Summary: The reader gets a tiny injury during her first fight scene, and RDJ goes full Papa-Bear Mode.

"All Right guys, shooting in 30. Get ready!" You heard the Russo Brothers speak into the megaphone. You were off talking to the stunt coordinator, Meghan when you heard the announcement. You were about to shoot your first-ever fight scene and were terrified. The shakey breath you let out was evidence of it. "You got this girl, it's a very simple scene, no harnesses. just fighting," she spoke as she rubbed your shoulder, helping you relax. "Yeah, but what if-"
"So Pipsqueak! heard you are doing your first stunt scene today!" you heard a voice behind you say. Robert walked over and stood right behind you, placing both of his hands on your shoulders, giving them. gentle squeeze. "Yes, and I am FREAKING OUT!" you shouted as you pushed his hands off you.
"Hey hey calm down kiddo, okay?" he spoke softly as he turned you around for an embrace. With your head on his chest, he mouthed to Meghan that he got it, sending her on her way. "Now," he continued as you stood still, "why are you scared?"
"Look stunts can be scary, and I don't want to get hurt or injured because of something I messed up," you said looking at the brown-haired man in the eyes. "Well, do you know what you need to do for the scene?" he asked with a raised eyebrow. "I mean yeah but-"
Robert made a shushing sound before you could even continue. "And I'm sure Meghan and the rest of the stunt coordination crew have your safety in mind while working out this scene. So you will be fine, you got this, okay pipsqueak?" he spoke to you. You let out the breath you have been holding in. "Okay, I got this. You are right." You spoke confidently before embracing RDJ once more.
"Thanks, Robert, I appreciate you." You felt him give the top of your head and you squeezed him tighter. "And I appreciate you, Y/n. Now you ready to go kick some ass?" he shouted as he raised his hand for a high five. You easily returned it, "Hell yeah, let's go!"
TIME SKIP
"Alright Y/n, let's shoot that scene one more time, okay?" you heard Anthony Russo speak into the megaphone. You gave them a thumbs-up from up on the railing where you were fighting the villain of the movie (I'm too lazy to decide who it is). You looked to the side of the stage and saw Robert watching you and also gave you a thumbs-up. So far all of the takes have been great, and no one has gotten seriously injured. Once this take was done, you were excited to just go to bed.
"Okay, an ACTION!" They shouted and you and your scene partner got to work. You quickly dodged the punch, went in for a kick, and continued your routine. Everything was going great until you heard some rattling above you. you couldn't look up so you tried not to let your anxiety show through. It wasn't until you got to the part where your partner had you up against the wall that you heard the sound of a part coming undone. Before you knew it, two small boards came crashing down on you and your partner. You felt one of the edges scratch your arm before landing on the floor.
"CUT! CUT!" You and your partner let go of each other and quickly checked yourself over for injuries. "You okay Y/n?" they spoke. "Yeah, I'm fine, just a cut on my forearm. What about you?" you asked them, "Nothing I think I'm - " they were saying before you felt Robert crushing you with his arms. "Oh my god Y/n!" He shouted into your ears. He let you go and held out your arms. "Robert Im fine, I promise. You said as you chucked. You felt his eyes scan your body, checking you for injuries.
"MEDIC! WE NEED A MEDIC!" he shouted as he took your injured arm and tried to turn it into the light to get a good view of it. "Robert I said Im fine! It's just a cut, see?" you said as you tried to pull your arm out of his grip, but he wasn't budging. "Look it could be infected, or worse than it looks. So let's just be safe okay?" he asked as he looked at you with pleading eyes.
You chuckled at him before reluctantly agreeing, " Okay papa bear, I'll get it checked out." You could hear him say "I'm not a papa bear," under his breath as you too made your way towards the medics on set. "Yes you are, and it's very adorable. Thanks for looking out for me." He leaned down and kissed your head.
"I gotta look out for my cubs."

What's WILD is that SamStat's so dang good at being this p.o.s. we (via Louis' POV) are supposed to hate--but this isn't even Lestat! It's a literal figment of Louis' traumatized imagination, even moreso than the descriptions Louis gave to Daniel in 1973. It is so much clearer here WHY Louis went off on Lestat in SanFran, cuz he'd been dealing with a fake Lestat for possibly decades by then, driving him nuts, that Louis then raged against in the first interview. I really like that AMC is showing us this--it hits so much better than just getting a couple lines in the book, and next to zero references in the movie.

The agreement part is interesting though, cuz Louis has to ask Armand's permission to see his daughter's diaries, which means Armand's the one keeping them away--the question is WHY? So I've been thinking...
What if Heathers was a scheme? An elaborate plan created by Veronica, the Heathers, Betty and Martha?
Because I remember in the musical, JD smells the drain cleaner yet still gives it to Heather Chandler. Meaning the smell was faint.
Or there wasn't a smell, because it wasn't drain cleaner.
Okay, so hear me out.
The six of them have been friends since they were freshmen. The Heathers are starting to be popular because ✨rich kids✨
H³ + V have been dating since sophomore year.
They realized how shitty the school system is and how bad everything outside of their rooms are. But of course, until they're adults, they can't do shit about the outside world.
Yet school is within their reach.
So, here's how it worked.
As the Heathers became more and more popular, everyone would try to get close to the three to gain popularity, creating the social ladder. To maintain popularity, everyone would bully the "weak", Martha, Betty and Ronnie included. The adults don't care so school became hell.
The six of them plan to stop it.
They decided to pretend to go with the flow to see how far every student would take it.
Which led to Kurt and Ram learning to rape and other terrible things.
They needed to do something, but they would need a clueless puppet to do so. A person with no morals.
A person who does terrible things with no regrets. A person beyond redemption. They are not recruiting this one, they'll be using this one.
Fast forward to senior year.
Veronica has done her research and learned that the son of Big Bud Dean, a man who was accused of physical assault, yet was let go due to lack of evidence.
Jason Dean, a boy who had a bad reputation of violence among his peers. Students from previous schools complained about how he's manipulative yet no one took it that seriously. There was an instance he almost killed a student, but he wasn't sued.
Perfect.
They talked it out and came to the agreement that someone will have to get close to him to learn more.
And that became Veronica.
In order for this to work, Veronica had to be a popular girl. Uphold the image of "I'm popular but I'm more human than all of you" to get his attention. So Veronica became a Heather.
It happens like the movie, during the lunch time poll, she conversed with JD, pretended to look like she was into him. Which led to Kurt and Ram approaching him and the fight happens. JD pulls the blank gun on Kurt and Ram.
Sign 1 that this boy is dangerous.
The croquet scene we see in the musical where Heather Chandler acts like a bitch to Ronnie and Duke is staged because Veronica's parents are within their earshot.
Everything they say that the public hears that make them look shitty are practiced.
One could say their school is a theatre and they're the ones pulling the strings for the acts.
So we get to Freeze Your Brain where Veronica indulges him into a conversation and learns his backstory. Understandable, yet not justifiable. Of course, Heather Chandler walks in and says her lines.
In the car, the two talk about it. Then they decide to test the boy. Veronica has to mess up at the party to see how far JD could go. If JD really is someone who'd kill someone all because he can and not regret it, they'll have to be prepared.
The party happens and it goes as it does during Big Fun. Again, these are all scripted acts of theirs.
Veronica is by no means, a lightweight. But you can smell the alcohol from her. So when she goes into JD's room (The Heathers were fine with this knowing it's a show) and Dead Girl Walking happens, it proved that he is willing to take advantage of someone. Mind you, Veronica MAY have known what she was doing, she was still ever so clearly drunk. The fact that JD did not stop it and let it happen WILLINGLY says a lot.
Sign 2 that he's dangerous.
Now you couldn't say they "fucked" it was more they had little clothing on and Veronica was the one in control so it extremely quick but of course, JD had his d!ck t0uch3d so he considers it a fuck.
Morning came and Veronica telling JD that she needs to apologize to Heather Chandler.
"By the way, you were my first." A lie. The Heathers were obviously.
Heather Chandler asked for the prairie oyster because that was the script they followed.
They hid the REAL drain cleaner and JD didn't know.
So when HC drinks it, she pretends to fall and die. She wore a kimono specifically, one that's a little bigger than her to avoid showing that she's still breathing.
Veronica says her lines and JD convinces her of the fake suicide note.
Sign 3.
The police officers were H³ + V, Betty and Martha's accomplices. My idea is that Veronica has an older sister who is also an anarchist and went with their plan, and is lowkey kinda proud that Veronica is following her footsteps.
The events I'm basing off are mostly the musical to make it longer so there was no HC funeral. She was in the hospital "recovering". The doctor also works for Veronica's older sis.
So Blue/You're Welcome. The HD and HM's moment to enter the curtain.
Again, getting Veronica there (and being stone cold bitches if Blue) was scripted. Kurt and Ram being rapists aren't but they expected it.
So in the movie, JD coerced Duke to taking the scrunchy. In the musical, she did it herself. So this is a mix mix sitch.
JD "convinces" her to take the scrunchy by blackmail (that HD and Martha purposefully left out) and she takes the scrunchy from HC's locker.
Kurt and Ram were the ones who spread the rumors. They knew beforehand. So they tasked HD (and HM if Blue) to make it worse.
Veronica cried on command for this one so JD could see.
Cue Our Love Is God.
She knew, they all knew JD would try to kill Kurt and Ram. They didn't mind that.
Kurt and Ram are rapists and they don't regret what they've done one bit. They brag about raping, so they were fine with them dying.
Veronica acts like she's clueless. JD tries to lovebomb her which she pretends to succumb to.
And here's sign 4.
Cue Dead Gay Son.
Now Seventeen, which once again, staged.
Veronica and Martha's interaction after that? Staged. Veronica said that within JD's earshot. They needed to let him think that he's got Veronica under his control.
Then Shine a Light.
And Lifeboat.
Which was staged, but also wasn't.
HM talking was staged. What she said was real.
HM already had terrible mental health so HD making fun of her might've been scripted, what the other students said is what hurt her. It ran through her head over and over. It's why she ran.
Veronica admitting her crimes was a test they pulled on everyone to see how'd they react once HD said that anyone would say anything to be more popular.
"Just like McNamara." Said HD, as she looked into Veronica's eyes, silently telling her to follow the girl yellow. Because she truly looks hurt.
Veronica got the memo and went after HM.
So Shine A Light Reprise.
Veronica tells HM that maybe they should pause their plan first to help her heal but HM told Veronica it's fine.
After a long conversation Veronica decided to go through with the plan.
After learning what happened HD couldn't stop apologizing even though HM constantly told her that she wasn't hurt by her words but the other students'.
Martha on the other hand overheard Veronica and HM's conversation. So she realized that for this plan to work, someone has to get hurt.
Physically.
Actually, almost DIE.
Because to get the school to realize how they treat others is only when someone gets hurt.
So she calls Betty and tells her the idea. Betty of course tries to talk Martha out of it but she caved in because Martha was insistent.
So Kindergarten Boyfriend is her written suicide note. The note she gave Betty was her plan.
She couldn't reach Veronica so the ones who knew at the time were her, HC and HD.
Cue I Say No. Veronica wants to see how JD would take it and what he would do to get her back, because she knows what happened.
The lines before Yo Girl was said in the way it was to keep the act, but HD's eyes were saying something different.
See, when she handed HM the "petition" it wasn't the petition JD made her make the student body sign. It was the note Martha gave Betty.
THAT'S why Yo Girl happens.
Now JD is in Veronica's room. Veronica is hiding in the closet. What should she do now? How are they-
Then JD mentions the bomb.
That's it. That's how she'll end it. She finally sees the final picture.
So Martha doing what she did would be kind of worth it.
So she pretends to kill herself and we get the first verse and first Chorus (only that) of Dead Girl Walking Reprise.
Because the fight happened the way it did in the movie.
But the bomb is still on, which Veronica forgot about. So she had to take it outside.
But she sees JD get up to try and follow her.
So she still takes the bomb out but with the intention of JD blowing up instead.
I Am Damaged happens but differently. We don't hear Veronica say "Oh my g0d, wait hold on, not this way" we only hear JD.
Veronica takes out a cigarette and behind her, HD, Betty and Martha walk by the door watching them, smirk and walk back to the pep rally to signal HM thats it's almost over.
Then HC enters stage right, leaning against a tree within JD's sight, smirking. JD's eyes widen as he realizes that he wasn't the one in control.
The bomb is at 6 seconds.
"Say hi to God."
Aaaaaaannnnnnddddd Seventeen Reprise.
It happens as it does at West End, wherein HD takes Ronnie's hand.
And there it is.
The final act is over.

