May I request some friends to lovers style headcannons with Seliph and the Summoner? I picture them bonding over there shared circumstances of being on a pedestal

i know you said hcs but i've got a lil scenario here for you

Seliph tries his best. He might not be as skilled or as confident as some of the other heroes, but he's always determined to ensure no harm befalls you. But he does wonder, why you picked him. "I must confess to you Summoner, I'm not sure I understand why you continue to take me into battle with you." You seem confused by his words but he continues nonetheless. "There are so many great warriors among your army that better fit the title of hero. I feel as though I don't even come close to that label."

"I wouldn't be able to tell the difference, frankly." You pause, a frown forming on your features before continuing. "I don't know anything about war, I never have. I came from a world that was well and truly in peace times. A world where I was just a normal person living from day to day." And at your confession, Seliph is stunned. He knew you were from a different world, it's what many bring up when they sing your praise. Summoner, the great tactician from another world, almost destined to win Askr's wars for them. But no one mentions what your world was like.

"My apologies, I wasn't aware what your world was like." Your frown eases into a sympathetic smile.

"Not many people do. It's a bit hard to tell people that when they place all their hopes on your shoulders." He nods in understanding. He's been in a similar position more times then he can count, and even here, he still feels as though he's living behind an ideal of himself.

"There isn't quite a struggle out there like attempting to be yourself to people who have managed to convince themselves what you already are."

"You sound like you're speaking from experience."

"Even now people here look at me so strangely, speak of me so highly. I have yet to do anything so praise worthy. I wonder if you feel similarly?" You nod at his question. And it troubles him, knowing that there isn't much he can do to help. "If you require someone to share your woes with, I am here." It feels like a trivial consolation, but your expression seems to brighten at his offer.

"Thank you, Seliph." There's a brief silence, before you speak again. "For what it's worth, in my eyes you're a hero and that's why I'll always depend on you." And at that he feels his own expression brighten, the smile that appears on his lips impossible to fight back.

"...thank you, Summoner."

Even if he isn't the strongest, or the most skilled. For as long as you depend on him, he'll do his best to protect you. And in the end that's all you ever ask of him.

Now that Fire Emblem Heroes has opened it's yearly Choose Your Legends voting period.... I am kindly asking you to consider sparing a vote (or two!) to two of my favorites in the series: F!Robin and Sigurd!

Why?

Well let's start with Robin,

Robin fans won out last year when their Male counterpart won the male division of CYL 7 alongside Soren and I'm sure many F!Robin fans (myself included) helped him reach that victory by voting, just as we did in previous years with Chrom and A!Tiki. F!Robin has waited for her time to shine and has supported her competition for several years now. It's time for her to receive the Awakening vote love!

If that wasn't enough to sway you, let's look at F!Robin's legacy in FEH.

1. Her base version was a year 1 grail unit with a mediocre (affectionate) refine that takes max investment to work around

2. Her summer alt is a year one seasonal with a bad weapon and book 1 era stats (but she sure is cute!)

3. Her legendary alt isn't even her- it's Grima. Grima took away her chance at being a legendary unit

4. Her Halloween alt is another Grima alt. She didn't even get to participate in Halloween because Grima took the spot :(

5. Her Valentine's alt is adorable but still a seasonal locked unit

6. Her rearmed version is yet another Grima.

HALF of all F!Robin's in FEH are Grima alts. There is no F!Robin available to summon in the normal 4/5 star pool. Getting a brave alt would be a big deal for her and her fans.

Now, let's talk about Sigurd

Sigurd comes from FE4, Genealogy of the Holy War, a game I know many of you may not have played yet. That's okay though! I get it! It's a bit old and jank to play and you need to emulate it with a translation patch if you don't understand Japanese. So I'm gonna explain who this man is to you....

Sigurd is the heir to house Chalphy and a descent of the crusader Baldr in Judgral, which makes him kind of a big deal. Throughout his game, he makes allies with many people throughout Judgral in an attempt to unify and fight back against the rising corruption.

