In my humble opinion I am glad that Sherlock was an arsehole to Molly in the first season. Because if he wasn't a jerk in the beginning we wouldn't have seen his transition. He used to belittle her in every possible way. Now, he just can't stop doing three things:

1. Kissing her cheeks for no reason.

2. Getting his face slapped repetitively. Her slaps keep him alive and sane.

3. Smiling at her. How sweet!

Bonus: Behaving like a man and wife.

Tell me this is not love!

Sherlock's attraction toward Molly

I know, I know a lot of people will say that Sherlock was sexually attracted to Irene Adler but I think he did find Molly Hooper sexually attractive as well. I have proofs I want to share.

If you look closely at this picture you'll notice Molly is wearing lipstick in a subtle shade of red (I adjusted the brightness of the picture to make the lip colour more noticable.) Clearly, Sherlock noticed it.

Now look at this gif. Sherlock's saying "mouth's too small now". Too small for what? Why was Sherlock bothered by her small mouth? Why was he complaining about it? And nope, I do not think Sherlock was just being rude. He was disappointed she wiped it off.

Let's get back to the previous situation where Sherlock notices her lipstick. In his mind Sherlock obviously thought her lips looked bigger than before hence he uttered "mouth's too small now". And we all know big lips are a sign of sexiness and most guys are attracted to fuller lips. Molly's red lips appeared fuller to Sherlock that's why he thought it was a big improvement. Now I'm going to quote some lines from an article from DailyMail to make my suggestion more digestible.

"Full lips were deemed to be the most attractive feature, but the appeal of thin lips increased by more than 40 per cent once make-up had been applied.

Dr Geoff Beattie, who led the research, said: ‘This study proves that lips represent one of the most sensual aspects of a woman’s body and play a critical role in human sexual attraction. See my point? Molly's red lips subtly but surely piqued Sherlock's interest. That red mouth might have just sparked something in him. P.S - Irene also wore red lipstick when he first met her didn't she?

Ah! The very famous Christmas scene. Where Sherlock was literally ogling her. No seriously he was! He noticed her make up and clothes, lips and breasts to be very precise. He deduced that she was trying to seduce her date wearing the dress and makeup. You'd say he was just being Sherlock but I'd say he was being a pervert! [Sorry Sherlock I love you but you needed to know that]. Was noticing the size of her breasts, how cute right? Hell no!

Again, he pointed out two things that men find most sexy, lips and breasts. Wasn't he being too specific? And notice her lip colour, RED! He was distracted by her and so he blurted out in the middle of his work giving her his full attention, "I see you've got a new boyfriend, Molly and you're serious about him..."

Do tell me if I'm wrong!

Now let's look at this gif of Sherlock making innuendo to Molly and yes that's an innuendo. Look at his reaction, look at Molly's reaction to his words. She was feeling uneasy. Why would she feel uneasy if it was just a cough check he meant? Hm!

Sure he was high on drugs but that doesn't mean he didn't know what he was saying. I mean come on, he said all the right stuff to John why would he mess up with Molly?

Anyway, back to the innuendo part. I don't think I have seen Sherlock included himself in any innuendo with someone else before. Heck, he never made an innuendo as far as I remember. He mostly avoided anything related to sex so why all of a sudden he'd joke about himself and Molly?

I'd like to think he used to somewhat fantasise about Molly when he was really high. Therefore, I rest my case.

Sherlolly headcanon

I'd like to think after the Sherrinford incident Sherlock desperately wanted to see only one person,Molly Hooper.

As soon as he saw her he'd pull her to his chest, forgetting that he was yet to give her explanation for his actions. He was not bothered by it, not a bit. Not even cared if people were watching them. Nothing mattered at this moment except the woman in his arms.

Back in Sherrinford he thought he was going to lose Molly for good and panicked when Eurus announced to kill her. For a brief moment of time he felt grateful to Eurus for not harming Molly in any way because if that had happened he would be devastated.

Can we talk about the parting glances in TLD?

Got your attention? Good!

I love this scene to the power infinity. The parting glances gave all the sherlolly shippers great hopes. This particular scene made me feel like a husband looking at his worried wife and reassuring her that it will all be fine but he himself isn't sure of what lies ahead. [ Sorry, I'm too much dramatic and romantic haha]

Also the glance was meant for Molly. There are reasons I am saying that.

Look at this gif carefully, what do you see? The lingering glance. Firstly look at the angle of Sherlock's eyes, look where he's looking at. He's watching the person from the corner of his eyes. If it was for John his eye level would have been a little lower. The slo-mo makes more sense right?

Let's suppose he is looking at John. The question is why would he give him that lingering look? John didn't utter a single syllable for Sherlock to pay attention to him in such manner. Both of them are just walking toward the building. John's face is quite straight and unanimated from what we can figure out. This proves that neither John is talking or giving any kind of looks for Sherlock to give him that type of stare.

It's more like Sherlock looking at Molly and reassuring her with his stare, "don't worry nothing will happen to me". And it makes more sense isn't it? Molly has been really worried about him because of his drug abuses and then he is going to meet the serial killer Culverton after all. Sherlock already knows she's stressed. (Is it only me who can see his subtle reassuring smile btw?)

Know what's more interesting? Sherlock knows he is going into grave danger where his life would be at stake, hence that glance. He takes a good look at her before departing in case he doesn't get to see her again. Such feelings!

Now look at our pretty Molly. She looked like she wanted to say something to Sherlock. When do we give that certain reaction? We do it when we want to say something to someone, pretty simple. This further proves that the departing stare happened between them. Maybe she wanted to tell him "stay safe" but was unsure whether she'd tell him or not.

Overall, this scene made me feel warm and fuzzy. Oh by the way, it is not unknown that Sherlolly used to share meaningful glances to each other even before.
