What kinds of dogs are they all? They're so pretty!
My beautiful girls 💕
Maggie was an Australian Shepherd mix. Everything about her taken together, we are fairly certain she was a Golden Retriever, German Shepherd, and Aussie Shepherd mix. She had the coloring of a German Aussie, but her face and fur type matched a Golden.
Riley is a Golden Brittany (Golden Retriever and Brittany Spaniel mix), and we know that for certain. The family she came from raised purebred show dogs, so we know exactly what her parents were. Her litter, as I said, was a happy accident for the family, but the family loved the puppy they kept- and so many of us with dogs from that litter loved theirs so much- that they intentionally bred another litter (they reached out to see if we wanted to give Riley a blood-sibling but we already had our Jessa 💕). Fun fact- the family Riley came from only named the puppy they kept (Rocket), the rest they gave nicknames to. Riley was the absolute cutest of the entire litter, so they called her Pretty Girl.
Jessie is a little bit unknown. As a puppy, they thought she was pure-blooded yellow lab, but then as she grew up, other features and fur started looking less lab-like. The current theory is Yellow Lab/ American White Shepherd mix. It matches her face shape and tail a bit better. But we don't know for sure. She is fiercely clever and has the stubbornness of a husky 😅

What animals would you assign each mash character as?
Oh God. Fantastic question. This is poorly organized because I'm just writing things down as I think about them.
So we know one of my answers. My main man my bestie my sweet cheese Trapper is 100% a fox no doubt about it. I've written 190k words about this what else am I going to say here. Mischievous and clever, independent but loves to play, somewhere between dog and cat coded (the cat coding is more Trapper John M.D. but I'm insane so it's all the effectively same universe to me most of the time). He's even got the laugh....
Hawkeye and BJ both feel obvious to me too as a cat and a dog respectively. The thing with BJ is that people usually say "golden retriever boyfriend" but honestly he's got enough bite that the foxtrap gang generally goes with golden shepherd (golden retriever/German shepherd cross) which is insanely specific and betrays the exact level we think about this at constantly.
Also a thing that's been discussed with the foxtrap gang is Charles as a Pallas cat. IDK how that fits on personality but if you Google one you'll see what I mean looks-wise.
Frank's a ferret. Obviously.
I've seen art of Margaret as a lion and I think that fits really really well. Maybe a tiger if you want to lean more into her independent streak rather than her desire for a pack. Big cat either way imo; it leans into the more complementary dynamic she and Hawk have in the later seasons. Looking for a custom fit in an off the rack world...
I usually see Mulcahy as a rabbit and I agree with that one. He's not a character I spend a lot of time thinking about so I don't have any revelations there.
My brain is insisting on river otter for Henry. No idea where that came from but I think it works, honestly. Goofy little guy who likes to fish.
I'm thinking magpie for Klinger? Likes to collect shiny things, fun pattern, way smarter than you'd think. Maybe a crow—iirc magpies have a bit of a mean streak and that's not him at all. I've also seen art of him as a peacock and my brain is also giving me "one of those tropical birds that has an insane mating dance where they build a little display out of flowers and sticks." I guess he's bird coded to me even if I can't decide on anything specific.
Obvious answer for Potter is to play into something equine and honestly I'd say donkey or mule over horse. I am not a horse girl (gn) but the stereotype is that horses are flighty and donkeys are stubborn, so voila.
Radar.... mouse. Yeah. That feels right.

Siblinghood Troubles World building
WARNING: Gore and body horror mentions. Also, spoilers up to chapter 14.
Callback ping works on first generation Disassemblers, because the Solver has a direct line to them thanks to it creating them. Second generations have never met it and thanks to their already nerfed Solver code, just aren't easy to connect to. This means that Callback ping does not work on them, unless the Solver has paid extra attention to them.
In chapter 10, we are introduced to the slop that is Growth Mulch. A mix of oil, frozen meat/fat and metal, the mulch is basically the ideal Dissassembly Drone meal. Because the DDs were originally made to eat humans and because they have a lot of flesh inside them, they do crave proteins and fat. The mulch also speeds up regeneration, as it gives the Disassembler more material to work with.
It, however, does nothing to feed the Disassembler prey drive. Only Disassemblers who have lived most of their life with workers (aka, Jay and Cyn) can live off it.
The reason most Disassemblers living outside wrap their extremities, despite overheating being a very real risk, is that the heat from their cores does not travel to their limbs or tail. It remains at their chest cavity and keeps their organs/inner mechanics warm. But their tails usually are so long the heat just can't travel that far. The canister at the end protects the very tip, but can't warm the whole tail.
-The fluid in the canister is the same fluid that serves as the acid in the DDs stomachs. It allows the DDs to eat pretty much anything and still gain some sustenance.
Torn ears are such a minor wound that the Disassembler regeneration does not fix them. The only way to fix the ears is to destroy the DDs head. It is easy to tell how long a DD has gone without a decapitation by the amount of ear damage.
DDs born in cold areas usually have fur to protect their tails/hands and feet. Depending how humanized they are, the fur can only be on their tail or basically everywhere but on their chest, stomach and face.
The average number of kits in a DD litter is 2-4. Usually less the harsher their environment is.
As sad as it is, most kits are not expected to survive into adulthood. Especially in hostile places like Copper 9, there simply isn't enough food or warmth to go around.
Cyn's disabilities come from her littermates leeching most of the nutrition in the womb and after she was born being basically left with the bare minimum of food. No one expected her to live longer than a few days.
Each DD in the fic is based on a dog breed.
Jay: German Shepherd Dog. The Most working dog ever. Cyn: Romanian village terrier. Stubborn, anti-social and great at snapping.
SD-J: Belgian Shepherd Malinois. Rival to the GSD, smaller, slinkier and with much more drive. N: Kangal. The nicest thing to its pack, the worst thing to its foes. V: Shiba Inu. Cat-like, does what it wants. Great hunter. Tessa: Border Collie. Far too clever for its own good and great at herding its pack.

