xerosic forced her to pick one of two buttons. Due to the trauma and memories associated with that kind of situation, she will also likely act irrationality, and more in-line with emotions and self-preservation.
SIGHT : How is your muse’s sleeping schedule? Do they have a regular sleeping pattern, or if not, do they even want to have one? Does your muse sleep easily, or prefer to be awake for as long as they possibly can?
Serena has a good sleeping schedule, but not a good sleeping pattern. She has a set bedtime, especially during ballet season when a day, for her, consists of dancing or rehearsing for up to eleven hours. It has been something the heroine has been very good at since childhood, again due to the fact that her years at the academy were demanding, days were long, and if she could not dance both in the morning and at night, she would not be able to keep up. So, to Serena, having a good sleeping schedule is second nature to her, and if anything interrupts it, she is also quite capable of getting back into the routine very quickly.
As for her sleeping patterns-- or if she sleeps easily--, that is a little more complicated. Serena, after the events of X, is somniphobic-- she fears falling asleep. It is a fear that has manifested over the years after dealing with Team Flare, as she suffers from extremely frequent night terrors, and nightmares in general. And while it is rare for her to wake up during an episode, sometimes it can, and render Serena too afraid to fall back asleep after that-- or, if she somehow manages to, her sleep itself is pretty bad. And prior to/during the events of Sun and Moon, Serena used to rely on Rosen to feed on her emotions in a desperate attempt to try and reduce the severity of episodes.
In fact, her night terrors, nightmares and somniphobia is so bad that, during her trip to Alola after the events of Sun and Moon have taken place-- her first family vacation with her father--, she was unable to hide it from Looker and the two had serious talks about her situation. It, ultimately, resulted in Serena looking for service pokemon to help, resulting in her taking in an Alolan Vulpix, now Ninetales, she named Primrose. She, quite literally, almost cannot sleep without the pokemon curled up on or around her, as the Ninetales is specifically trained in calming her anxiety around sleeping, removing night terrors/nightmares, or even forcing her to sleep if necessary.
