Art by Davis Meltzer.

Flying solo, duo & trio via a little, medium & big rocket. The 3 spacecraft & relative rockets of Project Mercury, Gemini & Apollo. The 3 spacecraft were used between 1961-72 during the space race. The Mercury capsule carried food, water & O2 supplies for about a day. Project Gemini was the 1st to use Houston for Mission Control. Astronaut Gus Grissom was involved so heavily in the design that the other Original 7 astronauts nicknamed it the ‘Gusmobile’. It measured 18 feet, 5 inches long & 10 feet wide; not a lot of room for 2 people! The Apollo Program used the 363-foot tall Saturn V rocket with the Command (Control Center)/Service (unpressurized) & Lunar Module perched on top, pointed straight at the moon!

So listen I just took a couple of exams and am now officially around 1/2 way through a fairly serious wine qualification. I have no idea if any you guys want to know anything about wine but answering questions about it is a great way of cementing things in, learningwise, so pleaseeee if you have Ever had questions about wine making, growing, grapes, regions, quality levels, tasting, idk what. Please feel free to drop an ask! Anon is currently off bc i was getting a lot of spam but asks are open. please understand also that i am 1/2 way through and there's a lot we haven't yet covered in detail
#The next section of the course is one huge module that's worth 50% of your final mark but like u cant even worry about that.#anyway i won't start on that til september or october.#wine#the qualification is the wset diploma#Not a sommelier cert it's more general than that and doesn't have a service exam.#However on the postapocalyptic commune i do hope it would qualify me as the group's sommelier#weve all heard of destiel therapists get ready for . destiel sommelier

Saw your tags on my voyager post and im looking at getting a new phone since google bricked my old one. Is your fairphone good? As in, does the battery last a while? And does it lag/go slow? Ive not heard of the company before but a quick google tells me theyre good. Just want an honest user experience to decide
im not a heavy mobile user, but i have heard some people say that the battery life could be better. to counteract that however, you can swap the battery toollessly so i have an "emergency charge" battery. plus when battery health inevitable degrades you can easily swap in a new one. if you wanna compare it to other things, its a 4200mAh battery
never encountered any lag, and i doubt there would be any unless you are running particularly intensive tasks on it (its got like 8gb ram on the regular model and 6gb on the budget one, my old phone had like 2 lol)
i will mention a couple issues ive had though, firstly you arent at the bleeding edge of software updates, but they arent stagnated (in fact i have a software update i should probably go and put on now lol), and secondly theres ghosting on the pixels when youre at low brightness (but thats just a problem with oled panels in general i think), and thirdly it doesnt have a 3.5mm jack, but the bluetooth earbuds and headphones they offer are also repairable, with any batteries easy to replace. still not too fond of the lack of a headphone jack but ill take the option for repairable earbuds over nothing)
another problem that can be a deal breaker for a lot of people is the price. however thats really more "other phones are wayyyyy too cheap" and not "the fairphone is expensive", since they make it fair, the workers get paid far better and that moneys gotta come from somewhere. apparently i have a 50 euro discount code to refer people? so that can be something (will clarify that i get 25 euros of fairphone store credit for anyone who uses that. can still share it if you want) but it can be cheaper to buy it from a third party reseller
the fp5 was released in 2023 so the "its gonna last like 8-10 years" is based off that (have not heard any mention of the fp6 being on the horizon, but even having a phone last 6-8 years is still at least 2-3 times as long as the average phone, i got mine last year for example so ill get like 7-9 years), and its got a pretty good warranty (i think its 2-3 years by default and you can register for an extra 5?)
also i will admit i have some bias saying its good because my previous phone was, to put it lightly, complete shit (micro usb charging. thats the sort of level im talking about) so im wowed by some relatively basic features like an nfc reader and dp alt mode on the usb c port (if you dont know what that is, basically you can connect a dongle/usb hub and get a display output)
if you arent doing computationally intense/otherwise incredibly battery draining tasks all the time youll be fine.
#this is a bit long and rambly but hopefully i got the point across#i will fully admit i am biased towards repairable/upgradeable tech so even if the battery was pretty bad id still be happy with it#i mean i have a framework laptop and if i bought the graphics module for that i could deplete the entire 85Whr battery in like 15 mins#being able to replace any part if it breaks is a massive plus for me#and all i need to do so is a screwdriver#hell if im replacing the sim card/microsd card/battery i dont even need that#theres a notch on the back to help pry off the back cover#its designed for user serviceability (though would recommend taking it to a professional if you dont know what youre doing)#i dont have an ask tag. might think of one but i dont get enough asks to warrant that yet