Huh, Abel never thought of it that way. The Lord recreated their sheep field not just because it was indeed where he'd spend the majority of his days mostly talking out loud to himself mostly gazing out at his sheep which used to deeply annoy Cain. Also because it's a place where their soul could whisper the things it wasn’t ready to shout somewhere he'd be truly at peace. " I've always had a feeling the Lord was looking out for my babies no danger ever has come to them in the world of the living. I've always been so grateful to them!, I always made sure to give them the best of the best offerings. Even now too, daily in fact,I'm forevermore sooooo grateful to them.... giving my babies a place like this to be at complete peace." The shepherd nods understanding he looks their sheep then back to Peter there's a look in their eyes that indicates that he knows he did not mean to startle him at all. A soft smile spreads across his face because talking about his sheep is his favorite subject! one that shines just like his kind soul mirroring it, a nod then looks back their sheep. " Yes absolutely she is very mischievous she has a very strong personality and is very stubborn their name is Fleece. All sheep have a reputation for being docile and easygoing but they can be downright very mischievous at times. They are very clever, they can escape from enclosures and open gates even. " Abel explains, he points at the ram. " That's Baaaaaa-d Boy Billy, the ram the one that leads the flock he leads the flock, also quite the rascal if he decides to refuse to lead the flock then the whole flock is not moving either, and when a sheep doesn't wanna move then it's really hard to get them to move. " He gives a little laugh because it's very endearing like that, all sheep can be very rascals! and they are so cute! little wholly troublemakers.
Saint Peter can't help but smile gently, the kind of smile that holds galaxies of understanding in it. He watches Abel fluster, awkward and endearing as ever, his words stumbling like a lamb learning to walk. Still holding him close, Peter’s thumbs gently brush away invisible dust from Abel’s cheeks, not out of necessity—just a small fatherly gesture of affection.
"Yes, yes they are floofy," he chuckles softly. "And they’re lucky, you know? To be watched over by someone who loves them so purely." Peter lets the embrace loosen just a little, giving Abel space to breathe but not to drift away.
"I didn’t mean to startle you—I just heard what you said, and I wanted you to know… it’s not silly. Not to me. You spoke from a place few dare to look into. That kind of love, that kind of truth… it’s sacred."
Peter glances out at the sheep as one nuzzles another tenderly. "I think the Lord recreated this field for you not just because you loved it… but because He knew it would be the place your soul could still whisper the things it wasn’t ready to shout."
"Now… shall we sit with the floofy ones for a while? You can tell me all about their personalities. I bet that one over there’s a bit of a rascal, isn’t he?"

What type of dogs the characters would have if they were to get a dog
Balan: Greyhound (These dogs not only are gentle and affectionate, they're also pretty fast too. Plus, their shedding is not excessive.)
Lance: Rottweiler (At first glance, they may look really intimidating. But they are actually a lot nicer. Will be devoted to protecting their owners.)
Leo Craig: Akita Inu (This dog is both faithful and courageous, but they are super stubborn. Just like Leo himself.)
Emma Cole: Vizsla (Upon meeting the first time, these dogs are rather shy. But with enough interaction, they are proven to be loyal and gentle.)
Jose Gallard: Border Collie (Not only is this dog breed energetic, but it's one of the few breeds that are great with protecting farms. Also easy to train as well.)
Fiona Demetria: Golden Retriever (These dogs are great swimmers and love being in the water. Plus, they are also intelligent as well.)
Yuri Brand: Maltese (This breed is both playful and easy-going at the same time, which is great for those that are more on the calm side. Yuri would love this breed of dog.)
Haoyu Chang: Cavalier King Charles Spaniel (This dog is pretty adaptable and pretty laid-back, just like Haoyu himself. Imagine the two of them lounging on the grass together.)
Sana Hudson: Boxer (These dogs are both friendly, playful, and can be trained to protect. Very loyal and energetic.)
Cass Milligan: Chihuahua (These small dogs are both devoted to their owners and lively, but they can get aggressive if nothing goes their way.)
Cal Suresh: German Shepherd (Intelligent and loyal, these dogs are easy to train. Can be stubborn, but obedient nonetheless.)
Iben Bia: Bulldog (This dog is friendly and docile. It also is one of the breeds that like to cuddle with family.)
Attilio Caccini: Dachshund (Very playful, independent, and clever. Plus, these dogs are known to be silly.)
Lucy Wong: Shih Tzu (Despite its playful nature, this dog is rather calm. Which is great for Lucy if she has to concentrate on something.)
Eis Glover: Dalmatian (Friendly, playful, and active. Plus, it's been confirmed that this is Eis's favorite animal. Also associated with firefighting.)
Bruce Stone: Chow Chow (Aloof, but very loyal and independent. Can be on the quiet side.)

Harrow the Ninth: Blood and Guts; With Feeling!!!
While I’m sure the physical trauma, gore, intentional autophagia, unintentional cannibalism, and necrophilia in the book will be what turns mainstream heads, what really grabbed me about Harrow the Ninth was its unabashed and sincere humanity.
Every character in Harrow the Ninth gets to be a full human being. The best example to my mind is Crux: a gruesome cadaver 2 parts loyalty, 3 parts shouting, and 5 parts sheer bloody-minded cussedness; who blew up a long-grieving, broken family(and their completely innocent pilot) for the “crime” of leaving the place that murdered their husband and father and broke them; who insulted, beat, and tortured Gideon her WHOLE DAMN LIFE. And, also, the major, if not only, source of kindness and sympathy in Harrow’s own.
CRUX!!! Kind uncle Crux sneaking her sweets once a year and whenever she gets sick? Reliable retainer Crux always honest with her about her hallucinations and never judging or dismissing her for them; doing EVERY BIT of what little he can to help and protect her? Soft-voiced and kind Crux being the only member of the household who DOESNT abandon her in the Nova AU? THIS IS HOW HARROW SEES CRUX! The guy who casually kicked and spit on Gideon, who treated her as less than trash and never showed her even the shadow of an ounce of kindness is, in Harrow’s mind, the kindest person in her life. That is Fucking Wild.