Along his journey, he meets Deirdre and the two fall in love and end up having a son together, Seliph. Sigurd is devoted to his family and loves Deirdre more than anything in the world. Sigurd is a family man. Look at this Cipher art if you need more explanation:

(*SPOILERS ahead for FE4, but FEH and Engage already spoiled this so if you somehow don't know what happens to Sigurd, maybe stop reading here*)

Tragedy befalls the couple not long after their son is born... Deirdre is kidnapped and her memories are wiped clean as she is needed for a sinister plot... Her holy blood is needed to help the Loptous cult resurrect their dark God so they use Deirdre as a pawn and marry her off to Arvis.

Sigurd is distraught with his wife gone and searches and searches for her but ultimately must continue through on his plans. He returns to his home and is met by Arvis, the Duke of Velthomer, and the descendant of the imperial family. He welcomes them in as a deceitful trick and declares Sigurd a traitor and calls for his execution. Before he issues the order, Arvis lets Sigurd meet his new wife- Deirdre as a sick and twisted punishment. With that, Arvis calls down Valflame and kills Sigurd and many of his army members.

Sigurd's legacy is carried by his son, Seliph, who will free Judgral from the horrors that the dark cult inflicted many years later.

So that was heavy. But do you understand why he's such a compelling character??? He has such an unfortunate heroes tale, but FEH let's us see him again and be able to reunite him with his love and his son.

Seliph got his own brave alt two years ago in CYL 6 and it feels right for it to be his father's time to step up and shine as a brave hero.

Let's look at Sigurd's legacy in FEH:

1. His base version is a year 1 sword cavalier who's a bit outdated but not unusable by any means with proper skill investment

2. His duo dancer alt is Deirdre is one of the best arts in the game and I won't let anyone convince me otherwise

3. His Legendary alt was a meta threat at one point in time and the art is gorgeous

4. Lastly, this year he got his second seasonal alt, a tea time Butler alt that just cute. He definitely is serving tea for Deirdre and making sure she's happy.

A brave alt just seems perfectly fitting for him at this point!

In conclusion, these are two characters who are ready for their moment to shine in FEH with a brave alt. They've waited for their friends or family members to get there first and now it's (potentially) their time for the brave win. Thank you for reading all this and may the CYL odds be in our favor!

Guess who Cannot be bothered to edit images so instead I'm doing a text version of the favourites of 2023 from u/LiterallyANoob on the Feh Reddit (Read More'd because I'm nice like that, and also because I Cannot be bothered lmao. I've done small changes as well.)

Note that I didn't actually play FEH from February to August this year because I was so fucking bored and burned out because I didn't have any characters I wanted to save up for anymore, so I took a half a year break, and now I have So many units I want and I'm having so much fun with FEH. So here we go! (I'm not limiting myself to singular answers, because Some I have two for, but no more than two per category.)

New Heroes Unit: Syrene <3

Special Unit: Summer!Ivy per default of me loving Ivy but I genuinely don't think a single normal Special unit hit this year.

Legendary/Mythic: Dude this year was Insane for L/Ms, Freyr, Elincia, Nerthuz... I really took a break at the worst time lmao (Or the best?)

Duo/Harmonic: I Think Ymir/Eir? I also really like Sakura/Elise. And Kagero/Orochi was also super cute. I do also really like Duo!Byleth. (I'm not super attached to any special unit from this year, I'm not gonna lie. This year was Not for me on that front, lots of good ones but no Fave Faves.) Tiki/Tiki is cute but I am very afraid this fucks with my copium hopes for a A!Tiki/Nagi Harmonic, so, yknow. I'm just tired of Y!Tiki, frankly.

Attuned/Rearmed/Ascended: R!Plumeria + A!Elincia

Resplendant: Tiki + F!Corrin (I don't care much for the resplendants because I am a stubborn F2Player, but these were So pretty.)

Grail Unit: Lumera I think?

Refine/Remix: L!Seliph, no competition. Absolute beast refine, ridiculous, hilarious, so much fun.

Favourite Unit To Use: L!Seliph. Lmao. Also R!Plumeria because she's really fucking fun. And A!Elincia too. Can you tell I have a whole new favourite team core going on rn?

Overall Favourite of 2023: A!Elincia + R!Plumeria (Yes I love them both so much, I'm so happy I got back just in time to spark Elincia, free-summon Plumeria, And have L!Elincia announced. Actually perfect. Let's just hope Elincia comes home on Monday.)

Biggest Wishes For 2024: Base!Ivy, Almedha, a Blutgang/Dorte Marianne. (In terms of units, ofc. Otherwise I don't really care lmao.)

