I'm gonna say it: Miraculous Ladybug is one of the most toxic fandoms related to the ships and that's a fact. Don't try to tell me I'm wrong.

I saw a lot of pins in Pinterest of Adrigami, Lukadrien, Kagaminette and more ships with comments like "Wtf is this?", "Disgusting", "The only good ship in MLB is Adrinette", "Marinette only deserves to end with Adrien".

People can ship whatever they want, and if someone ships Lilanette, Chloénette, Alyanette, Ninonette or another ship it's up to them. You don't have to say they're mentally ill for not shipping Adrinette. Just because a ship is canon doesn't mean everyone has to like it. And if you don't like Lilanette, Chloénette, Alyanette or any ship involving Marinette and a classmate of her, just ignore it. Don't watch posts of that ship or read fics just to say you hate it. Because if you do that, don't complain when people decide to do the same with Adrinette.

I think we need to talk about fetishizing celebrities, or more precisely, about borders of it.

It's something I recently spotted among fans of my new favourite actors, that is, Ewan Mitchell and Tom Blyth.

Like, I can get that many people (including myself) find them attractive rn. I get that many people feel h0rny because of them. I can get lots of smut being written about their characters (in case of Ewan it's mostly Aemond Targaryen, and in case of Tom it's predominantly Coriolanus Snow). Heck - I can even get smut fanfics being written about these people as themselves (e.g. Ewan Mitchell x reader or Tom Blyth x reader fics).

But damn, I have recently seen some very unhinged comments and discussions under their photos in which people comment on… Tom’s and Ewan’s actual p*nises.

Like, people, are you okay? Like, do you even understand how disgusting and degrading it is? Or even dehumanizing?

If you don’t understand what I mean, ask yourselves how do you respond to such comments being said about female celebs, especially by a predominantly male audience.

For instance, men commenting on Pamela Anderson’s, Salma Hayek’s, or Florence Pugh’s breasts. Or commenting on someone else’s butt or other body parts. Or even publically describing what they would do to these women.

These celebs may not even read all of the comments about their bodies, or they may not be reading them at all, but what matters here, is the other message.

Such behavior sends a message that it's okay to dehumanize, degrade, overly sexualize, and fetishize the people we find attractive.

And it has to be stopped.

Some suggestions based on seriously awful advice I've seen repeatedly floating around online. I've posted this before but I just saw some of these again and argh.

When interviewing for a job, applying for a job, or doing anything job related, don't lie. If you think your resume is unimpressive or you are unsure about your skills, go to the library. They have resources to specifically aid in job hunting and to help prep you for interviews. It isn't "sticking it to the man." It is fucking yourself over because you are lying on legal documents and contracts and it can get you fired when you are actually a good fit for the job.

When interviewing, always remember that every question is just delving into one big question: "Why should we hire you?" Everything is connected to that big question, so all of your answers to their smaller questions should somehow relate to that. You're selling yourself here. Focus on being positive. Be honest. Do not insult anyone or anything even if they prompt/encourage/leave you an opening for you to do so. Take some time to practice with friends or in front of a mirror so the answers come more naturally.

This works in fiction and in real life: strengths and weaknesses are different sides to the same coin. You don't want to insult yourself in an interview (or in general, really), so when anything about your struggles or weaknesses come up, use that technique. For example, I'm a passionate person (I'm subtle about it, I know). When it comes time to ask about strength/weakness, I can bring that up. If they ask for a strength first, I can control the conversation before they even bring up the "weakness" question. A nice, positive, non-self-degrading or self-deprecating answer.

Also also also, always do your research and be prepared with questions, too. This isn't just them interviewing you: you should be interviewing them. Will this job be a good fit for you? What can you expect going forward? What do they like about it? If you ask them that last question and they give you a generic answer, be wary.

Keep your resume updated. Ask your librarian for help reviewing it. Be honest and positive but never forget that these people aren't your friends. Be professional. Is this a job you need right now so you can't be too picky about it? Is it a job you're sure is going to be short-term? Then make sure to still view it as a resource. Still work hard and cover your bases while you're hunting for something better. If possible, leave on good terms so you can still put it down on your resume and possibly even snag some references. If it's shitty and you get a new job, you don't need to give them notice. It's a courtesy and also helpful if they can possibly act as references. If you can't use them as a reference and they don't deserve any courtesy, well, fuck them. Two weeks' notice is never mandatory, even if some businesses try to insist they are. Nope! It's illegal for them to try and push it.

But seriously: always cover your bases. It doesn't matter how shitty or unethical or whatever they are. Always take care of you. Be careful in what you sow and be prepared to reap it. If you do need to lie, for fuck's sake, be careful, be thorough, and don't post it on social media!

People acting as if Charlie was in the wrong for the way he talked to Ben is mind-blowing to me. There are people out there who genuinely think he should have shown Ben grace and he shouldn't have said he never wanted to see him again. Yes, Ben is young and has a lot of issues he has to deal with, but that doesn't justify what he did to Charlie (and how he treated Imogen while they were dating). Charlie and everyone affected by Ben's behavior have all the right to cut him off of their lives and should not be guilt tripped into believing otherwise.

Hello anon! I hope you're well! I love when people ask about my fics, so thank you for allowing me to talk about them.

Yes, ALTA is done and is in the beta process. I think chapter 1 will be posted sometime in late May, early June which...feels like a long time away? But this fic killed my soul and honestly, I worked for it, so I don't want it to be anything less than perfect. Also, I'm planning on posting 2 chapters a week! Hopefully that makes up for it.

I also have (Un)professional Services with @rmd-writes (I just finished a big chunk of this yesterday!) but I don't think that will be ready to post for a few months (snippets here, here, here and here).

So, I'm a little stuck on what to do next. I mean, I have Cause of Action, but I assume you're referring to Lone Star fic, in which case I am floundering wildly in a sea of my half-finished fics and WIP ideas.

I desperately want to start The Ring-In 2.0 (already has a very unhinged outline), but I know once I get into that, I'll be consumed by it, so I'm thinking of doing one of the following first (would love feedback, by the way):

RWRB - Rowing AU (approx 8k done, probably another 30 to go).

Lone Star - TikTok Sequel/5 + 1 (6k in, likely double that to go).

Lone Star - 10 Things I Hate About You AU (and here) (20k in, 30-40k to go).

Go batshit fucking crazy and start writing something I haven't started like IT!Carlos or the Reddit/Coffee Shop AU or something.

I'm unhinged. What do the people want??

Yeah he still has like the bones coming out of his back but I feel like he’d remove his feathers to take his clothes off or put them on ya know. Why struggle trying to get the feathers in through the hole when you can just remove them, put your weird bones through the holes, and then put your feathers back on.