I'm in the mood for some tfs ramblings today, so have those two months late oops.
One small but important motif that crops up throughout the m&m scenes in the third arc of the fairest stars is the religious language thing! I'm quite proud of this one actually.
It actually makes a showing for the first time at the end of part 20:
"He's gone," Maglor gasps out. "I'm sorry."
"You're here," Maedhros says, his tone reverent. He drops to his knees beside Maglor, gathering him into his arms.
reverent: there's something here about how Maedhros is so so bad at seeing his brother as a whole entire person... he's Special and Pure and Someone Maedhros Wronged. This is not a worldview that gets healthier over the course of the third arc.
(Incidentally, both the second and third arcs end with Maedhros on his knees, but for very different reasons.)
The motif crops up again in part 22, which contains the first long conversation between Maedhros and Maglor in the third arc, and has a lot of work to do in setting the stage for their relationship.
Instead of answering Maedhros comes to sit at his feet, and then lays his head on his brother’s knee.
After a moment Maglor’s hand settles on his brow, a benediction he does not deserve and yet desperately needs.
There is something of the devotional to this image here, I think. Maedhros, who is much taller than Maglor, is deliberately placing himself physically lower than him by sitting at his feet, almost literally putting his brother on a pedestal. And then a benediction he does not deserve and yet desperately needs... he's not doing well with the whole guilt thing tbh.
The next longish m&m scene is in part 25, and it's a more intense and distressing one: Maedhros is Upset, and not thinking clearly, and seeking out comfort from Maglor and hating himself for doing so. So there's this:
“Thank you,” Maedhros breathes, and it sounds like a prayer and a penance and a plea for absolution.
I spent SO LONG on this line it's slightly insane. Workshopped it with my mother and everything. (When I can't think of a word, instead of looking it up in a thesaurus like a normal person I tend to either phone up my mother or go to find her and say, very seriously, "I need a Word.") So then: "a prayer and a penance and a plea for absolution", three (alliterating!) religious nouns, with which I was doing my best to sum up all Maedhros' tangled feelings regarding his brother, someone he loves and someone he has hurt terribly and someone who has the power to absolve him of his sins. Which is... a bit messed up, to say the least, because Maglor isn't a divinity and Maedhros can't see him objectively at all.
And then, finally, there's Maglor's unhappy awareness of this whole strange situation in part 29:
To his relief Maedhros comes to sit at his feet, looking up at him with wide reverent eyes. Maedhros has never loved anyone without making of them a god – it is all tangled together in his mind, worship with affection, ardour with idolatry.
This is probably my single favourite line from the whole fic. I had it saved up for so long. The phrase "making of them a god" I debated for a while: but I think the of is important there, the idea that Maedhros doesn't actually raise the people he loves to some holy status, he just uses them as raw material for the images of them he's constructed in his mind. It's why, in particular, he's so destabilised by the notion that Fingon could possibly be a bad person. Then there's the "worship with affection, ardour with idolatry" - I like the way this phrase sounds, the matching dental consonants in ardour with idolatry, the way the two religious nouns worship and idolatry are on the outside, bracketing the love nouns affection and ardour (this is a technique called chiasmus and it's fun); the way the second half of the phrase escalates from the first, using stronger nouns that basically mean the same thing. And then, of course, ardour is a very Maedhros-associated noun to me: Maidros tall/the eldest, whose ardour yet more eager burnt/than his father’s flame, than Fëanor’s wrath, a description of him from the Lays of Beleriand.
Note also the echo of part 22, Maedhros sitting at Maglor's feet again, and the "reverent eyes". Maedhros kneels to Fingon at the end of part 28, and then sits at Maglor's feet in part 29; in part 30, of course, he leaves them both behind, and goes to his knees before Sauron, an actual "god", instead. And a part of me imagines that this making-people-into-gods thing he does is rather influenced by the years he spent in Sauron's care.