Everyone is allowed to be 3D in this book, even when Harrow and Gideon disdain them. Ortus -a too-big blubbering joke in Gideon the Ninth, and Gideon and Harrow’s minds both- doesn’t JUST get to be brave, to be selfless, to confront and face up to and SURMOUNT his mistakes and flaws and then ride off glorious and stupid into Valhalla, he gets something so much more important; to speak for himself. To be Known. Understood. Through Harrow’s petty sniping we get to see the love and care he has for his shitty poetry; through her defensively projected self-loathing his regret, his sympathy, the breadth of his Heart, the loyalty to Harrow which lets him be insulted and also the stubborn pride which insists those insults not go unanswered. I’m tearing up just writing this! We get to see, in his meeting Protesilaus, him struggle with the very image of EVERYTHING he wants to be but isn’t, AND we get to see him resolve that displaced self-hatred to BOTH men -who he is, and who he isn’t- and befriend them both, and realize that the physical distance between them is superficial before the siblinghood of souls, and even more: that the conceptual distance between his ideal and his reality doesn’t have to prevent him from being good. He’s still a side character but he gets an arc, development, a story, and resolution, and HE gets to give its summation. And he’s allowed to be Heroic in his own way! HIS words summon his Hero from The River to speak HIS meter while fighting to save them all powered by THEIR shared belief in HIS Art, and then a heaven of his own defining. What other book does that for a JOKE character?!
And again: this is everybody. Yes of course the souls Harrow unknowingly called up, all those too-soon dead from Gideon the Ninth; We get to see Abigail and Magnus’s love for one another -and the dreadful teens, and their universal big-heartedness- up close, and the refutation of(or perhaps counterpoint to) Ianthe’s selfish conception of love gets to come from Magnus’s lips(oh: and Abigail SAVES THE FLIPPIN DAY! Harrow gets to know her and, through this, we get to know the true tragic waste of her death at the same time that we get to watch her MAKE her own meaning from beyond the grave); we get to see Protesilaus’s bravery and grace and kindness; Dulcinea’s indefatigability and cleverness and morbidity; Marta’s selflessness and unshakeable faith in Judith; we get to see ALL OF THEM run literally soul-risking cosmic dangers to shepherd one grieving, suffering, traumatized young woman -their jailer!- not only THROUGH that grief, but also through spiritual invasion by the product of their society’s sins: Of COURSE that was Noble as Fuck and I was Sobbing.
but EVERYBODY! John, for all his exTREMELY fucked up morality and inability to understand her, GENUINELY cares for Harrow, GENUINELY tries to see the best in everyone(even if, I suspect, that’s for mostly selfish reasons), and we get to see the sincerity of that; his care, and the self-recrimination his missteps bring despite that unyielding, bullheaded, self-warping insistence to continue on one Faustian course after another. The Lyctors in all their twisted, ancient cruelty: we get to see their surviving virtues beside their ENORMOUS, demented, murderous flaws -Augustine’s cleverness, wit and charm; Mercymorn’s outrage at endangering the young; Gideon’s faithful dutifulness; the endless love and sorrow all of them have for their Cavaliers- in the context of the fear and strain and loneliness the Emperor has forced them to endure for ten thousand years. We get to see the true grief and betrayal, fresh and bloody even now, they feel at John’s lies and manipulations, the relief they feel at thinking it all finally over, and even some small glimpses of the love they’ve managed to carve out for themselves in all of that: Gideon’s necrophilic makeout with Cytherea’s corpse takes on a whole different meaning when you learn that the first soul he’s truly loved since Pyrra is driving it around. And this too is significant; for all the discomfort it brings Harrow, and the general gross-out factor, and despite their villainy, the Kindly Prince and his Lyctors, the “Adults in the Room”, are allowed to have desires; allowed to be full and sexual people.
And the same sentiment extends to how Ianthe is written. As much as she is Harrow’s tormentor(and she is); as much as she is a ghastly, gaslighting manipulator(and she absolutely is); we also clearly see that she is Harrow’s fellow prisoner and victim on that station. Her terror is real; her suffering is allowed to be real. As much as they would Harrow, the Lyctors would as soon kill Ianthe as help her, and the Emperor not only allows that mindset but orders it thinking it helpful; just so long as his deniability remains plausible throughout. She gets to be Harrow’s safest harbor in a sea of troubles while ALSO being the person fucking with her perceptions to build in her feelings of helplessness and dependency for the SOLE PURPOSE of getting in her pants. Yet Gideon herself names her joy at seeing Harrow alive Genuine; her love for Harrow, Genuine; as twisted and awful-made by the cruel ideals instilled by her life of entitlement and emotional abuse they are, those feelings are still allowed to be real and heart-felt. Her attraction to Harrow, expressed cruelly and selfishly as it is, isn’t dismissed; Muir treats it always seriously, as she does Harrow’s own desires, and repressed confusion over them, for Ianthe. Everybody in this book gets to be REAL.
Fuck even Alecto. Over and over again we get to hear the Lyctors call her a Freak, a Monster, Subhuman(and given her eyes, those white-on-black oddities, it’s very likely she ISNT human; either a Planet-Soul herself or something even stranger); we get to hear from John’s own lips -the person SHE guarded; HER Necromancer in a pairing we have seen presented as the epitome of intimacy through two books- how he betrayed and “killed” her to calm their fears of her; and yet all the while there she is with Harrow, comforting, advising, never shaming or judging, being the only real friend Harrow’s allowed herself to be aware of.
Harrow the Ninth may very well be “Genre” Fiction, but its emotional universal is not only meticulously naturalistic, it is radiantly understanding and humane.