Guz celebrates the Apollo 11's 54th 412th landing anniversary in her own way.
("Wow isn't it so cool that your space program was landing people on a planet that orbits your homeworld just like a decade after starting? Even when Omen's close it's nowhere near as convenient to reach! It took 33 years for Mellanoid Space Program to send a crew to orbit another planet for the first time... oh, you... don't consider Luna a planet?")

Our apologies for the recent lack of bug content. Unfortunately, we have been struck and killed by hot tiefling women and will be afflicted with frenzied madness(1) for the forseeable future. Bugposting will resume whenever we're done doing this(2) and probably be weirder(3). Also, sorry for the general lack of presence or whatever(4).
(1)https://bloodborne.wiki.fextralife.com/frenzy
(2)There is an equal chance we will start posting about lions instead due to our current Lioden project enabling our existing love for spreadsheets and creative work based on semi-randomized prompts
(3)This happens every time we learn new things about bugs and Lioden also has a beetle battling feature that is letting us do beetle things
(4)We are not sorry for this. We have so much shit to do IRL and most of it is shit that is draining all of the willpower out of our body like a mosquito. We will provide an immediate voucher for a minimum of three dozen bug drawings and/or pieces of writing for anyone willing to hit our work practicum teacher with a baseball bat though.
#we speak#if we do not post as much on certain days it's because we're being forced to take a customer service module#and it is becoming increasingly obvious that literally no one in here is actually capable of customer service

sawyer was sick over the weekend so we got some blood tests done and it turns out she is diabetic, she stayed at the vet a couple of nights, it was really strange to be alone in my room those nights. i spend more time with her than anybody. then we were supposed to pick her up thursday morning and they said to come in the evening instead because her glucose was v low. the vet asked me to find a glucose sensor to bring with me that evening, it was a public holiday so i had to find a pharmacy that was actually open. when we went to get her we waited 90 minutes and the sensor was being weird so they said come back later. finally brought her back home at 11pm and the sensor still wasn't working, had to go buy another sensor and bring her back this morning to switch them out, had to leave her there for a few hours so they could switch them and make sure the new one worked, then come back in the afternoon. i've had like no sleep at all this week, its a miracle i kept my eyes open to get training to give her insulin. she's so much better since she came home, even though she's not stabilised yet she very clearly feels heaps better ❤ it was such a relief to have her sleeping on my bed again last night. i was still up all night because i felt like i needed to keep an eye on her because i didn't have the monitor. we'll be in and out a lot over the next couple of weeks while they fine tune her dosage and monitor her levels.
#i want to know when i get a break#had planed to use this week to catch up on the prof development course i enrolled in months ago that started the day before nonna passed#i hoped it would be a chance to really apply my mind to something because i feel like my brain is utterly degenerated#after the time i took off this week for this i won't be able to do any of it before it closes i'll just have to download the modules#and read them in my own time without doing any activities/participating in discussions#have to keep canceling my dental check up because things keep coming up#i've also spent the last few weeks trying to link my online tax account to my government services account but it says all my info is wrong#no matter what i give them#what do i need to do#my life updates are so miserable. i delete so many of the posts i start because they just depress me#i deleted two earlier this week#feel like i need to get something out so i keep coming back to try#i still haven't asked hr about whether we have that counselling service thing because i keep forgetting bc i always have so much to catch u#on#i'll try to remember to do it next week#tp