So, I was clued in by several references to Micheal Myers that the movie my brother was making me watch was a Halloween movie and, having never watched a single one, I went to the Wikipedia to catch up. I figured out through getting through all of the Wikipedia synopses that the film I was watching was the final one! Amazing.
Spoilers. Also, trigger warning: I hate slasher films. Not for moral reasons, so slasher nuts can put down their pitchforks. I just. Blech. But this film had a silver lining.
EDIT: I misspelt Allyson's name bc it was misspelt in the subtitles.
For a moment, at the beginning of the film, I thought maybe they were referencing Mikey as a horror movie icon, but that was not the case. I had been tricked-- HOODWINKED -- into watching a film from the Halloween series. But I couldn't walk away now!! I already sat down!!
I didn't care about the kid. Honestly the sheer amount of blood and also the weird way he fell took me out of the scene. I was half like "was this staged by the kid, too?"
Corey was already giving me vibes of an anxious teen who messed up in the past, and like this was the only chance he has to show he's a good guy, and like that was the reason he was panicking so hard in the attic? Anyway, whomp whomp. This is why you don't bully someone with anxiety in a horror film, kid.
Time skip, he gets bullied by some high schoolers and JAMIE LEE CURTIS appears to the rescue! The band kids are mean to her, so maybe they deserve-- just kidding lol. I'll call her Laurie from here on, she offers boyo a knife to fuck up the car. Wahoo.
His hand is messed up and Laurie's granddaughter is a nurse, what can go wrong? Introducing a young woman to a male main character in a horror film has neeeeeever led to predictable and blegh-y deaths ahahahah. But I was wrong in thinking she would be killed for making premarital eye contact, so that's neat.
And then someone makes premarital eye contact with Laurie and I'm like noooo oh he's gonna die too? seriously?? I don't even know this guy. But the writers did not hate me today.
Let's skip, so Corey gets thrown off a bridge because he called out someone's daddy issues and is pulled into some weird... sewer cave? I don't know what it is. I don't think Mikey did it, but I'll get to that. Corey wakes up and gets strangled by Mikey, but then he starts getting flashbacks to the worst day of his life, which I guess is symbolic of his mental break.
ONE LITTLE TANGENT. I hate how horror films villainize the mentally ill. And how apparently being mentally ill gives you superpowers. Maybe I should get evaluated just to see if I can raise a barn on my own. I know someone may scold me like "it's not black and white, there's no ableist messaging inherent to this genre, there is no war in Ba Sing Se", but you are wrong, bye.
Corey gets away but the homeless man I predicted would die jumps him and oh look. He's ~crazy~ too. But I guess he did not receive an official diagnosis because he does not come back to life after being killed. Also, I think maybe this guy is the one who dragged Corey into that place because of his obsession with Mikey, but that's minor.
Corey tells Allison he's a murderer. I was... pleasantly shocked they didn't start making out immediately. But she still stayed with him. And I wasn't fully paying attention because of my reading, but I seriously thought she knew he was doing even more murders, but apparently she... didn't? Even though they were people who inconvenienced her?
Corey meets Allison's ex and then lures him into Mikey's lair. Mikey gets knocked down and Corey yells at him to show him how to kill people. Mikey's like "okay shit" and stabs the guy a few more times than necessary just to make sure Corey understood. I was kinda cheering about boys night because that is exactly what this was.
The boys kill a doctor who was mean to Allison and the woman he's sleeping with, and I was like SERIOUSLY?? MOVIE??? I caught up in the Wikipedia and saw that apparently, the woman got a promotion because she was sleeping with him... but that's still killing a woman for having sex. Oh well. Also, the eye contact between the woman and Corey was weird, I thought, am I missing something here?? Eh.
Laurie confronts Corey, and she's so badass, and I love her so much. Tells him to back the fuck up. He refuses and tells her to go apeshit. OHHH DUDE. You do NOT WANT THAT. She literally vanished, and I was like "TOLD YOU SO BOY". I knew she wasn't gonna kill him right then, but I kept making *teleports behind you* jokes.
Since Corey is a wuss, he calls Allison up because he knows Laurie is gonna get his ass. Allison argues with Laurie that Corey isn't evil, and at this point, I genuinely thought she was gaslighting Laurie because HOW DOES SHE NOT KNOW??? But she truly didn't know that her boyfriend was JD.
Corey shows up at Mikey's hidey hole and they have a silly little tussle. It's so fucking funny. The boys are having a little wrestle! It's so silly. Corey steals Mikey's mask so he can be Mikey (his own mask wasn't cool enough) and kill a bunch of people. His stepdad is collateral damage, and I groaned so hard at his death. Corey does the "if I can't have her, no one will" again and does a self-stabby to frame Laurie bc he knows he has his official diagnosis and he'll come back to life. In the meantime? Mikey has come to take his mask back. He permanently kills Corey by revoking his blessing (that's what I got from it at least) because no one kills his sister but him!!!
Laurie is fucking GREAT SHE FUCKING YES MAN. The foreshadowing of the exploding microwave and like boom man. I was cheering GET HIM LAURIE GET HIM. He tries to get rid of her hand, she says "no sir I like that hand". She gets his mask off, and he's like "nooo you know how insecure I feel without the mask >:((((". So many knives. I mean so many knives get put into this man. He can fit so many. One is in his hand and he RIPS HIS HAND IN HALF to choke her after she slit his throat. I don't know how effective choking would be with a hand that fucked up but oh well.
"Do it pussy," she says as she's getting flashbacks to every previous movie, and I'm so happy I watched none of them and just this one. It's all I need. Allison comes in and slits his wrist. I was groaning. "Come on, you think that will work? What next? Is the blood gonna start seeping back into his cuts?" But apparently bloodletting keeps him down for a while.
Cops show up, "Micheal" "He's dead" "Not dead enough", THANK YOU ALLISON I LOVE YOU SO MUCH.
There's this big procession of cars, everyone's there. We cut to several faces that would be familiar if I watched anything else in this series. I was like "oh my god it's just like End Game. Everyone's here and I don't care"
BUT GUESS WHAT? THEY THREW MIKEY IN THE SHREDDER!!! No fake outs, no Mikey getting up and murdering an entire town, HE WAS SHREDDED!! YESSSSSSSSSS! BEST MOVIE!!
I was a little bit in doubt. It's a slasher film, after all.
Allison tells Laurie that she believes her that Corey was bad now bc she just watched Heathers and took some notes.
There was a knock on the door or a ring of the doorbell, I don't remember, and I'm like "better not fucking be Corey, he got his privileges revoked".
It wasn't, it was Laurie's boyfriend. Oh yay. That man didn't die.
Okay. My attitude towards death in slasher films? I just like when unimportant characters aren't killed for the sake of it. It pleases me because it subverts my expectations. With films like these, you can only really trust that a character will survive if they are a murderer, which bores me. I like innocent randos living against the odds.
They cut to every room in the house, and I know that it was to show "look at all these rooms that were destroyed, now they are back to normal" but... Laurie... please move. Also I was expecting Mikey in any one of those rooms, but there was only his mask kept as a trophy, I assume. WHAT THE FUCK SHRED THAT, TOO. The continued existence of the mask is sequel bait, I know it's literally called "The End" but I have trust issues.
So? Pros? Okay, loved Corey and Mikey's relationship, it was funny. Just a couple of rowdy boys tussling in the sewer cave. Laurie is my bias. THEY SHREDDED MIKEY!!!!! YESSSSS!!!! Cons? I CAN IGNORE THEM BC THEY SHREDDED MIKEY!!!!

oh you bet I'm gonna break this down cause there's SO MUCH I could talk about
act 1 favorite scene: I literally can't choose between popular and defying gravity so I will talk about both!!
popular. I used to think the whole scene was dramatic and too goofy for its own good. As silly as it is, when you have the right people in the roles, it can be a deeply moving scene as well. Of course there's moments of seriousness built into the scene ("my father hates me") but even the silly bits can carry weight when done right. the "miss elphaba, you're beautiful" ALWAYS hits, especially because of the music-- it's the "I'm Not that Girl" motif and if that doesn't describe peak yearning I don't know what does. I could go on more about different takes on the Popular scene but I think I'll just direct you to @dailypopular it's not active anymore but honestly it's your spot for all things Popular
defying gravity: literally I don't even have to do much explaining on this one. it's such a phenomenal showstopper of a song. I would literally give an arm and a leg to be able to see it live. besides the amazing song, the staging is incredible as well. particularly the part where the ensemble is all shielding themselves in fear whilst Glinda is reaching out to Elphaba. I also have a firm belief about the line "kiss me goodbye, I'm defying gravity" being directed towards Glinda but that's a post for a different day
Act 1 underrated scene: One Short Day
One Short Day does NOT get enough love cause it's always overshadowed by the hype of Defying Gravity but it really is one of my favorite scenes. this is really the only time in the musical, besides the Ozdust, that we get to see Elphaba and Glinda genuinely happy at the same time and that just makes me feel things. I wish they could be happy more. Also I love Glinda's dress in this scene the yellow just pops I love it
Act 2 opinions under the cut cause this is getting long haha
Act 2 favorite scene: For Good/Finale
I cannot possibly talk enough about how many Feelings the end of the show gives me. Even casting the shipping lens of everything aside, the sheer force of For Good as an expression of forgiveness and undying friendship and unwavering trust is enough to make me emotional. And then as if I wasn't already emotional enough, Elphaba's faked death and having to keep it a secret from Glinda AND THEN a reprise of For Good, calling out to each other, knowing they'll never see each other again???? oof. That's emotional enough, but then put it through the gelphie lens and I'm an utter crying mess.
Act 2 underrated scene: Thank Goodness/Engagement Ball
Right after the intermission. You're still reeling from Defying Gravity, so Thank Goodness doesn't quite match up in terms of thrilling staging and high energy. but even though the song lacks flash (until the operatic high note at the end, at least), it does an excellent job in terms of storytelling. We get so much more insight into Glinda's character, her wants, her true motivations. Same goes for later in the act when Elphaba shows up again. She's so relieved to see Elphaba alive (katie rose clarke plays this scene wonderfully) but even despite her own emotions she can't bring herself to leave. But then she winds up losing Elphaba again AND Fiyero as well. It sets up the tragedy of her character in such a heartbreakingly marvelous way. Long story short, Glinda's character arc makes me feel things. lots of things.

