Carpool Karaoke //S.M

“Thank you for helping me get to work today. Traffic is just out of control”

“Yeah of course man.” Shawn smiles and replies to James Corden

“Do you mind if we listen to some music?”

“I would love that.” James hits play and Shawn’s newest song comes on. The two of them sing along and jam out to it. Once it’s over James looks at him 

“So new album. Tell me about it.”

“Yes! December 4! I can not wait for the world to hear it.” 

“This is exciting stuff! I heard a rumor that you may have a very special collaboration on it.” Shawn blushes slightly

“I might yeah.” He responds shyly

“Is that all you are allowed to say or...” James prods

“Or.” Shawn slyly says

“A surprise then?” James looks at him with an eyebrow raised.

“Yeah, I wouldn't want to let the cat out of the bag too early, ay.” 

The two of them laugh and go into the next song.

“Okay the last time we did this we talked about how you are quite possibly the nicest human out there and then I tried to corrupt you by making you yell obscenities at other drivers.”

“That did happen yes.” he smiles 

“Since then you've gotten together with the woman you call the love of your life and she is known to be.. For lack of a better term blunt.”

“Yes...” Shawn trails off not sure where this is going

“Has she rubbed off on you at all?” 

“I think so yeah, I would also like to think that I rubbed off on her as well.” that's your cue to open the door

“Talking about me boys?” you question sitting down. Shawn looks genuinely shocked which is what you had been going for. The two of you hadn’t seen each other in almost a month because of your filming schedule. He had thought you weren’t coming back until tomorrow night. 

“Speak of the devil and she shall appear.” James says good naturedly. You do a hand motion being dramatic when you see Shawn still staring at you.

“Hey babe. Miss me?” you lean forward and peck his cheek. He smiles and nods. That when James hits play and you are rocking out to Particular Taste. The song fades out.

“Well my next question is how do the two of you do it? ” James asks, 

“Do what?” you question

“Maintain the relationship you have. You guys seem like the perfect couple but at the same time it seems as if you never see each other.”

“Well I think we are both very lucky.” Shawn replies  “I am very lucky to have such a great team of people with me from Andrew to Brian to Connor, and everyone in between. They really help keep me going when I am away from Y/N and they make sure to coordinate with her team so that we don’t go that long without seeing each other.” you nod your head agreeing

“Yeah this is actually probably the longest we had gone without each other since we decided to be serious about the relationship and it hadn’t even been a month.” James nods his head listening “And honestly no relationship is impossible if two people decide that they really want to make it work they will. It's when one person gives up or doesn’t try when relationships fail. And that goes for any relationship, not just long distance ones like Shawn and I.” 

Shawn is smiling at you. The two of you had had a lengthy conversation similar to that when you had first started seeing each other 3 years ago now. That conversation had been when he realised he was falling in love with you. Clapping hands snapped him out of his trance. 

“Wow, just wow.” James says applauding you “You are so passionate and wise beyond your years.” you blush and he turns on the music

“So Y/N.”

“Yes James?” 

“Have you heard any of the new music?”

“I have and it’s amazing.” Shawn smiles. 

“Any songs about you?” the smile turns into a blush

“I don’t know why don't we ask the artist himself. So bubs any songs about me?”

“Yes and you know that.” he mock glares at you

“Hmmm, did I?” his glare continues

“So I know you don’t want to give away too much but what about on your previous album, any songs about her on there?” Shawn goes back to the deep pink cheeks

“Yes.”

“Oh I can list those no problem.” You announce “Fallin All in You, Nervous, Particular Taste and Why. That’s it right bub?”

“And Because I Had You.” 

“Right, right.” you nod your head

“Okay next question. Shawn what was your favorite part of recording your upcoming album?” James askes after the next song. Shawn thinks about it for a second

“Probably the day that Y/N came in the studio recorded her vocals for the song.” your eyes go wide 

“Um babe I didn’t know that we were announcing that today.” then his eyes go wide and he slaps his hand over his mouth. James chuckles

“So Y/N you’re on the album huh?”  you nod you head

“Yes Shawn and I wrote a song together and recorded it.” you answer more questions about the album/song and your relationship before

“Well thank you guys for your help getting to work.” James announces

“Oh yeah anytime!” you say

“Of course man.”

You step out of the car and hug James goodbye, then linking your hand with Shawns, walking away

“You know Andrew might kill you right?”

“I know, but you would never let him hurt me right?” He pouts at you 

“Depends on the day.” you say with a straight face before laughing. After a minute of ‘pouting’  he starts to laugh along with you. 

“Okay can I get a real kiss now please?” He says after you calm down you smile up at him and oblige

“I love you bub.”

“I love you too.” he smiles and kisses you again.
