Welcome to the 9-1-1 Rare Pare and Crack Ship Celebration!

What is this event? 

The 9-1-1 Rare Pair and Crack Ship Celebration is just that! We all love Buddie, Bathena, HenRen, and Madney. Truly. But lately, there’s been an uptick in people saying “don’t ship it if it isn’t canon,” which is a load of bull. So I have created this series of events to combat this line of thinking. We should all be able to (within reason) ship who we want, no matter how unrealistic and foolish it may be. The ultimate goal of this event is to give off “Rise of the Brave Tangled Dragons” type of energy (iykyk)

How do I take part?

Well, that’s easy! This event is set up three different ways: a structured “week” of prompts, two different Bingo Cards, and a simple list of prompts. This way, anyone can join, in whatever way the inspiration strikes. Of course, you may not even want to use a given prompt. What mediums do I submit?

Anything that strikes your fancy! A drabble, a full piece of fanfiction, an art piece, an edit, a playlist… whatever gets you to be creative! On Tumblr and Bluesky, there will be the hashtag #911rarepaircelebration, and there will also be a collection on AO3.

Are there any restrictions?

In terms of types of submissions, no! However, as stated in our rules, we do ask that you refrain from promoting pairings that are incestuous, pedophilic, or grooming in nature (ex. Maddie/Buck, or May/Buck). If you have any questions about this rule, please do not hesitate to reach out to the mods!

When does posting start?

For the general prompt list and Bingo cards, as soon as the prompts are released! If you are planning on participating in the structured prompt week, that will be from August 24th - August 30th. 

Is there a timeline?

Nope! As long as I’m here, this celebration will be to. If you find these prompts in five years, be my guest! All I want to do is promote creativity, no matter how far into the future!

To preface this entire note, if you’re unhappy with what I have to say, run your own event.

Anyway, here we are, with an event that has grown five times larger than I thought it would.

And with this, came an influx of hate comments from people I don't know, and who don't know me.

I'm not a large creator by any means. Before this, I had less than 200 followers, most of them from previous fandoms. When I first pitched this idea to my friends, I only expected it to be shared by my friends and my friends' friends. So when creating the rules and boundaries, I created them with the people I know in mind. I didn't think I had to explain any of my choices.

Of course, I didn't think of who would find and share this event. The right handful of people came across it and shared, which has led me to write this message, explaining my choices.

I am not trying to "censor" you. This is not "puritanism." I also wasn’t trying to “fool” or “unnecessary excite” anyone into joining the event. I am simply not going to put time, energy, and effort into a project I am not willing to moderate. And I stated that all upfront.

By all means. Do what you want to do. Away from this space.

You do not need to send me anonymous hate messages through a damn Google Form just because I turned off my anonymous asks.

If you see that an event isn't for you, you click away. Or block me. I don't care. You don't need to send me hate thinking something will change. It won't.

I've been told by many people outside of the mod team that the rules and boundaries that have been put into place are valid and realistic. Like I said in the beginning, if you're so pressed by this, make your own event. I'm not going to be mad.

After all, fandom is free. Running a fandom event is free. You just need to put in the effort.
