If your hands need to break
More than trinkets in your room
You can lean on my arm
As you break my heart

lottie telling nat there's no false hope, there's just hope in 2x01 and nat telling her to say less. nat telling her to stop promising things that are uncertain, unlikely. lottie pushed on, because she had to. because she believed in what she was doing. lottie reassuring shauna that she won't hurt the baby in 2x03. shauna never said she was worried about violence explicitly, lottie cut her off before she could, but still she was the one who comforted her, who promised she'd be a good mom. who promised everyone was on her side. lottie taking shauna's beating in 2x07. she was the one to face the consequences when she was wrong. when shauna didn't get the opportunity to be a good mother, when something happened no one could truly help her with. when shauna had a nightmare of all of them against her, their faces covered in blood, some remorseless, others still caught in the violence of their brutal betrayal. lottie telling misty in 2x09 i thought it wanted what was best for us. now im not so sure. bad things keep happening, all around her inescapable. maybe there is such a thing as false hope.