dislikes: people prying into her past, pickled vegetables, enclosed and/or crowded spaces, swimming, being Known™ in haven
strengths: magic (both brute force & controlled), knife-fighting, working with children, speed, cleverness, quick-thinking, introspectiveness, honesty
weaknesses: social situations, overly stubborn, past injuries (particularly on her hands) sometimes make it hard to fight physically, brute strength, holds grudges, emotionally repressed + PTSD, has a major guilt complex & will push people away/get herself into dangerous situations to “protect them” (doesn’t consider her own safety to be an important thing, essentially)

PERSONALITY
heart of gold / will of iron (it’s a 52-48 split- very close)
rebellious / loyal
independent / social
tactful / straightforward
bold / cautious
charming / stoic / intimidating
witty / sincere
resentful / forgiving
self-preserving / self-sacrificing (rhia claims she’s self-preserving, but she’s really... not)
book-smart / street-smart
one-god / atheist / old faith
bright mind / silver tongue / razor wits / nerves of steel
overall personality: although as a child/teen she was confident and playful, ten years of life alone and on the run have hardened rhia and caused her to retreat into her shell. she’s always been headstrong and stubborn, but now she tends to come across as rather prickly or icy to people she doesn’t know or trust. when you do get to know her though, it’s clear she’s more awkward than intentionally mean, although her personality can still come off as snarky or abrasive when she’s in uncomfortable situations or around unfamiliar faces. rhia can be a bit temperamental at times, but (though she’s convinced otherwise) she’s a good person with a kind heart who’s incredibly protective of those she cares about, no matter how much she may try to deny or bury it- she never asked for the powers to save the world, but she’ll be damned if she won’t do it... regardless of the cost to herself. she blames herself entirely for the loss of her village and is terrified of hurting the people she loves like that again, but joining the shepherds is the biggest catalyst for rhia trying her best to open up once more. though she’s always cared for them in her own way she’s now beginning to truly trust them, and with red around she’s slowly starting to show her softer side again, too.
.
RELATIONSHIPS
best friend(s): red antiqua, halek prince, riel syndran, briony stormbreaker, caine
preferred mission partner(s): red, halek, blade (they butt heads, but rhia trusts his work ethic lolol), and ayla or briony. generally a team that she trusts to get stuff done & won’t give her a heart attack (i.e. working with chase or trouble can be fun, but rhia is Stressed)
friendly rival(s): probably chase a little bit, just because they tend to snark at each other a lot. they’re good friends though! she and ayla also get a little competitive since they’re both elementalists, but it’s the type of rivalry that pushes them both to improve.
love interest(s): red antiqua (ex and current)
first kiss scenario: okay but the fact that i could 100% see that being their first kiss as teenagers + a possible first kiss once they get back together... good shit. (and i do have a WIP where rhia gets injured... 🤔)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
enemies: ebert, the endarkened, the autarchy, moonsilk (not really she’s just big mad + halek is her bff ajsjjsjsj)
.
REFERENCE QUOTES
“she’s got a passion for learning, that one. miss vasi was the best assistant i’ve had in ages, and though i often found her reading on the job she always finished her work. very detail oriented, too, although i do wish she hadn’t left so suddenly. it always did feel like she was running from something.” (- librarian from an unnamed city in Blest)
“rhiannon’s vicious in a fight, i’ll give ‘er that much. she’s not exactly the most chatty o’ folks, but if yer looking for a good bodyguard you ain’t getting’ much better than ‘er.” (- fellow mercenary)
“i think she might hold the record for the shortest amount of time a waitress ever worked here. to be fair, i don’t really blame her for throwing a drink in that man’s face and threatening to shove her foot up his you-know-where when he made that comment, but business is business.” (- owner of an inn in an unnamed city in Blest)
“rhia was always at the top of our class in the circle; she was confident and funny, and even when she got in trouble it was clear the teachers loved her! she was always happy to help anyone with their work, too- or anything really. she was great fun, one of the good ones. i do wonder what happened in those years she was gone though, because seeing her again, it was like she was almost... sad. like a light all burnt out. i hope she’s alright; i’ve been a little worried, and i know red and neon have too. red especially, if you catch my drift.” (-panrachus )

How would Blair and Chloe feel about everyone else?
Tagging @grodygabe since I decided to answer for EVERYONE.
Chloe
Mary- Immediate new friend. Chloe thrives off building connections with others and Mary is so nice and cool! And gosh the roller skates, Chloe loves that. Plus Mary understands a little of what Chloe has gone through, which is something she hasn’t had before and… that’s a very bittersweet thing, especially in a place like this.
Cora- Also cool. Chloe gets the sense she has to prove herself to Cora though and she doesn’t know how. It’s not that Chloe needs to be friends but that she knows in a place like this it will be better if they can work together. So, it’s Chloe’s own personal mission to get Cora to trust her.
Pandora- just seems to have her own wisdom about her in- in her own way that is. Plus she’s also traveled a lot. I can imagine Chloe would love swapping stories with her.
Bastion- He seems so nice, and she really appreciates does appreciate him trying to look out for her. She accepts his help because it doesn’t seem like he’s doing it out of pity- she can’t stand when people think she needs their pity- Chloe is capable. She clearly is or she wouldn’t be here! Something tells her this place, whatever the heck it is, does not take those who can’t survive for long. Anyways, she likes Bastion and I can see these two becoming good friends very fast, she’ll want to watch out for him as well.
Kiyoko- Chloe would be surprised to realize this one is nervous around her but that’s ok! There is never anything wrong with being shy. Chloe would give her space and respect that’s what Kiyoko needs. If they’re hanging out in the same space between trials Chloe would just whip out the old guitar and play because that always seems to loosen anyone up. If it doesn’t work, then that’s ok too.
Thomas- He is also closed off, but it’s like he wants to trust her and be friends but something holds him back. She wonders why…
Johnny- His arms! She would honestly want to cry the first time she gets a good look at him. To see someone’s prosthetics look just that amazing, to see all the cool things he can do, and he built those himself?! She really would find it a little inspiring. Don’t get me wrong, she’ll still find him terrifying. But just- just wow. Calls him amputee buddy behind his back.
Thaddeus-Is it weird that in some ways he reminds her of her own grandfather? Very no-nonsense and gruff but she has a suspicion he can be nice if he really, reeeeaaaaally wants to. Plus she would find his treatment of Cora a little funny.