What made you ship it?
I admit that I wasn't especially rooting/shipping them while I read the book the first time, even if I didn't hate it! I was re-reading it after watching the 1996 series (that and the 1996 TV movie are the only adaptations I've watched entirely) and the ship seemed more natural years later. It's been a while, so I'm sorry for not being able to go into too much detail. Still, something I really love about how these two are portrayed is how the two can be honest and call each other out when needed (thinking about the "Badly done, Emma!" scene) without having the other overreacting or turning into a huge, unnecessary drama, on the contrary, they stop and think about their own behaviour. It's so important, especially in Emma, the heroine gets a pass for a good half of the story, nobody except Knightley argues with her, so for all this time she doesn't take him as seriously as she should, and is even smug when she sees that Harriet followed her advice whereas Robert didn't listen to Knightley's (which wasn't even the point of Knightley's frustration btw).
I guess that I like the dynamic where an overconfident character gets paired up with another who doesn't hesitate to call them on their bullshit, and who is their equal? xD Plus, I recall that Knightley's confession was very poignant... I need to re-read it!!
What are your favourite things about the ship?
Since Emma is not my favourite Jane Austen story, and I only learnt to really appreciate it later and I require re-read it, I can't say for sure. I'd say that I really like how the two have known each other forever - literally, Knightley held Emma in his arms when she was a baby! Talk about a "slow burn"! It's interesting to imagine how the two went through so many stages of life together, saw each other grow and mature, how the way they looked at one another shifted, and how their feelings changed and they could hardly help it. There's something quite natural in this that I like.
Is there an unpopular opinion you have on your ship?
The age gap isn't that bad, especially in context! Or more unpopular I guess: the story didn't need to be "modernised" for today's audience (looking at the 2020 adaptation). For fuck's sake, can't people just accept that things were different back then?! And still be able to say "I'm letting it slide because of context, it's fictional and it works here (❤️) but I wouldn't accept it in real life.". I don't like that they made Knightley younger, and changed the dynamic with Emma that much (from what I've seen), it was unnecessary and just to cater to some holier-than-thous. They could have kept an older Knightley and added some scenes to show his softer, more vulnerable side.

After finishing the first Ace Attorney (the version with "Rise from the Ashes" of course) I went and browsed the internet to find some art and fanfics, and then I discovered the Kink Meme. It's there that I've stumbled upon the pairing. There was also some pretty fanart of them, younger, investigating together. I started to really like the idea of them being both old colleagues (and lovers, having a torrid affair in Gant's office 🤣).
What are your favourite things about the ship?
The potential for two dynamics:
A) an "evil" power couple, with the two just being unapologetic, ambitious, ruthless men. And these two keep bickering like an old couple, and it's a mess of arguments and make-up sex, the two manically laughing as they tempered evidence, etc. (okay, I know I'm going overbroad here, I'm kidding! xD )
B) "We're both disillusioned by a corrupted system, at first we really wanted to make it honestly, then we started getting our hands dirty and now we can't go back or stop. We're colleagues, partners in crime, weird friends... sometimes lovers. We're both messed up, but we don't care anymore, as long as we achieve our goals and have each other."
Is there an unpopular opinion you have on your ship?
Since I mostly low-key ship them and haven't found that many stories about them, I don't think I have one? Otherwise, it's more an unpopular opinion about each one of them, not the pairing?
I'd say that I don't believe either of them ever sexually harassed or "seduced" Miles......................... 😒

I have so many genetic traits I think antons key would give them
like how they grow like preteens and therefore always has the proportions of a juvenile
heads and hands and feet always bigger then they should be
I took this as they have permanent neoteny so whenever I imagine anyone saying bean is a big man my brain is just imaging this 2m tall dude with big ol child eyes
I'm sorry it just makes sense
the idea that they can never really grow up
they're stuck looking kidlike forever
it makes sense genetically too because they litterally stuck in the growth spurt stage and can't even their body out
also I feel like it would be really uncomfortable

orson scott card does such a good job on writing his world building like it's a history book
and knowing that his work usually references history books and other pieces of literary media it makes sense
but I really wish I could get real politics
real warfare
get me into the small minute details of policies
what goes through people's head when making a decisions above "what would the others react to this" and more "what exactly is the thing I am doing and what consequences will occur"
I feel like alai and bean and petra and even to a certain extent peter are all asking the wrong questions in the context
and it makes sense to make it simple for the audience
but I feel like it went too simple
I need alai to sit down and panic about what his actions caused and will cause
I need them to explain what a caliphate even is
I dont even think orson scott wrote alai as a caliph
it's a very western interpretation
the caliph isn't just a religious leader but also a central person in the politics
nothing can be organized without it getting to caliph and the caliph cannot make a decision alone
also caliph is the successor to the prophet Muhammad and I think everyone forgot about that
and also how unpopular and unstable the ideal of a caliphate system was
that's the same in modern situations but I feel like orson scott card interpreted the idea of a caliph as a king or Ruler of some sort when it was slightly different then that
but I dont know much either so who cares
religion and politics molding together is such a fun system tho
glad I put it in my humanities series
also I feel like what bean has isn't actually giantisim
it isn't described like giantisim, especially not in its nuances
but I would have to read more into it to know for sure

The Summer I Turned Pretty 1x04 Review -- This was probably the most boring episode and it shouldn't have been considering what happens
"The fourth of July in Cousins is all about traditions." I think that's a pretty widespread phenomenon, Belly.
Like both Susannah and Laurel talk to their kids about their dads with little regard to how they feel about the situation.
"Is this what it would be like if we were older? Me and Conrad together?" You're literally making up a bed, Belly.
And if the point is that you're just SO happy to be in a space together where it's just the two of you -- even though you've been a space just with him before -- that's when you do things like an accidental brush of the arms gets you excited or casual touches on the shoulders/back make you hold your breath. Like it still needs to be charged moments just casually done.
Which is why something like this doesn't really work for me

because she reacts like they're just bros and there isn't the best friend breakdown of what happened afterwards with Taylor where she's like "So, he messed with my hair but in a friend way not in a something-more-way?" "OK walk me through it, how did it happen, where were you standing" (unless I missed it which is very possible)
whereas something like this -- they don't end up together because she and Shin belong together, but she's cheesing SO HARD

So is the way they pal around different from the way she pals around with Jeremiah and vice versa? What makes her interactions with either brother unique from each other.

Also Taylor being drunk and spilling about Taylor and Steven doesn't work because it's way too forced by the script.
What would make more sense is if she and Taylor didn't talk when she left and Belly gets drunk and she feels left out of the conversation when they're comparing Ibiza to whatever else and she leaves to call Taylor because she doesn't feel comfortable with them and then they're having a heart to heart and she's like "I'm not mad that you made out with Steven" and then Shayla, who would go after her to see if she's OK since she's a) dating Steven so she would want to check on his sister b) she's actually pretty nice overheard.
Like if the point is that she's projecting her "stuff" with Conrad and Nicole onto Taylor Shayla and Steven, I also don't buy that because she's supposed to be really drunk so she would just blabber about her and Conrad.
Even though Conrad isn't playing her hot and cold. He's just been cold.

Oh the cake scene. I can't even take this seriously because this whole drunk plot line is so bad.
None of these mothers act like they actually have kids. Susannah is being entirely irrational.

"I swear, I've just never felt this way about anyone else." What do you two do?
Belly doesn't even do hungover well.
"I think I'll always be a little bit in love with Laurel." "But, um, she stopped being in love with you?" Are you two a family? You don't speak like you know each other!
"I don't want to be with anyone else. Do you?" "No." *kisses* way too easy but whatever.
So Belly gets drunk and breaks Susannah's mother's cake stand and she experiences no consequences? Then what was the point?
Like she wants to go back in time to stop when she barged in on Conrad is an outdoor shower but not to when she ruined Susannah's cake?
"I don't know if I feel fireworks with Cam." You don't feel that with Conrad either because he's never around, Belly.

One of them should remember Nicole and leave. THIS is when we need Belly to be her usual over-react-y self because it wouldn't be an overreaction. We should be getting this

1.) What's your favourite thing you've written for the story and how did it come about?
Spiral and Diving both had different highlights/challenges for me.
Spiral is very canon heavy, so it was less about writing something completely original, and more about manipulating what was there. The premise for bringing my OC into this world was mostly mine (heavily inspired by Impure's New Game + theory), but all the main events themselves were from various versions of the Stand. The best part of this was cherry picking the events I liked and mashing them together like a FrankenStand mess. Best example of this would be in Vegas. '20 series Glen was put on trial, and confronted Lloyd there, which hey, he was absolutely phenomenal in that scene. I can't complain and I wouldn't want to lose that. But I would have also loved to see this version of Glen face off against Flagg directly as well, much like how book Glen got to. So it was a game of, how do I get both (and keep this man alive through them). How would one effect the other since they were never meant to co-exist. And I liked weaving all that together.

Diving was more of an original plot after canon events wrapped up, so I could take more pride in creating events there. My favorite moments in Diving ended up being the times at the end of each section when everybody's storylines came together. With three main OCs, there were three separate arcs, but for the section ends they usually wove together into each other well. At least I hope they did. So it was fun having Hayden's part, Steph's part, and Max's part all start to bleed into each other and watching one group's actions directly affect another's. A good example of this was in the section two climax. I had the song 'Monster' in my head (thanks PeaceMaker), and I liked the idea of playing with who was the true monster. So you have Gwen and Rayna with conflicting claims in Steph's story. You have Harold, who had been a villain prior, fighting who he had been in Max's story, and you have Hayden and Flagg (one of the biggest 'monsters' of their world) battling can-toi/taheen in her line. They all end up playing a part in each others story while still keeping their own structure and play on this idea.

