moving image semianr pt 1,2,3 and 4

I chose this seminar because I did the moving image workshop this week. this seminar furthered my understanding of how I should frame and light the scene I'm planning on doing that being an alarm clock and the medium in which I'm going to do this in I'm planning on doing this in 3d stop motion and using a clock I made in the clay. I found the other forms of moving image such as a zoetrope, 2d stop motion through chalk and paper cut outs, flip books and a phenakistoscope .

oh good glad you found it! and thanks to @wafflelovingbatgirl for having better ask reading comprehension and odyssey recall than me! i definitely need to think more about the shadow of achilles over the odyssey. i’ve put in a lot of time with the shadow of agamemnon in the odyssey (and of achilles and odysseus over the aeneid) but achilles is such an incredible pair to odysseus, even if only just through the fault of which epics have survived. 

the iliad spells out this choice so clearly and achilles DOES choose, he leaves the battlefield and chooses a long unremarkable happy life, but then that option is taken away from him when patroclus dies and he’s left with only glory and death and revenge. of course he regrets it. i think even in the iliad we know he regrets it and wishes he had chosen from the start not to go to war. but the problem here, like in so many greek tragedies, is that a choice, once made, cannot be altered.

A dance performance integrates several elements of creativity, many of which are protectable as intellectual property in the form of copyrights, industrial designs, and patents. Representations used by dancers can be protected as trademarks, and their identity under the publicity rights regime. Protecting IP provides dancers, choreographers, dance musicians, artists and lighting experts, the opportunity to license, merchandise and commercialise their work.

In today’s business context, a performance need not be the end for a dancer. It can be the beginning for their financial independence, commercial success and sustained revenues over a long period of time. Intellectual Property protection, licensing and commercialisation can open doors that are normally not available to dancers. From licensing of choreography to merchandising dance work, IP has the potential to make a difference to professional dancers and their financial standing.

Eine Sache die mir sofort an den Briefen gefallen hat, sind die Verabschiedungen. Heutzutage würde man angeschaut werden als ob man vom Pluto kommt, was schade ist, denn "Tschüss", "Schönen Tag noch", etc. sind auf Dauer irgendwie zu langweilig.

Auch wenn es früher vermutlich normal war sich so zu verabschieden, finde ich, hat diese Art der Verabschiedung einen Hauch von Einschleimen an sich. Aber nicht mal im negativen Sinne. Wäre ich an von Schillers Stelle gewesen, hätte ich allein aus Respekt auch diese Wortwahl dafür gewählt.