Gisela- Is beautiful in a very creepy way. I think Chloe would enjoy visiting her realm the most just because she likes the aesthetic of the different maps. She would be cautious around Gisela however. Chloe gets the vibe that upsetting her would be a very bad idea.
Akane- Is probably going to get the guitar treatment often X3. It’s really nothing personal, it’s just Chloe has a particular fight or flight response and if something that angry and scary is coming after her you know what you’re going to get. She would actually be rather intimidated by Akane since running isn’t her strongest suit.
Apophis-Chloe has never had a problem with snakes… until now. She normally feels a little bad when she has no choice but to get aggressive with the other killers. Chloe is determined to survive but she doesn’t really want to hurt anyone. But Apophis makes her actually feel like she’s being hunted, not just chased. He would put her on edge almost as much as Blair does.
Irene- She’s so rude and bitter! Just…. why?! Chloe will honestly love Irene’s map, but I think what will be most interesting is that Chloe will insist on being nice to Irene no matter what. Perhaps it’s a bit of a “kill them with kindness” approach.
Blair- she’s so afraid to run into him again. But she knows it’s going to happen eventually so the best she can hope for is to prep her fellow survivors for what will be coming.
Blair
Mary- This one has spirit, he’ll see her as a challenge in matches and enjoy it. Her cleverness, her quick remarks, it will all be fun banter for Blair. He’s more likely to avoid focusing on just her in a chase however. Blair plays the long game, relying on patience and strategy rather than just barreling after a survivor. He knows this would do better to throw off her game anyways if he won’t give in to any of her baiting.
Cora- He’ll see a lot of her ancestor in her, that independence and stubbornness; honestly he can respect that. I hate to say it, but Blair will mess with her in matches from time to time just to annoy Thaddeus. Purely because Thaddeus being angry is funny to him.
Pandora- Another fighter, he’s learned from Chloe it's best to watch the feisty ones. Pandora would probably be able to get in a swing but that’s it. He would switch to getting her from a distance with flash powder or fumes. If that doesn’t work then shepherd her into an area like the funhouse or animal tent instead of simply trying to corner her.
Bastion- Sorry to say it, but the moment Blair learns Bastion is afraid of clowns he’s going to go ham finding all the ways he can scare the poor guy.
Kiyoko- A bit of a mouse yes? How timid this one is, let’s see if there is a lion in her yet.
Thomas- In some ways he pities the boy for having to deal with Irene. Buuuut, not that much pity. Again, like Cora, Blair would mess with Thomas during matches because it would make Irene angry. His newfound favorite hobby.
Chloe- Here’s the thing, Blair actually respects Chloe. The entity interfered with the match which he considers cheating. But he knows that wasn’t her doing, plus it was at a minute left on the clock. Meaning there was a very real chance she could have held him off just long enough to win. So in Blair’s opinion she did win, something no one has done and walked away from with their sanity intact. All the others were assimilated into the circus, so he decided Chloe is now a member as well, regardless if she wants to be or not. Her role is a unique one at that but she is one of them nonetheless. He’ll take to quietly keeping an eye on her for now.
Johnny- Will thank him for the compliment of being called a clown, every single time. He’s definitely going to want to tease Johnny from time to time but the gentleman minds his own business and for the most part Blair will respect that. He is very curious about Johnny’s technical creations though. Blair was just a boy when the idea of “modern electric lights” and other marvels were first made available to the public. To see how far technology has come is astounding.
Thaddeus- Will also thank him for the clown compliment. Blair really doesn’t have much interest in the old man except that it’s fun to annoy him. Otherwise, like Johnny Blair will respect Thaddeus’ space.
Gisela- Now Blair has a pretty decent connection with the entity they serve, but he takes one look at Gisela and immediately will understand “that… don’t mess with that.” He will however be so amazed at the idea of real magic. One of Blair’s earliest lessons was that there is always someone better at your job, you just have to perfect your craft to yourself. He is proud of his talents but would want to learn real magic so badly. He knows however, she would not be a willing teacher. But Blair is patient, he knows when she’s visiting his realm and lets her explore freely, perhaps it is a start.
Akane- After just one meeting Blair would get the sense to just leave this one alone. He’s not afraid of her and her anger. But, something about this one and the way she acts. He just gets the feeling he should leave her be.
Apophis- While Blair finds Apophis’ appearance and abilities to be fascinating, Blair is not intimidated, definitely a lot of banter between these to. Both are proud and while Blair never has trouble sharing the spotlight Apophis will irritate him. Also, the snake is not allowed to visit his circus unsupervised for the safety of his people.
Irene- Hehe, they can’t stand each other. Blair will take a lot of enjoyment riling Irene up into a full on tantrum. He actually remembers seeing a much younger Irene in newspapers back in the old days. He thought she looked arrogant even then. You can imagine Irene’s thoughts on circus performers so these two are always going at each other.

use your dog knowledge tell me what dogs the bau would beeeeeeee
yeeeeeeeeeeee
Hotch: Hotch is the Anatolian Shepherd. He’s the guardian of the BAU. According to the AKC, the Anatolian is loyal, independent, and reserved. They are wary toward outsiders and protective of what is theirs. Hotch finds it difficult to accept new people into his inner circle, but once someone has earned his trust, they become part of his flock.
Derek: Derek is the Siberian husky. He’s loyal, mischievous, and outgoing. He is the extrovert of the team and the ladies’ man, and he’s also the resident athlete. He’s a team player but he also has an independent streak.
Spencer: Spencer is the Chihuahua. He’s smart, he’s small, he’s not very athletic, he’s prone to anxiety. He also knows he’s cute and knows how to get his way. He’s charming, graceful, and sassy.
JJ: JJ is the golden retriever. She is the peaceful mediator between the team and the public as a liaison. but she is easily trained into the profiling position and picks up quite a few profiling skills just over years of observation. She’s eager to please and likes to receive approval, and she’s dedicated and loyal both to her job and to her family.