2.) Were there any characters from other works of fiction that inspired Hayden? (Bonus catch: Which OC in the story are you most similar to?)
To start, when we're talking about Hayden, we have to acknowledge she was Hadley prior to the start of Spiral. 'Hayden' found herself on the side of the road after the Trips virus hit. She doesn't remember her past, or anything she could do. She was starting out fresh, and could only go off of her core personality. In this respect, she's pulling a lot of me. I mean, let's face it, I wrote this because I love Glen. If I'm going to add a character for him, I'm going to make it very me. Self indulgence ftw. So reactions/feelings/general snark. Me. And reactions and feels are all she really has. Hadley, however, is much more Doctor Who-esque mixed up with later stage Willow Rosenberg. Way smarter than me, ability to do magic, quick thinking. Try to save everybody, as best you can, and always help. Underlying personality traits, yeah I'm still pulling on what my reactions/feelings would be, but overall, you're looking at an odd blend of Willow Doctor.

3.) If you could have a conversation with Hayden, what would you ask?
What would I ask Hayden...? 🤔 Was the bloody revenge rampage fun? It looked fun. 😂 But seriously, I guess I would want to know as much about magic as I could. There's some natural abilities in her world, but a good deal of magic is learned. I would love to know whatever she could share. It would also be fun to get the first hand account of what my favorite characters are actually like too, but that seems kind of cheap. (Hey thanks for taking this interview. So what can you tell me about everybody else.)

4.) Which other OC in the series are you most proud of?
Hayden, Steph, and Max are my three main girls. I have other supporting cast, but those three drive a lot of the action (although Gwen comes in late to take a larger role). Hayden has a 101k story to herself, so she clearly has a top spot. But I guess Max really came out of nowhere and took control. I ended up writing things for her that I truly never planned for with no better reason than, she wanted to. It makes sense with a base character model of Faith from Buffy. Take, want, have. And that's pretty much what she did, with little regard to anything else and no shits given. It was chaos, but it was fun chaos.

I love this guy,This guy is bonkers.Played by a young Willem Dafoe ,this guy just does whatever he wants like rush on stage with his biker gang to kidnap a singer,Ellen Aim cause he thinks she is hot and challanges the main character Tom Cody to a SLEDGE HAMMER DUEL .So why isnt he higher? Well the ove the topness cause more from the script then performance and this is already a very over the top movie .I'm not saying Dafoe isnt hamming it up,It is Willem Dafoe after all ,ya got odd faces and he is doing this sort of southernish accent ,but I would say he is kind of channeling the classic black hat villains youd see in old westerns and I have also seen Dafoe go bigger .The fact this guy is only 10 shows you how over the top the other villains are

An immortal warrior who seeks to slay other immortals to achieve a great prize ,on paper this guy is so flat ,just an elementally evil dude .....Thank GOD for Clancy Brown .I mean Brown is a very intimidating guy ,very tall with a deep voice that Brown adds a rasp to ,but Brown plays the role like a guy whio just loves fuckin with people ,like its not enough he kills people but he loves messing with them too .He drives insanely while mocking the love interest,barks at an old lady,licks a priest,etc.Like anything to get a reaction .Combined with his costuming ,and very bad hairstyle choices(YEs I am including when he shaves his head ) ,this is a villain with punk rock energy

So Stubbs ,a cruel scavenger and slaver who kidnaps the adopted alien kid of the main character is only in the third act of the movie.Now if you havent seen the movie you might be asking ,"Emprex ,if he isnt in the movie a lot why is he so high"...Thats because he makes his minimal screen time count . A lot of it comes down to Brion James who just DEVOURS the scenery,shouting almost every line .I dunno ever since I saw this movie ,this asshole has really stuck with me

There's something that's been on my mind about the fandom scene, that's kinda bugged me for about as long as I started taking tumblr more seriously for posting art and taking part in fanzines, bangs, gift exchanges etc. quite a few years ago now. Sometimes in fandoms that are older than Gen Z, (which in the majority of these fanbases, people would at least be in their late 20's, usually the majority are in their 30's and 40's) there's a lot of resentment to younger fans, particularly the Gen Z's. Now I'm not saying, with Gen Z, there aren't problems specific to our generation when it comes to fandoms; however from what I've observed, (this might be in the older fandoms that I'm specifically in) a lot of the issues come from the original fanbase themselves and Gen Z's are just the scapegoats to blame, instead of actually fixing the fanbase those issues, which I find come from rigidity to keeping the fandom the same way it was 20, 30, 40 years ago.
Sometimes older fandoms do feel gatekept by older members, which is a shame, because more fans, means more exposure, more content, more creativity, more joy. I've definitely felt talked down to and know others have, just for giving an opinion or suggesting something, like a headcanon, often with good natured intentions to bounce around ideas and as prompts, just because it doesn't fit what the fandom olds have decided to be canon (which isn't always canon/word of God or act like they personally are the director/writer/mangaka etc's mouth pieces delivering upon us, the holy gospel). If you're older than me, I don't need you to take me under your wing to teach me what's right and wrong for a fictional piece of work, just because one generation decided it's one way and another likes another way better. You aren't my parents, so please don't talk to me in a strict tone like you're correcting my bad behaviour; it's personally insulting and infantalising. In fact, I believe this phenomena is so common, the term 'fandom mom' was coined because this happens a lot.
I've heard a lot of older people in some fandoms blame Gen Z for ruining things, but a lot of the things that I've heard them being accused of, I see the older members fight with each other on, such as rules established by the older generations themselves like "If you don't like X ship, character, franchise, tropes etc, move on to what you do like and don't stay around to hate on X thing". It just comes off as hypocritical to me if you're going to instruct young people on established fandom ettiqute, but break them yourself and make excuses for other fandom olds when they do something wrong, but would crucify a younger person for doing the same thing.
Another thing I've seen, is envy towards the talent of Gen Z, especially when it comes to their fanart and fanfic output and the technology available to them with digital fanart. I understand wishing that you had that technology when you was younger and more energy and time now to contribute to these fandoms, as you're in a different stage of life to most Gen Z's, but it's not our faults that we're the ones that exist in the time for technology to be really good to create art with. I've seen this cause a divide between older and younger fans, by older ones trying to keep up the younger ones, to an obsessional level and half the time, we're not even seeing it as some competition, we do it for fun.
I keep seeing younger fandoms such as My Hero Academia, Miraculous Ladybug and Steven Universe, as well as rebooted/alternate versions of older fandoms like My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic, She-Ra and the Princesses of Power and Voltron: Legendary Defender, be used to justify treating Gen Z fans a certain way and projecting this image that every Gen Z is this frothing, cringy mess of a person who will rip others to shreds. While some people are like this, I think it's unfair to say the majority are, especially when comparing it to older fandoms or the original version's older fanbase, since the young people in those fandoms will eventually grow up and mature over time. You can't judge people who are mostly in their teenage years, as if they'll all be like that forever, especially not when I've seen some people pushing 40, say and do a lot worse over fandom.
The fandoms especially where the original source material is old, but still around and continuously aimed at children, just to name a few that I personally still enjoy, such as My Little Pony, Transformers, Pokémon, Sailor Moon, Kingdom Hearts etc. I don't understand when the older generations of fans get so possessive of keeping it gatekept from Gen Z, to the point they forget first and foremost, that it isn't even aimed at older people anymore, but children. If a lot of these kind of franchises were going to age up in accordance with the original fanbase, then they would have in the majority of their future installments; I could then understand this hold to gatekeep a little bit more. But a lot of them haven't and the companies making and selling them, still want to primarily focus on being marketed towards kids, but just of a new generation. No one's stopping older fans from liking older franchises aimed at kids, which they grew up with, but please let kids have things that are aimed at them and more than likely always will be, without this struggle to keep it just as it was when you were younger. You can dislike the direction something is going in, criticise it and prefer an older version, but you can't expect it to cater to you as an adult.
At a certain point, you have to accept that things change over time, including fandom. Demographics will naturally change, as more younger people come in and will eventually become the majority and fandom olds get older, eventually becoming the minority. With this change, generally, Gen Z are not trying to pry fandom out of your hands; we're just trying to co-exist and like the same things older fans do. Generally, we're not trying to antagonise older fans, by having a different opinion or different way of doing things. The Simpsons puts it best, "I used to be with it, but then they changed what it was. Now what I'm with, isn't it and what's it seems weird and scary to me. It'll happen to you". It's ok to feel out of your depth with younger people, who seem better at something than you with more charisma, energy, time, followed and engagement with their socials, but please don't project that on us as if we're undeserving or we're doing something wrong. I don't want to feel like any time I draw, it's a competition, I just do it for fun. I don't want me giving an idea, to be shot down, because you don't want to think of something in a different way. I just want to share inter-generationally the things I like and interact with like-minded individuals, but only if they're not going to do these things that I've grown weary of seeing and personally experienced.

