My identity was that of a party girl. I never thought alcohol would ever leave my life. And it didn’t happen over night. Identity shifts don’t. They can be slow, messy and even painful. I got sober once and at first nobody could believe it when I said I didn’t drink. They thought it wouldn’t last. And one year in, just as they started to accept this new me, I had a sip of champagne and I was back on the train. Until I wasn’t. And whilst the decision felt easy I had built this fortitude from within. That held me on the path. My identity switch didn’t happen right away, it never does. I had to harness myself in for safety. I had to steer the ship towards the new identity I desired. It was only then that I could truly embody her. The new me. The girl who stayed sober for 5 years. And is now heading towards six. You can take on any identity you wish to. You just need to hold the vision with your spine, and dare to do it. You’ve got it in you. What identity are you leaning into? 📸 @loveandlegends #identitycrisis #sobergirl #sobergirlsociety #selfcareforprofessionals #mindsetcoach #mindsetcoachingforwomen #mindsetcoachingforwomen #nextlevelthinking #changeyourhabits #changeyourhabitschangeyourlife https://www.instagram.com/p/ClAqaAWuWM4/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

This was from the Adobe Document Cloud "The Future of Time" survey released yesterday on Thursday, August 26, 2021. The survey was conducted on 2,100 small- and midsize business leaders and 3,400 employees of large companies in the U.S., the U.K., France, Germany, Australia, New Zealand, and Japan. Leaders should also practice self-care. It's like the saying goes, you can't take care of someone if you haven't taken care of yourself. So, as leaders, we should make sure that we exemplify this so that our employees feel that it is ok if they do the same. 1. Have set work times and do not respond to emails or chats outside of those hours 2. If you do decide to respond to an email or chat, make sure the person understands that you do not expect a response back. 3. Take your PTO and make sure that your backup has everything he/she needs, so you are 100% off work. 4. Make sure your employees know it is ok to take time off as long as they have someone who can be their alternate. 5. Have a public calendar where everyone puts their time off, so everyone isn't taking off at the same time 6. Don't work on your days off 7. Empower your people and learn to delegate Please comment with your advice to make sure leaders and employees aren't stressed and tired to the point that you will lose great people. #projectmanagerslife #peoplemanagement #projectmanagers #project_manager #organizationalgoals #employer #workculture #leadershiptips #leaderscreateleaders #leadershipmatters #projectmanager #employee #mentors #careeradvice #projectmanagement #management #leaders #leader #leadership #success #worklifebalance #selfcareforprofessionals #selfcareforleaders (at Washington D.C.) https://www.instagram.com/p/CTFG0Kjt3ZZ/?utm_medium=tumblr

November 4th is Check Your Blood Pressure Day. The good thing with how intense the election is. Over half of adults have high blood pressure. It is known as the "silent killer." Stress can lead to high blood pressure. 2020 has definitely been stressful for many of us, especially with all the changes we've had to endure. As a working mom taking care of an infant, finishing my MBA program, and leading projects, I know how stress can be. Throughout the day: 1. Take mini-breaks 2. Make sure not to eat lunch while sitting in front of the computer screen 3. Do not check email every second of the day. Plan the times to check it 4. Turn off the phone and TV sometimes My dad bought me a blood pressure machine because he has high blood pressure. I check it every month. 120/80 is considered normal. If it gets 130/80 or above, then get checked out. I tend to suffer from low blood pressure, and that can sometimes not be good either. If you get lower than 90/60 and suffer from dizziness, nausea, and/or fatigue, get checked out. #work_life_balance #worklifebalancegoals #worklifebalanced #balanceforbetter #balancedlifestyle #balanced #worklifebalance #workbalance #workfamilybalance #lifeworkbalance#balance #happyworkhappylife #happyworkingmom #workhappy #happywork #happylifestyle #enjoyyourlife #workmode #workworkwork #bloodpressure #checkyourbloodpressure #silentkiller #selfcare #selfcareforprofessionals #selfcareformoms https://www.instagram.com/p/CHLBj7cH4ji/?igshid=1emzy90htkoe1