Rossi: Rossi is the Chow Chow. He’s noble, dignified, bright, and serious. He has to learn how to be a team player, and it’s a long process for him to feel like a member of the BAU because he perceives a single profiler as sufficient to get the job done. He doesn’t like to rely on others. When he eventually does come to trust the BAU as his people, he will do anything to protect them--offering to pay any amount of money to get Reid out of jail, avenging Gideon’s death, becoming a presence for Hotch after Haley’s death, allowing Emily to confide in him.
Penelope: Penelope is the Wheaten terrier. She’s friendly, happy, and deeply devoted, and she has a fair amount of maintenance to keep up her style. She’s very intelligent and will learn to do things on her own, but she feasts upon positive reinforcement and does not respond well to negative feedback or punishment. Too rough of handling will break her spirit.
Emily: Emily is the Staffordshire Bull Terrier. She’s clever, brave, and tenacious. She is very game and will not stop at her own injury once she has entered an altercation. She can be stubborn and will disrespect the rules if given the opportunity.

21st Anniversary of The Prince of Egypt
Tumblr media
To think this movie is already 21 years old (fun fact, this movie came out the date before my birthday, in the year after my birth), and it’s such a beautiful masterpiece!
To celebrate, here’s a list of my favourite moments in no particular order:
1) Deliver Us- This song is perhaps my most favourite song in the whole movie. It’s epic, bitter, and the music is so rhythmic as it captures the suffering of the Hebrews and sets the tone for the rest of the film. There’s also the brief glimmer of hope it offers when baby Moses is found by Queen Tuya, who immediately takes him in after being completely charmed by his adorableness, and Miriam’s lovely reprise of Yocheved’s River Lullaby. And of course, we cannot forget Ofra Haza’s amazing vocals as Yocheved, especially with how she sings in Hebrew in her introduction. She had such a divine voice, and she shall be missed forever.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
2) The Plagues- Of course, this song will also be one of my favourites as well. The emotion in the music, the way the choir sounds so intimidating as they sing lines like “I send the thunder from the sky, I send the fire raining down”, it truly conveys God’s wrath, all while underscoring the turbulent emotional conflict between Moses and Rameses. Hearing the pain in Moses’ voice as he’s forced to watch the Egyptians suffer, and hearing the bitter anger in Rameses’ voice as he remains stubborn to Moses’ pleading... this song is truly a masterpiece. It also really shows how human Moses is. The Old Testament never really shows Moses feeling any remorse for the suffering that the Egyptians go through, but this movie makes Moses so human, so much more real, and shows how he still cares about Egypt, even as he’s trying to free his people.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
3) The Return to Egypt- I love the music that plays during Moses and Tzipporah’s journey back to Egypt, especially with the additions of Ofra Haza’s beautiful vocals that underscore the suffering of the Hebrew slaves. And that determined, serious expression on Moses’ face as they near the palace just makes him look so badass, especially when he and Tzipporah enter the palace and make their way to the Pharaoh. I especially loved the festive undercurrent of that particular section of the soundtrack, with Moses and Tzipporah walking with determination into the great hall as the people look at them in surprise and suspicion, all while the dancers are dancing before the Pharaoh. It’s quite a phenomenal scene, really heightening the tension to reveal the Pharaoh upon the throne as Rameses, upon which the music ends. It’s such a determined, badass scene that I just had to include it here.
Tumblr media
4) Look Through Heaven’s Eyes- After Moses has lost everything he’s ever known, after his entire life has been destroyed, he feels so unworthy of honour and praise. But with Jethro’s patience and kindness, the help of the Midianites, and the support of Tzipporah, Moses rebuilds a brand new life for himself as a shepherd. It’s such an uplifting song with beautiful lyrics that encourages us to look at our lives in a different perspective, that we all have meaning within us, we just have to find it. And really, it’s so wonderful to see how Moses learns and adapts to a new way of living, how he makes new friends, and of course, how blissful and happy he is after marrying Tzipporah. Plus, seeing Moses and Tzipporah falling in love is super sweet. Ultimately, it’s a song that I’ve now taken to heart, and will remember if I’m ever stuck in a rut.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
5) The Burning Bush- Who can ever forget this scene, when Moses meets God? Oh my gosh, it is such an amazingly powerful scene; from the wistful music that plays when Moses discovers the burning bush to the way the bush flowers after God speaks to Moses... I really have to hand it to the filmmakers; they’ve successfully managed to capture the powerful and almighty presence of God. I love how God chastises Moses for questioning Him, then immediately comforts Moses like a loving parent, promising him that He will be there with him, just like any parent would say. It truly is a wonderful, amazing scene that’ll always leave me breathless. Also worth mentioning is the moment before, when Moses gives Tzipporah a kiss in the morning, and after the scene, when he picks Tzipporah up and twirls her around a bit. It’s so sweet and touching to watch, and they’re just so believable as a married couple!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
6) The Hieroglyph Nightmare- Despite how dark and horrifying the whole nightmare sequence is, I really love the animation in that scene. Seeing the events of the beginning from Moses’ perspective in the style of hieroglyph paintings is really impressive, but it’s also so chilling to actually see the soldiers tearing babies from their cradles, from their mothers’ arms, all while such terrifying music plays in the background. Every time I watch that scene, I get chills down my spine when I hear the screaming of the mothers and babies that underscores the scene, and then Moses seeing his biological mother sending him as an infant in the basket always pulls at my heart. And the inclusion of the sun disk, Aten, is quite a clever way of showing that God sent Moses the nightmare in a way he understands.