god i think i'm gonna write (my version of) the new strange tonight after i finish my uni work - there are simply too many brainworms going on at once. this is untenable.
i'm gonna let them out a little here i think.
fair warning, after writing out what i wanted to, it includes spoilers for the whole outline i've got so far. and they're extensive. but if you, like me, believe in the enjoyment of the story regardless of if you know the outcome or not, feel free to go read
so imo ordis is a bit prone to hero-worship, right? he hears about simaris being this great, knowledge-driven guy, and he goes full heart eyes immediately.
in my opinion the same happens with the operator - ordis is obviously told "this is the operator. you love them" and he takes this assignment incredibly seriously. the operator is perfect, of course the operator would want a perfect cephalon as well (and the canon operator never does contradict him, do they?) to serve them, and the operator is so very powerful, so very strong.
i'm gonna show my cards here, so perhaps someone reading this might see what i'm trying to do and get as excited about it as i am (get inflicted with my brainworms *throws a handful at you*)
the "outline" i've been talking about is structured in five chapters, what you'll also see in my writing masterpost as i fill it out more - and the chapters are very deliberately/explicitly structured/paced to represent stages in the ordis&operator friendship
Awakening: will be finished up with the new strange - setting up the basic things, the scene, for the rest of the everything. things are as close to canon as they'll ever be, here.
Resurfacing: starts off with the second dream, which will fuck up (edit: tumblr ate everything after this point in this bulletpoint so i'm going to rewrite it) -which will fuck up the way that kelth has been existing so far by splitting up their consciousness from excalibur, to whom they've been melded so far, actually. i've been trying to write kelth/calibur in Awakening as kind of having two minds in one, except Kelth is the main one and excalibur provides some supporting characteristics - kelth is the main brain, the main initiative, behind everything, and excalibur brings the methodicality to get everything done, the calmness in the storm. he's the kid who grew up in a dojo stereotype
Disillusionment: the illusion of the friendship honeymoon period starts to shatter. ordis realizes that the operator is not infallible - far from, actually (i'm thinking kelth has the initiative to get things going, but excalibur previously contributed the focus to see them through. he's still there and helps however he can, obv, but kelth's not in active transference with him all the time) because they're not quite... as brave as they were before they remembered everything, and realized the scope of their sitaution in more detail. the other direction of the "honeymoon period" is also broken - kelth starts discovering ordis' fragments. basically, at the end of this chapter, everyone should be a fucking mess.
Mending: this is the chapter where the initial idea happened - ordis & kelth do the limbo theorem quest (see the name of this whole damn blog lmao.) and there are so many angsty feelingsy notes on this bulletpoint god i am looking forward to this. limbo's personality is already 70% ish worked out and i- god i can't fucking wait. what else what else - ah right, so yesterday i published the bit where operator-excalibur get a "strange pang" in their chest at ordis mentioning machine code? that's because kelth used to program little things on the zariman, mostly for entertainment! (i'm a software engineer and i love coding shit. i will inflict my hobby upon all of you) and so with this newly rediscovered knowledge kelth starts coding things to help them navigate the origin system etc (i have a stupidly elaborate warframe progress spread sheet. instead of writing a program to manage it like i've wanted to for months i'm writing about writing a program to manage it. help) and it speeds up collecting ordis' fragments a shit ton, and by the end of this chapter they should be all complete again - with, uh. consequences.
Bond: the final chapter lmao. and also pretty much the second seriously invasive brainworm i had about this whole universe. kelth asks about ordis' code, because See Glitches, and through some iteration (code versions, developing friendships, everything is getting iterated) they eventually discover some old code, that, when re-enabled, allow ordis to do transference with warframes as well. (i did post about this earlier!!!! ordis is at least as traumatized as everyone else on this fuckin ship!!!! he should get to join!!) (also it's old code that was hastily implemented at the start of the Old War by some orokin programmers, to figure out if they could use Cephalons to pilot the hella dangerous warframes, but it was all disabled and the project abandoned when they repurposed the zariman children for this purpose instead) (bonus info: my notes literally say "But then Excalibur emerges, with Ordis inside, who is barely QWOP’ing his way out of the fancy closet" and please just visualize that) and this is where so much fluff is gonna happen i've barely been able to think about it so far. they find rhino's blueprints in some corpus locked. they rebuild him. they put prime shit on most warframes. there's so many feelings.
god okay yeah i've tamed my brainworms. i'm gonna go back to work. i can't wait to get to the last one. it's gonna be so fucking juicy. haugh.
and, just as a note - i'm doing this for fun, i'm not looking for any kind of criticism, including constructive. my writing generally is super self-indulgent on the fluff and angst ends, and i'm very solidly & openly on the ace spectrum so do not expect romance. if reading this made you feel any feelings (that are not criticisms) i will love to hear about them in my ask box. come yell at me - about my shit, about your shit, anything. >:)

so what I gather is that directors stage “Non piu andrai” with Figaro being mean to Cherubino because he’s mad that Cherubino is flirting with Susanna and he wants to teach him a lesson. BUT my problem with that is twofold. 
1) Figaro is smart enough to know better, and at least SHOULD be nice enough to rise above it. 
2) When the Count threatens to tell Figaro about Cherubino hanging out with Susanna, he does it because he thinks Figaro is going to be mad and jealous and take it out on Susanna. BUT Susanna basically says “Go ahead and tell him, I want him to know what happened” because she is 1000% sure that Figaro ISN’T GOING TO CARE that she was hanging out with Cherubino because HE IS SMART ENOUGH TO REALIZE that there’s nothing inappropriate going on between them. Susanna bets her honor on the fact that Figaro trusts her. 
There is nothing in the libretto that indicates Figaro dislikes Cherubino in the slightest. This piece is supposed to be Figaro teasing Cherubino and psyching him up for army life. It ends with him saying “CHERUBINO ON TO VICTORY, ON TO MILITARY GLORY” so what about that indicates he should be a bully right now? And the music is just adorable and mischievous and nothing about it fits the weird, messed-up, and borderline sadistic renditions that I’ve seen.
so anyway after watching probably twenty versions of this piece I think I’m about fed up with it. Of the twenty or so I have watched, exactly three stay true to what the libretto indicates as outlined above.
Now I really need to find something else to obsess over before my head explodes.

Seriously. The original first game made it clear they definitely know each other before that alley meetup, and the stabbing scene probably made a lot of people go 🤨. Really weird to say another man belongs to you. Can't just claim dibs on people smh. And then Kiryu is suddenly close with him in the second game and Majima's bitch ass almost dies for him again. Then in 3... Motherfucking three... they finally have a true bond solidified, and I'm seriously trying to make a post on whatever the hell was happening in 3. There's that much to discuss.
And then some really confusing mess happens from there. Sure, Majima hasn't appeared a whole lot in games, but then it's like they're trying to separate Majima and Kiryu though any means necessary while also still dropping huge hints on how much they mean to each other. Who needs interaction and shared screentime when you can just have Kiryu casually acknowledge that he and Majima shared tied fates "for some reason." Haha RGG what does that mean- And hell, while you're at it, have Majima be under the topic of love when talking to a hostess. Just. Do it. In the same game. Use Majima and Kiryu's close friendship against them, too. Twice. Good job, villains. Have that snakeskin bastard be the happiest he's ever looked and sounded in canon upon seeing his bestie. The audience will love it. Kiryu won't acknowledge him. Fuck it. Make them a big deal to each other even in spinoff games where they have almost practically past life versions of themselves. Zombie apocalypse? You're the only one who can put me down when I go full zombie, Kiryu-chan. But don't you dare put them on screen together for too long.

Red and yellow is truly the greatest color dynamic they can think of huh. Zhao is clearly similar to Majima af, and Ichiban has a few of his own similarities to Kiryu. And then they've got their parallels. And then they've got their own dynamic that makes me want to snap my neck. I can't believe RGG did it again. Are they doing this consciously?
But as for Kiryu and Majima... The Western branch and localization team ship it. And pretty openly.

