September Deck Love Challenge Day 20- Deck that always makes you smile. I chose Justice League Tarot because this is a world I understand and the union of my biggest passion, tarot, with a great joy, comic books, particularly the D.C. Universe (just not movies) makes me smile all the way to my soul. I understand this language. Not only is the Justice League Tarot a beautifully made deck, it was obviously created by someone with a true understanding of both tarot and the D.C. Universe. So often we see theme decks that don't respect either the deep tradition of tarot or the expansive world of the theme but this deck manages to pay homage to both and I love it for that. Challenge 25: Ace of Pentacles ~ Favorite deck of Autumn 🍂 The Halloween Oracle by Stacey Demarco is always my go-to deck once Autumn arrives...I actually break it out a bit before & it is still used throughout the year. However, this lovely deck gets used a lot during Fall. I go straight to the last paragraph in the guidebook for quick clarification if needed. It's a must have deck for anyone who LOVES Halloween! 🎃👻🎃

#septdecklove day 8: the Chariot, the deck you love and hate the most.

I bought the Night Vale Tarot last year, before I began phase two of my tarot study in earnest. (phase one being when I was 14, and reading with much different intentions than I practice with now) This deck, while beautiful, reminded me how separated I had become from Tarot, and from the Night Vale fandom. I could only identify less than half of the scenes depicted on the cards without looking them up.

I'm still not back in the Night Vale fandom. I listen occasionally, skipping the long litany of advertisements and announcements at the beginning. (When I care, I read those on the internet. ) But, I am back in the tarot fandom for good, I suspect, and I really don't know if I will ever connect with this beautiful dark deck.

September Deck Love Challenge Day 4 Emperor- most assertive deck: I chose another deck for most dependable but hands down my most assertive deck is Deviant Moon Tarot. There is no double speak, little for me to hide behind, and in a moon themed deck that is something to be said! No shadows, no playful words I can interpret to my own desires. Just the straight truth, every time, no dressing it up either. This is my every day reading copy and I have removed the borders but it has since been released in a borderless edition too. When I read for others, there is no middle ground with this deck. They either insist I use it or insist I keep it far from them. September Deck Love Challenge Day 6 Hierophant- Most traditional/spiritual deck: I chose Dreams of Gaia as my most spiritual deck, but I really struggled with choosing my most traditional deck. Do I go with Waite Smith or one of its variants? Even further back and the Sola Busca, the first known deck to illustrate the minors? Visconti Sforza, one of the first decks known to combine the Majors and Minors? Another Marseilles style deck? Aleister Crowley and Lady Frieda Harris' Thoth? All worthy, all important, and all vital in my journey. But when my eyes fell upon this beauty this morning, I knew it was "the one". Tarot of the Holy Light has everything, touches upon it all, and goes deep in many cases. The accompanying book is a tarot masterpiece and I consider it essential reading for anyone serious about learning. September Deck Love Challenge Day 4- Empress: Most nurturing/healing deck. I think these could be two different things and I might be back later with a most nurturing deck, but far and away my most healing deck has been Tarot of the Sidhe. It has held no punches with me, has demanded my best, demanded my most honest self reading, but has been there to support me at every step. The beautiful, otherworldly Sidhe have flitted at the periphery of my conscious for all my life, I think, and it was an incredible blessing to have the 22 card Major Arcana limited edition come into my life. September Deck Love Challenge Day 2- Magician: Most magical/powerful deck. For this day I struggled a little bit because I have been blessed to have strong connection with several decks I consider both magical and powerful. I finally decided that the other decks would fit even better into some other categories and chose The Templar Tarot for my most magical and powerful deck. I chose the expanded edition, which boasts 23 extra Major Arcana. The artist created the works in a trance state and had no knowledge or intention of tarot. Angels don't care what we think know and the Divine always finds a way to use each of us for the highest purpose if we can but get out of our own way. Many times while using this deck I have felt the frisson of a Divine Presence, made intuitive leaps that seemed miraculous, and I always put it away knowing that I was not alone while using it. #SeptDeckLove #tarot #tarotchallenge #dailytarot #tarotreadersofinstagram #tarotcommunity #divinationchallenge #angel #KnightsTemplar

September Deck Love Challenge Day 4- Emperor: Most assertive/dependable deck. I do have a most assertive deck I will post soon, but for most dependable deck I chose Legacy of the Divine Tarot by Ciro Marchetti. It had to be this deck because I keep with me at all times. It is a client favorite as well as being a consummately readable deck for me. Day 1- Fool: Most fun/childlike deck. I chose The Inner Child Tarot by Isha Lerner. The bright colors, the familiar stories and the timeless archetypes make reading these cards more like remembering something I used to know as deeply as my own reflection in the mirror.