Tumblr media
7) The Chariot Race/Moses and Rameses’ Bond- Honestly, this is what really made me love this movie’s portrayal of Moses. As someone who studied the Old Testament in high school, this scene really offers a unique, refreshing portrayal of a Biblical character. I haven’t seen too many Biblical movies, but most of the time, Moses has always been portrayed as old and serious, especially when he returns to free the Hebrews. Seeing Moses portrayed as young, handsome, mischievous, and playful really makes him so much more human, especially when we see how close he and Rameses are. This movie shows that Moses has fond memories of his upbringing in Egypt, and that he truly loves and cares about Rameses, which makes it so much more painful when he’s forced to be enemies with his adoptive brother. And his close bond with Rameses is truly one of the sweetest parts of this movie, especially when Rameses bear-hugs Moses in front of the entire court, which makes the gradual destruction of their brotherhood all the more tragic.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
8) The Parting of the Red Sea- Apparently, it took the animators two years to do this scene, and it really shows. It’s so epic and gorgeous to watch, and the passage of the Hebrews through the partition was so amazing. I love how we saw the whale shark being illuminated through one of the walls of water; it truly adds to how majestic this whole scene is. On an emotional level, seeing Aaron being the first one to encourage the Hebrews to cross, and putting his faith in Moses, it’s quite a touching moment. And on a nightmare-fuel level, watching the walls of water collapse and drown all the Egyptian soldiers while pushing Rameses back to the shore is truly terrifying. Honestly, this is another scene that really shows God’s wrath and cruel mercy, and will always chill me whenever I watch it. It truly is a spectacular, sublime moment in this movie.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
9) When You Believe- This song is truly a beautiful, touching piece of music, with incredibly uplifting lyrics, and for it to come after one of the most darkest and saddest moments in the movie, I find it quite fitting, actually. Despite the fact that Moses has officially lost Rameses for good, he’s finally succeeded in freeing his people, even though it has come at a heavy price. While Rameses giving Moses permission to leave Egypt with his people was such a bleak and despairing moment, this song offers a glimmer of hope in the darkness. In addition, the children singing “Mi Chamocha” was so sweet, especially as we see how the Hebrews gradually become more cheerful once they realize that they’re free for real. It goes from being sorrowful and tentatively hopeful to triumphant and optimistic, and it’s such a beautiful scene to watch. And of course, Whitney Houston and Mariah Carey’s version is truly the best as well.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
10) Playing With The Big Boys- This song is quite a scary song, but it’s just such a cool scene to watch as well. I love the rhythmic invocation of the Egyptian pantheon, especially with how ominous the music is. But I also love how it shows a sharp contrast between how Moses invokes the power of God and how the priests invoke the power of their gods. Moses didn’t need any theatrics or magic tricks to turn his staff into a snake, while the priests literally use smoke and mirrors and elaborate rituals to turn their staffs into snakes. And the fact that the song ends with their snakes being consumed by the snake from Moses’ staff really foreshadows just who ends up winning in the long run, making it quite a good song. And plus, I also like to read the YouTube comments on this particular song, they’re just hilarious.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
And those are my top moments of The Prince of Egypt. Of course, it’s an incomplete list, but this is all in no particular order, since I just love the whole movie so much. So happy anniversary to this beautiful, wonderful movie!

Anything Else: Lucy has been in Africa working at the Namboze Clinic, but recently decided to quit after some missteps. She has just recently returned to Seattle to resume her fetal surgery fellowship.
BIO
Lucy grew up in Massachusetts to a moderately wealthy family. Her father, Arthur, was a lawyer and her mother, Anna, was a real estate agent. The beginning of her childhood was pretty happy. Average. Her older brother Christian and her fought a lot, which made them unruly children in their home.
When Lucy was 9, her mother became pregnant with her third child. Lucy was very excited to have a younger sibling, especially when they found out it would be a girl. Lucy longed to be an older sister so she would have someone to boss around (and also hopefully someone to idolize her). The pregnancy really brought the family together. That was, until, there were complications.
TW: infant loss, death
Around the seventh month of Anna’s pregnancy, she went into labor. Anna had an antepartum hemorrhage and became bleeding. Lucy was there with her brother when she was rushed to the hospital. There were complications during surgery, things Lucy didn’t understand at the time. Their father had rushed to the hospital from work, only in time to be told they hadn’t been able to revive Anna. APH had resulted in fetal hypoxia, and the baby was also unable to be saved. They mourned the loss of both, naming their lost daughter/sister Hazel.
Things really changed for their family following Anna and Hazel’s deaths. Arthur became much colder towards his children than he ever had before. He was extremely hard on Christian and Lucy, and it caused rifts in their relationships. Lucy even went away to a private high school to attempt to escape from it. The only person from her family she remained extremely close to was Christian. Lucy loved her brother, and what they experienced as children really helped to bring them closer together.
When Lucy decided she wanted to go into medicine, her mother was a large influence. She thought her father would be proud, but he was disappointed that she had not chosen the path he thought would be most suitable. Arthur preferred Lucy pressure a career in law, much like he did. Apparently, being a doctor wasn’t what he wanted and, therefore, it just wasn’t good enough.
Lucy attended Harvard Medical School and the went on to Duke to complete her residency. Her focus was in OB/GYN and fetal surgery. When the time came to choose a fellowship, she was wowed by the offerings of Seattle Grace Mercy West, specifically that Addison Montgomery (the doctor she wanted to model her career after) had previously worked there.
A little while into her fellowship, Lucy met Alex Karev. Lucy absolutely hated Alex at first. He had been wildly offensive and rude upon their first conversation. However, over time, he grew on her. She saw a softer side of him, and realized that some of the tougher parts of him acted as a defense mechanism. She began to engage in a relationship with him. Around the same time, Callie Torres got into her car accident, and Lucy failed to adequately help her and Sofia. It was a huge blow to Lucy’s confidence. She felt so embarrassed by admitting she was in over her head.
This influenced Lucy to start applying to other hospitals and seeing what was out there. She applied to Baylor and was upset when Alex didn’t ask her to stay. When she found out Alex was interested in the job in Africa, she didn’t even consider that it would be something she was interested in. However, as Alex spoke about it, she realized he was not setting aside opportunities. He was putting them first, ahead of their relationship. So, Lucy applied for the job and eded up stealing it out from underneath Alex. She regretted it almost immediately, seeing the hurt on his face, but it was too late. The opportunity was still great, and she had to go.