The Japanese live action movie and stage play threw their own shit into the mix. Hey, uh, wtf is this? And Majima telling Kiryu that the angry look in his eyes is turning him on in the play and threatening Shimano if he tries to kill his Kiryu-chan. Wtfffffff. They both added more Majima (and Kiryu interactions) than was originally there. And they went deep. How did so many people walk away from the games with that as their takeaway about these two. Especially Majima. The translators. The movie director. The play staff. How do you even end up in a situation like this with your two most popular characters?
Yet, I don't know what the game writers even want to do with them. Half the time it feels like they're trying to escape them, but then other times it's like they're running full force into it like with the Majima Everywhere System. Harry fixes the collar of his sheer black shirt before tucking it neatly inside the black trousers he's currently wearing. He normally goes something more extravagant for going out. His closet is filled with colourful ruffles and Hawaiian shirts along with 'more than one colour' suits. However tonight, he needs to lay low for a bit. Especially when he's about to step into one of the most famous strip clubs in New York in an hour to meet up with the manager.
He's very much aware of the reputation he has put on himself out there. Though there's no use of camouflage and hiding, he still doesn't want a cause a scene,

His hand lifts a bottle of Tom Ford from the dresser before spraying it twice on his neck. Stepping away from the full length mirror, he grabs his cross necklace from the bed before putting the accessory around his neck as he walks out of the room.
"Talk to me Reece" his heavy accent echoes the hallway as he walks downstairs, watching his few men pocketing their weapons,
Reece, the brown skinned man with tattoos nods. "He's there. Just got a word from Bianco. He appears isn't expecting you, Boss. However I do believe he knows you're coming soon. The club is far too crowded than usual but Bianco is taking care of that right now." He informs, showing him the message on the phone,
Harry can only scoff, nodding at him as a thank you. "That son of a bitch should've. Owes me more than fucking money." He mutters, inserting the .45 ACP inside his gun holster. "The car's ready?"
Nodding, Reece leads Harry down towards the basement. "As requested. Lamborghini Murcielago in blue hera. Pack with 640 PS and 471 kW, rules around 213 mph if you consider on hit and run. Still, I pack a standard Aeropack wing if you wanna go slow tonight. The windows? Bulletproof. In case anyone tries to kill you." Harry knows he's only joking about the last part. No one dares try to kill him before he does it. It's a pattern that everyone knows by now.
Harry lets out a low whistle, softly shaking his head as the machine beauty appears. Tracing lightly with his ring cladded fingers along the hood of the car. "Not planning to hit and run tonight, Reece. Not even thinking about racing down the street with my weapon outside the window. You don't have anything more. . . Less attractive?" He questions, still staring at the gorgeous car ahead of him,
"You know I don't do less, boss." Reece winks playfully, laughing to himself as he watches Harry roll his eyes. "Besides. Who knows you'll get yourself a bird tonight, eh? Take her out on a stroll before bringing her home to your place. Women love fast cars." He comments, pressing the button on the keys as the door opens,
Humming as a response, Harry walks towards the driver's seat, "I don't date anymore, thought my right hand man knew tha' " He speaks, words laced with seriousness while grabbing the keys from Reece's fingers,
He can only sigh and nod his head. "Understood. Yet, Kendra is like what? Two years ago? Gotta get yourself something better, boss. You deserve it. So do it tonight." He suggests, watching him going inside the car before shutting the door,
Harry smiles a bit, inserting the keys inside the ignition before starting the car. "Noted."
The dark haired man steps away from the car. Giving Harry a salute. "I'll be right behind you. See you there."

Y/N Y/L/N stands in front of the mirror as she applies another layer of red lipstick on her plump lips. Securing the tube back as she puckers her mouth to see if it fits the colour for tonight. She twirls, watching carefully how the gold lingerie clads perfectly around her breasts and down to her curvy hips and thick thighs.
She stops once her plump ass is facing the mirror, admiring how beautiful and big her bum is in the lingerie. It's a compliment really. She loves working out to give her bum a bit bigger. It's not that she hopes she'll gain attention from people, she just loves her body. She worships every piece of it despite what other people think of it. Insecurity was her biggest enemy but not anymore. After reading lots of books and poems about self love she learns that there's nothing she should be ashamed of.
Grabbing a bottle of lotion from her table, she squeezes the bottle into her hand before rubbing her bum with the cold cream, rubbing it neatly to make sure she doesn't miss a spot.

"Joe is asking for you." She hears a voice coming from behind, craning her neck to see her closest co-worker Violet, already in her usual purple wig and attire as she stands beside Angelina. "I love working as a stripper but he really needs to learn to be patient and. . . shut up, i guess?"
Y/N releases a small laugh, moving her long dark wavy hair to rest on her chest. "I know, I know. Jesus, I've told him fifteen minutes prior that I'll take longer than usual." She slips on her gold heels and turns to face Violet, who's biting her lip as she stares at Angelina's body up and down. "Okay, how do i look?"
Violet raises her eyebrow, as if it's something her friend shouldn't be asking. "You kidding? You look like a sex goddess. Gonna get all the men on their knees for you, girl"
Scoffing, she shoots her a wink and a flirtatious smile. "Old men with beer bellies? No thanks. I'd rather make out with Gordon." She replies, seemingly disgusted about the thought of grinding on an old man's lap tonight.
"Is that a bet I hear?" Violet questions, leaning towards her a bit as she waits for her friend’s response. "Please tell me that it is so I can earn extra cash tonight."
Gordon is a perverted bartender that always keeps his eye on Y/N throughout her routine. He's 40 and is always asking Angelina on a 'date' and by date, he means her ass on his lap. Clearly something Y/N isn't too fond of. Him specifically. Violet and Y/N have always made a joke about him, something they could make a playful banter in every chance they get.
Plus, she heard he's married. Isn't he supposed to find another job rather than here? If his wife found out what kind of a sleaze bag she married, she would be crushed,
Rolling her eyes, Y/N shoves her playfully by the arm. "Ha ha, very funny" she answers, resuming to untangle her hair from knots.
Violet laughs, pinching her on the hip as she lets outa small squeal. "Just messing with you, baby. Good luck out there. Put the rest of us to shame tonight. . . Like any other night"
Y/N flips her off, yet knowing it's the truth. She's not trying to sound like a condescending bitch here but none of the girls here are actually capable to do what Y/N does. That's what makes men attracted to her. She knows what she's doing. She knows how to make a man hard.
"By the way, you heard what Joe's talking about earlier?" Violet asks, toeing off her heels as she exhales a relief sigh. "Damn those heels are killing me" She mumbles,
"No... What's about?" She turns her head to face Violet for her to explain, causing her to shrug her shoulders,
"Don't know much about it. . . But i hear Harry Styles is coming here to meet up with him. Something about transaction or shit" She waves it off, whispering it to Y/N, looking around to make sure no one is eavesdropping,
She almost chokes on her saliva after hearing Violet says the name. "Harry Styles?! The. . . mafia boss of New York..?" Her eyes widen at the possibility of the most dangerous man in the city paying a visit to the place she works at,
Nodding, Violet answers, "Yup. That Harry Styles. He's the devil. Let's hope this place doesn't turn into a war zone."
Y/N has heard about this Harry guy. The most feared man of New York. She does know a little bit of the relations between Joe and Mr. Styles. Almost every night she could hear Joe freaking out about this man. She may not know him that close, hell she had never even met him in person but people talk. One thing she learned about hearing his reputation, you don't ever want to mess with this guy.
Violet snaps her fingers to snap Y/N out of her thoughts. "Less worrying, girl. Come on, you got a show to put on yes?"
"Y-yeah. Fuck. . . now i'm scared" She breathes out, looking at her reflection in the mirror one last time. Calming down her mind.
After giving Violet a kiss on a cheek and receiving a tap on her ass, she takes a deep breath as she opens the beaded curtain and walk out to the club. Jhene Aiko is playing through the speakers, thanks to her who chose the music for tonight. She can already feel all eyes on her as she struts down confidently, putting on a smirk and winking at couple of men here and there. As much as it disgusts her, she grazes her hand along a man's arm who's biting his lip and looking at her up and down.
'What the fuck did i do to deserve this?' she thinks to herself, staring at the man in front of her who's probably the same age as her father. The thought of it makes her gag,
She gives the man a wink before getting up on the stage, hearing a few hollers from behind. reaching out to wrap her hand around the silver pole and her leg hooking up to support her body. Slowly twirling with her head thrown back and closes her eyes with money being toss at her direction before letting go and crutching down on her knees, moving close towards the same man earlier. He slips in a couple of hundred dollar bills inside her panties, causing the others to do the same.
This may be not how she pictures her success but damn, by the end of the week, her bank account can go from three to six digits.

