rereading The Dark Artifices is making me yearn soooo deeply for a well executed TV adaptation. i know i would never trust it to be done right but there are sooooo many things that i’ve thought would EAT on tv. i’m making a list because i literally cannot contain myself

-Emma on top of Julian in the back of the car after he gets shot in LM. The sexual tension…. Julian weakly assuring Emma she can fix him… the rush of memories Emma gets of her and Julian when they were younger as she tries the rune the final time. OHHHHHHH my fuck that would kill me

- When the centurions show up in Lord of Shadows and Zara comes bustling towards Diego, hugging him, and introducing herself to Cristina and Mark as Diego’s FIANCÉE!!!!! Imagine THAT at the end of an episode??!!!!!!!

- Kieran walking in on Mark & Cristina dancing in the ballroom and criticizing Mark’s dancing, taking Cristina over to dance with him instead. Then the way he says “There. That is how the blood of faerieland can dance.” afterwards and just stalks off???!!!!!!!! are you kidding????????? Ohhh i just know socials would go crazy over that i just know it

- Emma and Julian arguing in the cottage 😭😭😭 When I reread that scene i immediately was imagining watching it on TV. How it would EAT ME ALIVE!!!!! THE AGONY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I’ve never seen Bridgerton but it reminds me of that clip from it that went viral on tiktok a long time ago of Jonathan Bailey saying “it is not far enough!!” like idk something about the dialogue Cassie wrote between Blackstairs in that scene I feel like people would EAT that shit UP on tiktok the same way they did that bridgerton scene like the way Julian is like “i wish it wasn’t you Emma but it is and it’ll always be you” like FUCKIKK i just need it byaddddddd

I have a really specific fancast for Henry and Charlotte Branwell. It's as period accurate as it can possibly be - Gustav Mahler and Alma Schindler, married couple in real life! I've been researching them for a project for university and it just came into my head - now I can't unsee it lol

I'm gonna be honest, I still sort of miss the "tragic" prototype for TLH. Yes, yes, I'm aware CC has said there wasn't quite an original version, there were options and all, but there were also vibes.

Like given how with the build up to CoT we kept having characters in the present talking about that particular period of the past like "wow, that was horrifying, tragic, life-changing, heartbreaking, a tragedy we must not repeat", it did have the vibes that it was going to be a disaster.

And then... well. It didn't.

It just feels awkward now lmao. Like I would sort of argue what happened in TID ended up being WORSE than what happened in TLH. Yes, Barbara and Christopher died, which sucks, but in comparison... Nathaniel, Jessamine, Jem (sort of), Benedict (at least in terms of emotional damage for the family, same as Nathaniel), Henry losing mobility of his legs... comparatively, the damages were worse for them than for the next generation.

It just makes it all feel a little off to me.

Okay I’m going to say my upmost unpopular opinion that I will get jumped for is that I genuinely don’t think the TMI movie casting for Isabelle and Alec was that bad.

Like idk, I think they both resemble their book counterparts. I feel like so much of the hate they get is that there characters are a bit awkwardly placed in the film- which fair. But idk, I don’t there that bad!!

And I see Alec always getting the most hate in the cast, and I honestly think his only problem was that he definitely looked alot older than the rest of the chase. But other that I genuinely don’t think he was that bad 😭😭 I’m always surprised by the amount of hate I see these two get in particular!!

And I’ll say my other unpopular opinion is that I don’t think the show cast was any better but that’s another opinion to grace the surface for another day

struggling through shadowhunters tv (made it to episode 11!!! yay to me) and oh my god. ugh kill me. anyway what i wanted to say was the worst casting choice might just have been dominic sherwood. no offense to that man but he looks so much older and there is so much i can say about the goofy way jace is portrayed (blaming the director and screenwriters as well ofc) but if there is one thing i'd like to say is for someone to pry the hair gel away from him