After a fem months away running the Namboze Clinic in Malawi, Lucy made the decision to return to Seattle to finish her fellowship. While in Africa, she didn’t fully feel present. It was as if she knew she had just been running away from the things that scared her. Her relationship. Her failures. Now back in Seattle, she had the very best teachers to learn from. However, she knew it would be difficult learning to navigate the hospital with how she left things with Alex and the other doctors at SGMW.

German Shepherd Training: The 7 Golden Rules & Basic Commands
Tumblr media
I am sure you will agree if I tell you:
It is a pleasure to have a well trained dog in your area.
If you have a dog without training, you know the frustration.
If you bring only your first German Shepherd dog home.
Or if you finally decided to teach your old dog new tricks ...
With 101 participants in the German Shepherd Training you are right here.
There is no denying that German Shepherds are among the smartest and most intelligent working dogs.
Before only Border Collie and Standard Poodle.
This emerges from a 1994 published by Stanley Coren book "The Intelligence of Dogs".
Find out more about his studies and the metrics here.
Thanks to its ability to understand new orders in less than 5 repetitions and to follow a first order 95% of the time or more.
And the desire to please you; Most owners can train their dog successfully.
German shepherds can sometimes be stubborn because of their intelligence. You need a firm hand and an intelligent approach to your training.
It's exciting to train your German Shepherd. But sometimes dog training can be overwhelming if you do not even know where to start.
So here's the case:
Recommended Reading: Best reviews of the online dog trainer
You have to enter the head of your German Shepherd Dog ...
And I'll show you exactly how you can do it:
Use these 7 golden rules to teach your German Shepherd to make the training easy and entertaining, but above all, successful ...
The 7 golden rules for the training of German shepherds 1. Your dog has a specific function in the breed Her German shepherd dog comes from a long bloodline of working dogs. In the case of GSD, the specific function of the breed is grazing and keeping. German Shepherds are also excellent tracking dogs and excellent in search and rescue. And in nature, every member of the pack understands his duty to work for food and water.
Your dog still understands that today.
The conclusion is:
Your German pastor wants to be busy. Training is like killing two birds with one stone.
You have a polite and obedient dog while your dog gets the stimulation and work environment he desires.
2. Your dog is not a person, your dog is a reflection of you As humans, we embody everything we love, including our beloved dogs. And in my opinion, there is nothing wrong with that.
As long as we remember that our dogs work instinctively. And our feelings influence these instincts.
For example ...
This staffie names Apollo, who has hydrotherapy on the same day as Charley.
Now Apollo and Charley hate each other. Nobody knows why!
Then, a few weeks ago, Charley was in his weekly hydrotherapy session when Apollo passed his massage mat.
The moment I saw him, I stretched. And in fractions of a second, Charley, who had undergone hip replacement, jumped on all fours and began to bark wildly.
She has never had problems with any of the other dogs that exist. Even the owners, Jack Russell, surround him without problems.
The therapist and I never saw it coming. But in retrospect, I should have known ...
Charley responded to his instinct.

My feelings played a big role in his last reaction. Charley answered, but the results were not positive. Because I was tense and worried.
You may be wondering what you can do to encourage your GSD to respond positively.
Which brings us to the next golden rule ...
3. Your dog has a basic need: Understand it and the training will be very easy Do you see this cute puppy cuddled on your couch? Do you see this old dog who needs to learn new tricks?
They are looking for you as a leader ...
And here is the trick:
The most valuable thing you can do for your dog is to show him that you are a good leader. If you think that good leadership is "alpha," you're wrong.
Your dog knows you are not a dog and therefore you will never see yourself as a dog or an alpha.
Being a good leader means your GSD can and always will look for your advice.
Think about it ...
When your dog tries to guide you, he feels comfortable and safe, creating a climate of trust.
Being a good leader means using the brains of your muscles to teach your German Shepherd.
4. Your dog does not communicate like a human. Your German Shepherd will respond to many stimuli. Your body language and the tone of your voice are the two most important. Over time, your dog will understand certain commands such as "sitting", "staying" and "coming", "falling", etc.
But dogs only understand individual direct commands. Use a language that your dog understands. Simple, quiet control and body language make your message very clear.
5. Your dog wants you to be consistent. For dogs everything is black and white, they do not understand commitment. Remember and you will have less bad habits. Training your German Shepherd becomes easier.
Here is an example of the types of mistakes made by the owners:
Change the verbal commands from "coming" to "come here" and keep your verbal commands consistent at all times.
Recommended Reading: Doggy dans online dog trainer scam
If you try to keep your dog off the couch, be consistent. If you sometimes allow it and others do not allow it, you will confuse your dog and slow down the training.
How can you expect your dog to learn if you are not consistent?
6. Draw attention to your German Shepherd dog You must have your dog's full attention before he learns anything. Choose a quiet place with little or no distraction. For starters, your garden is the best place, as smells are known, as well as the surroundings.
For example, if you were in a park; You have no control over the distractions. Like other dogs and their owners, it smells of other animals, children playing or a frisbee running around.
Once you and your dog trust training, you can take it to a more distracted location.
7. Positive reinforcement leads to positive results. Your German Shepherd respond better to a positive reinforcement training. Physically screaming or punishing makes this intelligent race suspicious.
Reward good behavior with treats or compliments or both. This is the best way to show your German Shepherd Dog that he is fine and motivated to continue this behavior.
Do you remember earlier when I said that your German Shepherd really liked you?
Well, once your dog controls the behavior, you can eliminate treats and reward only with praise.
You know that there are many training programs. Each program has a specific purpose, function and result.
Let's take a closer look at some of them in our next releases. First let's look at two basic programs ...
What is obedience training and why does your dog need it? Obedience training is only meant to teach your German pastor how he behaves at home and in a social environment. Socialization, home training and sitting, staying and remembering basics are included in this category.
Obedience training is essential to avoid behavioral problems from the beginning. It is also the only way to correct bad habits and already developed behaviors.
What is tricking and why does your dog need it? As soon as you have committed yourself to training and your German pastor has the basics. You should consider enhancing the trickery.
A clever workout increases the self-confidence of your dog. It is also an excellent motivator that creates a strong bond between the owner and the dog.