It takes Harry close to thirty minutes to get here. He blames it all on the traffic, cursing to himself every time he stops at red lights. He parks his car close to the entry before he exits from the vehicle. He looks over his shoulder to find a familiar black car driving towards her, noting to himself it's Reece's. Seeing him wave his hand to make sure he's coming in later.
He clears his throat, clenching his jaw as he walks into the club. Reece wasn't lying, the club is too packed for tonight. As if God knew what is about to get down tonight and isn't going to let him get away with witnesses. He really needs to play safe for a while tonight.
As he strides through the room to find a table he has reserved for, a few half naked girls walk right pass him, stroking his exposed chest and grabbing his shoulders. Most of them are gorgeous and he's tempted to touch their soft skin yet he has to hold it. Not that he isn't interested because he's definitely taking someone back to his place tonight--fucking Reece had to be right-- but he needs to get his head in the game for at least an hour before planning to do so.
Gently, he pulls back a chair for him to sit. He specifically asks for the furthest table so no one can figure out what he's about to do tonight. A glass of whiskey has been set on his table before he got here, waiting for Joe's arrival. Out of the corner of his eye, he sees Reece and Bianco walking over to his table. One of them gives him a nod to acknowledge his presence.
Harry lifts the glass up to his lips and take a sip of it. Honestly, he hates doing all of this dirty work. Sure, he's the boss. But he despises complicated things. He should've known not to trust Joe about anything, yet when he begged on his knees with a gun knocked against his head as he spat out a bunch of threats to the weakened man, he thought why not? If Joe didn't get to fulfill his demands, he gets to kill him either way. It's always a pleasure for him to do so.
"Mr. Styles! Ay, i'm so happy to see you. You look a lot cleaner than i saw you the last time, eh?" Joe's voice causes Harry's green eyes averts from the scene on the crowd. His eyebrows are knitted, jaw tightened as he taps his fingers against the table, causing the rings he's wearing to knock.
He owes him money worth $50,000. And this man had the nerve to walk in and act like nothing happened.
He is definitely going to kill him.
"Stop with all that shit and sit the fuck down. You owe me something Joe." Harry warns, pointing at him as Harry's men forces the dark haired male to sit down making him gulp. "You owe me 50 grand for that package you piece of shit."
Joe couldn't feel more terrified as he catches a glimpse of Harry's gun on the table, facing towards him. "I know Harry, I know. I didn't forget, okay? It's just the money is tight right now. The girls aren't getting the amount of money they used to be getting." Joe tries to reason but Harry isn't having any of it,
"Stop being a fucking pussy and blame your girls for the money you've lost. I'm running out of patience here, Joe. If you don't give me the money by the end of the week, you're a dead man. I still have one body bag left in my car and I wouldn't mind writing your name on it." Harry grits his teeth, looking at him with a dark look in his eyes. Hand gripping tightly around the glass
"No man, I need more than that. Please, I'll do whatever you ask me to. You will have your money man I promised." Joe begs, looking at Harry with hopeful eyes.
Harry finds it quite disgusting to see someone like him beg for mercy-- for the second time--or anything at all to be honest. He find that gesture is weak and vulnerable which makes him very easy to manipulate over. "I don't give out second chances."
Joe hears a gun clicks behind, he doesn't need to know what's going on. He knows one of the two men behind him is ready to blow his brains out. "Harry man. . . One more. . . Give me one more"
Harry isn't a patient man. He doesn't want people beg. He doesn't want him to beg. But he finds it interesting to see how it goes, playing along this little game of his.
"Fine. you give me your best girl and i'll give you two months." Harry offers, cocking his eyebrow as he leans back to relax himself. "No more than that."
Joe's eyes widen at Harry's demand. It's impossible to collect a 50 grand in two months, especially when he's short on it. He needs more than that. Still, he thinks two months is better than nothing. "Okay. . . Agreed. Just tell me which girl you want or-or i could bring one or two here, man. Take your pick."
Harry can only hum in response, scanning his eyes over the scene. Dozens of girls dancing on stage, few of them even has their bras taken off. It seems to him, none of these girls on the room is his type.
Until his green eyes fall on a certain slightly curvy woman with her leg wrapped around the pole.
Her long dark hair brushing lightly against the floor as she bend her back a bit. He observes the way her body move so dirty yet gracefully around the pole,  the way she bites onto her pink glossed lips and how her brown eyes manage to flirt with the crowd and had them lure into her eyes including himself. He swears this girl just steps out of his daydreams. She looks perfect.
He admires how she circle her hips painfully slow, jealous how he isn't close enough to watch her plump flesh near his strong figure.
"Her. I want her" Harry points at the girl he can't take his eyes off. His voice sounds too possessive but he doesn't care if he does. He's too enhanced with the way she moves on that stage and he loves how she swats those dirty hands who seems desperate to cope a feel with a dirty look on her face.
'Seems like a fighter' he thinks to himself
"Y/N? You want her?" Joe asks after he realises who Harry's pointing at.
"Y/N? That's a gorgeous name. She's not taken is she? Not that i care anyway. She's a dime from what i can see here." He says, not tearing his eyes off of her while he sips on his drink. "You're gonna give me her to me aren't you?" Harry asks, his eyes are threatening enough for Joe so he nods his head as a response.
"Yes. Of course. If that's what you want."
"Fuck yes i do. Bring me to one of your rooms. I want a private from her" He demands before gulping down his drink, standing up to head over to the back. Not before glancing at the gorgeous woman one last time who stuffs a few dollar bills in her panties.

After what it feels like forever dancing on stage and have men whistling at her to go over and give them more, she finally sit herself down on a chair in her dressing room and take a deep breath. Moaning in relief as she pulls her heels off while setting her timer on because she only has thirty minutes to rest before going back out there again. She leans back against the chair, sighing in a pure bliss.
She can hear a few girls talking and laughing while preparing themselves for their performance tonight, wishing she could just join in because Violet informs her earlier there's some juicy gossip she needs to talk about but she cant take it. She's too tired.
She has only closes her eyes for 10 minutes until a familiar voice speaks out,
"Where's Y/N?"
She groans internally. Can never mistake that voice soon as she hears it. Her manager, who sounds like he's panting, voice firm as if is an emergency to call her out like that. Y/N still has her eyes shut as she raises her hand up, not having the energy to respond.
"Okay, good. Y/N. You don't need to go back out there again. There's a special guest I need you to entertain. He's already waiting in the red room."
She nods and hum, only to realize what he means as her eyes bugs out.
Wait, what?
She's quick to turn around, brows furrows and mouth hangs open, not believing what she has just heard. "Pardon?"
"There's a man. A guy who I work with, waiting in one of the rooms. He specifically asked for you. I need you to at least give him an hour." Joe notifies, running his hand over his face as if he's stressed about something,
"You want me to give a lap dance to your co-worker?" She raises her eyebrow, not believing what he just asked her
Joe sighs angrily, "it's technically not--Y/N... please. No more questions, just go over there."
"Who's the guy?" she ignores his orders as she stands, crossing her arms across her chest. "Jesus, fuck. I really need my hair to breath" she mutters, brushing down her long dark brown hair,
"Harry Styles."
Y/N freezes in an instant. Looking up to stare at Joe in the eye to see if he's joking, he can only nod his head to confirm her questioning look. " you're shitting me."
"I'm not," Joe replies, walking over to her, not wanting the other girls to hear. "Y/N, I owe him money. I haven't got them yet and--"
She scoffs, rolling her eyes and continue messing with her hair a bit more. "Not my problem."
He reaches out to grab her elbow, pulling her harshly causing her to stumble a bit. "Y/N, please... He wanted to kill me out there earlier. The guy brought a gun for God's sake. He gave me a month but until then... he wants you."
"You know i'm not a hooker" Y/N defeatedly sighs. She wants to help him, she does but it sounds like he's selling her off for a month to this notorious and dangerous guy who is named to be the deadliest man alive by the people of New York.
She loves money but no fucking way she's willing to die for it.
"I didn't say you were" He roughly says, hand gripping tightly on her arm. "Just... do it" He let her go, tired of the waiting because he doesn't want to make Harry pissed off now,
The girl sighs angrily, squeezing her eyes shut as she hesitates for a while. What the fuck did she get herself into?
"Fine. just give me a moment."
Giving her a smile, Joe thanks her by giving her a kiss on the cheek, telling her the door number Harry is in before walking out of the room. Soon after he walks out, she feels sick in her stomach. How could she ever go face to face with a man with blood in his hands? She's about to give this man a lap dance. Who knew he might've ask for more?
So now, as she finishes re-applying a layer of red lipstick, she heads out. Walking to the back of the room in a slow pace. Heart beating loud and fast as she's about to come face to face with this man. Still, she needs to play it cool. God really fucking hates her,
If he really does exists.
She takes a deep breath before opening the brown door carefully, pushing it open. Her knees almost buckle at the sight of Harry Styles, lounging on the leather couch. A cigarette squeeze between his fingers. legs spread open as if it's an invitation already made for her. His head turns towards the door, a smirk graces upon his face.
She's not going to lie. He is indeed dashingly handsome. With his arms resting on the back of the couch making his biceps look a bit bigger. He's got killer looks too. she studies. Sexy smile, and stubble which creates a sexier look on his face. She catches a glimpse of a silver cross necklace resting against his broad chest. His eyes are sharp. Looking at her up and down with his bottom lip bitten between his teeth.
"My, my" he lowly whistles, watching her every move as she enters the room. Locking the door behind her. "I wasn't wrong. You are a fucking dime."
Y/N giggles-- though feeling scared shitless-- and run her hands over her hair as she struts her way towards his figure. Purposely swaying her ass side to side a bit to tease him. "Mr.Harry Styles. . . I heard a lot about you. Word on the street is that you're a man that likes to carry a danger" she smirks seductively as she stands in between his open legs, dragging her finger slowly down her chest.
Her angelic voice is like music to his ears,
"Yeah?" he smirks, eyes falling to the curve of her breasts. "Hope that doesn't scare you, doll. All i want is a dance from you, that's all. I also heard that you are their favourite girl. After seeing you danced on that stage, I now know why."
Again, she giggles. A small blush creeping on her cheeks, hopefully he doesn't see it. "You're a flirt aren't you, Harry? You do this to every girl?"
He places his hands slowly on her plump ass, he doesn't know if he's allowed to touch but he doesn't give a shit. She seems isn't bothered by it. He wants this girl and he wants her now.
"Only to those who i find interesting, baby. Now, are you going to show me what you got?" He asks, looking up to meet her brown eyes as he squeezes her flesh.
With a devilish smirk, she slowly sets herself down on his lap which causes him to let out a soft groan. She runs her hands down to his tattooed chest and toys with his cross necklace for a bit before whispering in his ear, "sit tight and relax, Mr. Styles. I'll be your good girl for tonight"