I've played FEH for several years, logging in almost every single day ever since the first fallen banner, but had to slowly cut down on this once F!E/del dropped. She was making the entire experience miserable and logging in turned from a fun way to build some favs and get some lucky seasonal drops along the way into a slog through a poisonous swamp.

I've had a couple of failed attempts at coming back to the game, where I'd half-heartedly build some counters, but just the thought that I had to waste so many resources on her dumb ass to even have a chance at existing in the PvP modes was just ... blargh. And I'm f2p, so every resource invested in anti-E/del means slightly less options for dealing with L!Sigurd and all the movement shenanigans on that end, etc, etc. She wasn't the only reason I eventually quit, but she was a big part of it. The beginning of the end.

Anyway, flash forward to yesterday. I've just bought a new phone. I think 'fuck it, good time to come back' - more F!E counters, Valentine's banner is pretty and I want that Lucina, Chrom and Seliph braves sound fun, I can actually run the game without burning through all my available memory. I'm in the mood to save orbs and play the damn game.

I wake up today and check the FEH sub. Oh, A Hero Rises interims, cool.

F!Edel first place.

Once again, my nemesis returns to suck the life and joy out of everything. There is no escape, no safe haven, just the same wheel turning endlessly into the abyss. I log on to FEH, she's there. Go on Tungle dot com, the same old arguments. YouTube comments talk about muh grey morality. Twitter always going on about the revolution and the crest system and the fandom homophones. On and on and on and on.

I need a new game. I want to be free. I want new things to argue about. I'm about to lose my mind.

Anyway, what's a Claude headcanon you're particularly fond of? Doesn't have to be your own, maybe just a bit of fanon you think goes well with his game characterisation.

I'm a fairly casual FEH player in that I tend to avoid the PvP parts of the game cuz, like, I also play BBS (Bleach Brave Souls) and know that PvP will always boil down to "if you don't hyper invest on the exact same units as everyone else you will have no chance at winning". It's just the nature of the mode; why use anything but the best? It's why you so rarely see any unique teams on Summoner Duels - it's almost always B!Eirika, Yuri, Duo!Corrin, maybe a dancer (and if so, likely Duo!Peony) and Nott/Dagr/Duo!Dagr, or the team will otherwise have one or some of them. Especially B!Eirika, since she was/is a free unit.

But even then, when F!Edelgard came out I could still understand the outrage about her. Hey, cool, what if IS just casually gave this colorless beast unit five skills on their weapon? And like three more on her prf? And all she needs to do to activate them is transform - you know, that incredibly easy thing to do? Yeah, no wonder the game's become "F!Edelgard Counter Simulator" ever since she came out, because wow! It almost sounds like a unit built like that on just its premise terribly balanced and fundamentally broke the game! Even ignoring the actual skills given to her (which is really fuckin' hard since one of them is GUARANTEED GALEFORCE), the concept itself is game-breaking.

And because of her inherent viability, as much as, like, everyone not an Edelstan absolutely hates her, F!Edelgard is a no brainer for the Hero Fest winner. It's just a lose-lose where everyone is miserable and F!Edelgard continue to make a splash in IS' wallet so they keep pushing her for more people to have her and hate her but still use her cuz she's busted to fuck.

I do get being tired of Edelgard though, after all this time and all the drama. I mean, knowing me I personally likely won't move on from 3H since I really do love it (and shitting on/mocking it lmao), and I haven't felt like this about a media I've gotten into since Bleach (which I similarly haven't really moved on from - yes, I was one of those bitches that cried at the trailer for the 2022 anime release lmao), but UH, just like with Bleach I can totally get why others would want to get away from it, if for no other reason than the fandom.

ANYWAY, a Claude headcanon I really like is that his two wyverns he has for his unique classes are wyverns he's had since he was young but he's only recently (during the war phase) been able to get them across the border safely, and that's why he makes sure to give those ones pets in his victory animation as a Wyvern Master/Barbarossa. Another (for funsies lol) is that over the course of his time in Fodlan he will write in Almyran in a journal (just anything that comes to mind) so that he never becomes unfamiliar with the language, before tearing out the page he wrote on and burning it once he's done writing so no one can chance upon it and use it against him
